I always have great service at Haywire. Brunch has become one of my favorite times to go. The kolaches are fantastic. Their queso and jalapeño gravy are both Lactaid-worthy from my perspective. The interior design definitely fits the vibe of the restaurant.

Love the vibe here. The decor is very charming and pretty. Service was great. King and Bonnie were our servers and they were amazing and attentive while also making solid recommendations. We had the chicken fried chicken and everything was perfect. We also shared the cornbread and that's not to be missed. Can't wait to come back and try more things.

Was meeting someone for the first time here for drinks. Not even sure how I blurted out the statement, but I told the bartender, Austin, that I was meeting someone for the first time. No idea what he looked like, age, like literally nothing. So I told him the whole back story. And Austin assured me that he had my back, that he was committed, if something went off kilter, that I would give him a look and he would understand the assignment. I think Austin even stayed a little past his shift to make sure I was good. And I just want to shout out to Austin on Thursday afternoon working the bar. First of all, you're a Saint. Thank you. I appreciate you. And secondly, you made one of the best mojito's I've ever had. But seriously, Austin, thank you so much!! I also ordered chips and queso. Which was fabulous. I wish the chips were a little thicker, the queso is thick and rich and the chip breaks when scooping it up. But overall, fantastic. If you haven't been to Haywire, please book mark it. Food is great. Drinks are great. Service has been outstanding, and it's just country chic inside with the crystal chandeliers. So how did this meet up go? It was good. We laughed and had drinks.

What a great experience Sunday night with some high level service and food. Maddie (could butcher the spelling as there's many versions) was attentive and helpful all night long. The food was fun, tasty, cooked perfectly and full of flavor. It was a night that was worth mentioning to Keith the manager for such a great offering. We will return.

This place is toooooo cute. It was my birthday (6/1) and Hubby made reservations for a booth. We had a great server and food was GOOD!!! The bread pudding was the best part!!! Our food was excellent too lol

My family and I went here today from Easter brunch. I will say we made a reservation and was taken care of as soon as we came in, however we were there about 40 to 45 minutes before our food was on the table. The food was good but room temperature and not really even warm. My daughter got a burger and the bun was soggy when it arrived. Makes you think it had been ready for a little while. The food still tasted good, but not its best and not anything like it has been in the couple of other times we came. I had the Ranch Hand Breakfast. Good but not great! The astetics are still amazing, however so are sunsets on the lake. Im not so sure when I'll come back. The first time I was here, it was much busier and the service was faster and a lot better.

I met a Yelp friend for dinner at Haywire as they were hosting their cowgirl dinner including Caesar salad, steak, house fries and a martini (lemon drop) for $30. Usually, food at Haywire is exceptionally good. Tonight, perhaps due to the mass production of the cowgirl dinner, the quality of the food was sub-optimal. The steak was rubbery and hard to eat (only ate one piece). The fries were cold when initially served and the replacement fries were not hot either. The Cesar salad served was not at all like the ceasar salad normally served at Haywire (lettuce was not fresh and crisp). Net, net, I ate very little of my food. I have decided at this stage of my life, if the food is not good, I will not force myself to eat it. The lemon drop martini was nicely prepared and enjoyable to drink. We also ordeedr the crab dip which was nicely prepared. Sergio, our server, occasionally came to our table to check on us, but not to the level that servers at Haywire normally do. The best part of the meal was visiting with my friend.

Stopped in for a drink at the bar while shopping...had a great experience!! Dre, the bartender was amazing!! He was friendly and upbeat. He brightened my day. I guess the fries and vodka did too. Lol! He works mornings during the week. You should definitely go see him!

Tried the $30 Cowgirl Dinner and it was SO good! The highlights for me were definitely the buttermilk biscuits. you can tell they make them in-house, and I'm literally still thinking about them. Probably my favorite thing on the table! The salad was just okay (wished there was a little more to it), but overall the whole meal came together really well. I'd love to come back and try some other items on the menu next time!

Haywire is offering a lovely special for the month of March in honor of international women's day! The special was a play on the viral "girl dinner" trend and Hayward's version is steak, mini caesar, fries and a lemon drop ($30) myself and two friends came tonight to catch up and enjoy what was supposed to be a good meal. Let's start with the good. This place is beautiful and very well decorated! Wonderful place for a date night or meeting friends. Now onto the food. To be honest it was awful. The steak was rubbery and didn't taste like real meat.. the fries were good but so are McDonald's fries. I would be concerned if even the fries weren't made well...The salad was not fresh. On top of that our waiter was rude. The lemon drop arrived to me less than half way full although it was good. I can see the potential, but it's so shameful that service was crummy and the food I tried tonight was lackluster. The menu is expansive and I would come back to try their regular food as one of my friends tried the catfish and her food was actually fresh!

Southern with a Domain twist. Haywire feels like a fun, lowkey spot to grab drinks or a meal at while still being central to shops and other places in The Domain. Parking is easy to find with a small garage around the corner or the much larger red garage right down the street. We made a reservation for 4, which we were seated about 10-15 minutes late. The place was very packed and workers were moving quickly but being late for your reservation on the restaurant's fault is a ding for us. When we were seated we ordered quickly and our waitress was nice, giving us details about her growing up in Louisiana. We ordered the chicken fried steak with sides of brussel sprouts and creamy cajun corn and also a double cheeseburger with mac and cheese and onion rings. The chicken fried steak was good but the breading was very light, falling apart with every cut into it. The flavor was still very good though. The sides of creamy cajun corn and brussel sprouts were fantastic, popping with flavor and texture. The cheeseburger was also a hit, well balanced and savory. The mac and cheese and onion rings were similarly well received. We were brought out a special birthday dessert of whiskey bread pudding that was the hit of the night for everyone. It was moist and sugary, such a good way to end a savory meal. The only hiccup during service was one of our party members' burgers coming with the wrong toppings, which they corrected by quickly preparing a new one. Despite that, Haywire is one of the better dinner options in The Domain. From its atmosphere to food and service, it touches on all the things necessary to have a good time. Considering its look and location the prices are also fair and warrant a serious look for anyone looking for a higher end date night or dinner. This is somewhere we will definitely be coming back to.

Let me start by saying we must have had the worst table in the entire place. I'm talking about the kind of table where you start questioning your life choices... like how did we end up here? It definitely took away from the experience at first. But then the brunch showed up... and just like that, all those negative emotions packed their bags and left. The food was so good it literally turned our frown upside down. Every bite was amazing, and the service was just as good! So yes, this place is definitely going on my "must-return" list. Just maybe... not at those tables again.

We absolutely enjoyed ourselves at Haywire. We had a reservation for 12 to celebrate a birthday and were seated in a private room, which was a really nice touch. Since our party was large, during reservation a card was required to be put on file with a minimum spend of $660 plus tax and a 20% gratuity, which honestly wasn't hard to meet. Separate checks weren't available; the options were one card or up to four cards split evenly. The food was delicious and the service was great. For starters, we ordered the vaquero shrimp and the lump crab dip for the table both were excellent. I had the redfish with mashed potatoes, which was good, though I wish it had a bit more seasoning. My husband ordered the prime rib and absolutely loved it; it was perfectly cooked, tender, and full of flavor.

As I walked up to the easy to find and steps from the PURPLE PARKING GARAGE restaurant, I was already vibing off the patio. Totally giving vacay veranda. The hostess greeted me with a smile, and I dipped into the restrooms before I asked about our table. Of course, I went for a patio table and while I didn't enjoy the occasional fly zipping around, the shaded and breezy tables were perfection on a Sunday afternoon. Our server was Jamie and he was absolutely a DREAM. I was fully prepared for that awkward wait at a table alone when you're lunch date is running late and you have no idea exactly how late... From the moment I was seated alone, Jamie introduced himself, was warm, and fully engaged in manifesting a wonderful experience. He was mindful about sharing just enough with me about the scratch to table mission they have at Doc Bs while saving the good stuff for when both my friend and I were present. My friend ended up going with their special and it was TO DIE FOR!!! I want to say it was Chilean Ahi Tuna Salad? It was some sort of voodoo magic seared onto the Tuna, and they present it like dominoes across the bottom of a giant pile of delightful, chopped salad. I did the Buffalo Chicken Salad, and I ate every crunchy blue cheese tickled bite! Waiting on a friend too? My safe go-to order was the Guacamole! They bring it out with the Sweet Potato Chips - HOUSE MADE and Jamie gave me Tortilla chips too in case my friend preferred something different. They have fans on the patio, so it's not too hot. I'd complain they didn't have the wine I wanted, but when they didn't have my first request, not only did they bring me my 2nd request, but the gentleman from behind the bar walked over a taste of a comparable wine to the one I had originally chosen and I absolutely appreciate that extra effort to make sure I felt valued and seen. Way to go, Doc Bs! **Note: When a fly decided to take a dive and a swim relay in my glass of wine, they didn't bat a lash and replaced the glass for me and seamlessly disposed of Fly Guy in all his drunken Memorial Day glory! The guacamole with sweet potato chips is also superlative, and reasonably substantial in terms of portion size and satiation. For the best value, definitely hit up the lunch menu, where you can get a "wok out" bowl with tofu; a highly competent vegan option. Vida Verde Kitchen -- A Hidden Gem That's Worth Finding…read more Austin is overflowing with trendy restaurants where the food is decent, the lighting is aggressive, and the wait time requires a light snack and a personality shift. I tend to avoid those places. Vida Verde Kitchen, thankfully, is not that. Tucked into a great area but slightly hidden (the kind of spot you feel proud to "discover"), Vida Verde feels like a restaurant that exists for people who actually want to eat, not just post. The menu is a thoughtful fusion of Tex-Mex, fresh flavors, and Americana--familiar enough to be comforting, but creative enough to keep things interesting. Yes, it's a bit overpriced, but the food earns its confidence. The guacamole is an absolute must, and anything leaning Tex-Mex is consistently solid. I can vouch. The wait staff deserves real credit here--knowledgeable, attentive, and genuinely invested in the food and experience, which goes a long way these days. The atmosphere hits that Austin sweet spot: industrial touches softened by lush green foliage. It's stylish without trying too hard, which is rare and appreciated. If I had one note? This place needs a happy hour and a few more solid specials. Do that, and Vida Verde becomes dangerous--in the best way. Overall: a unique, thoughtful restaurant that avoids the hype trap and delivers where it matters. Definitely worth your time (and thankfully, not hours of it).

I wanted to like this place. I did not…read more We walked in at a peak time and there were only 2 tables seated, which took me by surprise. This place has been around for a little while and I figured it would be a little more lively. We were taken to our table, which was lovely. The table itself was made of a nice wood, the lighting and decor were tasteful, but when I sat in the chair, it became very clear that these chairs are not intended for anyone over 170 pounds. I glanced at the other patrons and noticed no one was sitting back in their seat relaxing, even the very slender folks. Hard to relax when your hips are being squeezed to death. That was strike one. Strike two came when I started looking for a drink menu. The specials were printed on an AI generated flyer. I found the drinks, but could not find a listing of NA drinks. It was either water or alcohol, I guess. It didn't matter to me because at this point I was just looking to end the visit as quickly as possible. Strike three was the food. The menu was all over the place. It had Philly cheesesteak, tacos, steak, burgers, pizza... there was no focus. Since I'd gone there with Mexican in mind, that's what I ordered. I ordered shrimp quesadillas with street corn. The food came out extremely fast. There was not a single fleck of seasoning anywhere. There was no hint of lime in the street corn. There was no spice at all on the shrimp. It was flat and flavorless. My companion ordered the beef enchilada, which was described to me as being "for a specific type of palate". As far as I could tell, there was no dessert menu. To say this place was a disappointment doesn't even begin to cut it. I should have left when I realized the seats were only about 16" wide but I was too curious about all the good reviews. I don't know who is behind this venture or why, but being a restauranteur is well outside of their lane and they'd do well to get back where they belong.

Their allocated bourbon selection is top notch. Price-wise is expected. I wouldn't personally say it was cheap but it's better than some other higher-end places with great allocated bourbons to try. Expect to spend 40-60+ for an ounce on the very hard to get items. Food was kind of mediocre to me. It was fine, though nothing was knock you socks off for me. The marinated steak was suggested by a friend, but tasted like marinated korean bbq. I would opt for something a bit more classic if you were to come here, unless you adore marianted kbbq, very similar flavor. French dip was tasty. Having just gone to house of prime rib in San Francisco, I think my prime rib and au jus setting might be a bit broken so it wasn't amazing. Just tasty. My partner ordered his steak medium and his steak came out very rare, perhaps even on the blue side. As someone who loves rare steak, it looked to be a bit rarer even for me. That was surprising as I'd expect a place like this to have dialed it in. Perhaps marinated makes it super easy to burn? However, kitchen did promptly address this and the chef(?) came out himself to make sure it was done properly. What surprised me, at the end, was we had a portion of our meal comped because of the mistake. Overall, I think it was worth trying. If you love rare bourbon, a great place to go to to try some of the higher end stuff before paying secondary on an entire bottle.

I have been putting off reviewing this place because it was just such an incredible experience that…read moreI didn't know how to put it into words. I think I am ready. I have only been here for takeout during COVID and got the Famous French Dip Au Jus and ate it in my car and had a freak out moment as it was one of the best things I've ever tasted! We had a 4:30 reservation for my birthday (we were with a 6mo year old) and even at such a time, the place was packed! Little did we know how packed it would be as we were leaving! The host was exceptional at their job, checking us in and getting us to a very nice table and getting the baby a high chair (a very elegant one at that). Gabriel was our waiter and was super relaxed as he announced the specials for the night and got us our drinks. Poor guy would be running us about 6 iced teas each all evening but he didn't mind at all. In fact he went so above and beyond with the lemon and saccharine that it was insane. We ordered the following dishes (and no I'm sorry I didn't take any photos because I was 1) too in the moment and 2) was too overwhelmed with how delicious everything was): Asian Noodle Salad, Classic Cheeseburger, Famous French Dip Au Jus, Chimichurri Steak Sandwich, Apple Cobbler, & Key Lime Pie. We ate family style and it was just spectacular. My favorites were the Noodle Salad (add steak PLEASE) and the Apple Cobbler. Wow, just wow. Service 11/10 Food 11/10 (how can such a simple menu be so perfect?! I mean, how can you serve a dang burger like that?) Atmosphere 10/10 Experience 11/10 I can't wait to celebrate here again!
