They make pretty decent Egg Foo Young, which is usually a good way to judge a place. Recently they fixed and cleaned up the restaurant nicely. My wife and I have been ordering from China Hill for about two years, and we've seen a significant decline in quality. The worst offense by far has been this chicken fried rice. It arrived quickly as I live right down the road. The delivery guy was polite, all was well, but when I opened the box (which weighed about 6 pounds), I saw what was pictured. I asked for extra egg, assuming it would be mixed in like every other restaurant's fried rice I've had. It came in a giant omelette like circle on top of a grease slick of rice and the weirdest chicken pieces I've ever seen. The bottom of the container was wet with grease, all of the rice was saturated, and I found a piece of mushroom that I didn't think was supposed to be included in the veggie mix as it was the only piece I found. The chicken was in large and oddly shaped chunks, some flat like they'd been hammered, some shaped like their sweet and sour chicken without the breading. The overall taste was not terrible, but the grease was so overwhelming and disgusting to swallow that I threw away the rest of the huge amount of food I'd received, and a few hours later I was sick. So I wanna give like 3.7 stars but I'll round up to 4/5. This place and Panda Express on William cannon are my mom's go to places for fast Chinese food. It's pretty standard stuff (eg sesame/kung pao chicken, fried rice, fried chicken, soups, etc etc) at reasonable prices. You can get a pretty decent amount of food from the meal deals so I appreciate that. The inside isn't anything fancy, I've only ever gotten take out from here and prefer to just eat at home since it's more comfortable but they do have some booths. All problems solved. * * * China Hill's niche is rapid delivery Chinese food. It is delivery only. No indoor dining. And I suspect that even if COVID were to disappear tomorrow - They would still want to be a delivery only Chinese restaurant. One consequence of the 1000% commitment to the delivery model - These people are fast. Really fast. Your food may take a while to get to your house because your Uber driver or Favor runner is a slacker or a layabout. But over at China Hill - they went from you ordering food to food in a bag ready to go out the door in about a nanosecond. I was completely impressed. I was also impressed with serving size. This is my go to place for Chinese food. Whenever I'm done eating i don't ever feel nasty or anything like you usually do after eating greasy/fast food. The house fried rice is always cooked perfect and the sweet and sour chicken is also a very good go to. Their fried rice in general is perfectly cooked not too greasy. The egg drop soup is very good aswell (they put corn in it by the way) and their egg rolls are also pretty amazing too.
