Vegan 'hangover' Ramen. If you're sensitive to spice, make sure to tell them to make it mild!

We drive more than 25 miles just to get to Sura because it is THAT good. It's hard to find Vegan Korean BBQ spots that hit the spot, so when we we do find one, we do what it takes to get there. Food is AMAZING. The new recipe for their vegan bulgogi BBQ is ! Customer service is great as well, as they do keep checking in on you (even when they're busy, busy). There is outdoor seating as well. One of Long Beach's little gems, for sure.

    VEGAN combo, Spicy Chicken

Wednesday evening, my boyfriend and I managed to find a parking spot in the small lot in the back. A lady vacated her spot. It was perfect timing! We chose a table outside for dinner. There was zero delay in service and everyone was very nice. We ordered a honeydew Melona smoothie with soy milk and a taro smoothie with whole milk. Both smoothies were so delish! We decided on the vegan combo and ordered spicy chicken à la carte. We were given a big bowl of japchae. I had vegan banchan (kimchi, sprouts). A server informed me which banchan was vegan and which was not. We got the vegan dumplings and that was very tasty! A server helped us cook the meats and he was so kind. He dished out our meats on to our plates when it was ready. We loved the vegan garlic shrimp and the fact they were tailless. I wish we could've bought the vegan meats and/or banchan to take home and grill. I finished off my little bowl of white rice with the sides and savory meats. We took our leftover vegan bulgogi and spicy chicken with us. The next night, I put my vegan bulgogi in tacos. It was just as good as before! We would definitely come here again! This restaurant was on my radar for a while and I'm so grateful we finally tried it!

Best KKBQ I've had! We went on a Saturday night and it was a little busy but we only had to wait 5 min for a table. We sat outside and it was the perfect weather for it, the stovetop also kept us warm! The service was really nice, they were really attentive and gave us good recommendations for our picks of meat. We got the pork and beef combo and it was the best quality meat I've ever had at a KBBQ restaurant. The beef melted in your mouth it was so tender. They also gave lots of sides it was definitely worth the price. I will be back for sure!

I cannot believe I've lived in the area for 15+ years and never made it to Sura. I'm genuinely kicking myself because this place is delicious. You can sit outside and grill your own food or dine inside and have the BBQ brought out already cooked. I chose inside tonight because, honestly, I went out specifically so I wouldn't have to cook. LOL. Our server, Kelly, was fantastic. Super friendly, great recommendations, and she guided us toward ordering family‑style so we could try a bit of everything. And yes, Korean food also means Soju. We had the Jinro Peach Soju, and it was dangerously easy to drink. I sipped, but it definitely goes down like juice. Service overall was perfect. Even when Kelly stepped away, other staff checked in just enough so we never felt ignored or constantly interrupted. It was that ideal balance you hope for but rarely get. We arrived before the dinner rush, and I'm glad we did because the restaurant isn't very big. I can only imagine the wait once things get busy. If you're craving Korean food, stop by. I'm already planning to return with a bigger group and sit outside--looks like it would be such a fun experience.

Great options for vegan/ vegetarian folks! The outdoor patio is set for grilling only and the inside is al la carte. Wonderful experience! Would def recommend

Decent spot. Came by for dinner with a larger group. We definitely over-ordered, but made a big dent for sure! We got seated outside. Service was below average. With the amount we ordered, they had difficulty placing all the food on our table. Side refills and overall cadence of food being brought out was a bit unorthodox. Pricier side, though meat quality was pretty good. Small lot in the back, otherwise, street parking only.

    Bulgogi Bibimbap BOWL
    Leslie S.

So so so so good. I got the bulgogi hot stone bibimbap and I realized that I never want a non-hot stone bowl ever again. The tastiest part you get from a hot stone bowl is the crispy rice at the bottom. Made the experience a hundred times better. The bulgogi beef is so tender and sweet. The vinegary and spicy banchan paired so nice with the beef and rice. Lots of tasty veggies and of course, a fried egg on top makes anything better. Nothing felt too greasy or overcooked. Genuinely a 10/10 meal.

Great place! My husband and I went to celebrate my 9 year vegan anniversary and really enjoyed the dishes. Spicy pork + Sapporo 10/10 Vegan Bulgogi 8/10, a little dry for my liking but overall good, would recommend Vegan Korean Fried Chicken 9/10, amazing with the pickled veggies! The v banchan were the best! I loved the macaroni salad, radish and spicy cucumbers were my fav. Our server was Alex, super attentive and answered all of our questions. It wasn't too busy and the service was quick. They have some parking in the back. Definitely coming back to try more!

Went back to Sura and it was as good as I remembered, perhaps better. Sides were great and service is on point. Prices are phenomenal and portions are huge. Perfect ambiance for a night out with friends or family. Best kept secret.

Garlic chicken wings, fries & picked daikon

I had the garlic chicken wings with fries and crispy rice skewers and both were good. The chicken wings with the red sauce are addictive but just had one to taste from someone else. Service was good but they were slammed so the busing wasn't as timely. Ambiance is nice and they have the outdoor patio for BBQ at the table. Happy Hour prices are great!

Such a gem! Went here for my birthday and finally got to try Korean BBQ for the first time thanks to their vegan menu. The best part is they also have meat options so there is something for everyone. The vegan Korean bulgolgi is the star of the show -- tasty when you dip in sesame oil with salt. The appetizers were also delish and the vegan shrimp was just ok.

Sura Korean bbq was good the food here came in pretty big portions for some of the meals i would say for the price though its a little expensive. The service was okay we got a couple of check ups nothing extra ordinary. The seating area was cool on the patio side with the addition of some Long Beach crazy heads walking by. We sat with 5 adults two kids and waited about 15 minutes to be seated so not too bad

Great korean food!! I got the garlic pork belly and assorted tofu soup combo. Both were tasty! I wish the pork came with rice, but the soup did fill me up. Also love that they have soo many side dishes. There were 7 of them, and i've not seen the mushroom in other korean restaurants before, it was delicious. At first, service was slow as it took them a while to come and get my order. After that, there was one server that would occasionally check how I was doing and filled up my water without asking. The inside of the place is modern and clean. There's also a few tables available outside.

Restaurant is packed, so place resos if possible. Food here is absolutely delicious. Notable dishes for me are the Pad See Ew with the giant shrimp and the Salmon Larb. Pad See ew had such a good wok fry essence. So flavorful, and perfect blend of savory and slight sweetness. Chinese broccoli nicely wok fried. The shrimp was jumbo and so succulent. Salmon Larb was perfectly cooked with fried cubes of juicy flavorful salmon. Tossed in fresh mint, cilantro, scallions, a ton of fresh lime juice, chili flakes, red onions and lettuce. The toasted rice powder was definitely apparent as every Larb dish should have. Slightly different take of Larb, bit more modernized and tweaked cause definitely a salad with the lettuce versus served with the cabbage and cucumber on the side. I don't think you can go wrong with what you order. Definitely fusion of authentic with a modernized American feel. Cocktails were excellent and recommend their Tamarind Spicy drink, don't remember the name but it was so good. Unfortunately no photos cause we weee hungry and just cleared out the food as it came out. Service is straight forward. We got what we needed with a bit wait due to the fact the place is BUSY!

The only request from anybody was for Pad Thai, the most common dish at all Thai restaurants. I GPS my way over and order the food. I was Khao Soy on the menu and I don't see that at too many Thai places that I've been to, so I got an order of that with chicken. Of course, an order of Pad Thai, 2 orders since I have 5 hungry people to feed. Also, I ordered the Thai coconut soup, I think it's called Tom Kha with chicken. One more noodles dish was the Drunken Noodles, it's kinda like Chinese Chow Fun, but has a more spicy flavor and basil in it. The food was all pack and bagged for me to take back to the hotel. We used my room since I have a bigger room. We had plates and set ups for all five of us and we re-plated the food on the serving plates that came with the room. Some tends to be very Americanize, others are just whatever but people love them. I like what I like and this place is one of them. Like mentioned, whenever I'm in Long Beach a visit here is always a must. The service is amazing as all the staffs are very friendly and welcoming. The place isn't that big but a fairly decent amount of seating on both side. They do have a table out front but it's only one. Menu has pretty much a good selection of Thai dishes. I like what I like and tend to go for the same items as they are one of the place that makes it the way I prefer. And why is it some Thai places don't offer their classic dish, the boat noodles. I've been to a few and they don't offer it while some places, it's not that good. Here, it's alway consistent and very flavorful. That a must for me and alway ordered. We also love the papaya salad which you can have Thai style or Laos style. Depending on what your preference is. Their larb is great as well. Very flavorful and tasty. Of course our main items we tend to get here, the boat noodles which I love as it's flavorful, broth is perfect and all the extras added. Also all their curries are excellent. Lately we've been getting their massaman curries which the flavors is really nice. Whatever protein you like. The curries do come with a side of rice but an extra order is alway needed. Love it to have with the papaya salad and larb. All their dishes are great and very flavorful. Spice level varies on what you like but I tend to go with medium and add all the extra spices for myself with their sauce selection. We tend to alway be full even before being asked if we wanted dessert. The food is always amazing and the staff are always friendly and sweet. There's two restaurants that's a door apart and both are great but this one takes the cake for me. It's always a must when I'm in town as I know the food will alway be delicious. Highly recommended. Heads up, parking in the area is a bitch. It's all residential so people tend to stay in or else they're going to lose their spots. Just a heads up.

This space used to be El Pocho Grill, which unfortunately closed years ago. I was seated immediately and very much enjoyed the infused water. The Tonkotsu Ramen was delivered shortly after ordering. It was good with flavorful broth that wasn't overly-salty. It just didn't hit the spot and had me desiring more. It's some of the best ramen in LB, but the value is lacking, so everything including lemons is an additional charge. They also tack on a 17.68% service charge for their operation since it's a non-tipping, cashless establishment. The service was good, but the operation is business first, restaurant second.

Boxed very well inside plastic containers and still.pipinh hot when we came home. Portions are very generous! We bought for 3 but definitely had servings for 6 or 7, we love leftovers! Lunches for all of us and more! We ordered Chocken Curry Vermicelli Noodle. It was excellent with some heat! Definitely all we needed split three-ways! Nice large pieces of chicken too. The Ja-Kwai Twin bread was so good, remunded me of fried dough! We also ordered Pad Thai and Pad See Lew. Very tasty and again very generous portions. Definitely going back! Great location and food! Service was very friendly!

Feeling under the weather, I wanted to have a big bowl of pho but try a different Viatnamese…read morerestaurant so I googled pho restaurants near me and this one popped up. Tucked away in a small older strip mall, this is an order at the counter type of place (also have one cashier as well). I ordered the veggie pho and my BFF ordered the rare brisket pho. Both were tasty and the portions were huge for the regular size (don't order the large unless you are sharing). No fountain drinks are available as everything is canned or bottled. You can get bottled water for 1.00; however, water with ice and cups is provided gratis. Overall, a great place just not as authentic as some other Viatnamese restaurants but I still enjoyed it.
