I had a friend recommend this spot and had to immediately come check it out. I had been craving Thai food and there aren't many options over on my neck of the woods so we made the drive to Long Beach. Upon arriving, we were greeted and asked to sit to wait for a table. It was busy but not crowded. The waitress handed us menus to look at while we waited for a table which was a nice gesture and allowed us to be ready when seated. It took less than 10 min to get seated. Once seated, they were fairly quick to come and take our order. We ordered: 1. Satay chicken 2. Yellow Curry with Chicken 3. Beef Pad See Ew and 4. Shrimp Pad Thai Everything was absolutely amazing! I could eat yellow curry for the rest of my life and this was one of the best ones I've had. We did get a red Eden cocktail and a beer. The cocktail was good! Not too sweet or strong. Service was great, too! Friendly and very attentive. The restaurant itself is very clean and the decor is very demure haha it's cute and spacious. KIN Thai Cuisine in Long Beach off Broadway is a really solid spot. Parking is available, but it is limited, so just keep that in mind depending on the time you go. The restaurant itself is nice and clean, including the restrooms, which I always appreciate. The staff was very customer service oriented and did a great job making suggestions and giving tips about the menu and spice levels, which was super helpful. I started with the Money Bags, which are basically fried dumplings. Mine were a little overcooked, almost close to burnt. They still had decent flavor, but I'd personally rate them about a 2.9 out of 5. I also had the green papaya salad with mild spice, and the spice level was perfect, especially for people who are sensitive to heat. I usually stick around medium spice at Thai restaurants, but even the mild here still gives you a nice kick. For my drink, I got the Thai tea, which came topped with a Thai tea popsicle that slowly melted into the drink. Such a cute touch, creative, and tasty. For my entrée, I had the basil garlic sauce with sliced steak and a side of rice, which I really enjoyed. For dessert, we shared the mango sticky rice. It was good, but I do feel like it was a little overpriced for the portion size. Maybe part of that is because of the specialty rice they use that has the purple hue. I know a few places in Long Beach where you can get more for the same price. That said, the presentation was really cute with the flower garnish and everything looked beautiful. The atmosphere was nice. It has an open kitchen concept, so you can actually see the cooking happening, which adds to the experience. Seating is somewhat limited and the tables are fairly close together in certain sections, especially where the divider walls are, so you can definitely hear nearby conversations depending on where you sit. One of the various stops on my friend's bday food crawl last month. Definitely a delicious Thai food restaurant that bring tons of flavors. Kin Long Beach is located on the corner of E Broadway and Alamitos Ave, with the restaurant on the E Broadway side of the street. What I can only describe as golden basket house pendant lights, dark wood beams and an open area design the space looks much bigger. It's separated by 2-seater tables on the right, 4-6 group tables on the left, a beautiful private10-person banquet room with more upscale cushioned seating and a TV, which then leads to an outside dining space, which is where we sat. The server was very kind and answered all our questions. I started with a Ruby Fizz for a drink, while my friend ordered the Thai Ice Tea. The Ruby Fizz is a gin based drink, but you could hardly tell it was in it which is exactly how I like my drinks. It was delicious! The Thai Ice Tea is definitely a show piece but every bit delicious. It comes with a Thai tea popsicle that slowly melts into the drink. For food we ordered the Chicken Satay, Beef Pad See Ew, Avacado Curry, and Pad Thai. The Chicken Stay was nice a juicy and the peanut sauce went well with it. My bf brought me here for Valentine's and I had a wonderful experience. We were able to bring the fur baby along which was a plus! We couldn't find any parking besides a parking lot directly across the street which turned out to be for Roscoe's (oops). Don't make the same mistake we did and be sure to find proper parking somewhere amongst the lively intersections of Alamitos & 7th. Kin Long Beach - Late Lunch Gem I stopped by Kin Long Beach for a late lunch around 1:00 PM and was able to catch their lunch special just before they closed at 2:30 PM. Honestly, the experience was so warm and welcoming--it felt like they gave me a little extra grace while they were transitioning into their dinner service at 5 PM, which I truly appreciated. Food: I started with the calamari (salt & pepper style), and it had this nice kick--almost like a mix of Sriracha and Tajín--with a dipping sauce and lime on the side. The batter did fall apart a bit when picking it up with chopsticks, but the flavor and crunch definitely made up for it. I also ordered a Thai tea that came with a large popsicle--such a cute and unique touch--and it kept my drink cold as it melted. For my entrée, I had the shrimp Pad Thai from the lunch special, and the presentation alone was beautiful. It came with a fresh spring vegetable roll and a side salad with cherry tomatoes and a creamy balsamic vinaigrette that I absolutely loved. KIN in Long Beach seriously impresses us every single time! The Thai food here is some of the best we've had. We ordered the Thai fried rice with chicken and the coconut soup with chicken, both at medium spice, and wow, the spice level was no joke. If you're sensitive to heat, definitely go mild. Medium was much spicier than we expected! That said, the flavors were incredible. We also tried the baby back barbecue ribs, and they were so tender and delicious. They leaned a little on the salty side, but still totally worth it and packed with flavor. The green papaya salad was so crisp and refreshing, but somehow savory at the same time?? It was just made really well. And the panang curry just had such a nice umami aftertaste to it. Pad thai was solid too. I didn't get to try their drinks this time but I sure will if I ever get to come here again, they got a full bar inside in its own separate area. The drinks they offer from the bar look very well thought of. I had the smoky watermelon margarita that comes with Mezcal and it was delicious. Can't wait to try their other drinks on the menu. The food was absolutely delicious and they don't skimp out on the crab. You'll want to ask for some chili garlic sauce on the side to make it spicy. I finally got to try mango sticky rice for the first time, it was different from what I expected, but it's was good. I always start with Thai tea. I love how it has the in house made popsicle inside the drink. It's not too swear, creamy and delicious. The orange chicken goes crazy! After some deliberations, we decided on Kin of Long Beach with its raving reviews. The restaurant sits on a corner lot with its own parking lot large enough for 30 cars. Inside, the decor is an East-West fusion, blending chandeliers with traditional Asian lamps. The combo of booths and bar counter seatings can accommodate around 80 guests. The courteous host guided us to our table and the waiter brough water and menu right away. Very disappointed with our experience here. My husband ordered the Pad Thai and ended up getting sick afterward -- he's been in bed with chills since we got back, which completely ruined our evening. On top of that, they automatically added 20% gratuity for our table of 6 (4 adults + 2 toddlers). While I understand auto-gratuity for larger parties, they calculated the 20% based on the total after tax, which is not standard practice. When I asked the server about it, she said the owner told her it was "an IRS requirement," which simply isn't true. That explanation felt dishonest and misleading. Charging gratuity on top of tax and blaming it on the IRS comes across as deceptive. There is an attached parking lot that actually had a decent number of parking spots so parking was relatively easy. This standalone restaurant looks more modest on the outside but once you step in it's very modern and bright. There were a lot of gold elements (including utensils) very common for Thai things. Service was warm and friendly throughout the meal. The menu was extensive and there were also several affordable weekday lunch special options available (~$14-17 dollars/dish + tax). We ended up ordering one dish off of the weekday lunch menu (mango curry with chicken) and one dish off of the regular menu (whole fried fish, which was branzino, at market price which came out to ~$30 pre-tax). We also ordered a Thai lime tea to try, which was tart and tasty. All of the food was presented beautifully and was very tasty. I love coming here, especially for the wonton soup. If it's on a chilly day or when I'm feeling sick this soups is like a warm hug. It would be my first time trying the baby bok choy which is very delicious but too greasy for my liking. The veggie dumplings are very delicious and I really like them. I definitely order again. The atmosphere is very beautiful and looks very high-end, but the pricing is very reasonable and the stuff is very sweet. read more

Went to Kin Long Beach to meet a friend because we were both craving Thai food. We had lived and studied together in Thailand for a month and wanted to re-live some of the nostalgia from that time. The service was pleasant and efficient, with food and drinks presented in a timely manner. All of the servers spoke Thai, which added to the authenticity of the dining experience. We opted for the spicy pad thai, which had a similar taste profile to that of tom yum, and the drunken noodles. The drunken noodles come with a good amount of beef (although some of it was a bit tough) and perfectly chewy thick rice noodles. The prices were reasonable for the portions, and the drinks were reasonably priced as well. Bonus points for the parking lot, which had plenty of spaces about an hour before closing. Would recommend if you are in the area and craving Thai food. read more
