Ordered on Postmates and they prepared our food so quickly! The American dragon roll was yummy and they provided a decent side of eel sauce. The Alaskan cut roll was mid, salmon was kind of hard, wouldn't recommend. My girlfriend got the sunrise on second, negihama c/r, and yellowtail yo-yo sushi, all of which she said were good. Prices were good too so I'll definitely try more rolls next time.

Honestly, I'm not sure if I was really just starving and it's been a while since I've had sushi so I was excited... But I think this was the best sushi I have ever had. That is a bold statement, but that is how I felt about my experience last night and I'm excited to go back and eat more sushi! We got a bunch of different things on their happy hour menu and then ordered more. I think the Sexy girl roll and the spicy tuna on crispy rice where my two favorite things. The chicken teriyaki was also really yummy. There is a parking lot, but it is small and was full so we had to find street parking, but it wasn't too bad.

I am so happy I finally tried this place! Plenty of free parking in the lot, clean bathrooms. Such a quaint place with a cute ambiance. Absolutely amazing service! Our waitress was great and the whole team works together to deliver your food, ask if you need more drinks, bus the tables, etc. We ordered the crunch roll, sexy girl roll and a couple others and they were all amazing and fresh! The happy hour menu is the star here! Every day from 3-6 and amazing deals! We got 5 rolls, 2 being premium rolls, for only $50ish dollars! Other great happy hour deals as well. We ordered a pitcher of beer and hot sake and all were very reasonably priced. I cannot wait to go back and try more food! Delicious!!

39 Degrees and I Luv Sushi are still two of my top favorites for specialty rolls and sashimi. My daughter and I came in a little over a week ago to have sushi. We sat at the bar this time around and were attended by Jay and behind the counter making our sushi was John (I couldn't clearly hear his name but I believe that was his name.) He was very friendly and even offered me a piece of salmon belly sashimi so I could taste the difference between that and the regular salmon sashimi. It really does melt in your mouth! Thank you for the special treatment Between the two of us, we shared a sunrise on second roll, 3 pieces each of salmon and yellowtail sashimi and two pieces of unagi sushi. It was all very fresh and delicious, and my kid had fun sitting at the counter vs a table. Will be back soon!

We were in the area on a late Saturday evening and we're in the mood for some sushi. Decided to try this place. When we arrived, we were greeted immediately and seated right away. It was late, so it wasn't too busy. It took us a while to order because of the large selection, but we decided to try a few things. We ordered the Ashley roll, orange roll, Sake Maki, Tonkatsu Ramen, salmon, skin hand, roll, and salmon bowl. Everything came out pretty quickly and it was very good. The prices were very reasonable here so we were happy to get a great meal for a reasonable price. My favorite was the orange roll. To sum it up, this is a great place to try out. If you're in the area, give them a try. Staff is very friendly, the restaurant is nice and clean, the bathrooms were also nice and clean, and food was delicious. We will definitely be back if we're in the area.

First time here and I can't wait to come back! Service was so nice and made sure that the rolls were free of shellfish for my friend who is allergic. Sushi was delicious too! Their happy hour ends at 6 so we missed that but I definitely want to come back for that. The spicy edamame was sooooo good too! Inside was clean and bathrooms were clean too.

Finally got to try this place! I've driven by it so many times and always wanted to try. It was a rainy day, and I wanted soup and this was yelp's first hit. Thankfully, I was also craving sushi! The service was quick, friendly, and easy. The ambiance was relaxed and family-friendly. The food was great!! My favorite was the Sunrise on Second Street roll and the spicy miso soup (tasted like tom yum!) I also got to try Ika Geso (fried squid tentacles) This will be a new sushi staple especially since it's so close to home, thank you 39 Degrees!

3.5 stars Finding a sushi spot open late in the Long Beach area is basically a quest and 39 Degrees came through. We skipped Dodger Stadium food (nothing healthy there) and decided to wait until after the game to eat, which led us here. We weren't sure about the quality at first, so we stuck with cooked options: spicy garlic edamane, volcano roll, baked green mussels, and yellowtail collar. Every single thing was surprisingly good and we even had enough leftovers for one more meal! Prices were super reasonable, parking was easy since they have a lot in the back, and the whole vibe was chill. Definitely coming back for late night sushi again.

It was my second time visiting this place. The first time, I remember enjoying their sashimi salad for lunch. This time I was with a friend that doesnt like super raw rolls so I compensated. We ordered various items and honestly I still prefer their (more) rare menu items. I didnt like their miso soup but liked their sake. Dint take pics of all orders but overall recommend this place for late night.

The food was really good. Spicy tuna roll was exceptional, I really liked the crunchy roll as well. Service was so fast and Sammie the server I had was so great, genuinely kind and happy, perfect person to match the great food! Plenty of parking in the back. Very reasonable prices. The place was clean, the ambiance was fine. I will definitely be back. Great place for lunch. Thank you!

Went to dinner tonight with our daughters, on Saturday and arrived about 5:30PM. Happy hour menu was great, and it's was available until 6PM - but our service was reallllly slow today, by the time our drink order was taken, happy hour was just about done. I can only hope it wasn't intentionally slow so we can pay full price. For starters: Spicy edamame - great taste - plenty of chili flakes - 10/10 Garlic edamame. - it's not bad - 7/10 We also tried the scallop tempera, and that was delicious. - 8/10 Main dishes: Spicy Upon Soup- chef's kiss - 10/10 BLC roll - our favorite - 10/10 Tsunami roll - 8/10 Chicken teriyaki bowl - 6/10 Chicken teriyaki plate - 6/10 My girls said the teriyaki was just OK Dessert: Strawberry Mochi - comes with 2 pieces of- 10/10 Service: Unfortunately, today it was a 7/10 The restaurant was not too busy, but the service was extremely slow. And our server was very soft spoken, so it was difficult to hear her over their music.

We came here after a walk on the beach And the food was great but the service was 10/10 the girl who helped us was so sweet and very attentive. I love that they have kids meals and good portions. We will be coming back again (:

39° isn't my favorite sushi spot in Long Beach, and it's not my second favorite either, but it is my late night go to. Most sushi spots in the area shut down around 9, maybe 10 if you're lucky, and 39° holding it down until 12 am is really the main reason I keep coming back. When that sushi craving hits at 11 pm, this is the place that actually makes sense. Do they have the best sushi in the world. No. Is it good. Yes. Is it bad. No. It's right in that middle lane. I grabbed a sunrise roll to go and that one always hits for me. Definitely one of their better specialty rolls compared to some of the others on the menu. I kept it simple with two cut rolls, one spicy salmon and one tekka maki. Both were solid, nothing mind blowing, but fresh and exactly what I needed to fix that late night craving. Service is good when I do decide to sit down there they get the food out in a reasonable time, especially for late night. Overall 39° is a solid 3 star spot for me. I wouldn't send someone here looking for the best sushi in Long Beach, but if it's after 10 pm and you want solid sushi that gets the job done this is where I'm going.

The man is consistent and that's a big part of why this place has become one of our go to spots in Long Beach. We kicked things off with quail egg shooters total umami bombs and a fun way to start the meal. From there we dove into salmon sashimi and salmon belly sashimi and both were exactly how you want them buttery, fresh, and melt in your mouth good. No fishy taste, just clean, rich flavor. For a hot bite we ordered the baked green mussels, which were a great appetizer savory, creamy, and perfect to share. Then it was roll time. We split a Double Tuna roll and the chef's special the "Sammy Delight" both were delicious as always. You can tell Sammy takes pride in his craft the flavor balance and textures on his creations always hit. We wrapped things up with a round of happy hour hand rolls, and every single one hit the spot Spicy Salmon, California, Salmon skin, and Tempura. All of them were tasty, fresh, and generously filled no skimpy rolls here even during happy hour. Service was friendly and efficient, and for the quality of fish you're getting, happy hour is a steal. Between the consistent food, the vibe at the bar, and Sammy doing his thing, this place has firmly earned its 5 stars from me. Already looking forward to the next visit.

When we arrived, we added our name to the waitlist. There was nobody ahead of us, and the system estimated a 6-16 minute wait. We checked in and waited off to the side as instructed. Over the next 30+ minutes, multiple parties arrived after us, including several parties of two and even a large party of six. Every single one of them was seated before us. When I finally asked the hostess about it, she told me they prioritize large parties first. That policy makes absolutely no sense when smaller parties have already been waiting significantly longer. By that point, we had already waited nearly double the maximum quoted time. I then asked how much longer it would be, and was told it would still be at least another 20 minutes. At that point, we were looking at almost a 50-minute wait for what was originally quoted as 6-16 minutes, despite multiple later arrivals being seated ahead of us. The issue wasn't just the wait itself -- it was the complete lack of fairness, communication, and organization. If your wait times are inaccurate and your seating system skips over customers repeatedly, you should be upfront about it instead of wasting people's time. Unfortunately, we left before even getting the chance to try the food because the customer service experience completely ruined it.

It had bits of sour notes from the apple dressing, which is different from what you normally order with poke. The avocado balances out the sourness. And the poke surprisingly pairs well with quinoa. The pork buns were really delicious! It has that umami taste you look for when eating pork. The meat was very tender - easy to bite and chew. The bun was nice and soft - had good texture.
