    Youngster Chicken Bowl
    Cindy R.

It's on the pricier end compared to where I usually go, but they are delicious and the fish is fresh! I've ordered from here twice now and have really enjoyed the flavors of the rolls; the first time I ordered the Awesome Roll along with a couple others that I don't quite remember at the moment, but I really loved the Awesome one. The kids Youngster Chicken Bowl is a good size as well. My kid really enjoyed the perfectly cooked rice and I thought it was delicious that the teriyaki chicken has bits of veggie mixed in as well. One of the rolls I ordered this time around (yesterday), the Punk roll was a no-rice roll, and it was absolutely delicious! I would order it again. Fresh pieces of fish wrapped in crab salad and rice paper. The sauces it comes topped with is supposedly spicy, but I thought it was perfect. It was a mix of chili oil, sesame oil, and mustard dressing. Let me tell you!! It was a flavor bomb. I also got an eel roll, I think it was the Black Dragon. Very delicious. I did not eat at the restaurant, so I cannot really speak on the service, but one of the staff there was kind to open the door and another inside made sure I got the utensils I needed. It does seem pretty small and in an area where parking is probably tough (I parked on the corner on red since I was just popping in and out), but I will try to make it a point to dine in sometime.

Sushi Mafia is one of my go-to sushi spots. The food is consistently fresh and delicious, and since I live close enough to walk, I order takeout pretty often. I'm happy to say it's just as good as dining in -- always prepared quickly, fresh, and packaged well. On my most recent visit I tried the fried calamari, which was excellent. It had a great crunch, wasn't chewy, and came with a really delicious sauce. For rolls, I usually stick with the California or spicy tuna, and they never disappoint. Reliable, fresh, and always satisfying.

This is a fun casual spot to enjoy some sushi and good drinks with friends. The service is EXCELLENT here. They try to make you feel at home. I came on New Years and they gave everyone a free cup of champagne to celebrate. Everyone had festive new years hats. They were all great! They have a huge menu - if you can't find something you like, you might just be too hard to please. I had the Hello Kitty Hand roll. It's almost too beautiful to eat. But it was great! A wonderful mix of great fish. And no rice, so you really focus on the fish. I also had the LB Sun roll. Also a work of art! This also doesn't have any rice. My only complaint is it was actually harder to eat than I thought it would be since it doesn't have an actual wrap around it. But if you're into sauces, the sauce on this plate is great. My plate was clean by the end of this because I wanted that sauce on every bite. They also serve ramen and sashimi which I definitely want to come back to try. Parking can be rough here since it's downtown LBC. But I eventually found a spot. And it was worth it! Definitely support this great local team business, they're a fun team!

This is officially my #1 sushi spot in LB. Freshest sushi & casual dine in. Can't beat the quality & classic roll prices. Updating my review again. We dined in on a Friday around 4pm, right before the dinner rush. Service was excellent and quick. Apps: Small salad for $3 was perfect to complement sushi. Mixed tempura with shrimp is always made to order. The batter and dip are so good. Half shell oysters have tangy ponzu. So delicious. Sushi: the classics are an unbelievable price for the quality. The fish is soft and melts in your mouth. Spicy albacore & salmon cut rolls are a must try. ANY of their fresh rolls with the mustard sauce or amazing sauce topping are FIRE. The Outlaw (baked) was so different than anything I'd ever had. It was more smoky with a barbecue flavor. Probably the Cajun seared tuna. As always, it was clean. Good for small groups (4-8 people) and parking is street. Thank you for a great meal!!!

Stopped in for happy hour on a Sunday night in June and had a very good experience. We started with a squid salad, which was cold and tasted fresh, with big strips of squid. Husband is not a fan so he had a garden salad with a nice ginger dressing. Then out came our spicy garlic edamame, delightful! For entrees, I chose two $7 hand rolls, an eel hand roll (warm) and a salmon skin hand roll extra extra crispy like bacon. Both were prepared exactly as I ordered. I did wonder why the eel roll wasn't eel cucumber or eel avocado. But rice and eel was still good! Spouse had his usual spicy California roll and enjoyed it. Small hot sake $5 sign me up! He likes the Kirin Ichiban beer but not sake. Sometimes we can even order a bomber on sale and split it. Service and ambiance were good, nothing stands out either way in my memory. I do recommend!

We tried Sushi Mafia for the first time and loved it! The pork gyoza and the tempura were hot and crispy, and the sushi rolls were excellent! Very fresh and beautifully presented. We appreciated the friendly service, great sushi, and will definitely be back next time we come to Long Beach.

Girls lunch date last Friday! First visit to Sushi Mafia and it did not disappoint! The baked mussels were absolutely superb easily the standout of the night. From the moment we walked in, the service and ambiance set a great tone for the experience. Everything felt welcoming, smooth, and well put together. The sushi rolls were just as impressive fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. But let's be real... did I mention the mussels? Perfectly seasoned, baked to perfection, and unforgettable--definitely something I'd come back for again and again without hesitation.

Great service! The fatty tuna nigiri... amazing. Food came out quick and was delicious!

Came here on a Saturday around 6pm. Ordered though and online pick up app. Once arrived food was ready quickly and staff was quick. Place had plenty of seating. But took my order to go. Ordered the spicy salmon roll. Salmon was fresh and good bite size but not spicy. Also ordered the spicy crunchy tuna roll it was spicy but the side sauce was not good. Wish it was eel sauce instead. The miso soup came hot and was good. All in all service quick and good and price was reasonable. Good for a one time try.

Delicious rolls and I ordered Tonkotsu Ramen, which was good. The Spicy Yellowtail and Godfather rolls were excellent choices! The prices were also decent.

    Little birthday ice cream surprise
    Bethany H.

First off the food is amazing. For the price, you genuinely can't beat the quality they provide. Everything I had from cut rolls, hand rolls, to nigiri was spectacular (and I've had sushi in Japan). Menu has a ton of amazing options as well if you're vegan, vegetarian or have dietary restrictions. Not to mention they do take-out. This restaurant itself is so cute, very simple besides some wall decor and wall paintings which I love, not the quietest, but I adore a good bustling sushi joint any day of the week. And the service is amazing. Attentive, courteous and kind without being overbearing. My girlfriend had been raving about this place since we started dating so I took her for her birthday. Told them in advance on Yelp when I made a reservation and they handled it all with such kindness and grace. They gave her a birthday ice cream, candle and all. But it didn't end there, they walked up and handed her a Sushi Mafia bag as a present as well!! All around one of the most memorable sushi experiences I've had. You have a new regular

I wanted to give this place 4 stars at first. Mainly bc the cuts weren't as thick as places like teburu in north Long Beach. But... every piece of fish was solid. Beer came out in a chilled glass. And the service was a solid 10 stars if I could give this place a 10. This isn't a bougie place but it def hits the spot just right. We came here on Valentine's Day and they brought out little shot classes worth of champagne for every table. Again, I can't say enough about the service. Everyone that was out was able to take your order and help. Glad we stopped by!

YUMMY YUMMY SUSHI!! I've had a California roll and salmon avocado roll before, but I've never had a spicy JJ before. Spicy tuna wrapped in a mint leaf and deep fried - I definitely recommend! The rolls were incredible, and they give complimentary miso soup too. Awesome service and diverse seating. I love the restaurant's aesthetic, and I particularly loved this painting of a sushi chef!

Yes. They have set up an area with 3-4 tables, right outside. You will probably have to wait, but it's worth it!

From what I can tell it's a lime and cilantro / very mild sauce with like maybe maybe some soy sauce ? Idk exactly but I use it for all my rolls

    It's imitation crab meat

I felt welcomed by the cool tones of the interior design and layout actually. We waited by the door as a party of two. Not too long after we entered were we greeted by the hosted and seated outdoors, as we requested. Even though it is on fourth street which has plenty of street traffic, it was still a quiet, comfortable dining experience. Every thing on the menu looked and sounded amazing but I planned to try the ramen because I've been craving a good bowl of ramen for a while. I landed on the shoyu ramen with tofu. I really enjoyed the taste of the broth. The flavor and seasoning was soul-healing. I don't usually go with plain chicken broth in ramen but I felt confident in my choice. I was literally happy dancing with each bite. The ramen was so good! My partner went with a spicy order of tonkotsu ramen with chicken, garlic, and black oil sauce. I tried parts of it and it was also delicious! I wanted to try the sushi but did not have that big of an appetite for both sushi and ramen so I opted for the salmon poke tacos. They tasted very savory and the salmon was flavored really well. The temperature and consistency was not too overwhelming for the tacos shell. The service was attentive and not too invasive. We took the check to the counter to pay. I am excited for our next trip here. It is dangerously walking distance for us! PS they have a sign that says they are hiring a dishwasher for Saturday and Sunday!

The gyoza wasn't bad overall, but the wrappers were a little too thick, the dipping sauce was forgettable, and it tasted like it may have been frozen. The spicy tonkotsu was pretty good. The spice level worked well, there was a slight hint of miso in the broth, and it was served at the right temperature. The pork belly was a little tough though. The portion reflects the price point. The place has a slightly unusual layout where the staff may not notice you immediately, but once they do, service is fast and friendly. The setup is also perfect if you enjoy sitting by the window and watching the street while you eat. Overall, Jounetsu Ramen doesn't disappoint, but compared to LA's heavy hitters, the ramen still has ways to go.

Service was excellent, food amount was generous, and taste was OK...though the KBBQ doesn't really compare well to the ones in K-Town or Garden Grove. Four of us had never been here before, so came on a Wednesday late morning, as soon as they opened at 11am. There is dedicated parking behind the restaurant, where we found spots for our two cars. We were the first customers for the day, and picked a table for six in the front. It was right next to the busy sidewalk (which folks use their bicycles and motorized scooter on), so wouldn't choose this spot next time. But since we wanted to try their KBBQ for six, it was the only spot available. The grill is a typical set-up that you can do at home, with a portable butane canister and a caldron style grill (kinda out of fashion to use as KBBQ these days, especially outside). The party let me order, so ended up getting the following. 1 Seoul Sunrise Fish Bowl ($25) - an agave infused orange, pineapple, grenadine, and soda cocktail with a whole chamisul bottle of soju. Really a nice sight that all of us tried, and we agreed that it was refreshing for a humid day like this day. Moo's Combo (Large for $140) - it had Prime Brisket, Beef Belly, ribeye bulgogi (other choice being Prime Flat Iron), prime kkotsal boneless short rib (other choice being prime marinated boneless galbi). It comes with Corn Cheese (decent), rice cake skewers (good), crispy pork dumpling (kind you buy from h-mart, and cooked well), a small pre-dressed salad, and various banchan. I asked for rice paper (which they were bigger), and each person got a series of 3 dipping sauces (none of them memorable). All the meat came at once, and had to be grilled individually. Because it was warm outside, a lot of the meat became room temperature. The meat quantity was great (more than I expected), but the quality was just OK and nobody at the table really praised the taste too much. For me, it was OK and would try something else on their menu next time. Popcorn Five Spice chicken wings ($17) - on their collaboration menu with Midnight Oil, enjoyed by my wife and her mom. Scallion Pancake ($15.99) - it was OK, a large amount with 6 generous slices...just wish it was a lot thinner, with more scallions and crispiness. 2 Orders of Busan Mackerel ($9.99 each) - I had gotten this last time, and really liked it, so wanted to share with my other Korean dining partners. It was just OK this time, not as crispy as before. Note that it has a lot of pin bones that weren't all removed. We were able to refill the banchan and I took advantage for my favorites. I really like the kimchi here, and will always eat a lot of the fish cake (which I really like here). They use Toast as the POS, and the large bill was accurate, including a 18% gratuity since we were a party of six. What I really liked about it, was that even though it was very slow (we were the only customers dining in so early in the afternoon), the service and food quality was the same as what I would expect at a busier time. And their menu is as diverse and varied as any I've seen at Korean restaurants. Overall a good experience: would try their lunch specials next time, sitting inside.

Pad See ew had such a good wok fry essence. So flavorful, and perfect blend of savory and slight sweetness. Chinese broccoli nicely wok fried. The shrimp was jumbo and so succulent. Salmon Larb was perfectly cooked with fried cubes of juicy flavorful salmon. Tossed in fresh mint, cilantro, scallions, a ton of fresh lime juice, chili flakes, red onions and lettuce. The toasted rice powder was definitely apparent as every Larb dish should have. Slightly different take of Larb, bit more modernized and tweaked cause definitely a salad with the lettuce versus served with the cabbage and cucumber on the side. I don't think you can go wrong with what you order. Definitely fusion of authentic with a modernized American feel. I came at a later time in the evening so there were plenty of seats available. The menu is extensive and there SO many options to choose from so you'll never get bored coming here. Apple was our server today and she is so amazing. She was incredibly friendly and my daughter had fun talking with her. Apple gave us plenty of time to review our options and answered all the questions I had about the menu. She really brightens up the place and makes you feel at home. Our food came in a timely manner and all the items came one by one but with very short arrival times between them so we got to eat together. Apple checked on us a great amount of times to make sure we got what we needed and brought us the little extras we asked for quickly. They even celebrated my birthday even though it was a couple days after. You really feel cared for here. We used to be addicted to the Giraffe Ramen location in Long Beach and would order various times in the week. I'm so glad to see them come up and expand their restaurant to include a dine in area. Pricing is fair and the taste incredible. With a lot of ramen places, its hard to get what you pay for, but HERE, you get a lot more. Pro tip: ask for a container as soon as youre done eating so your ramen doesnt get taken away. I learned the hard way

I went to the pickup location and found out it's a ghost kitchen which I'm totally fine with. Went in and picked up my order. Inside has lockers and a window which I picked up my order from. The lady didn't say anything just looked at my order on my phone and handed it to me. It was packaged nicely and had everything I needed in the bag. It was pretty spicy yet very flavorful. Good portion of noodles which is always the one thing I run out of first with ramens. I'd definitely order again when I have a ramen craving!
