My first time to Rakkan Ramen and it was Rakkan! We went for DineLA restaurant week menu and it was an incredible deal! The spicy cucumbers were good but they are cut pretty thick, wish they were cut slimmer but they were tasty! The hand rolls were really good. I had the spicy salmon and the scallop which were tasty. The ramen came out and by that time I was already getting full so I ate as much as I could. The spicy was definitely a low medium I'd say so if you want a little kick but not the super spicy, get the regular spicy level and it should work out. The coffee dessert was interesting. We all got it instead of half getting the coffee dessert and the other half getting the mochi haha. I'm sure the dessert is loved by a lot of folks but we just didn't care for it. The service was good and friendly. Inside dining area was relaxing and comfortable vibe.

RAKKAN Ramen absolutely knocked it out of the park. Went on a rainy night with my family and it was perfect timing. The place felt cozy the second we walked in. Steam rising from the pots, broths boiling, warmth moving through the whole restaurant while it poured outside. It just hit. Now the ramen. Damn. Some of the best broth I have ever had. Deep, rich, and insanely flavorful. Shrimpy and garlicky in the best way, with layers that make you stop after the first sip because you know this is the real deal. You can tell real care goes into it. Service was quick and easy, but the food is the real star. Comforting, bold, and straight up delicious. This is the kind of spot you crave on a cold or rainy night, or honestly any night when you want something that hits. We will definitely be back.

Rakkan orginated in Tokyo, so I was eager to try. I called Rakkan on Tuesday, 12/30/25 to confirm they were open on New Year's Day and checked their website, which also stated normal operating hours. Both were incorrect. I checked Google on the 1st and it said they opened at 3, which was indeed correct when I arrived at the restaurant. The Quartz Spicy Ramen egg was cold, but the broth and lean chicken helped redeem previous issues. I ordered Chashu on the side for more protein and it was the right choice. The bowl is made with a vegetable broth, so it was way lighter than Tonkotsu. I think the star of the show was the small Karaage that came with a "buffalo sauce". That combination was extremely delicious! Lastly, Valeriia did a great job as hostess and waitress!

Came here to do the dine LA. It was $35 person and it comes with a 4 course meal & drinks! You get an appetizer, 2 hand rolls, ramen, & dessert! For the appetizer we got the edamame and spicy cucumber. Both excellent. The hand rolls I got a spicy salmon avocado, salad, green, and California hand roll. The spicy avocado was a 7/10, salad was a 6/10, green was a 6/10, California was a 8/10. I feel the there was more rice than the toppings it was suppose to have. Still overall pretty good! As for the ramen I got the quartz mild and honestly I can say I've had way better ramen. I'd rate their ramen a 6/10. I've came here before, maybe 3 years ago and their ramen was pretty good! But as of last night it was ehhhh. Desserts were both a 10/10. Tokyo drift that came with coffee jelly & coconut milk, and the matcha mochi ice cream! Service- they were fast with the food! Friendly as welll. Ambiance, lots of seating inside.

It was very busy, but the wait time wasn't too bad. The service is fast, kind, and professional. I ordered the Furikake fries and takoyaki as an appetizer. I've had better fries; they were low-key mid. I really enjoyed the takoyaki. The creamy quartz ramen was sooo delicious! Hands down, one of the best ramen broths I've ever had. I'll definitely be back.

Second visit on a Sunday: 2/10 Experience GARNET clearly missing pork in bowl
Lexie A.

Very disappointed to be writing this review because the first time I visited it was an AMAZING experience. The food itself was amazing no complaints. We got the Garnet and Quartz extra spicy. We also got the Karaage chicken appetizer that was to dieeee for!! Unfortunately though, my Garnet was missing the pork that comes in the ramen and I didn't notice until I was already home.. Very unfortunate and careless. Besides that our server was nice don't get me wrong but not attentive at all. She took our order and was very nice but after that it's like she forgot about us and would pass by us multiple times like she wasn't our server at all. We tried to get her attention multiple times but it didn't work out. We had asked her for waters for the table and they never came until we had to ask a guy behind the counter. We didn't get our waters until the end of our meal. It was so hard to get any help. We also asked for garlic for the ramen multiple times and never got it until we were already finished with our food. So disappointing.. Overall it just seemed like we were being ignored and not helped at all. I really enjoy the ramen here all the food is amazing and I would recommend to others if the service would improve. The service is a huge part of the experience not just the food. Maybe 2 servers should be working on a busy Sunday and not just 1...

Vegan Ramen now at a new (to us) location! The ramen is super savory and amazing for what we were looking for -- a restaurant that is yummy and good with veggies. We asked for an outdoor seating, and while the bar next door was a bit loud, it was great eating and enjoying the ramen while watching the bar hoppers with our dogs. Definitely will be coming around again when we are in the area!

I was too hungry I forgot to take a pic of the food lol! Service was amazing and made the experience better! Went on 6/3/25, a Tuesday, and it was a bit busy. However we got sat almost right away:) The portions were a bit small compared to what I'm used to at my go to ramen spot but the flavor makes up for it! I love ramen so any ramen spot I go to gets a thumbs up from me!

Bruh!!!!! That was fire. The best Ramen i've tasted period. Well done Chef!! Great location and ambiance is amazing as well as the staff.

Service Riley (spelling) was outstanding!!! Riley was engaging and attentive, calm even through a Busy late night dinner rush. Ambience was nice and chill -- sitting in a booth I had definitely forgot how full the space was. ALSO, each employee worked together as a team, seamlessly. Food came out quickly and fresh - apps & entrees all nice and hot - just what we were hoping for after a long, rainy day at Disneyland. Check this place out for sure next time you're looking for a late dinner!!! Thank you guys again!!!

i hadn't been here in a while but i'm happy to report that their quality remains almost as good as when they first opened i got the spicy garnet vegan - which i thought it came with tofu bc the picture is misleading. i got tofu on the side to add and it was only a dollar to do so. the broth was so good! i also got sushi combo so i got salmon nigiri. salmon was very pale pink - which was odd bc i'm so used to seeing bright orange in salmon. the fish tasted fresh but the rice was all wrong im also realizing that it's not such a great deal to get this bc the nigiri is like 4.50 (as the ramen is 18) - the combo is 22.50.. so it's a regular/competitive price for nigiri at other places. would recommend getting sushi somewhere else. they were playing some awful top 40 trash music which was whatever and ruined my vibe. service was slow but everyone was very nice.

We came for a late lunch and even though it wasn't busy, the service was a bit slow but still very nice. I actually had the Dine LA deal for lunch and the deal was super solid! You get edamame, hand roll, ramen, dessert plus drink for only $35! Overall a solid deal and everything was flavorful. My only dings were that I wished the roll had crispier seaweed since it got chewy and the tokyo drip was more on the bitter end with the coffee. But everything else was great!

Emily T.

I would say this is above average ramen. I think the broth is seasoned well and the noodles are prepared nicely but the chicken topping is super weird. It's SUPER chewy, almost hard and difficult to bite/break off. I almost thought it was uncooked by its texture but it was indeed cooked. I took one bite of one piece and couldn't eat the rest of the chicken slides. Aside from the chicken being weird, I would say the ramen itself was pretty good. Service was prompt and simple. They are quick to remove your dish when you're done and refill your water when it's empty without asking. Parking can be difficult due to the location but it's not terribly difficult to find street parking especially on a weekday.

Seats do not have back support in case that is something you're looking forward to It took about 3 minutes for the appetizers to come out and then 9 minutes after that for the ramen. The water is fused with a fruit. This time it was watermelon mint. We tried the tonkatusu and shoys. Both tasted great. The shoya had a meatier tasting broth whereas the other was thicker and a bit creamier. We also tried the pork buns. They were soft and suppose. The meat was tender. The buns would have been less moist since it made it a tad bit soggy. But nonetheless it was still very good. The crispy rice with spicy tuna was shocking. It was so good. I hate tuna but this was very good. It wasn't fishy at all and had such a great umami taste to it all I would totally recommend this place to someone who wants a simple ramen menu that is priced around $20 per entree. The wait can get about an hour or more on the weekend but if you come during the week try to get there before 7pm. The only down side is they add a service charge to your bill. On their menu it's scratched out that you can take it off the bill. I think this is their way of tipping their servers but considering it's 17% is pretty hefty if you have a large bill. From a bill of about $35 it was a $5 service fee charge.

We ordered via third party app because the preparation of the poke sounded intriguing and different. The food came in cute packaging. When we opened the containers, in my opinion there was too much rice/quinoa to fish portion. I did enjoy the taste of the poke. It had bits of sour notes from the apple dressing, which is different from what you normally order with poke. The avocado balances out the sourness. And the poke surprisingly pairs well with quinoa. The pork buns were really delicious! It has that umami taste you look for when eating pork. The meat was very tender - easy to bite and chew. The bun was nice and soft - had good texture. And the onions that came on it was good. You don't get that oniony, bitter taste that lingers in your mouth. Overall, I enjoyed the food. Poke was good but idk if I'd order it again because the rice-fish portions are off. But I definitely need to try the ramen cos I know that's what they're known for.

If you're looking for a solid Thai spot in Long Beach, this has become one of our family's feel…read moregood go to places. Every dish we've tried has been full of flavor and genuinely worth ordering. Surprisingly, compared to other Thai spots, it's usually not overly packed and honestly I'm almost scared to say that because I don't want it to change. The service has always been great, the food comes out quickly, and the portions/prices feel reasonable. So far, our favorites have been the pad see ew, tom yum soup (medium spice), egg fried rice, fried calamari and the beef BBQ which was so good we immediately ordered a second plate. The mango sticky rice is also really good, but the portion is on the smaller side, so we ended up getting two orders since one plate is hard to share with more than 2-3 people. Parking has been easy for us so far since there's both a parking lot and nearby street parking. Definitely one of our favorite restaurants that's officially in our regular rotation.

KIN Thai Cuisine in Long Beach off Broadway is a really solid spot…read more Parking is available, but it is limited, so just keep that in mind depending on the time you go. The restaurant itself is nice and clean, including the restrooms, which I always appreciate. The staff was very customer service oriented and did a great job making suggestions and giving tips about the menu and spice levels, which was super helpful. I started with the Money Bags, which are basically fried dumplings. Mine were a little overcooked, almost close to burnt. They still had decent flavor, but I'd personally rate them about a 2.9 out of 5. I also had the green papaya salad with mild spice, and the spice level was perfect, especially for people who are sensitive to heat. I usually stick around medium spice at Thai restaurants, but even the mild here still gives you a nice kick. For my drink, I got the Thai tea, which came topped with a Thai tea popsicle that slowly melted into the drink. Such a cute touch, creative, and tasty. For my entrée, I had the basil garlic sauce with sliced steak and a side of rice, which I really enjoyed. For dessert, we shared the mango sticky rice. It was good, but I do feel like it was a little overpriced for the portion size. Maybe part of that is because of the specialty rice they use that has the purple hue. I know a few places in Long Beach where you can get more for the same price. That said, the presentation was really cute with the flower garnish and everything looked beautiful. The atmosphere was nice. It has an open kitchen concept, so you can actually see the cooking happening, which adds to the experience. Seating is somewhat limited and the tables are fairly close together in certain sections, especially where the divider walls are, so you can definitely hear nearby conversations depending on where you sit. Great food, clean restaurant, and strong customer service. I'd definitely come back. Flavor Profile (for reference): Umami-forward (savory, salty depth) Acidic or bright (tangy + sour) Pungent and intense (spicy and bitter notes) Drink Preference (for reference): Bitter-forward cocktails Balanced acidity Light sweetness only, not overly sugary

It wasn't too spicy but I could also do without it because it was more of a numbing rather than flavorful spice. The regular noodles are a little thin but they're plentiful! There was a part that was kind of clumped together in my soup though. The broth was more just savory and salty but nothing really stood out as miso or anything different. I appreciate that they have a fair amount of bok choy and bean sprouts. And the tofu was really good too! It was covered in tempura so was almost agedashi-like but they only did give 2 pieces.
