Great service from owners. Food is fresh and delicious. Sushi is great but really love their chicken and beef teriyaki plate. Awesome

First time trying this place after searching nearby for some sushi. My boyfriend and I really enjoyed the food. It was delicious and the edamame was our favorite part. We already have plans to come again and try the Shocking Lobster and Gyoza. They do not sell fountain drinks but they have a big selection of drinks to choose from. Service was great and the host/cashier was attentive and nice. We ordered at the front then sat down to wait for the food and it was later brought to us. It was empty when we arrive but slowly picked up with people. There's plenty of room to sit and it's a cute little spot. I would recommend this place to anyone in the area. read more

Came during lunch time. The food was pretty good. The place itself was hot, they had the door open so flies were all over the place. The lady who rang us up was annoyed we stayed for seating. Felt more like a pick up your food and go place. Don't even try to use the bathroom, they have like 3 signs saying don't poop there . If you're doing Take-out it's good, if you're trying to sit down and enjoy your meal go elsewhere. read more

My family and I have eaten at Akii Sushi many times. This restaurant does not disappoint. It's a small spot filled with big flavors. Everything from the sushi and hand rolls, to the rice bowls and udon is delicious. Service is great, and food presentation is fantastic. This is a great little place to stop in to have a tasty meal. There are many nonalcoholic beverages, bottled beers, as well as sake available for purchase as well. read more

This review is for a pick up order I placed tonight. I won't return. This is the first time I've ever felt hesitant about the raw fish I just ate, first piece I had was just a little off then I had a tuna nigiri to give it another shot, and it was SO extremely fishy. Furthermore, I had ordered a sushi + roll combo with a spicy tuna roll but I got a California roll instead. We get take out all the time and I ate this almost immediately after I picked up, so it's not a matter of the food sitting out for too long. read more

Cool little sushi shop in a random little plaza right smack on Wardlow and cherry . I believe it's all other food places here in this small plaza so there is parking available to patrons. I have been here on 3 different occasions & have done both dine in & take out ! Usually a creature of habit so have got basically the same thing every time and it's been the crunch roll , gyozas, & miso soup & they smack every time. Service here is good , it's always the same lady and she's very nice. I've noticed they have lunch specials but have not come on during those times ! Plenty of room to dine in . Very nice and neat in there ! read more

First class service. The staff is very attentive, food was delicious and served quickly. Nice place to have lunch. Would recommend to anyone

Restaurant is accessible from freeways, no issues finding parking on a Saturday night. Located just off Cherry street. Food was amazing! We ordered several rolls and nigiris, as well as some miso soups. We were satisfied with the amount of food as well as quality. Food came fast, we did not wait long despite being a party on the larger size (7 people). I highly recommend Akii Sushi! Staff were very friendly, space is clean, and prices are very affordable. The next time I'm in the area, I'd come back again. read more

Come on all the time for their lunch special. chicken teriyaki plate is great and filling. Great value and great service!

Drove Past This Place Too Many Times, So My Husband And I Finally Decided To Give It A Try. The Place Is A Bit Small But Welcoming. I Don't Like The Fact That We Have To Order And Pay At The Front Before Being Seated. Been To A Different Sushi Place That Did The Same And Had A Horrible Experience But I'm So Happy That This Place Didn't Disappoint ! I Ordered The Angry Roll And Sunset Roll. I Love Spicy Sushi And Their Angry Roll Was The Spiciest Sushi I Have Ever Had. It's So Delicious ! The Sunset Roll Was Also Delicious And It Help Calm Down The Spiciness Going On In My Mouth LOL.... My Husband Ordered The Beef Teriyaki. He Said It Was A Bit Too Dry. He Won't Be Having That Again... I Would Defiantly Be Back Again But My Husband Would Have To Try Something Else On Their Menu read more

loved this spot!! It's a very intimate space tucked away off Cherry, but don't let that deter you. The service was so friendly and welcoming and the food was great. I came in with 7 friends and even though there's not a lot of seating inside, they helped accommodate our large party and got us seated right away. We ordered a lot of sushi, some rolls, and some starters (the tempura was great, and the chicken wings were actually SOO good and super juicy and tender) and the food came out pretty quickly too. The fish was really fresh and the proportions of fish to rice was perfect. The rice texture and flavor was really nice too. Would definitely recommend this spot if you're craving sushi in the area! read more

Came here with a group of 7 friends and we had a great experience! We got seated and received our food very quickly. We ordered a variety of rolls, sashimi, chicken wings, miso soup, and tempura. Everything was delicious and flavorful! The location is a little lowkey tucked away but I would def recommend this for lunch or dinner! Parking was easy since there is a lot in front of the restaurant as well. read more

What a sleeper!! Such a small unassuming location with BIG flavor and BIG personality! The only thing better than the sushi was the staff! Food was delicious and the food was served in a very timely manner. We ordered the Philadelphia roll with a teriyaki chicken plate. The plate was enough for two! After waiting in a short line, the cashier explained the lunch specials and gave a nice warning about the heat on the angry roll - I almost changed my mind. The restaurant space is cozy and decorated with real plants, but wasn't crowded. I started with a delightfully stuffed fried jalapeño followed by the 6 piece garlic chicken wings - crispy, somewhat sweet, and well-seasoned. The angry roll was indeed spicy (not overwhelming) and delicious! Typically sushi can be too rich for me, but I was able to eat the entire roll without issue. The tuna portion was generous to the degree that it was enjoyable and filling. There was a strong selection of sake, beers, and soft drinks - I chose Sapporo. Other diners ordered several entrees that I'll have to try on another visit. read more

Location: This place is in a tiny busy center with other food places. Parking: They have parking, but during the lunch hour can be a bit hectic. Food: I ordered to go since it was my lunch hour, and I needed to head back. The order process was easy and fast. I ordered the salmon plate. It came with salad, gyoza, white rice, and California roll. The salmon wasn't anything special, and I will admit I'm very picky when it comes to salmon, so please keep that in mind. It was bland; it had no flavor whatsoever. The gyoza was okay, and the California roll was OK, too. I didn't try the salad. Service: The lady who took my order was pleasant and quickly took my order. However, once my order was packed and ready, I asked for hot sauce and was told it would be 25 cents. I didn't have it, so I told her never mind. She gave it to me anyway. Once I returned to my desk, I noticed the container with the hot sauce was half empty. (See picture) I mean, I get not giving utensils or sauces unless requested, but come on! If you are going to charge me, you better give me an entire container of what I'm PAYING you! This annoyed me for sure. I will try this place again, but it will be a while. read more

This was dinner tonight. 09/27/22. It was good! Party of 3. We ordered the following: Garlic chicken wings. They had a great crispness to it. The flavor wasn't saturated in if that makes sense. It's like they just put garlic on top of the wings. 3/5 Edemame. Could've used a little more salt. And no, there was no table salt and yes we could've asked for salt but we didn't. 4/5 Mix tempura. Shrimp, yam, broccoli, squash and a russet potato. Lol 4/5 California rolls 8 pcs x 2. They were Cali rolls. They satisfied my daughters craving. 5/5 Crunchy roll. The pieces were a little too big but they were good. 4/5 Lobster roll. Great presentation and it was good but a little overwhelming with the sauces - Mayo and eel sauce. 4/5 Overall, the fam and I were satisfied. The staff was very nice and polite. They offered complimentary rice balls that were really good! We will definitely be back but not anytime soon. I think we ordered too much tonight and are on sushi overload! read more

This place has probably one of the best sushi rolls I've ever had (the other being quite far from me)! It's a good sign when every roll you order turns out to be super delicious. We went on a Saturday night and the place was pretty much empty, so I was surprised. It's also a bit small, but this seems like the kind of place where people go to on their lunch break, rather than a sit-down restaurant? You order by coming to the counter in the front, and then they bring it to you wherever you're seated. The lady at the counter was super kind, and she gave me and my boyfriend a free appetizer while we were waiting for our food. I forgot what it was, but it was so good! We ordered the Hawaiian, Tiger, Baked Salmon, and Hot Night rolls if I am remembering this correctly. The baked salmon roll was my favorite one! There was so much flavor in all of these rolls. It was a lot for the two of us so we had to take some to-go, and I was pleasantly surprised that the lady from the counter even put in our rolls in the to-go box for us! Most places I go to, you always do it yourself. So I thought the service here was amazing. I'll definitely come back. read more

On a hunt to try a new Sushi spot in LB, we found this hidden spot. Here was our experience Parking: Plaza parking was pretty small with room for about 10-12 cars. Seating: Inside seating and counter seating good for small groups or individuals. Feels: This is not your popular touristy area of Long Beach. It's moreover your casual blind spots of the city. It's a really small plaza with a few eateries. The spot itself is pretty small and intimate. It's decorated with Japanese Kimono pictures and a TV with the food. It's not a sushi bar but they do their best to provide that connection with the customers and services. Great for a quick grab-and-go or low-key spot. FOOD: Rainbow Roll (Recommend) Wonderful. A great classic roll with various fresh fish flavors and a reasonable serving. Garlic Chicken Wings Deelish! They said it was their most popular and I could see why, it was calmly breaded yet juicy. The fried garlic gave it a good kick. CUSTOMER SERVICE: Great! Warm welcomes and follow-ups throughout our time there. :) TL; DR OVERALL: 4.5 Stars. Super! Steady amount of food items, reasonable price, and good food. It's a small spot but they do their best to make it comfortable and a good hideaway from the touristy spots of Long Beach. Tips: * Not only sushi spot but Ramen as well (Must come back and try). read more

Horrible service. The old lady served people who got here after us while leaving us with no water or utensils. Had to ask for every little thing. Dirty tables as well. Sticky and gross. Hole in the wall sushi joint in a tiny plaza. Amazing quality fish and great customer service! Didn't expect that quality of service for a place where you order up front. I ordered the albacore delight and mixed tempura. The albacore delight was extremely good! Huge fan of spicy tuna and it was loaded with it. Mixed tempura was fried extremely well and crispy without it being burnt. Will definitely come back to try out their other rolls! Everything sounded too good.
