    Salmon Sampler

I feel like the sushi keeps getting better here, we try other spots like I Luv Sushi or when traveling and when we come back here it's like wow this is really good. The presentation is great too. Plenty of parking, a great happy hour 3-7 and lots of other options for people who don't like sushi. Their mango sticky rice when available is also amazing. Service is always quick and pleasant. If you're looking for uncrowded and unpretentious sushi that tastes like it should be pretentious, this is the place. Had the salmon sampler and some unagi both were delicious.

My husband and I went to around Long Beach, looking for a hidden gem in Signal Hills. One block of the place, we found this restaurant. They have tables outside. The restaurant is really cool inside, we stayed out because our dog with us. The service is very friendly, fast, and food is great! They have Thai and Japanese plates. Good deals in the menu. They have parking lot, because it is hard to park around.

The food is very tasty, went at happy hour so tried their small ramen options and rolls, unique Thai soup base flavor and very interesting touch, a fusion of Japanese and Thai :) Service is decently on point and reasonable fast, can bring some sauces before hand to accelerate the process also but overall very attentive! Ambiance is like a normal diner with some cute Asian design and paintings, pretty relaxing and good to have conversations, some restaurants are too nosy to chat, this place offers a good place to social while having some unique and tasty food!

Decided to give this place a try as it was a Japanese Thai fusion. It wasn't busy at the time of arrival so service was speedy and the staff were attentive and friendly. The place is big that is great for large parties and it was festive just in time for the holidays. I had the Tom Kha ramen and the King of Kings roll during happy hour. The ramen was average nothing really stood out in the dish, but the King of Kings roll was full of flavor. If you're looking to try something new, give this place a try.

My Husband And I First Time Here. We Ordered The Red Curry With Rice, Dragon Roll, King Of King, Tuna, Salmon, Mackerel & Yellowtail Nigiri. Everything Was Edible But Didn't Give Me That Satisfaction I Was Craving For. Service Was Great But She Did Forget One Of My Order Which Was The Sashimi Mix, But It Was Ok I Just Asked Her To Canceled It From The Check. Would I Eat Here Again, No But It's Great For People Who's Exploring Sushi For The First Time.

I'be been coming here many times, and ever since I tried the miso ramen it's been my absolute favorite. The flavor is the best ever rich, comforting, and so delicious. This place never disappoints!

I allowed myself to get carried away by all the enthusiastic reviews, so I arrived with high expectations. I eagerly anticipated the Thai ramen to blow me away, but I stayed put. What's equally unexpected was how good the sweet mango rice was. I am glad that my son ordered that dessert for us to share. The ramen wasn't bad, but I expected more from the broth. It's easy to get ramen at many places in Long Beach, but ramen with a Thai twist was certainly novel. I was hoping for more exotic spices, and it came up more mundane. I also expected more customers on a Sunday evening, but the relatively large indoor dining area only had a few tables occupied. I think the post-pandemic surge in restaurant dining has significantly ebbed. Service was both attentive and efficient. We placed our orders right away, and we didn't have to wait long for our food. There was plenty of parking in their private lot, but making a left turn going westbound from PCH could get a bit tricky.

Came here on a Saturday around 3:30pm to pick up from mobile order. Parking lot available. No wait to get my food. Plenty of space to sit and service was quick and friendly! Ordered the wonton soup it was tasty broth had flavor and shrimp were big. Also got the crunch roll it was filling and tasted fresh. Thai tea was on the sweeter side but good. Overall, would come again to try other thing on the menu!

    Tom Kha Ramen

My friends and I stumbled upon this place while looking for a restaurant to grab some ramen for late lunch. Shin was amazing! I highly recommend their Tom Kha ramen and their sushi. We have since gone several times, and every time (including late at night) our server was also very accommodating.

Tom yum ramen was so good!!! Perfect blend of Japanese and Thai flavors. Quick and friendly service too. I will be back to try the Tom kha!!

    Chicken Katsu Don Bowl

Had a great experience at Shin Restaurant. The service was friendly, the restaurant was clean, and the food did not disappoint. We ordered the chicken katsu don bowl and Tom Kha ramen, both full of flavor. But the real surprise was the yellowtail hand roll--fresh, delicious, and sneaky good! Easily one of the best I've had in Long Beach, and this place can hold its own against any local sushi spot. Highly recommend checking it out!

I've been going to Shin before they became Shin. It was my go to sushi spot 10 years ago and so happy I got to experience it with my son who has been curious about this place. The restaurant is an establishment on its own with their own parking lot. It's not in a plaza shared with other businesses which I can appreciate because I don't come across many restaurants like this. There's plenty of seatings outdoor and indoor. Their restroom needs a little TLC. I love that they offer Happy Hour 3p-7p. My son and I ordered the cheese wontons which was completely different than what I was expecting which was the cream cheese wontons. These wontons were made with actual cheese and tempura. We ordered the 3 roll $35 combo and ordered crunchy, super cal and king of kings - we were pleased with all. We got the pleasure of being served by Tammy who I recognized from years ago. She offers great customer service, very accommodating.

This place is highly underrated because they produce very good sushi. Its in no way authentic to Japan, but its the type of sushi you want when you need your fix. Our poke bowl was complete with a generous portion of thick cubes of fish. Its felt simple, its no frills, and the interior has a wooden rustic charm.

It was a great one and I was very pleased with it…read more The parking was a little confusing as there was construction going on in the back area where parking and the front entrance is. It shares parking with a couple other business and the entrance is just off the alleyway off Carson. Construction in the back did halt some of the parking spaces and entrance on one side. I didn't know where the entrance was walking around the block which found out later that the entrance was where parking is. I believe you could get on the waitlist but it was still early during lunch time when we arrived that it wasn't necessary. The restaurant itself isn't that big. A good amount of Asian modern style seating. Menu is pretty limited but gets down to the punch. Ramen, a couple of rice dishes and starters. Basically it. They had some alcoholic drink options too. We started off with some beers, the crispy chicken which was really nice. Thick chunks of thighs lightly deep fried and served with a dipping sauce. Juicy and tender. Entrees, the tonkatsu which you could make into a combo that comes with a side salad, and with salmon poke bowl or spicy tuna bowl for an additional fee. The broth for the ramen was quite tasty and paired really well with everything that added to it. And very filling. Also had the pork rice bowl with pork chashu, green onions, poached egg, spinach on top of rice. That was quite tasty and filling as well. There's a small and large option. Lastly the vegan ramen with sesame miso broth, broccolini, corn, bean sprouts, soy meat, tofu, baby kale with chili oil. Food was quite tasty and very filling. Service was great with friendly staff. Didn't take long for the items to arrive. The place isn't that big so it does get busy.

We ordered via third party app because the preparation of the poke sounded intriguing and different. The food came in cute packaging. When we opened the containers, in my opinion there was too much rice/quinoa to fish portion. I did enjoy the taste of the poke. It had bits of sour notes from the apple dressing, which is different from what you normally order with poke. The avocado balances out the sourness. And the poke surprisingly pairs well with quinoa. The pork buns were really delicious! It has that umami taste you look for when eating pork. The meat was very tender - easy to bite and chew. The bun was nice and soft - had good texture. And the onions that came on it was good. You don't get that oniony, bitter taste that lingers in your mouth. Overall, I enjoyed the food. Poke was good but idk if I'd order it again because the rice-fish portions are off. But I definitely need to try the ramen cos I know that's what they're known for.

Every dish we've tried has been full of flavor and genuinely worth ordering. Surprisingly, compared to other Thai spots, it's usually not overly packed and honestly I'm almost scared to say that because I don't want it to change. The service has always been great, the food comes out quickly, and the portions/prices feel reasonable. So far, our favorites have been the pad see ew, tom yum soup (medium spice), egg fried rice, fried calamari and the beef BBQ which was so good we immediately ordered a second plate. The mango sticky rice is also really good, but the portion is on the smaller side, so we ended up getting two orders since one plate is hard to share with more than 2-3 people. Parking has been easy for us so far since there's both a parking lot and nearby street parking. Definitely one of our favorite restaurants that's officially in our regular rotation.

KIN Thai Cuisine in Long Beach off Broadway is a really solid spot…read more Parking is available, but it is limited, so just keep that in mind depending on the time you go. The restaurant itself is nice and clean, including the restrooms, which I always appreciate. The staff was very customer service oriented and did a great job making suggestions and giving tips about the menu and spice levels, which was super helpful. I started with the Money Bags, which are basically fried dumplings. Mine were a little overcooked, almost close to burnt. They still had decent flavor, but I'd personally rate them about a 2.9 out of 5. I also had the green papaya salad with mild spice, and the spice level was perfect, especially for people who are sensitive to heat. I usually stick around medium spice at Thai restaurants, but even the mild here still gives you a nice kick. For my drink, I got the Thai tea, which came topped with a Thai tea popsicle that slowly melted into the drink. Such a cute touch, creative, and tasty. For my entrée, I had the basil garlic sauce with sliced steak and a side of rice, which I really enjoyed. For dessert, we shared the mango sticky rice. It was good, but I do feel like it was a little overpriced for the portion size. Maybe part of that is because of the specialty rice they use that has the purple hue. I know a few places in Long Beach where you can get more for the same price. That said, the presentation was really cute with the flower garnish and everything looked beautiful. The atmosphere was nice. It has an open kitchen concept, so you can actually see the cooking happening, which adds to the experience. Seating is somewhat limited and the tables are fairly close together in certain sections, especially where the divider walls are, so you can definitely hear nearby conversations depending on where you sit. Great food, clean restaurant, and strong customer service. I'd definitely come back. Flavor Profile (for reference): Umami-forward (savory, salty depth) Acidic or bright (tangy + sour) Pungent and intense (spicy and bitter notes) Drink Preference (for reference): Bitter-forward cocktails Balanced acidity Light sweetness only, not overly sugary
