    scallion pancake

We came around 5pm and were seated right away. Parking was easy too as this place is located in a shopping area. The dan mein spare rib noodles were amazing! My favorite. We also had the crab fried rice, scallion pancakes, and 2 different types of xiao long bao. Everything was delicious and perfect. Things came out quickly and were hot. The scallion pancakes were nice and crispy. Id definitely come back even if its just for the noodles. We had a little left over and it was still delicious the next day.

5 out of 5 experience. Janelle treated the wife and I great. Food was so tasty and enjoyed every bite. Loved the setting too. Can't wait to go again.

*Love* that they have half portions so I can try dishes without committing to a full portion I tried: Pickled cucumber $5 yummy String beans $10 yummy (my fav of the 3) Sesame noodles -$9. Wasn't a fan Next time: - Soup dumplings (the guys next to me were putting the hand made chili oil on everything) -oxtail soup $10 half portion -short rib dan mein Service was great and they have outdoor seating so you can people view while eating Right next to bathrooms and Italian homemade company and across from ice cream (van leeuwen)* might be misspelling ;) Def a fun place to try dishes by yourself or w friends

Such a solid restaurant. Every time I go, I'm pleased with the food. It's very modern and very Long Beach, but at the same time, it doesn't take away from how good the food is. The dumplings are really good and the service on top of it all makes every visit worth while. Highly recommend.

My sister was craving Din Thai but we didn't want to drive to Costa Mesa as we were already in the plaza. We tried this place for the first time and WOW soooo impressed. While this place is missing a full bar and dessert options, it kinda makes up for it with this scallion pancake. I could eat a truck load of that let me tell you. I will absolutely be back. Service was quick and the waiter was very nice. Great location for shopping and grabbing a good meal. Get a cocktail menu and chocolate dumplings pleassse

First time to this area in a long time!!! Wow has Long Beach changed!!! This new center was high end and reminded me of Pacific City in Huntington Beach. We were starving and the yelp reviews looked good for Dan Modern Chinese. We loved everything we ordered!! For a group of 5, the portions were split perfectly with 5 dumplings per order. Our favorites were the green beans, juicy dumplings and anything with the shirt rib, it was cooked so perfectly!! Service was so attentive, they have multiple servers service each table to grab away dishes quickly as the empty.

We came here to explore the marine area and Naples island and decided to try Dan as I was craving some dumplings. Overall I would say, nice modern space. The food was average tasting, but the menu had items that are my usual go to favorites. A bit in the pricier side but expected for this area. Good service. Please come and create your own adventure.

5 soup dumplings for 10 bucks

If you're looking for a dintaifung dupe, this is similar but not totally it. The soup dumplings are good but the portions are weird. You can buy 3 or 5 dumplings (those are weird numbers). Most place sell ten as standard. The soup dumplings skin is good here, thin and holds well. Their steamed dumplings though, felt like frozen premade dumpling skins. They were tough. Sesame noodles lacked flavor but if you ask for some chili oil and add in some vinegar and soy sauce it's improved for sure. The Chinese chicken salad was a seasonal dish and we enjoyed this one. Overall the food is ok and kinda expensive for what it is.

It seemed slow but our hostess said they were busier than expected , probably because it was a Tuesday. There were some people but nothing crazy Our server was great from start to finish and helped up decide on what to get an how much of it since portioning is different here. The portions are shareable but nothing too crazy. Which was good as well as the price, which got me wanting to order more of different things to try out for everyone. This is place to go with more than just one or two. You can still very much enjoy it but a couple more people , whom are willing to share of course will help you get an idea of what to get. From what we ordered everything was good, something more than other. But surprisingly the seaweed salad I very much enjoyed as well as the broth to the oxtail. The udon noodles in their noodle dishes made it better since they are thicker. We did get some dumplings. They were very good especially the soup ones. If you are in this area of 2nd and PCH and in the mood for Asian fusion, this is a good spot to check out. And also a good area to hang out afterwards or go get desert somewhere else in the shopping area.

I love the consistency at Dan's. Whether I dine in or order delivery, the food always arrives hot, delicious, and generously portioned. My personal favorite is their chicken soup. It's light, flavorful, and incredibly comforting every time. The price point is also great, making it an easy choice for either lunch or dinner. I especially enjoy dining on their patio and taking in the view. While the staff is always friendly, service can occasionally feel a bit slow. Aside from that, it's a spot I genuinely enjoy and keep coming back to.

Tiniest portion of Dan Dan noodles
    Constance L.

Love that they have half-sized portions -- everything was (slightly overpriced but) delicious! Popped by for a quick lunch and ended up staying longer because we wanted to order more. Our server was also really friendly and was happy to let us add more to our order throughout the meal! Conveniently located at 2nd & PCH with both indoor and outdoor seating. - Chili oil pork and shrimp wontons (5 pieces for $10): plump wontons smothered in a perfectly balanced sauce -- fragrant with a bit of heat and a touch of sweetness to round everything out. The chili oil was seriously addicting because I ended up pouring the rest of it over my dan dan noodles. - Dan dan noodles with pork ($8): I knew this was going to be a small portion, but it was TINY. Like 1/3 of a pack of instant noodles. I could've eaten this in 3 big bites. Luckily it was absolutely delicious so I still felt like it was worth the try. - Oxtail noodle soup (half portion for $11): The broth is phenomenal and reminds me of Korean bone broth soup. The noodles are silky but maintain a good bouncy chew, and the oxtail is abundant and oh-so tender. A perfect little bowl!

This is probably my 10th time here and my kids and I absolutely love it made it to our top 2 restaurants all time tried their chicken fried rice and I promise it's the cleanest and tastiest fried rice I've ever had I also have to always have the chili oil dumplings they're phenomenal as well as the pickled cucumber and don't let me get started with the whole team here From the amazing Anne to her staff Rudy and Caesar ! Will be back here again and again and again

It does have outdoor seating and you can sit there. It is covered but not heated. There are probably about 15 seats out there (but don't hold me to that because I'm bad at guessing those things - point is, pretty ample seating). Mostly small tables…

    Is there outdoor seating?

Not yet but it seems like they plan to eventually as they have a fenced off area.

Rice is not free with their entree/shared items. I wish it were included with shared meat/vegetable items. Beef Lok Lak ($20, 9/10) - good portion size! Shared between four guys, and it felt like enough. - meet itself is super flavorful, chopped into small chunks, and serves a fantastic balance of savory yet sweet - served with sides of tomato, cucumber, lettuce, lemon, dipping salt and pepper Student Noodle ($15, 8/10) - delicious! This almost felt like a mix of Vietnamese Noodles + Thai Pad Thai. the Pad Thai comes from the savory/sweet flavor profile along with bean sprouts and green onions. They also provide a Syed sauce that is very similar to the Vietnamese, pungent flavor, dipping sauce for their eggrolls. - super great dish, Fantastic flavors Overall, really enjoyed the spot! Felt that the prices and portion sizes were reasonable, and a great introductory to Cambodian cuisine (kinda like Viet + Thai mix). Wish that rice were included with some of the entrée options. Parking can be a hit or miss, but service was on point.

I ordered fried pork intestines, my sister chose Lok Lak, and my daughter opted for noodles. Let's highlight the positives first: according to my daughter, the noodles were enjoyable, as she finished every last bit. Unfortunately, my dish of pork intestines was overly dry, resembling cracklings, which was not what I expected. The Lok Lak dish, however, was the most disappointing. The meat selection was tough and nearly inedible. I had to discreetly discard it in a napkin, as it felt like chewing on rubber bands. Additionally, the fried rice and sauce accompanying the Lok Lak were excessively sweet. The only redeeming aspect of our meal was the complimentary soup that came with the rice.

Parking is plentiful, although the lot can fill up during peak hours since it is shared with several nearby retailers and restaurants. The shop itself is well maintained, especially considering how long it has been in business. Everything appeared clean and organized, including the small dining area where customers can sit and enjoy their food or drinks. Service was quick, efficient, and straightforward. The staff seemed pleasant, though my visit was brief, so I didn't have enough interaction to fully evaluate the level of customer service. I ordered the chai milk tea, which I enjoyed. However, from what I remember, they're particularly known for their mango green tea, which is refreshing and worth trying if it's still on the menu. Overall, it's a clean, well-kept spot with a convenient location, quick service, and a comfortable place to relax with a drink.

This seems to be a deliberate decision by management, not it not working. I bought my drink and food and left. Normally I enjoy eating there and getting some work there. Besides that it's a great spot! Great service and good drinks/food. Parking is huge but is shared with the plaza so it can get filled fast. WiFi is usually solid.

The chashu was tender and flavorful, and every bite felt well balanced. The pork rice bowl was just as good and is worth ordering if you're hungry. The restaurant is clean, modern, and has a relaxed atmosphere. Service was friendly, and the food came out quickly even though the place was busy. It isn't the cheapest bowl of ramen, but the quality makes it worth it. If you're looking for good ramen in Long Beach, HiroNori is an easy recommendation.

This space used to be El Pocho Grill, which unfortunately closed years ago. I was seated immediately and very much enjoyed the infused water. The Tonkotsu Ramen was delivered shortly after ordering. It was good with flavorful broth that wasn't overly-salty. It just didn't hit the spot and had me desiring more. It's some of the best ramen in LB, but the value is lacking, so everything including lemons is an additional charge. They also tack on a 17.68% service charge for their operation since it's a non-tipping, cashless establishment. The service was good, but the operation is business first, restaurant second.
