Was craving noodle soup so we decided to come here. Parking is scarce and it's all street parking so just be prepared lol this place is a little hole in the wall and every table was filled when we got there. We put our name down on the yelp waitlist ahead of time tho and was able to get seated by the time we got there. The soup was sooo good and hearty, everything tastes like it's homemade which is what I enjoyed about this spot.

So many great things about this place, definitely lived up to the hype. You can definitely smell the delicious aroma as soon as you walk in. The food is authentic as you can get. The best place for Cambodian food. The portion is huge, high quality ingredients. The #1 Special full of flavor. Generous amount of meats. The rice noodles are perfectly cooked. Always get the iced coffee paired with the donut sticks. As usually dip it in the broth to soak up the flavor. Welcoming and efficient Service. And the price is affordable. My only issue is that it is street parking only.

My first time trying Cambodian food and I had to stop by this place everyone's been recommending. I did take out and called 15 minutes before arriving and it was perfect timing. I got #1 The House Special and #16 The Loat Cha Noodles. The house special broth was quite good and I liked the toppings it came with. The pork was a little too tough for my liking and I wish it came with a bit more because the dish was overwhelming noodle LOL. The #16 was pretty good and portion was a good size! Definitely get the Chinese donut on the side too!

This is a Long Beach institution for sure. It is the pathway into Cambodian culture for people visiting Long Beach and an important spot to patronize if you live here. Phnom Penh, named after the capital of Cambodia, is a Khmer-owned noodle soup shop in the heart of Little Cambodia, Long Beach. I prefer to get my noodles dry, which then come with a side bowl of soup and a huge bone to gnaw on. The broth is just so good I love to be able to enjoy it on its own. You need to order the chinese donut so you can rip pieces of it to soak in your broth. I also love all of the accoutrements on the side, the pickled peppers and chili paste. You can also ask for a side of satay, which is a chili oil that elevates the spice of their noodles in the perfect way. I always get a Thai Tea/Vietnamese Coffee to complement the meal as well. They always sell some pastries like sweet fry bread that are good to take home and enjoy later.  I highly recommend supporting your local, family owned businesses, especially ones that are essential to making cultural neighborhoods cultural neighborhoods.

Food- DELICIOUS! I got the number 3 which is their beef & beef meatball kathiew and it just like how yeay would make it! The broth is to perfection, beef is soft, and flavorful! Service- faster, friendly, and efficient! Ambiance- from the outside it looks small inside, but when you go inside it's very spacious! It feels very homey

    20. Pork Rice Porridge (House Special)

Came here before 9 AM and luckily beat the rush- no wait at all. I was feeling a bit under the weather, so I ordered the #20) Pork Rice Porridge (House Special) Congee, and it was exactly what I needed. It's hard to find places that prepare it traditionally with liver, and they did it perfectly. Because we dined in, our other dishes came with a side of broth and bone. The broth was incredibly clear and flavorful. it really hit the spot! The staff were friendly, and the interior is nice and clean. Great spot in Long Beach for comfort food.

Heard so many good things about this place and it definitely lived up to the hype! There was barely a wait for us when we arrived around 10 am, and you can join the waitlist early through Yelp. I ordered the porridge with a donut and my bf got the noodles. Everything tasted so homey and comforting and super flavorful! I haven't tried much Cambodian food, so I'm excited to come back and explore more of the menu.

    21. Mo's Special Rice Porridge
    Ginna S.

It was my first time trying Cambodian food. Out of the two dishes ordered (Mo's rice porridge, MO's special noodles with thick noodles), I enjoyed the porridge more. Portion sizes for both were decent. Prices fair as well. We also ordered the long bread on the side. The reason for the three stars is this: 1. Personally, both dishes were on the sweeter side, especially the soup. The soup was also on the blander side and the noodles too soggy when it eventually came out. 2. The service- the bread should have come out first but we didn't get it till the end, until we asked for it. There was no apology. I almost felt invisible. No one came by to ask if we needed anything periodically. Service was at best mediocre. 3. Out of the two ordered dishes, the soup came out about 15 mins later than the porridge. 4. The parking is non-existent. Street parking is narrow and your best bet if you want to even try this place. I did not like this place to try it again and am not quite sure what why there is even a wait on yelp. Which by the way, there actually is no physical "waiting space" outside, unless you're standing right by the street.

Large portions and very flavorful. Number 1 special includes a large bowl of soup with bone. Street parking was not difficult on a Sunday. Waitlist moves fast as it's a fast casual place.

#17. Rp Bowl on top, Thai tea, and #1. Phnom Penh Noodles (House Special)
    Jackie X.

Came here on a Friday around 11 am and it's only street parking which wasn't too difficult to find for us. There was a short line for dine-in and you can join the waitlist on the tablet to the righthand side of the front door outside. All the employees were quick and efficient. It's definitely a casual home-style restaurant. There was more space and tables than I expected there to be but most of them are for small parties unless pushed together. My sister and I decided to order a thai tea, the #1 phnom penh house special large, and the #17 RP bowl which only comes large. For both we chose large rice noodles. We debated for a while whether to get soup or dry (with soup on the side) but saw a large group of older people in the back corner by the bathroom all get theirs with soup on the side. If you dine in, you can get a bone in the side of soup while supplies last. The side of soup with bone was totally worth it. A huge one you can eat remaining chunks of meat off of and if you're lucky, a good hunk of bone marrow. The soup was so flavorful, I didn't want to add anything to it. I did add some hoison, chili sauce, and sriracha to the noodles. I also added the provided bean sprouts and limes. Everything was very delicious. My only complaint was that the liver that came with the #1 was hard and mealy. I think this is pretty common but I personally prefer a soft and creamy liver. I would love to try the #5, #9, or #10 as well. The thai was great and expected, nothing else to say about it. Would definitely eat here again. It was relatively cheap for large portions. I honestly wish there were more things to try on the menu because I would want to try them all! But with 1 large noodle dish, I was full, so it's not too bad that there aren't more appetizers or something.

The best place to get Cambodian noodles in So Cal. The dishes are. Authentic and give a big hug when you eat it. Tons of locals come here so you know it's authentic. Get the dry noodles with a side of broth (and a pork bone). The student noodles are also good. Three choices of noodles - egg, thin rice, thick rice noodles. Parking can be a little challenging. But if you are willing to walk a block or two it's not a problem.

    #1 House Special

After hearing all the accolades, we decided to visit the restaurant on a lazy Sunday morning. We arrived around 11AM to avoid the long line but still waited 40 minutes before getting a table (you can join their waiting list through Yelp but still need to check in through the tablet at the restaurant's entrance to get queued). There was no onsite parking, and it took us 5 minutes to find an open space on a neighboring street one block away. Inside, the restaurant's décor is simple and clean, and it can accommodate around 70 guests. For this visit, we ordered the following dishes: #1 House Special: The pork bone based broth was light but still very flavorful. The noodles' texture was on the soft side but not mushy. The sliced pork pieces were tender, and the shrimps had a very nice texture. The liver pieces were not overly hard or dry. #16 Beef Loat Cha: The noodle sauce was savory and slightly tangy and sweet from fish sauce. The teardrop shaped noodles had a tad softer texture. The beef pieces were well seasoned and quite tender. The grounded peanuts and fried garlic enhanced the dish's overall flavor. We also ordered some side dishes: Meat Ball Soup: the meat balls were pleasantly seasoned and had a very nice bouncy texture. Pork Blood Soup: The texture of the pork blood was semi firm, and the flavor was on the light side with a hint of metallic taste. Pork Intestine Soup: The intestine pieces had a quite acquired taste, slightly chewy with fatty tissues. Round Bread Nom Hing: Lightly fried bread was crispy outside and soft inside. It tasted slightly sweet and went well with a cup of coffee after the meal. The portions were sensible and prices were reasonable. The restaurant is definitely a great option for those who fancy Southeast Asian cuisine.

We came in for a late lunch on Sunday. Parking was limited, and I had to round a few blocks before I eventually got lucky. It was about 30 minutes till they close at 3pm, and as one would expect, the place was still packed. Luckily, we were the only ones on the waitlist. It was a Yelp waitlist, and after a while a guy went out to retrieve the tablet, indicating how late we were. After 15 minutes though, we sat at our table and quickly ordered three bowls of the house special. Lots of energy inside the restaurant with loud conversations and dance music being played in the background. Food came out quickly and since it was a late lunch and the smells of the place intensified the anticipation, I'd say house special hit the spot. Plenty of pork and shrimp along with bean sprouts, soup was delicious and not too salty.

Surprisingly, compared to other Thai spots, it's usually not overly packed and honestly I'm almost scared to say that because I don't want it to change. The service has always been great, the food comes out quickly, and the portions/prices feel reasonable. So far, our favorites have been the pad see ew, tom yum soup (medium spice), egg fried rice, fried calamari and the beef BBQ which was so good we immediately ordered a second plate. The mango sticky rice is also really good, but the portion is on the smaller side, so we ended up getting two orders since one plate is hard to share with more than 2-3 people. Parking has been easy for us so far since there's both a parking lot and nearby street parking. Definitely one of our favorite restaurants that's officially in our regular rotation.

The restaurant itself is nice and clean, including the restrooms, which I always appreciate. The staff was very customer service oriented and did a great job making suggestions and giving tips about the menu and spice levels, which was super helpful. I started with the Money Bags, which are basically fried dumplings. Mine were a little overcooked, almost close to burnt. They still had decent flavor, but I'd personally rate them about a 2.9 out of 5. I also had the green papaya salad with mild spice, and the spice level was perfect, especially for people who are sensitive to heat. I usually stick around medium spice at Thai restaurants, but even the mild here still gives you a nice kick. For my drink, I got the Thai tea, which came topped with a Thai tea popsicle that slowly melted into the drink. Such a cute touch, creative, and tasty. For my entrée, I had the basil garlic sauce with sliced steak and a side of rice, which I really enjoyed. For dessert, we shared the mango sticky rice. It was good, but I do feel like it was a little overpriced for the portion size. Maybe part of that is because of the specialty rice they use that has the purple hue. I know a few places in Long Beach where you can get more for the same price. That said, the presentation was really cute with the flower garnish and everything looked beautiful. The atmosphere was nice. It has an open kitchen concept, so you can actually see the cooking happening, which adds to the experience. Seating is somewhat limited and the tables are fairly close together in certain sections, especially where the divider walls are, so you can definitely hear nearby conversations depending on where you sit. Great food, clean restaurant, and strong customer service. I'd definitely come back. It shares parking with a couple other business and the entrance is just off the alleyway off Carson. Construction in the back did halt some of the parking spaces and entrance on one side. I didn't know where the entrance was walking around the block which found out later that the entrance was where parking is. I believe you could get on the waitlist but it was still early during lunch time when we arrived that it wasn't necessary. The restaurant itself isn't that big. A good amount of Asian modern style seating. Menu is pretty limited but gets down to the punch. Ramen, a couple of rice dishes and starters. Basically it. They had some alcoholic drink options too. We started off with some beers, the crispy chicken which was really nice. Thick chunks of thighs lightly deep fried and served with a dipping sauce. Juicy and tender. Entrees, the tonkatsu which you could make into a combo that comes with a side salad, and with salmon poke bowl or spicy tuna bowl for an additional fee. The broth for the ramen was quite tasty and paired really well with everything that added to it. And very filling. Also had the pork rice bowl with pork chashu, green onions, poached egg, spinach on top of rice. That was quite tasty and filling as well. There's a small and large option. Lastly the vegan ramen with sesame miso broth, broccolini, corn, bean sprouts, soy meat, tofu, baby kale with chili oil. Food was quite tasty and very filling. Service was great with friendly staff. Didn't take long for the items to arrive. The place isn't that big so it does get busy.

We ordered via third party app because the preparation of the poke sounded intriguing and different. The food came in cute packaging. When we opened the containers, in my opinion there was too much rice/quinoa to fish portion. I did enjoy the taste of the poke. It had bits of sour notes from the apple dressing, which is different from what you normally order with poke. The avocado balances out the sourness. And the poke surprisingly pairs well with quinoa. The pork buns were really delicious! It has that umami taste you look for when eating pork. The meat was very tender - easy to bite and chew. The bun was nice and soft - had good texture. And the onions that came on it was good. You don't get that oniony, bitter taste that lingers in your mouth. Overall, I enjoyed the food. Poke was good but idk if I'd order it again because the rice-fish portions are off. But I definitely need to try the ramen cos I know that's what they're known for.

Customer service was kind and my server also happened to be my bartender. Come to think of it- I only noticed two servers for the whole place, but they had everything handled despite the high volume of customers that were sat right after one another. The spot itself Is quite spacious, ample seating. The booth was a little uncomfortable for my back but otherwise ok. I got the blackberry matcha mojito and it was delicious, it had sake in it. For the food, I was a bit disappointed in the shrimp dumplings. I guess I was expecting better quality ? It also came with some type of brown sauce which I couldn't tell what it was, a bit sour- I didn't love it. The chive scallion pancake was veryyyy crispy very fried but alas it was tasty. The garlic green beans WERE 10/10!!! Obsessed. I'd come back just for that and a drink.

It's the kind of spot where you can sit down, unwind, and really enjoy your food. I ordered the brisket pho to go and it was absolutely delicious. Every bite was warm and satisfying, true comfort food done right. The portions were generous, the service was fast, the quality was great, and the overall experience was wonderful. So, i went on the hunt for a new one. I recently found this Cyclo Noodles just down the street from my place. And today, i decided to give it a try. Cyclo Noodles is a casual and laid back, family owned Vietnamese and Cambodian restaurant in Long Beach, CA. It is situated at the traffic circle in the recently renovated shopping center adjacent to the Sprouts supermarket and other small restaurants. It is a self service model where you order first at the kiosk and take a seat. They have seating inside and outside. There is plenty of parking in front of the restaurant. According to Google, it is their only location. it is known for its pho, noodle dishes, and other comfort foods. Their menu is varied with Vietnamese, Cambodian & Thai specialties including dishes such as pho (with beef, chicken, vegetable), vermicelli noodle dishes, and fresh spring rolls. Their Thai options include Pad Thai, Pad See Iew, and Chicken Curry Vermicelli. For Vegetarian options, they offer vegetarian pho, tofu spring rolls, and other plant-based options. They also serve Pineapple Fried Rice, Phnom Penh Noodle, and various salads. (See photos for full menu) Today, i placed my order on their website. It is simple and intuitive. The menu is easy to read and offers customization options with quick apple pay checkout. The service is quick and friendly and my food was ready faster than the time allowed. By the time i received my text message telling me that my food was ready, i was already in my vehicle and on my way home. I got an order of spring rolls with shrimp. You get 3 large rolls. I got an order of beef on a stick. You get 3 Sticks. And I got a Thai Iced tea. Overall Everything was tasty. The beef was somewhat tender and my only complaint is that half of my beef was marble (fat) and therefore inedible. Otherwise, that won't keep me from going back to explore some of the other items on the menu and i recommend trying Cyclo Noodles for your next Vietnamese food fix.
