I can go on about this place but what's the point, they know their food is amazing. I love me some Thai and finding places that's worth it is hard. There's loads of amazing Thai places in Long Beach but you tend to go you the ones you like. I been to a good amount where they're highly rated but something about them isn't what I'm looking for. Some tends to be very Americanize, others are just whatever but people love them. I like what I like and this place is one of them. Like mentioned, whenever I'm in Long Beach a visit here is always a must. The service is amazing as all the staffs are very friendly and welcoming. The place isn't that big but a fairly decent amount of seating on both side. They do have a table out front but it's only one. Menu has pretty much a good selection of Thai dishes. I like what I like and tend to go for the same items as they are one of the place that makes it the way I prefer. And why is it some Thai places don't offer their classic dish, the boat noodles. I've been to a few and they don't offer it while some places, it's not that good. Here, it's alway consistent and very flavorful. That a must for me and alway ordered. We also love the papaya salad which you can have Thai style or Laos style. Depending on what your preference is. Their larb is great as well. Very flavorful and tasty. Of course our main items we tend to get here, the boat noodles which I love as it's flavorful, broth is perfect and all the extras added. Also all their curries are excellent. Lately we've been getting their massaman curries which the flavors is really nice. Whatever protein you like. The curries do come with a side of rice but an extra order is alway needed. Love it to have with the papaya salad and larb. All their dishes are great and very flavorful. Spice level varies on what you like but I tend to go with medium and add all the extra spices for myself with their sauce selection. We tend to alway be full even before being asked if we wanted dessert. The food is always amazing and the staff are always friendly and sweet. There's two restaurants that's a door apart and both are great but this one takes the cake for me. It's always a must when I'm in town as I know the food will alway be delicious. Highly recommended. First time ordering from here, just found it as a recommendation on Yelp that was in 10 minutes of where I was going to be. I ordered via DoorDash and it was ready within 20 minutes! Charm Siam has been on my radar for a good two years. Parking is scarce, but I was fortunate to locate a spot on Appleton. I specifically came for the Khao Soi with Chicken and it didn't disappoint. The curry broth and egg noodles were flawless. I loved the chili and it kept me sweating. My only criticism is the chicken needed some seasoning. We got the papaya salad (Lao style) and boat noodle soup. This was one of the best boat noodles soups I've had! I love that they include tendon and a massive piece of tripe, and they're generous with the meat portion overall too. I had to give some of the meat to my boyfriend since there was a lot of it, but no complaints here. The soup was well balanced. It had a slight sweetness to it and the spice level was perfect. I got level 8 and it definitely had a kick, but it didn't overpower the dish. The papaya salad was great and reasonably priced compared to other places I've been to. The servers were very friendly. They were pretty busy but they still checked up on us and refilled our waters. Parking is tough since it's street parking only. I think this place is worth the effort though! read more

Came here over a holiday weekend, and the food did not disappoint. We started with the steamed gyoza dumplings--you can tell they're made fresh, and they were packed with flavor. I tried the fried trout for the first time, and it was excellent. I loved that it was served butterflied, and the dipping sauce was so good I even took extra to go. We also had the khao soi with chicken--absolutely amazing. I really appreciated the balance of sweetness and heat, and the chicken had a nice char without being drowned in broth. The green curry was another standout. It was full of fresh vegetables and fragrant basil, and I especially liked that the veggies were perfectly cooked, not overdone. I brought my out of town family here on a Sunday night for dinner and they were busy...good for them (bad for me lol). we were a party of 7 at 5:30 so service was a tad slow but they are always super nice and patient. Parking can be rough since it's on Broadway and there isn't much parking in the neighborhood. We parked a few blocks away but it's worth the walk. After exploring the Aquarium of the Pacific with my friends, we were absolutely starving- so we found this hole in the wall. We ordered the Chicken Pad Thai, Crispy Pork Belly, and the Mango Sticky rice. All items were delicious, espically the Chicken Pad Thai. The food came out quickly and the quality was authentic. This place is amazing! My wife and I were on 2nd street in Belmont and none of the restaurants appealed to us at that time. Yelp suggested this hole in a wall place on Broadway 15 minutes away, and boy, we're so glad we tried it. This was probably the most authentic Thai food I've had in my life. Decided to try this place while doing a walk around the neighborhood. Had to try the Khao Soi which was highly recommended. Definitely one of the best Khao Soi's I've had. It is northern style with chicken. The soup was delicious and flavorful. There was plenty of chicken that was juicy as well. I was a little disappointed by the papaya salad (Laos style), it didn't have that nice "zing" that I usually get with papaya salad. My papaya salad also arrived with hair on the dish. I notified the waiter, who replaced it promptly and apologized. I don't know if that caused me to be biased toward the dish. Overall, its a cozy restaurant with plenty of seating and lighting. The standout for me was definitely the pork belly. It was perfectly crispy on the outside while still tender and juicy inside. The boat noodles were also excellent and tasted very authentic. Definitely one of the better versions I've had locally. Only minor critique was the seafood salad. The dressing leaned a little sweeter than we expected and could've used a bit more sourness/tanginess to balance it out. A hidden gem in Long Beach! Stumbled upon this place and went twice within 1 week because it's so good. It's a small place with quick, friendly service. Their thai tea is probably the best I've had (I ordered a small the first time and a large the second time because it was so good). Their steamed gyozas are so good and have a bit of a crunchy garnish on top. Their egg rolls were also good and not too oily. I also ordered the crying tiger (marinated beef) to eat with their pad see ew. The crying tiger was good but it's basically a la carte meat so I'd recommend getting a rice or noodle dish to eat it with. Parking is street/around the neighborhood area. Absolute angels. Not a single rush, side-eye, or hint of "please leave"--just kindness, refills, and calm acceptance of our reunion chaos. The food? The grilled chicken arrived like a royal feast--abundant to the point where I questioned if we accidentally ordered the "family of six" portion. Not mad. The drunken noodles? Life-changing. Ate them again the next day as leftovers and cried actual tears of joy like a dramatic J-drama protagonist in my kitchen. Now my friend--who I'm 99% sure was my lover in a past life--ordered basil chicken with the spice level: "baby spicy." She's adorable.
