I stopped in for lunch and I'm so glad I tried this little spot! I ordered the Phnom Penh noodles and the broth was so flavorful!! I absolutely loved it! The rice noodles were a perfect complement for this dish. I didn't prefer some of the proteins that were included in this soup, but that's just my personal preference. It is a very casual restaurant. It's spacious with plenty of seating. The woman who was working while I was there was so so sweet. She was very kind.

OMG another hole in the wall local gem. Was out on Christmas, looking for a late night meal around 9PM after Astra Lumina. And this, this was so so perfect. (they're open til 2:30AM and we were easily able to snag street parking right in front) In a nutshell: Traditional cambodian meals that hit the spot that were hearty, unique, and tasty. - Shrimp Stir Fried Noodles (incorrectly translated to student fried noodles lol) $14.95. came with a side of perfectly flavored fish sauce that I made sure not to waste a drop of, and succulent shrimp. Would def get again. - Phnom Penh Dry Noodles and the combination egg noodle soup $12.95 each. A variation of each other with different noodle types. The egg noodle was thicker and much different than typical chinese restaurant types. This one seemed home made, like kalguksu. The Dry noodles came with a phenomenal xi quach beef bone that my dad loves. Jasmine tea had a strong flavor as well. Out the door, our meal was about $45. They were generous portions that were well worth it. Friendly service, locals chatting in their native tongue about the football game, drinkin beers..

Very few Southeast Asian eateries except Thai stay open until 3am on a weekend, but Koh Ruessei Cambodian-Thai Noodles manages this rare exception along with Kara Okè Cambodian Night featuring old school songs of the old country. Even heard a few 1960's Japanese pop songs sung in Khmer (k'mah ee). Very unpretentious restaurant that caters to a mostly Cambodian crowd. Service is efficient & mindful if not warmly welcoming. Ordered my usual Phnom Penh Noodles which at $13 for these days is a deal: A light chicken broth augmented by a splash of fish sauce for a fermented, lightly fishy Umami infused by that soapy, green stick like aroma from fresh cilantro. Good amount of medium thin, rounded white rice noodles that was on the soft side. Garnished with: a) 2 angular balls of steamed fish terrine b) crumbles of rough ground chicken, c) shrimp, squid d) slice of roasted pork e) What may be a bit of funky, organ meat, pork liver, and a small tubular, mystery organ meat. f) dish of crunchy, raw bean sprouts and half a lime to add a refreshing, citrus gastrique to enliven the broth. Added vinegar pickled Jalapeños; vinegared crushed whole red peppers; and a special tasting nutty, piquant, semi-smoky crushed, dried red chiles, sautéed in oil that had a vague earthy, milk chocolate aroma. Acceptable Phnom Penh Noodles that hit the spot for a late night snack. I may not go out of my way to come here, but certainly appreciate their staying open so late at night that if I'm ever in Long Beach till the wee hours, I will remind myself to come to Koh Ruessei. Phnom Penh Noodles 3+ stars. Staying open till 3am 4 stars. Next time the delectable Beef Luc Lac.

I really love the fact they are open until 2:30. A.m.. we got stuck in the traffic and arrived Long Beach at 1:00 a.m. hungry and they definitely make my day after a tiring journey. The hot and sour watercress beef soup have a very good balance of lemongrass and other spices. I ordered a small rice to enjoy that and we also ordered the egg rolls but it was meh. They have karaoke and it was pretty loud and vibrant.

Came here last week and here we are again after an event near by . The only Cambodian restaurants I know of that stay open late on the weekend Friday, Saturday past 2 am . Many fellow Cambodian people crowded here after the clubs or events in the area. Some continue to belch out to their favorite Cambodian karaoke songs . During last night eats , we were disappointed with the lack of flavors of their soup broth . I had the kuy teav Phnom Penh ( pork broth noodle soup ) and my friend had the baw baw cheam chrouk ( pork blood rice porridge ) we both agreed the broth was a miss this time around. My husband ordered their bai moan , steam chicken and rice a choice of steam or fried rice . . He opted for friend rice , and he mentioned the rice was delicious also the sauce to dip the chicken was flavorful. Don't expect to have superior service here , once the food is placed on the table , the waiters disappears . Only way to capture their attention is hoping they will pass by .

My boyfriend and I were fishing around Long Beach pretty late and wanted a pretty decent meal that wasn't fast food. We stumbled upon Koh Ruessei because it was open till 2AM and they also served Cambodian comfort food which is pretty similar to Vietnamese and Laotian food (which is where we are from). At first I didn't believe they were open so late but it seems like this is the neighborhood spot for the Cambodian locals to gather to eat or sing karaoke. It is located of course in Cambodia town. I will say the neighborhood felt a bit sketchy at night but there is a private parking lot in the back of the restaurant so it made us feel a lot safer. This place felt like you walked into somebody's home. There were plenty of tables and the typical southeast asian decor. There was barely anyone when we came so we were seated right away. The woman who helped us was really kind. She gave us some recommendations. We ended up getting the popular items ordered here a beef place with fried rice and veggies and hearty noodle soup. Both dishes reminded us of a home cooked meal that has similar flavors of where we are from. Overall, we enjoyed our experience here and would like to come back again someday to try more of their menu!

Came for a late lunch, nice local restaurant. The beef lok lak was tasty and flavorful. The chicken wings were a good balance of sweet, salty and spicy. The combo fried rice and pad see ew we're also good! Nice friendly service, would recommend if you're in the neighborhood!

I've found the best papaya salad and beef sticks! Fast and friendly. Papaya salad is juicy with spices. Came with herbs, crab, dried shrimp, carrot, tomatos and cabbage. Perfect spicy level.

While visiting Long Beach, CA, I had read that they have good Cambodian food scene. Therefore, I had looked up good Cambodian restaurants and bookmarked a handful. Out of those, based on the reviews and where I was in terms of proximity to the restaurant, I chose to check out Koh Ruessei. Koh Ruessei was recommended for authentic Khmer cooking. I had not eaten Cambodian food prior to visiting this restaurant. This restaurant is located in a residential neighborhood off the main road. It was easy to find. Parking could be challenging to find. I didn't see a sign for restaurant parking in the back or anything like that, but it might be there. Street parking or parking across the street in ALDI's lot might be your best bet. K R seemed to be a family owned/ operated restaurant with a homey feel. While I was there, it was frequented by the locals. I was in the mood for some noodle soup, so I ordered their Phnom Penh Noodle Soup (pork broth with pork meat, assorted seafood, veggies, ) and Hai Nam Chicken with rice and veggies. The soup was phenomenal in taste. Aromatic, flavorful, comforting, and filling. The Hai Nam chicken was similar to Hainan Chicken. The jasmine rice was soft and very good. The condiments were tasty accompaniments. I had a good dining experience. For those who enjoy a unique dining experience given the food variety and not something you find everywhere usually, I highly recommend checking out this restaurant. The food and service were good and the prices were very reasonable.

I'm not from here, only here for the weekend to celebrate my son's birthday. For mini get away turn to nightmare. (We rarely get that) Ordered here for late dinner since they're closest to our hotel that's open late. Story short, ordered food, got food, my 11month old daughter ate small piece of meat and cucumber. 5 minutes later she had anaphylactic shock, her slips swoll and hives on her face. My husband rush her to hospital, while I'm in my room with my kids. I called restaurant asking what's in the dish cooked with, if there's any fish sauce. Of course they're not going to admit they use fish sauce. She's at the hospital right now being monitored. If you have any seafood allergies, avoid eating here. Food I ordered: - chicken porridge - beef stick with rice - bbq beef - large rice - chicken with ginger

The rice porridge for after party is a great choice. I find myself filled with goodness eating this late at night specially after a long day of partying. I like the service and it's way of getting things served was fast. The environment seems like a popular spot to be at night and is pretty chill ambience.

Parking is a bit of a game of chance thanks to the tiny lot, so plan accordingly. Once you're inside though, the restaurant is super clean, modern, and the service is fast and attentive. We started with the papaya salad. It was just okay--I'm still trying to figure out why there was a blanket of romaine lettuce casually lounging on top. I ordered medium spice, which turned out to be "medium if you breathe fire for fun." The papaya was also a little more raw than I personally like. The tom kha soup was decent, but the real MVP was the drunken noodles with beef. Those noodles were absolutely swimming in savory goodness and perfectly soft. I would've happily ordered a second plate and called it "dessert." Overall, I'd definitely come back--mostly because those drunken noodles are already living rent-free in my head.

My family and I were heading to the Aquarium of the Pacific and wanted to find a good dinner spot…read morenearby afterward. I came across this place on TikTok because of their famous Thai tea popsicle, so naturally I had high hopes. First off, we got incredibly lucky with parking. I can definitely see how parking could be a nightmare since the lot is tiny, so consider finding a spot part of the dining experience. When we arrived, the inside was cute and seemed clean. We were seated outside, which also looked nice at first glance, but I noticed quite a few spider webs around the windows. My boyfriend even felt webs brushing against his arm while we were sitting there, which wasn't exactly the extra ambiance we were expecting. We ordered quite a bit: spicy Pad Thai, Bang Bang Shrimp, Pad See Ew, mango sticky rice, and of course the Thai tea with the popsicle. I'll give credit where it's due. The Bang Bang Shrimp was easily the best thing we ordered and was absolutely delicious. The Thai tea popsicle also lived up to the TikTok hype, although the actual Thai tea itself was on the sweeter side. If you love sugar, you'll probably enjoy it. My biggest complaint with the food was the spicy Pad Thai. The flavor was great, but it came with what felt like a whole chicken farm and a cameo appearance from the noodles. I ordered Pad Thai, not chicken with noodle garnish. The Pad See Ew was also noticeably salty. Now you're probably wondering why I'm giving this place a low rating if most of the food was decent. Unfortunately, the service completely overshadowed the meal. When it was time to pay, my aunt was figuring out how much everyone needed to Zelle her since the restaurant only allows a maximum of two cards for split payments. While we were trying to do the math, our waiter stood over us watching the payment screen like he was supervising a final exam. He was clearly waiting to make sure a tip was entered. My aunt politely asked him to give us a minute, and thankfully he walked away. Maybe when you see a family actively calculating a bill, that's your cue to...actually give them a minute. Keep in mind we also tipped 20% despite all this. Throughout the meal, he did stop by our table, but it rarely felt like he was checking in to make sure everything was okay. If anything I felt rushed. He also gave off that "customer service smile" that disappears the moment you stop looking. The cherry on top for me happened as we were leaving. We had been sitting on the outdoor patio talking for a bit after paying, which is pretty normal for my family. Before leaving, I went inside to ask where the restroom was. The guy and girl behind the bar looked at each other, laughed, and then asked if I was a paying customer. Keep in mind, I was literally holding a to-go bag with leftovers from the restaurant. I responded, "Yeah, I just finished eating," while holding up the bag that made it painfully obvious. Only then did they tell me where the restroom was. Nothing says "valued customer" quite like being interrogated about whether you actually ate there while carrying your leftovers. It's unfortunate because the food had some highlights, and the restaurant itself has a cute atmosphere. But the service made it feel like customers are viewed more as transactions than guests. Between hovering over us during payment and questioning whether I even belonged there after spending money, I left feeling more unwelcomed than satisfied. I'll happily support a restaurant that appreciates my business instead of making me feel like I have to prove I earned the right to use the restroom after paying for dinner.

So, I found this S T Noodle Bar near by and decided to give it a try. I kinda know what there guys like to eat, so I just ordered a bunch of food. The only request from anybody was for Pad Thai, the most common dish at all Thai restaurants. I GPS my way over and order the food. I was Khao Soy on the menu and I don't see that at too many Thai places that I've been to, so I got an order of that with chicken. Of course, an order of Pad Thai, 2 orders since I have 5 hungry people to feed. Also, I ordered the Thai coconut soup, I think it's called Tom Kha with chicken. One more noodles dish was the Drunken Noodles, it's kinda like Chinese Chow Fun, but has a more spicy flavor and basil in it. The food was all pack and bagged for me to take back to the hotel. We used my room since I have a bigger room. We had plates and set ups for all five of us and we re-plated the food on the serving plates that came with the room. All the food was really tasty and everybody was happy not to have to leave the hotel. I heard compliments on the Pad Thai and the Coconut soup. Off the bat, the portion sizes for the tom yum and pad thai were VERY generous (from my experiences with Thai restaurants). The pad thai stood out and was absolutely delicious! The service did great with helping us out and attending to our requests. The ambiance was relaxed, and where we sat in the back was cool because there was upbeat music playing loud enough to muffle the surrounding sounds but still soft enough to have conversation at our table without needing to raise our voice. I liked how it wasn't too fatty. -Fish Amok: It did not look like the picture, but the dish was still good. It was a sweet fish curry which was sweet from the coconut milk. I would still opt for a savory curry though. -Beef Skewers: These were yummy and I enjoyed the charred flavor of these! The flavor was very similar to Filipino skewers. I liked how even the fatty parts were enjoyable. Steamed Rice: Fluffy and not mushy which I liked. It came served in this cute rice bucket which preserved the heat of it. The restaurant was decorated nicely and was pretty clean. Bathrooms available which were also clean. The service was good and attentive. There's lots of free parking in the lot in front. It's the kind of spot where you can sit down, unwind, and really enjoy your food. I ordered the brisket pho to go and it was absolutely delicious. The meat was incredibly tender, full of flavor, and perfectly cooked. It paired so well with the rich, savory broth and fresh ingredients. Every bite was warm and satisfying, true comfort food done right. The portions were generous, the service was fast, the quality was great, and the overall experience was wonderful. I'll definitely be coming back for more!

Tucked away in a small older strip mall, this is an order at the counter type of place (also have one cashier as well). I ordered the veggie pho and my BFF ordered the rare brisket pho. Both were tasty and the portions were huge for the regular size (don't order the large unless you are sharing). No fountain drinks are available as everything is canned or bottled. You can get bottled water for 1.00; however, water with ice and cups is provided gratis. Overall, a great place just not as authentic as some other Viatnamese restaurants but I still enjoyed it.

Long overdue journal about this joint! Came to LBC's Cambodian new year festival at the community…read morecollege and had such a great time seeing all the locals and culture. We've never been before and it was nice. We really wanted to feast it up at the stalls but the lines were so long and it was so hot. Thankfully we found this amazing gem! This place is strictly CASH ONLY. So please come prepared. We came and it was a full mad house. Lines and parking was full I knew that's when we were going to get a great meal. Came with my mom and we DEF ordered more food than we can take on. My mom hasn't had Cambodian food in a while so we def made people wonder why we ordered so much lol Food was so savory and delicious. Seating is limited hopefully they can expand. I think they deserve it as a lot of people raved about their dishes. Service was friendly as well and short staffed due to the holiday. All patrons were really understanding of that. I would def come back again or wishes I wasn't so far so I can DoorDash this!

The iced coffee was solid. The bad: The women who work here were a lot less friendly. The tables were so close to one another that we couldn't sit across from one another. Food also took an incredibly long time to come out even though we only ordered two dishes--student noodles and beef skewers. We also had to wave down a server just to follow up on the iced coffee that I ordered, especially since this was already after the food had finally arrived. Lastly, while it was good that they had their own parking lot, exiting through the almost too narrow alley was incredibly challenging in either direction. All in all, still remain torn about returning.
