Pros: Homey, quick + friendly service, comforting Cambodian food, the restaurant itself has been in that same plaza for years Cons: parking is a bit limited and tight

Stopped in 40 minutes to closing on Saturday evening. Right away we were greeted with a welcoming smile by one of the employee. Interior design is adorned with Cambodian artifacts and traditional Khmer checkered table cloth . Midway eating our food , I noticed a few employees ended their shifts for the night . Kind owner stops by notifying us to not rush, he will stick around to clean and to take our time to eat and to yell for him should we need anything. Highly recommend the mango salad , crisp , sweet , tangy a nice crunch with roasted peanuts and fried pork skins . Kuy Teav Phnom Penh is one of Cambodian popular noodle soup. The stock is made with pork broth with a hint of umami , light in color that packs a punch of flavors , with shrimps, pork slices , minced pork and innards. Be sure to ask for steamed beansprouts to add in the soup bowl. Another one of my favorite is the babaw saht chrouk ( pork rice porridge) with a mixture of assorted meats , pork blood cubes . Really hit the spot during this cold evening . Make sure to order a side of cha quay ( Cambodian fried bread) to dip in the soup.

Food was so bomb. We probably overdid it but I have no complaints, well maybe expect the Phnom Penh Noodles. It wasn't as flavored. But everything else was so good. The chicken in the pad thai noodles was grilled chicken that was probably cooked separately.

My first time here looks delicious I can't wait to try it and I would come back with my friends and family I am so ready to try it out yummy

Monorom Cambodia is an absolute gem. From the moment we walked in, the customer service was great--friendly, welcoming, and attentive. The food was amazing across the board. I don't remember all the names of the dishes (wish I would've written them down!), but honestly everything we ordered was delicious. The rice alone stood out--perfectly cooked, flavorful, and comforting, the kind that keeps you coming back for more. To top it off, the peach tea was excellent, refreshing and paired perfectly with the meal. Overall, great food, great service, and a spot I'd absolutely recommend if you're looking to try authentic Cambodian cuisine. This is definitely a place I'll be coming back to--next time I'll make sure to remember the dish names because they deserve the credit!

I haven't been to this establishment in over 10 years (maybe 15). The interior was clean. The service was nice and friendly. However, the food was pretty underwhelming and lacked flavor. Porridge - 6/10 It was okay. Beef Lemongrass with Rice - 5/10 Not enough "kroeung" (spice paste made with lemongrass, galangal, etc). Pork Chitterlings with Rice - 5/10 Overcooked chitterlings. Beef Skewers - 5/10 Chewy and lacked a lot of flavor. The marinate was completely off. Overall, I would say the food was not crafted for my flavor palette.

Looked so good, but the meat was bad and in edible, as was the rice

I found this place on Yelp and was excited to try their beef stick based on other reviews. I took note that the location was sketch (that was definitely an understatement) but I was still down to go by myself to try it. I called in the order and it was ready quickly. The service was friendly and the restaurant literally smells of delicious food, super homey. The papaya salad was the only edible thing and it was average. The rice was severely dry and the meat stick was inedible- like chewing on a hard pink eraser with no flavor. I was actually confused, it look like it was marinated for a long time and looked so flavorful but it was so bad. The parking lot was more than sketch. There are large groups of people sitting in their busted cars and standing around the parking lot just watching people park. I didn't think anything of it until when I was walking out from the restaurant, I saw them checking peoples doors to see if they were locked! I parked at the opposite end of the lot and this grown man blocked me in and refused to move even after asking him nicely- he threw a man-child tantrum and said he was security for the lot and didn't need to move. If he was security, why block me in and not let others pass? Luckily I was able to finagle my way out of that mess. Perhaps it was an off day but that combined with the parking lot is enough for me to never come back. There are so many other good Cambodian places in the area that's worth fighting to go to and this was not it.

Went on Sunday around 2:45pm. All tables were full but one woman had her food packed ready to go. The most disappointing part about this restaurant was their service. Even though they saw my friend and I waiting, they weren't in a rush to get the table ready for us. They also didn't come to take our orders quickly and the food itself actually did take awhile. They originally gave us the wrong receipt when it came time to pay also. The people that served us weren't very friendly, kind or helpful The food itself was also underwhelming. I had heard the pin noodles were great so I tried them. The portion size is good and it's an average Asian noodle dish but it's nothing great. I actually felt it lacked some flavor. On the menu, it says it comes with a choice of meat, but it wasn't until the bill came out that I saw ordering the tofu was an extra $2.95 charge. The tofu was good though. The noodles are fresh and chewy. The vegetables are fresh as well. Don't plan on coming back but at least I got to try.

Food is explosive with flavors. Monorom seems like a family owned restaurant so it feels very homey. Portions are a bit small however. Parking is available but I do wanna mention that the street that this restaurant is on is a bit sketchy, so definitely be careful if you come here at night.

+ Yummy Cambodian cuisine. The Khmer BBQ Pork is a delicious shareable dish with dips and pickle. Lots of meat - yum! + Polite, helpful staff. . Okay amount of parking. At least this LB Cambodian restaurant has a parking lot. - Only one restroom. + Quiet, peaceful ambience. + Good indoor HVAC during summer with the door closed. (It's hot with the windows open at the other LB Cambodian restaurant, the one without a parking lot.) + Cute giant pink pen for filling out the check. I had: $16.55 Khmer BBQ pork + tip + 10.25% tax = $21

Had to wait over 2 hours for a table of 7 people and after waiting the table that was getting ready for us was still dirty so had to wait about another 15 mins. Then when the food came out half of it was bland and never got ate! Kinda sucks was excited to try it and was disappointed everything was off red/orange color which I KNOW isn't suppose to be like that. I honestly want a refund for everything I got and never ate

Ordered the beef sticks and they were very good! Lunch special comes with rice, papaya salad and sauce for about $16 (tax included) Service was great, and the restaurant was very cute! I have to come back when I have time to eat inside to try their Khmer vegetable soup!

Another visit and was not disappointed again. This spot is legit authentic Khmer food. The husband and wife duo - amazing when it comes to service. The restaurant is clean and when you walk in you're greeted with a smile and can sit in any available spot. This is my favorite Phnom Penh Noodles (dry) my absolute favorite. My husband tried something a little different and got their beefsticks and papaya salad. Omg! I had a few bites of his meal and I was hooked haha. Probably the best papaya salad I've ever had at a restaurant- it was crisps and refreshing, which means they used fresh produce! The Chinese donuts and Nom Hing is always made fresh - love it coming out piping hot. Like I said before, not the best location and its busy parking lot BUT it does not stop me from returning!

Our waiter Karn stayed friendly, attentive, and made sure we were taken care of the entire time, which honestly made the experience even better. We ordered the Thai Iced Tea, Calamari S&P, Crab Rangoon, Seafood Medley (medium spice), Orange Chicken, Pad See Ew with chicken, and Spicy Fried Rice with chicken (medium spice). Every dish came out hot, fresh, and full of flavor. The Calamari S&P was crispy and seasoned perfectly, the Crab Rangoon had a great crunch with a creamy filling, and the Seafood Medley was packed with seafood and had just the right level of spice and leftover sauce for the white rice on the side. The Orange Chicken was crispy with a flavorful sauce, the Pad See Ew was rich, and the Spicy Fried Rice had amazing flavor with a nice kick. The food, atmosphere, and especially the service made this such a great experience. You can tell the team works hard to keep everything running smoothly even during a rush. Every dish we've tried has been full of flavor and genuinely worth ordering. Surprisingly, compared to other Thai spots, it's usually not overly packed and honestly I'm almost scared to say that because I don't want it to change. The service has always been great, the food comes out quickly, and the portions/prices feel reasonable. So far, our favorites have been the pad see ew, tom yum soup (medium spice), egg fried rice, fried calamari and the beef BBQ which was so good we immediately ordered a second plate. The mango sticky rice is also really good, but the portion is on the smaller side, so we ended up getting two orders since one plate is hard to share with more than 2-3 people. Parking has been easy for us so far since there's both a parking lot and nearby street parking. Definitely one of our favorite restaurants that's officially in our regular rotation.

Walk inside and--on this Saturday, January 3rd--it's still decorated for Christmas, which somehow adds to the cozy, unpretentious vibe. It's around 2:30 p.m. and the place is packed, which is always a great sign. We ordered the chicken pho with ginger sauce and the brisket & rare steak pho. You get the classic sides--lime, bean sprouts, basil--and we also added the crispy egg rolls, which came out hot and crunchy with a satisfying bite. The pho arrived piping hot, deeply aromatic, and comforting in that way only a well-made broth can be. They give you chopsticks for the noodles and a large spoon for the soup--exactly how it should be. The portions are generous, especially for the price. Around $12 gets you a big, steaming bowl that feels like a full meal, not a tease. The broth is clean, rich, and balanced--not greasy, not salty--perfect for a cold, rainy Long Beach day on the Cambodia side of town. I took my time with it, savoring all the layers of flavor, especially after adding sriracha and hoisin (which is absolutely the move here). The beef was tender, the rare steak cooked perfectly in the hot broth, and the noodles held up all the way through. What really stood out was the atmosphere. There's mellow, calming music playing in the background that makes the whole lunch experience feel peaceful and grounding--no rush, no noise chaos, just people enjoying good food. Come hungry. They give you a lot of food, and it's the kind of meal that's hard to stop eating even when you're full. Pho 881 delivers comfort, consistency, and value--exactly what you want from a neighborhood pho spot.

I walked in, found a table, sat alone for 5 min waiting for someone to bring me a menu....i had to go to the counter and ring the bell. Turns out, the owner was sitting there the whole time looking at his phone and didn't even hear me come in. Got the combo. Another guy came out to serve it with no gloves on and half a finger in my soup bowl. Not to mention, the soup bowl was quite dirty on the outside. The basil leaves had black spots on them and there was nothing I could write home about this soup, pho or beef bits. It's SoCal baby! There is so much Pho competition here. Don't believe the self titled (looking for free food) Influencers. I would not step in this joint ever again. 0/10 PASS.
