First time to try this place across street from where i live. I've been eating a lot of Vietnamese food, however this one the broth tasted like way too much MSG... i don't mind if MSG been used but don't put too much. I ordered 2 meduim number 12. Spring roll "A" and extra broth came up to $43.43 too expensive. Meat cut too thin cant even see and taste the tendon. For me Im not planning to come back.

Rare beef pho

Was up in Long Beach and this restaurant was recommended. They have 4 different sizes of Pho! The largest one is huge! I ordered medium with rare beef. There was a generous portion of beef, however, it could have been a little more tender. Broth was good, maybe just a little too much fish sauce. We ordered a side of French fries. They were delicious!

This is my absolute go to spot for pho. Whether it's a rainy day or after a long night, this is the spot! The food never disappoints. The pho is always served HOT, beef super good and the greens super fresh. I always get the Chinese donut and a large pho. Sometimes I have enough to eat for a second meal. There is always plenty of staff and that makes the service amazing because they're always checking on you. The place has a casual vibe and some pretty cool art work.

There's not a huge Vietnamese population in Long Beach, especially compared to the nearby Little Saigon in Orange County. As a Vietnamese woman born and raised in Garden Grove, I have a pretty high bar for Pho. Pho Hong Phat is a great option for those in Long Beach that don't want to make the trek out to the OC. I think that it is casual, approachable, and pretty good in terms of quality and flavor. It;s not the best Pho, but it will satisfy your craving.

This place is pretty good! Warm and cozy, the flavor of the pho is good, I do think there is better places but this place is pretty good, going again!

Hainan Chicken Rice
Randy S.

Brought my grandma to try the Banh Sung that she always asks me for. It was good, but typically they use larger vermicelli noodles in banh sung. It was supposed to be topped with coconut cream but they had forgotten that. I had the Hainan chicken rice which was pretty good. The rice was a little dry, but it was flavorful. Their fish sauce here is really good though, we loved it. It seems a lot of people were coming in to try the pho or kuyteav, so we'll be back to try that next. Glad to see them offer both Vietnamese pho and Cambodian noodle soup!

Pho Tai (rare steak)
Keisha B.

Ordered a medium #1 Pho Tai with rare steak and delicious. Perfect flavor, nice portion balance of noodles vs steak, and enjoyed the condiments. I added some red chili paste for a little heat. Atmosphere was nice but expect it to be a little noisy if it's busy. Staff is amazing and work as unit to provide great customer service.

Veggie egg rolls

Came here on Saturday around 2:00pm. Parking lot in the back. Fairly busy. First room is small around 5 tables. Near counter small snacks. Service was ok. Ordered the 5 veggie egg rolls. They were crunch and tasted really good. Ordered the. Well done brisket and flake size small. Meat was good and noodles were thin. Broth was alright wish it was more flavorful on its own. All in all good for a one time try.

Came here for Sunday lunch and had plenty of space to sit. The service was incredibly attentive! our waiter must have refilled our water every 5 mins lol! Super sweet! The food came out fast, and the soup had amazing flavor, rich and comforting. Prices were great for the quality. Also the bathrooms were super clean! Definitely a solid spot for pho, and I'd happily come back!

My boyfriend and I ate here the other day and cannot stop thinking about how good the pho was!! We were treated with the best service and truly felt welcome to be there. I can't wait to go back!!

Vermicelli with grilled pork
Gubaa M.

I got vermicelli with grilled pork which was tasty. My friend got Pho beef combo. I also got iced Vietnamese coffee with condensed milk. You know it's authentic when your coffee comes with a tiny spoon in the glass cup. Reasonable price and nice service.

Laila R.

Always my go to when I'm craving pho! The store is bigger than it seems when you first walk in. The workers always seem to remember us and make us feel very welcomed which I enjoy. Not pictured: viet iced coffee, so freaking good bc it's not as sweet as I want it to be. Pairs well with the Chinese donut.

My friend and I shared a variety of dishes: -Student Noodle: If chow mein and pad thai had a baby, this would be that dish. Without the fish sauce, the noodles tasted like chow mein. This dish overall was good! While I would still opt for pad thai, the noodle texture was good and I enjoyed the flavors. We got this with crispy pork and it was tasty, but I wish it was crispier. I liked how it wasn't too fatty. -Fish Amok: It did not look like the picture, but the dish was still good. It was a sweet fish curry which was sweet from the coconut milk. This was tasty and the fish was soft. It wasn't fishy at all. This paired well with the rice. I would still opt for a savory curry though. -Beef Skewers: These were yummy and I enjoyed the charred flavor of these! The flavor was very similar to Filipino skewers. I liked how even the fatty parts were enjoyable. Steamed Rice: Fluffy and not mushy which I liked. It came served in this cute rice bucket which preserved the heat of it. The restaurant was decorated nicely and was pretty clean. Bathrooms available which were also clean. The service was good and attentive. There's lots of free parking in the lot in front. Overall, a solid Cambodian restaurant that's worth checking out in the Long Beach area!

We've never been before and it was nice. We really wanted to feast it up at the stalls but the lines were so long and it was so hot. Thankfully we found this amazing gem! This place is strictly CASH ONLY. So please come prepared. We came and it was a full mad house. Lines and parking was full I knew that's when we were going to get a great meal. Came with my mom and we DEF ordered more food than we can take on. My mom hasn't had Cambodian food in a while so we def made people wonder why we ordered so much lol Food was so savory and delicious. Seating is limited hopefully they can expand. I think they deserve it as a lot of people raved about their dishes. Service was friendly as well and short staffed due to the holiday. All patrons were really understanding of that. I would def come back again or wishes I wasn't so far so I can DoorDash this!

All kinds of mixed feelings after dining here…read more The good: The young man who took our order was super friendly, welcoming and accommodating! The student noodles with pork was delicious! The iced coffee was solid. The bad: The women who work here were a lot less friendly. The tables were so close to one another that we couldn't sit across from one another. Food also took an incredibly long time to come out even though we only ordered two dishes--student noodles and beef skewers. We also had to wave down a server just to follow up on the iced coffee that I ordered, especially since this was already after the food had finally arrived. Lastly, while it was good that they had their own parking lot, exiting through the almost too narrow alley was incredibly challenging in either direction. All in all, still remain torn about returning.

The service was EXCELLENT, the decor was beautiful, there were lots of flowers and lavender lighting throughout the venue. With such an elaborate menu and a large group to feed, there was no delay in keeping the flow of dishes in and pick-up of finished dishes. This was a 8-course dinner, served family style. Large platters of food were brought to our table of 8 guests, which was better than a buffet with hundreds of people waiting in line. Course #1 - Khmer Cold Plate with cured meats, shrimp, and pickled veggies. Good combination of protein and veggies. Course #2 - Grilled Beef with Prahok dipping sauce. Good smokey and rich flavor. Course #3 - Crispy Quail - with Khmer seasoning. Very crunchy and different way to eat Quail. Course #4 - Fish soup in a savory broth. I think this should have been Course #2 before the beef entree. Course #5 - Whole fish with pineapple garnish on a bed of noodles. My personal favorite. Course #6 - Lobster claws with Chow Mein, Veggies and Garlic sauce. We thoroughly enjoyed this one! Course #7 - Pork Fried Rice with diced veggies. Rice was definitely a welcome addition to the meal. Course #8 - Taro dessert with Coconut Milk topping. Not overly sweet, a nice way to round out and end the fabulous meal. I am still in awe of the wonderful time we all had. There was a stage and dance floor on the north side of the dining room. Entertainment by a DJ who played a variety of traditional music and popular tunes as well. They do have a small parking lot with valet service. The live entertainment (singers on stage, band playing, etc.) can be a pro and a con at the same time. It's nice to see and experience, but it also makes it hard to hear sometimes. I can't count the amount of times (over the years) where I couldn't hear my server or even my own family I was sitting with. Service is fair. Staff is usually friendly. Sometimes it can be hard to get their attention, even if the restaurant isn't super busy. Also, parking in the main lot is tight and almost never available.. We stumbled upon this restaurant on Yelp then headed here based on the pictures. There was plenty of parking when we arrived and we were seated immediately because there wasn't really anyone inside on a weekday afternoon. We couldn't decide between what to get because everything looked so good and we were hungry, so we ended up getting the beef sticks, beef larb and angel chicken wings. The beef sticks were probably one of the most flavorful beef sticks I have tried in my life. You're instantly hit with so many different flavors while it's hot. This is something we would get again. The beef larb was a little too tangy and sour for my boyfriend's taste, but he still enjoyed it. He also said the beef in the larb was a little chewy for him, but it wasn't a big issue for him. I enjoy eating sour foods, but it did have us sweating inside haha. I loved the combination of veggies mixed in with the larb and the cabbage definitely helped cut out some of the sourness. The angel chicken wings! Probably one of my favorites because of all the lemongrass and turmeric added inside. The chicken was crispy on the outside yet so juicy on the inside. I also like that they cut up the wings into pieces for you. I'm glad we can across this restaurant on Yelp and got to try it. Next time, I would try the soups like the babaw (porridge) or the nom banh chok (fish rice noodles) because they were items I was deciding between that's still lingering through my mind right now.
