Enak sekali! I've been craving some Indonesian food and this place hit the spot! Everything was as flavorful as I was expecting. Coconut rice was bomb. Sambal was bomb (could've been spicier tbh haha...but gotta protect the bules). Gado gado was loaded (although I expected lontong)! Sate was fantastic. Service was attentive and very friendly! And inside is cute and has good natural light. (Also played some of my favorite Mandarin pop songs hahaha. So that was a plus!!)

A casual mom and pop restaurant serving delicious Laksa noodle soup. The soup had tender flat noodles, halved eggs, and a creamy coconut broth. I could come here on a rainy day to get a hot Laksa. The service can be a hit or miss because I had to go get some utensils they placed near the cashier. Oddly, they use an Amex POS but say they don't accept Amex cards.

Oh this place is great. I truly enjoyed it. Arrived on a Tuesday at 11am. Service was quick and food came out fast. Very good portions also. I got the hokkien Mie which really hit the spot. Price was $13.99 for lots of meat, and lots of egg noodles. Soup was very flavorful! The meat was a bit tough in some areas but can't complain much for $13.99 I'm used to eating in Westminster so this was a nice change. Parking gets pretty tough due to the nearby college. It was nonstop traffic coming into the restaurant though. Lots of pick up / to go also. Overall 4/5 stars. Good portions and bang for your buck.

Less familiar with Indonesian and Malaysian food so was excited! + Roti Prata ($10.50 for large): Flat roti is different, still maintained the crispy exterior but more dense, curry sauce was good. Could be tad sweeter and thicker (7.6/10) + Hokkien mie ($13.99) thin egg noodles, char siu, with some Gai lan and toppings. Soy chicken was my favorite, very savory so super yummy w the vinegar I requested on the side (8/10)

Cute lil spot in Long Beach rhat serves up some delicious food! My favorite was the grilled meat with peanut sauce. They were great and come in a pretty good portion. The noodles soup were just ok, tastes very very bland so I had to drenched this in siracha. The servers were also really nice and recommended some great stuff! I'd definitely come back for that grill meat

This place used to be so good a few years ago and just isn't as good anymore. We ordered the Borneo rice plate and the chicken satay. Both were okay, the chicken satay had more flavor than the rice plate. The soup that comes with it is really good though! Overall I was disappointed and would not come back. Sad because this was one of my fave places for Singaporean/Malaysian/Indonesian food :(

This continues to be a five star experience for us due to the incredible flavor of the food! The Singapore Curry Laksa is second to none! Our family will drive out of our way, just to eat here! AFTER recently dining here (and because we are four hours away) we ordered another whole meal TO GO, for the FOLLOWING DAY! Yes, it's THAT good! ;D

This has been one of my go-to spots in Long Beach, and often frequented during my CSULB days. I still come back for their Singapore Laksa with egg noodles, and Chicken Satay Plate with curry rice. The creamy laksa sauce is so good and warms your soul. The laksa comes with boiled eggs, tofu, shrimp, and fried garlic. A small roti prata comes with 1 roti, if you get large it comes with 2. Their mie goreng is also a yummy dish to try if you like chow mein. The peanut sauce on the satay is a must get! I wish they served more so I can dip the skewer into it. Service has always been nice, and the parking lot is shared with Target and other businesses in the plaza.

3.4 stars It's my first time trying this location and I thought it was above average. I think it might be a little difficult for me judge b/c I've been spoiled with Borneo Kalimantan and Ipoh Kopitam in Alhambra. Because I brought my dog to Long Beach, I didn't get to eat inside. Instead, I had to order take-out and eat outside. We got the Laksa with egg noodles and Hakka Mie with egg noodles. The laksa was pretty good. The Hakka Mie was ok - the char siu was a little to fatty and sweet for me and mom. The egg noodles were great though. I think it's good and worth coming back for.

Each time we eat here is always the Best when crave Delicious, Hearty and Fresh Food!! We love the Sate and coconut rice combo, with a side of gado gado salad. Sooo good!!!! Our waiter was super friendly and caring, making sure we have all we needed for our yummy meal. We enjoy eating here also since its so very clean. See ya soon!!!

Good was good overall with a decent portion size. I got the Singapore Laksa which had a great flavor. Also tried the Penyet Plate as recommended by the staff. The sambal sauce that came with the dish was good, but the Cornish hen itself was on the dry side. Third dish was the Beef Rendang and this was okay as well. I've tasted better at other locations so this was subpar in comparison. What helped with the rating is the laksa and their service. Location wise, good amout of parking and seating available as well. Ambiance of the restaurant felt like a local mom and pop shop where the servers made recommendations of food, and were approachable and friendly.

I love this place. Fantastic food. Good service. I have been here several times and it never disappoints. I wish I lived closer, but I think it's worth the hour (without traffic) drive.

Their Singapore Laksa is what I come for!! It is super good! I always add an extra marinated egg because they are so tasty just by themselves!! I lowkey wish they would sell them by the jar!! I often take my food to go and add extra seafood to it! Can't vouch for anything else because as of right now, I only have tunnel vision for the soup!

Ask the Community - Uncle Fung Borneo Eatery

Do they serve in ceramic/glass dishes and bowls or plastic? Eating hot soups in melting plastic is just not what I'm willing to spend money on when eating out...

It used to be plastic back in the day but they've since upgraded to bowls now.

Do you have loempias on the menu?

I don't remember seeing lumpia on the menu. We have been a few times but haven't ordered appetizers so I dunno. I'm pretty sure the restaurant has a menu on Yelp ?

CLOSED on Mondays! Yelp says open?

It’s closed in Santa Ana permanently. It’s open in Long Beach. I’m unsure which location you are inquiring about

Are they shut down? Here on a Saturday at 11:00 am and no signs saying it's closed.

I just ate there on the 10th. I sure hope not.

Are they open for dine in right now?

Yes, only four tables, two on each side, only one person taking order at counter

Do you have plenty of outdoor seating?

Looked like no. Only 3 tables shared tables, used by L&L also.

    Is take-out available?

    Yes, for sure!

    Are there vegetarian options :)?

They do! Vegetarian appetizers include Roti Prata and Gado-Gado. They also have items called Vegetarian Noodle and Nasi Kari Vegetarian to name a few! You can find their full menu on their website with pictures too. :)

It seems like all the main entrees on the menu are spicy. Are their dishes that are not? Asking for family members.

The Cornish hen chicken is soooo delicious and no spicy

Do they use or do any of their products contain MSG?

I'm guessing they do, because they probably would have said otherwise. Also because it's quite a common additive in most Asian cuisine.…

    Do you have kwetiaw siram?

Hi Caroline, No, we do not have kwetiaw siram, but we have Char Kway Teow. Thank you

    Do you have vegan options?

    Just say no meat .

Do they cook with peanut oil?

We use vegetable oil, not peanut oil. Only two dishes contain peanuts: sate ayam and gado gado.

    Are there gluten free options?

For customers who have celiac disease or who are allergic to gluten, we do have limited options.…

Can the laksa be made vegetarian?

I am told by the chef that it can be made vegetarian....I am not sure what ingredients make the broth or how much notice they need.

Do they accommodate large groups or is it too crowded for that at this point? Want to come for my birthday but my family is about 15 people :)

I would suggest to give them a call and ask. There's seating for maybe 30-40 people total.

    Do they have high chairs?

    yes

Joining the waitlist online once you are close by saves so much time and makes the entire experience so much smoother. If you are coming here for the first time, there are three absolute must-order items. The Curry Laksa is spectacular, featuring a rich, aromatic curry broth that is packed with authentic spice and flavor, along with a wonderful variety of ingredients loaded right into the bowl with the noodles. Their Hainan Chicken is hands down the best I have ever tasted! Even though the portion size is on the smaller side, the quality more than makes up for it. The meat is ridiculously soft, tender, and juicy, and the savory sauce served alongside it is top-notch. Finally, the Roti Canai is an absolute essential that you simply cannot skip. It comes out piping hot, with a flatbread that is perfectly crispy and flaky on the outside, soft on the inside, and paired with a rich curry dipping sauce. Everything here tastes amazingly authentic, and the incredible flavors truly transport you straight to Malaysia. I am so glad I finally made it out here, and I will definitely be back soon!

If you're reading this before October 20th, 2026 you need to go!!!…read more Sadly they're closing in Oct and it breaks my heart because of how amazing their food is. The staff is friendly and amazing on recommendations. The food is hot and fresh. Malaysian food is difficult to find and has a distinct bold yet comforting flavors. The char siu had that sweet and salty flavor all throughout each bite. I loved the fried pork bits in the rice & noodles that give extra umami to the dish. The crispy pork belly was in fact very crispy and delicious. The noodle dish was our favorite, we got medium spicy which was perfect for our palettes. It was saucy and had everything you could want. I wish we had discovered it sooner but we'll be returning as much as we can until the end.

The Nasi Lemak was pretty good, rice had a good coconut flavor and the rendang was pretty well made as well. Overall I'd really recommend this dish. The Char Kway Teow was okay, the flavor was good but the consistency of the noodle was a bit too soft, not a bad dish at all though. Both dishes were pretty generous with portions, and service was good too. Sad to see from other reviews that they are closing later this year. This is a good spot in Anaheim for some Malaysian food!

Best Hainan chicken in the area, and the portions are pretty big. The chicken is juicy and tender,…read morebut the most important thing about a Hainan chicken place is the sauce. Maxwell does not disappoint --- their garlic ginger sauce is reall good. The rice is also pretty good, just the right amount of chicken flavor without being too salty. I've also tried the fried chicken, and the skin is super crispy and delicious. Pretty unexpected to find good fried chicken at a Hainan chicken place, but it's a nice surprise. You can add a piece of fried chicken to the Hainan chicken plate, which is what I'd recommend. Looks like a lot of people get takeout from here. There are only two tables inside with a few tables outside. Service is friendly and fairly quick. This is definitely my go-to place for Hainan chicken, and I will be back!

The space is pretty compact and purely self-service for the most part. I got the weekday Hainan Chicken lunch special, but the Hainan chicken rice missed the mark for me. The poached chicken was alright, good amount of food but lacks depth of flavor. The rice turned out a bit dry instead of being richly fragrant, and the accompanying chili and ginger sauces felt pretty mid. For a fast weekday lunch, the pricing on the Hainan chicken is a good value (~$14 after tax), but I think you can do better with a few more dollars.

Yummy Indonesian, Singaporean, and Malaysian food! I ordered the Singapore laksa with egg noodles…read more The soup base with similar to a creamy curry but wasn't thick. It was very flavorful. They were shrimp, tofu, and fish cake in the soup as well. If you're looking so a soupy dish, I would recommend this! My husband got the Indo Mei which was a dry noodle dish and it came with a small bowl of broth. He really enjoyed it and the dish was very flavorful. For the table we ordered a large roti which came with 2 roti and curry for dipping. The roti was flakey and delicious! Our servers were very nice and would explain the different dishes to us! I would definitely come back again ! Note they do charge a 18% service fee after 6 or 6:30pm.

They since have expanded and finally we were able to go. With that said, we ordered the Roti Prata ($5.99) - comes with only 1 pcs along with a very small portion of curry sauce to dip. Expensive for what it is. For entrees we got the Borneo Seafood 'From The Wok' (rice option, $17) but more like 'fried rice' consists of a few shrimps, strips of fish cake slices, and some fish ball halves; and their Gado Gado salad ($13) - a medley of fried tofu, some bean sprouts and cut cucumbers along with fried shallot toppings and peanut dressing, but the egg omitted. All were good but not great, well, actually the roti curry dipping was excellent but too bad it was so small. Excellent friendly staff. Seating was quick followed by their prompt ordering process, and alas, food came out fairly quickly. Why the 3-stars you might asks? I find the food price to be on the higher side for what they serve. $6 for a single piece of roti is a slight overkill considering we were used to getting two pieces accompanied with a much bigger bowl of curry compared to similar (Malaysian/Singaporean) restaurants. But this isn't the main issue.... The main (issue) surprise: There is an extra 3% credit-card surcharge on top of your bill which isn't noted anywhere as I found out after I got home. When the server came back with their little machine to pay, options were the 'tip' - starting with the usual at 18% so forth, and of course most tend to choose the first option, as I did. Brought my phone up close to device unit using Apple Pay and NFC kicks in! So in short, I paid 21% more on top of my regular bill. Question is, who doesn't use credit cards these days, or was it just another form of surcharge to cover employee health insurance to deter from mentioning? Be aware.
