Falafel appetizer with fresh warm pita bread. Pickled turnips. Hummus

Wife and I enjoyed a wonderful lunch at this Mediterranean themed restaurant. Even though we were in downtown LB for a moment I felt I was in a whole different hemisphere. The service was excellent, and informative of the dishes. Can't wait to return. Again and again, and again. Did I mention the Ice cream desert was outstandingly delicious.

Try the family feast... this was suggested by Erick our wonderful server that honestly we couldn't ask for more!!! The food is delicious a whole experience... I came here like a couple of years ago with one of the city council members and I always wanted to bring my wife that by the way she's a great fan of this food!!! The place is pleasant with its street terrace...

Levantine Toast - Long Beach, California

Lavish Levantine lunch in the LBC! You must start out your meal with the housemade pita bread. It's served puffy and airy, so you know it was freshly baked. Though do note that hummus is an extra $14. The Mini Beef Shawarma Wraps were deceiving... because they weren't as mini as I thought! Fairly substantial portions. Comes with tahini sauce on the side. I ordered the Levantine Toast, which is a healthy combination of avocado, labneh, cherry tomatoes, radish, pomegranate seeds, zaatar, with extra virgin olive oil drizzled on top, all on a piece of sourdough. Aromatic and delicious . Add an egg or smoked salmon for an extra $4. Very nice atmosphere inside. Outside patio area is great too. Reservations recommended, but they'll accommodate you if there is space.

Phenomenal experience. ARAB LEBANESE always the best of all middle Eastern Cusine taken as a whole. The Lebs simply love their food and it shows it the preparation. These days all they have left is their food, I should know, my father and friends are in daily danger. Enough said. Sorry. Hey check our the toilet art. See photos. Terrific service and parking is a hassle.

We came to Ammatoli for a birthday brunch for my husband, and honestly, it was such a good choice. The place is really pretty and feels relaxed enough to enjoy time with family. Mary took care of us and she was great--super helpful. We followed a lot of her recommendations and she didn't miss. We ended up doing more of a family-style spread, which was perfect for our group of 5. The hummus with chicken shawarma, fattet hummus, foul mudammas, and mutabbal were all really flavorful. The shakshuka was a standout, and the falafel came out fresh and crispy. Everything paired so well with the warm, freshly baked pita. For mains, we shared the mixed mashawi--kafta, ribeye kebab, and lamb chops and everything was cooked just right. The meats were tender, well-seasoned, and you could tell they knew what they were doing. We also had vermicelli rice on the side, and of course had to end with dessert--knafeh and Umm Ali, plus Turkish coffee. Such a good way to wrap up the meal. It was just a really nice, easy celebration--good food, great service, and time with family. Definitely a spot we'll come back to.

Hummus, tabbouleh, pickles and olives, cucumber and carrots and pita bread

Got the chance to celebrate my birthday with a couple of girlfriends at Ammatoli and it was such a great experience. The space is cozy and beautifully designed. It feels intimate even with other tables nearby. What we ordered: Family Platter - We chose 2 chicken, 2 ribeye, 1 gyro and 1 salmon for our proteins with hummus, pickles and olives on the side, plus tabbouleh for our salad. It also came with rice pilaf. I loved that it included grilled veggies (tomatoes, onions, bell peppers and jalapeño) along with a variety of delicious sauces. Everything was beautifully presented and the food tasted fresh and flavorful. The pita comes straight from the oven which makes such a difference. They also offer cucumbers and carrots if you prefer or if you're gluten-free. Drinks - My friends had the rosé and white wine and I ordered the mint lemonade. Everything was crisp and refreshing. Dessert - We were so full but still shared a pistachio baklava with ice cream and Turkish coffee with cardamom. It was the perfect way to end the meal. The baklava was a little different than what I'm used to. It didn't have the usual layered structure, just phyllo on the top and bottom so it fell apart a bit when we bit into it. Overall, no complaints. The food was amazing, the service was top-notch and I can't wait to come back and try their brunch.

Ammatoli! Such a delightful dining experience. We started with the mezze. The spicy hummus and falafel were amazing, as was the bread that came with it. Definitely order the potatoes. They are so good. My friend and I shared the lamb, which was cooked so well. Dessert was the recommendation from the bartender and we're so glad we listened. That pistachio baklava was the best way to end that meal. Our server made our dining experience so much better.

Service was A++++++++++, ! All thanks to our service Francis! Came here for Mother's Day with our party and he did an amazing job explaining the menu and recommending items and seeing that we were all ok. All the food was delicious too, we got 2 orders of the family feast for our party of 11 and added a few more things, it was more than enough. Definitely recommend coming here, especially for any special occasion!

We had a party of 5 for a 40th birthday dinner and everything was phenomenal. We were walking around the Promenade and were indecisive of a nice sit down restaurant. So glad we settled on Ammatoli. We ordered the family meal, and every dish was fresh and flavorful. It was great because we got to try a lot of different meats. I wouldn't say the family meal is enough for a famished party of 5; just enough room for dessert. Our server Cameron provided excellent service and kept everything running smoothly. Highly recommend this spot for anyone looking to celebrate a special occasion with great food and a lovely vibe. While we were lucky to walk in, I suggest making a reservation. The restaurant was bustling for a Sunday evening.

I came here during brunch. There's plenty of parking on 3rd St in the City Place parking garage just 0.1 miles from the restaurant. The first 2 hours are free. You check in at front. I was a walk in so the waitlist took about 15 minutes. Not bad. The inside is really nice. I love the decor. Food Batata Harra - this was good. It had a sour spicy taste. I liked it. Roasted Beets Labneh - This was my first time having this and I liked it. Pita Bread - came out fresh from the oven. Beef Shawarma - the beef was dry. Everything else that came with it was good, but the beef should be the star of the dish. Service was good. They were friendly and welcoming.

AMBIENCE: (5/5) - Gorgeous restaurant that transported me back to Greece. Love the hanging plants from the ceiling with the soft glow of the ornament lights SERVICE: (4/5) - Server greeted with a smile and got our waters right away but seemed super busy and slightly flustered in the beginning - Food came quickly - Took a while for us to get any attention for the bill since it seems like it's only one server for the bar FOOD/DRINKS: (4/5) - Beef Shawarma (4/5): Beef was a little bit too wet for me, wish it could've had a little more color from the fire pit - Pita (5/5): Excellent texture with a pocket in the middle perfect for putting the shwarma in - Mutabbal (3/5): Usually eggplant is one of my favorite dips but this one was just slightly on the more saltier/brinier side - Turkish Coffee (3/5): Slightly burnt on the taste, overly bitter even after adding some sugar to try to balance out. Only made me miss the turkish coffee I had in Morocco more OVERVIEW: (4/5) - Great vibe for brunch. Expected a bit more given its the semi-finalist for the James Beard award but we didn't order a big selection (we weren't hungry enough yet) so might come back to give it another try since the food was still good

Lip of the bottle with grime
    Odanys V.

So I absolutely love coming here, but in my visit today I was a little disgusted by the water. I noticed it had a little bit of a black smudge and after wiping with a napkin realized it was grime on the lip of the water bottle. This is a nice restaurant so I find it really breaks my experience. I think the food and service is fantastic. When it's slower you may have to specify to bring your appetizers prior to food. I find it overwhelming when everything comes out at the same time. It's pretty peaceful in between the lunch rushes.

    Tresla G.

The food is absolutely amazingly! Fresh, authentic, colorful. The service was perfection. Very attentive. My first time here in Long Beach. Had to pull over and take a meeting. The service by my server Kasey was delightful! She gave excellent food choice selections. The ambiance was simply Gorgeous. A exquisite wine bar selection. The greenery with earth tone lighting set the scenery.

The vibe has shifted toward a more minimalist coffee cafe aesthetic, and the menu has seen a significant overhaul. The Food & Value: I was disappointed to see the old favorites go. The Chicken & Waffles, previously a staple with three wings, has switched to dark meat only (thighs) with zero substitutions. As someone who isn't a fan of dark meat, that was a major letdown. I opted for the Lemon Pancakes ($21), and while the presentation was stunning, the taste was underwhelming and the portion size was surprisingly small--my son's kids' meal actually had more food than mine. Bristy, our server, thoroughly explained the details of certain dishes such as the Mac & Cheetos. She also checked in on our table throughout the meal and came around often to refill our water. As for the food itself, it was very delicious. My favorite dish was the artichokes. They had a somewhat smoky flavor and the outermost leaves were crunchy and a nice contrast to the soft inside of the artichokes. They were also served in a tangy sauce that complimented the vegetable well. My friend's favorite item was the macaroni and cheese. It was chewy and creamy, and the pasta, which Bristy informed us was made in-house, was what my friend thought elevated the dish because it was a nice texture. We additionally ordered the gumbo which was also tasty but not as yummy as the other two dishes that we ordered. It is not a spicy dish if one is concerned about spice level. As for the ambiance of the restaurant, we enjoyed how the atmosphere felt casual and almost like you were sitting in somebody's house (the wallpaper and interior design is pretty) while still maintaining an elegant aesthetic design. If I was in the area, I would return to The Attic for dinner. My friend and I had a very welcoming and positive experience in terms of the service and food respectively at this establishment.

We came on a weekday so getting a table quickly wasn't an issue. Points for the service. The…read morehostess and server were good. The restaurant has multiple parts. There is inside seating what looks like a converted house? There is outside seating at tables or at the bar. The menu was interesting which had a theme of shrimp; there was eggs Benedict with shrimp, but not an item to order a regular one without it? Sure maybe could have ordered and asked without shrimp but pay the same price? Pass. Ok when I called they mentioned they serve brunch until 3? 3:30 I can't remember. The server mentioned they serve the brunch all day? Either way when I got to ordering this month on the menu it highlighted the shrimp po boy. I tried to order and nope, out. How can you be out of the item highlighted as the special in the middle of the day? When the place is not packed? I tried to order the lobster roll and again, out. I was tempted to order their short rib poutine since in theory it sounded good, but at this point I tried something simple I would hope they have in the kitchen chicken and waffles. The plate came and it looks good. If you look at the picture at the bottom of the chicken you can see a dark something. As I lift my chicken I found a huge burnt piece of breading pictured next. On top of the chicken is green onion I think? Who eats that with chicken and waffles? If I am wrong, a garnish is totally unnecessary for this dish. The chicken was moist. There are spices in the flour breading I can see but hard to taste what it is. The waffle is a hard pass for me. The waffle was crispy which is good, but also thin and dry and I couldn't taste any sweetness until I put maple syrup on it. The syrup came out warm which was nice. It's clear watching the people at the bar this is a local hangout. The chicken and waffles were $19 which if I was in the bay I think it's about right, but I think a little high considering the level of food I got. Supposedly this place is packed specifically on Sundays. The server doesn't know why? I'm not interested to even try to come back for a second chance and just be told sold out of the menu.

The atmosphere is always warm, welcoming, and consistently top-tier, but what truly makes this restaurant special is the hospitality. Tonight, I ordered the halibut and enjoyed a martini at the bar, and everything was exceptional. My bartender, Ben, was attentive, personable, and made an excellent recommendation. He struck the perfect balance between professionalism and genuine hospitality, which made the experience even better. I also want to recognize Ethan, who brought out my food. Ethan was incredibly hospitable and thoughtful from start to finish. He complimented my order choice, made sure I had everything I needed, and even circled back after I had taken a few bites to make sure I was enjoying my meal. That level of attentiveness truly makes guests feel valued. What I appreciate most about Nick's is that no matter how busy the restaurant gets, the staff always makes you feel like you're the most important guest in the room. The service culture here is something other restaurants should strive to emulate. I honestly wish this location could become the blueprint for restaurant hospitality everywhere. Outstanding food, outstanding service, and an outstanding team. Looking forward to my next visit already.
