My husband and I tried Let's Yolk About It for the first time this weekend and WOW. Everything is 5-star. It sits literally at the end of our street, so while it's walking distance, we drove and parked nearby because it's summer and I'm very pregnant. The ambiance is very nice, calming, inviting and in this summer heat, nice and cool!! We got there around 10am on a Sunday and were sat right away. I didn't notice around 11, when we were getting ready to leave, it got much busier. Now, our food. I got 2 drinks-- the guava pineapple spritzer which was such a good mocktail and not overly sweet. I also got an iced decaf latte which was good. Would probably have been better if it was fully caffeinated, but I've noticed that about all decaf coffee during this pregnancy. My husband got the maple bacon old fashioned and said it was smooth and delicious. It came with a piece of bacon as garnish! Our server Elise was absolutely amazing and recommended items to us. I went with her recommendation of the carne asada plate and OMG it was quite possibly the best carne asada I've ever had. It came with eggs, potatoes and a choice of toast or tortilla. I got the tortilla which was obviously house made and I've been dreaming about this thing. It was absolutely delicious. I finished the ENTIRE plate. I shocked myself even, lol! My husband got the crab Benedict and said it was SO good. He looked like he enjoyed every bite, his whole plate was done by the end as well! Such a wonderful place to enjoy a Sunday breakfast. There was a wait list, but it moved fast. The hostess was super sweet and set the high positive vibe for our visit. Little did we know, this was the energy of the entire team. We kept changing our reservation to accommodate more guest and the hostess was chill with all of it. We sat in the back seating area and was immediately greeted and offered water. We places our orders and the food came out super quick, fresh and hot. You can definitely tell this place is a local favorite here on 2nd Street in Long Beach because it gets packed early in the morning. The vibe feels very community based and welcoming. Our waiter mentioned that pretty much everything is made in-house, which honestly makes a huge difference and gives the place a more homemade feel. They also had a pretty solid coffee selection that I definitely want to come back and try next time. I was craving steak and eggs, so I ordered their sirloin steak and eggs plate. The steak itself was seasoned really well and cooked great overall, although I personally would've liked a little more sear on it. The breakfast potatoes were honestly one of the highlights for me. I asked for them extra crispy and they came out perfect with a really good crisp and texture. The over easy eggs were cooked perfectly too, and you could tell by the color of the yolk that they were probably using farm fresh or organic eggs. The sourdough toast was another standout. It came flattened and crispy, which paired really well with the strawberry jam and butter they served on the side. Small touch, but it made a difference. I also ordered an orange juice which was decent, nothing special, but the customer service more than made up for it. Everyone was super friendly and attentive. Next time I come back, I definitely want to try the eggs Benedict and one of their specialty coffees. Only downside is parking around the area can be pretty rough, especially during breakfast hours. Either get there early or be prepared to circle around and fight for some prepaid parking nearby. read more

I have the most wonderful, jaw dropping experience to share. A dear friend of mine and myself had breakfast at "Let's Yolk About It" this past week. We were enjoying our meal. The food was delicious. The atmosphere is comfortable and welcoming. Next, this very nice lady came by our table to ask if we needed anything and if we were satisfied with the service and food. The lady that came by our table was named Rebecca and she was the actual owner. As I began to respond, she notices my plate of bacon and queries if I ordered it so crispy. I really hadn't notice, when she took the initiative to say she was not happy with how it was cooked, sent it back and brought out a freshly cooked and less crispy bacon. Who does that? My mouth literally dropped. In all my 70 years, I have had managers and owners come to my table and asked if I was pleased with my meal, but I have never had an owner take the initiative to send back food they were dissatisfied with...seriously, my mouth dropped. I was so impressed with her customer service approach as this is so rare these days in the restaurant sector, let alone the business field, in general. I literally was speechless.
