    French Toast

It's a very small space inside and I've seen that they also places tables and chairs outside too, recently. Before that, it was a really long wait to get inside. But that's understandable. What I didn't like was that the wait wasn't really worth it. The chilaquiles tasted like a watered-down version, little flavor and no spice at all. The eggs and rice were mediocre. I think the only good thing my mom and I had was the french toast but even school cafeterias can make good french toast. At the end, I honestly wished I just went to a Mexican restaurant because I know they wouldnt have messed up the rice this bad. I think if they put as much effort into their food as they did with their interior decorating, then maybe this would have been a 3+ star experience.

The pink floral Bridgerton inspired decoration is so girly so pink so cozy. We made a reservation and was immediately seated and water/drink order was offered. The steak was very tender. The French toast, off menu, was fluffy. The interior fits about 12 people with sidewalk seating. So it's petite. Overall, nice experience.

We visited Mother's Kitchen on a Sunday at 2 PM. It was a bit busy, but for a party of 2, we got seated within 10 minutes of getting there. We both ordered chilaquiles, I ordered the green and my boyfriend ordered the split of green and red. A couple minutes later, the chef comes out and lets us know that they ran out of the red, so my boyfriend just did all green instead. Once our plates came out, we noticed that our rice was missing. We had to ask the server if rice came with our meal and they said it did but they were out, so we can substitute it with potatoes or hashbrowns. We asked for potatoes. A minute later, the server came back saying they were out of potatoes, but they have fries and hashbrowns, so we got the fries instead. It was a lot to deal with, within a matter of like 10 minutes of sitting down at this restaurant, but I get that we were within 1 hour of closing. It was just a very strange experience to have. On to the food itself, the chilaquiles sauce could have used more spice and salt. It was also weird that the chilaquiles werent topped with any onion or cilantro. I think that would've given it more flavor. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't the best. We would give it maybe a 6.5/10 rating. The fries, however, were veryyy good! I would have rather just had that as my meal than the chilaquiles itself. Overall, our experience was a bit lacking. Maybe we have to come back right when they open so that they don't run out of stuff? Our server was very friendly though, so I don't fault him for anything. 3 stars for being seated quick, the cute decor, friendly service, pricing isn't too harsh, and delicious fries.

If I'm being honest I don't understand all the bad or less than decent reviews! I am thankful my friend and I had a great experience. It seemed as though this restaurant gets crowded and I had been forgetting to call and make a reservation, so I did a few hours before we came and were able to get one right away for a party of 2 indoors. We went on a Saturday afternoon around 12pm. We did arrive I think half an hour late but they were okay with it! Try to come early to find street parking, we got lucky and found a spot nearby right away. It wasn't that crowded for a Saturday afternoon either, two tables were still available indoors and plenty of seating outside. Service was great, but it did take us a while for us to get our food so we were munching on the tortilla chips forever. The food did turn out so good at least! My friend got the chilaquiles and I got the tacos. I got pollo, asada, and al pastor. All were super good. I did want the pink tacos but those are only on Tuesdays but I was happy regardless. Portions are amazing, we did have to take some of our food home. Indoors was also so beautiful! I recommend coming here for a small cute brunch. It would be difficult for a large party though if you wanted to get seated indoors. I would definitely come back!!

Thought I'd give it a go. As most have stated the place was tiny. Wife ordered the wet burrito with asada. She got it with both the red and green sauce. Green sauce was pretty tart, red was ok. The worse part was the asada, tiny bits burnt to a crisp. Definitely not worth it. I had the chilaquiles and added a steak. I assumed it would have been carne asada or arrachera but I'm not sure what cut it was. Just look at my picture. The egg and steak didn't come on the plate so I threw it together for the pic. Other pic shows how it came separately and man is that a sad steak :( I wanted to try the cafe de olla but it wasn't ready so I can't comment on that. I guess I gave it a try but doubt I'd come back. If you're looking to take fancy pics this is probably your place but if you want amazing Mexican food go elsewhere....

I'm not going to lie, I'm more of an Orange County girl. But it's my new mission to find all the local Long Beach hidden gems. And I hit the jackpot with mother's kitchen. This place is locally owned and operated. The owners son, Habid was our waiter and took great care of us. It's also, woman owned. The owner, Ericka also has a gorgeous vintage / antique / shabby chic shop in Long Beach. And this reflects in her gorgeous restaurant decor. (Everything is so pink, including their tacos on taco Tuesday) It's street parking. when we walked in, Habid instantly greeted us and sat us down. We came around 2 pm. They do close at 3 pm. So it's a breakfast, brunch and lunch place. They only have 5 tables. Which fill up VERY fast. I wanted to try a couple different things. So we ordered the - Potato taquitos plate (comes with rice and beans) -Chicken burrito wet style -Chilaquiles (pick what sauce you want, how you want your eggs and what cheese) and comes with rice and beans. -And a side order of home fries with onions and bell peppers (huge portion for the price) We went for mostly lunch items. Although they have some incredible breakfast items (their French toast is very popular) After we ordered all that food, the owners son moved us to a larger table so we would have more room for everything. Which was really thoughtful of him. Seriously, the customer service he provided was amazing Everything came out in a very timely manner, it was the best rice I've ever had. Wasn't overcooked or undercooked, not too salty or spicy. It had the best texture and flavor. Same with the beans. So flavorful and not masked with tons of salt Everything was perfectly seasoned and tasted extremely fresh. The prices are great. Especially for the amount of food you get. The portions are very large. When we asked about the dessert options (they don't have a lot of choices. They have things like cookies and etc.) unfortunately they were out of everything since it was the end of the day As a yelper with a long list of places I want to try, it's hard to pick places I want to try again instead of trying new places. But I 100 percent will make this place a staple. (Can't wait to get my hands on their burger and pink tacos on taco Tuesday) -I'm in love with the decor. It's seriously so beautiful. It would be perfect for a girls day brunch -The food -The prices -The customer service -And love the fact it's family owned and operated. Come support one of Long Beaches hidden beautiful gems

The food is delicious! I recommend you to try the breakfast burrito soo good! This restaurant is small with very few tables but other than that the restaurant is beautiful. The service was great really nice!

If you're on the hunt for the perfect girls' brunch spot, look no further than Mother's Kitchen. Just a heads-up: if you're driving too fast, you might miss this cute little gem--but trust me, you'll want to slow down for it. Everything about this place screams "girly" in the best way possible. From the adorable décor to the pops of pink, it's the kind of spot that makes you want to snap a few pictures before your food arrives. There's even a few outdoor tables in pink, perfect for soaking up some sunshine with your mimosa. The food? Good and satisfying, but honestly, the vibe steals the show here. It's more about the aesthetic and experience--a place where you just feel happy to linger and laugh with your besties. And let's not forget our waitress--sweet, stylish, and so attentive, adding that extra sparkle to the whole brunch experience. If you love a place with personality Mother's Kitchen is calling your name.

I felt warm and welcoming vibes as soon as we walked in!!! Charming and very cute restaurant that makes food with lots of love! Ordered the chilaquiles with both red and green sauce, the french toast, horchata coffee on ice, and the Bid Burger! The chilaquiles plate was served with a generous amount of beans, rice, and chilaquiles with eggs over easy. Both of the red and green sauces were on point! I would absolutely order this meal again! The flavorful french toast was served with 4 pieces of toast and fresh fruit and a lightly sweetened cream. The delicious horchata and coffee iced drink was refreshing and served with whipped cream. The Bid Burger was served on a warm and soft Hawaiian bun and the fries were crispy and yummy! Bid was very friendly and helpful, excellent service! I highly recommend this spot, it's a new favorite of mine! There is plenty of street parking!

This is a quaint restaurant tucked away on Orange Avenue in Long Beach and could be easy to miss. Inside is beautifully decorated. Inside has 5 tables and indoors it seats 12 people. Not ideal for large parties but a great spot for a couple since four of the five tables seat 2. Pink and peach florals are draped throughout with candelabra chandeliers. I ordered a breakfast burrito to go. Opening the bag I was pleasantly surprised at the size. Unwrapping it I was a bit disappointed feeling how greasy it was. Not something I enjoyed. I really did like this place and was hoping for a new go to for breakfast. I ate a quarter of it and tapped out. Street parking only but you will not have to walk far. This is me and my daughter's 2nd time here. The first time we came we had a wonderful experience. Loved the place. They had the sidewalk turned into extra outdoor seating this time. So when we checked in for our reservation they asked if we'd like to sit out or prefer indoors. Indoors please!!! There was a little bit of a wait even with a reservation but we didn't mind it. We like the ambiance of the tiny restaurant. Whe I say tiny I mean 3 tables tiny. One table can fit up to 4 or 5c the other up to 3 and the last up to 4. It's a squeeze... but it was soooo cute. It was like a very pink bridgerton tea party like restaurant.

Upon arrival, the space of this location will surprise you. I thought it'd be a large space, but it was quite small and cramped inside, but they offer outdoor seating on the curb as well. I was quoted a 30 minute wait because my party preferred indoor seating. While waiting, one person arrived saying they called ahead for a reservation of a party of 5/6, which was unfortunate because I wasn't notified about a party that big being ahead of us, the sign in book only showed 2 parties ahead of me with less than 3 people per group. Only one person arrived and took up all that space right away while waiting on their party to arrive, while my entire party waited in the beaming sun. The party eventually arrived at the same time we were sat, which just sucked because my 4 top arrived together and already knew what we'd order. We would've been half way through our meal if they didn't allow that person to sit without their entire party. I think they can improve service and even benefit on a better table/reservation system. However, the food was okay. It was definitely brunch and familiar food, but nothing about it was fresh, unique or even tasted homemade. The sauce on the chilaquiles didn't taste authentic, it tasted like it was from a can. A lot of the food didn't have that home made quality which is what I imagined coming to a small family owned business like this. The theming is gorgeous, and the cafe de la olla was fine, but I do think this place is mostly for the cute vibe and aesthetic.

I've driven by here many times...today was the day to check it out. This is a tiny little space that seats about 15 people. They are family owned and operated. They serve breakfast and lunch. It is so sweet...everything is pink and roses. The decor is really well done! AND, the food does not disappoint. We had the breakfast sandwich on Hawaiian Bread, with egg, bacon and avocado. It was absolutely delicious. It is served with perfectly prepared French Fries. The young man who waited on us was so attentive and personable. Our whole experience was just delightful

Trying several items on the menu provided us a nice sampling of what they have to offer. We enjoyed everything we ordered. My favorite was probably the Brussel sprouts as they were cooked to perfection and not sweet like most restaurants serve them. A close 2nd was the chicken parmesan served over zucchini noodles. The final item ordered was a mushroom pasta with shrimp. The shrimp were fantastic with a light char and perfect flavoring. The pasta was good. It was a bit to spicy for me with the chili oil so I only had a small portion. The inside is simple yet inviting with an open layout. They seemed a bit short staffed, but every one was hustling and honestly we were well taken care of. Sad I won't have another opportunity to try more of the menu, but grateful to squeeze in this visit before they close in about a week.

It did look quite busy on the patio when we checked in with the hostess. We were informed that it would prob be about 20 minutes or so for a table and if we wanted to wait at the bar. Exactly what we did. Bar area had maybe 5/6 hi top chairs that look onto the bar. Gabriel and Francisco who were working was knocking the drinks out one by one. Sitting there and just watching them create magic for everyone, it was quite amusing. Seeing how it's made and presented with precise detail, it was an art. While waiting for the table we started off with the raspberry lychee martini and the spicy margaritas. Both were great. The right amount of kick with each sip. Gabriel was knocking them out one by one and man was he busy. Fransisco took are of us while we were eating which we ended up just having our dinner at the bar instead. The last time I remembered the chicken Parmesan which was excellent. So we started off with the grilled prawns as a starters. Five prawns in a skewers and grilled with a delicious sauce accompanied. It was tasty and quite delicious. Decent size and meaty for each bite. Entrees was a little mishap as our meal was mistakenly given to the party next to us which they enjoyed. Honesty mistake but we laughed it off. Kitchen was informed and a rushed was put on our order. We weren't in a rush so it was fine with us. They apologized and graciously offered us a dessert after dinner. Something simple but very graceful for the honest mistake. Entrees, the wild mushrooms pasta which was quite tasty and pretty decent in size. The cream sauce which wasn't too over powering the meal was great. Each bite was very tasty. Then there was the chicken Parmesan which why we were here and expecting. The last visit it was excellent with grilled broccolini, slices of tomatoes on top and mozzarella cheese and onto spaghetti pasta. It was great. Thinking it would be the same this time which it wasn't. This visit, it was just served with squash pasta and buffalo mozzarella on top. Honestly it wasn't what I expected, somewhat of a little disappointed. Chicken was good don't get me wrong. But the hot meat with sauce and then you have literally COLD squash pasta paired with it. It was a little underwhelming. Overall, we still had a nice experience. The place was pretty full and of course the lakers were on so it was fun seeing everyone cheering them on. Bar seating for a meal was great as we had fun conversations with both Gabriel and Francisco. Plus they were cranking them drinks out one by one. Excellent in what they do. The drinks were great, grilled prawns and wild mushrooms pastas were excellent. Chicken parm, this time was a miss. Overall, we enjoyed our meal and cocktails. Also the dessert, highly recommend the Cinnabon with vanilla ice cream. Wow, it went down very well. Hoping next time will outdo this.

I noticed the filet mignon on the menu paired with broccolini and decided to go for it. From the moment we walked in, the experience felt completely different. The hostess was warm and welcoming and seated us immediately. A young man came over right away with waters and took our drink order, which already surprised us in the best way. Then Alex S came to our table, and he truly made the night exceptional. He was friendly, attentive, and incredibly helpful in making sure my order was exactly how I wanted it. I mentioned that I didn't want a large piece of butter melting over the steak, and he happily accommodated that request. He even checked on the exact ounce size of the filet for me, which I appreciated. We ordered the Brussels sprouts appetizer, and honestly, they were the best Brussels sprouts we've ever had. Perfectly cooked, not drowning in sauce, and absolutely packed with flavor. My 8 oz filet mignon was cooked perfectly medium rare, exactly as ordered. The broccolini was crisp, fresh, and not overly oily. Everything tasted thoughtful, balanced, and worth every dollar. Most importantly, Alex S delivered spectacular service from start to finish. We were genuinely shocked to learn this was his first night shift because he handled the dining room with professionalism, warmth, and confidence far beyond what we expected. Thank you, Alex S, for completely changing our impression of 908. Tonight's experience was excellent, and for the first time, we are actually excited to come back. Thanks again, Jed Dornoff

Bristy, our server, thoroughly explained the details of certain dishes such as the Mac & Cheetos. She also checked in on our table throughout the meal and came around often to refill our water. As for the food itself, it was very delicious. My favorite dish was the artichokes. They had a somewhat smoky flavor and the outermost leaves were crunchy and a nice contrast to the soft inside of the artichokes. They were also served in a tangy sauce that complimented the vegetable well. My friend's favorite item was the macaroni and cheese. It was chewy and creamy, and the pasta, which Bristy informed us was made in-house, was what my friend thought elevated the dish because it was a nice texture. We additionally ordered the gumbo which was also tasty but not as yummy as the other two dishes that we ordered. It is not a spicy dish if one is concerned about spice level. As for the ambiance of the restaurant, we enjoyed how the atmosphere felt casual and almost like you were sitting in somebody's house (the wallpaper and interior design is pretty) while still maintaining an elegant aesthetic design. If I was in the area, I would return to The Attic for dinner. My friend and I had a very welcoming and positive experience in terms of the service and food respectively at this establishment.

We came on a weekday so getting a table quickly wasn't an issue. Points for the service. The…read morehostess and server were good. The restaurant has multiple parts. There is inside seating what looks like a converted house? There is outside seating at tables or at the bar. The menu was interesting which had a theme of shrimp; there was eggs Benedict with shrimp, but not an item to order a regular one without it? Sure maybe could have ordered and asked without shrimp but pay the same price? Pass. Ok when I called they mentioned they serve brunch until 3? 3:30 I can't remember. The server mentioned they serve the brunch all day? Either way when I got to ordering this month on the menu it highlighted the shrimp po boy. I tried to order and nope, out. How can you be out of the item highlighted as the special in the middle of the day? When the place is not packed? I tried to order the lobster roll and again, out. I was tempted to order their short rib poutine since in theory it sounded good, but at this point I tried something simple I would hope they have in the kitchen chicken and waffles. The plate came and it looks good. If you look at the picture at the bottom of the chicken you can see a dark something. As I lift my chicken I found a huge burnt piece of breading pictured next. On top of the chicken is green onion I think? Who eats that with chicken and waffles? If I am wrong, a garnish is totally unnecessary for this dish. The chicken was moist. There are spices in the flour breading I can see but hard to taste what it is. The waffle is a hard pass for me. The waffle was crispy which is good, but also thin and dry and I couldn't taste any sweetness until I put maple syrup on it. The syrup came out warm which was nice. It's clear watching the people at the bar this is a local hangout. The chicken and waffles were $19 which if I was in the bay I think it's about right, but I think a little high considering the level of food I got. Supposedly this place is packed specifically on Sundays. The server doesn't know why? I'm not interested to even try to come back for a second chance and just be told sold out of the menu.

It is an outdoor rooftop style restaurant. It offers great laid-back atmosphere. perfect for catch up, date night dinner or company relaxing dinners. I ordered steak and a cheesecake. They were phenomenal. Service was good. Our waiters served our 10+ people table with ease.

Tell me to meet you somewhere and I'll be there. Simple as that and less stress for me. Anyways, that's how we ended up at this place. Trying to find happy hour with food in the area was somewhat a challenge. Either they were finishing up or it wasn't that interesting on the menu. Of course some places offered amazing drink deals but no food. We ended up here actually across the street still looking up for places but the rooftop patio was what caught our attention. The restaurant itself looked bare as there was no one inside. Still on the early side but noticing people going in and then heading up stairs. After a few debates on here and there, we gave up and found our way here. Checked in with the host, letting him know that we just wanted happy hour upstairs. It was about two flights of stairs which the place looked quite industrial with all the metal beams and stairs. Downstairs was beautiful but completely emptied. Everyone wanted to utilize the rooftop patio as it was beautiful out. We were greeted by someone which mentioned to us that any bar seating was available. There was a section towards the back that was pretty lively. I think it was booked for a group. Instead of the bar area, we asked to sit along the rooftop counter that looks out to the street and building across the street. Way better view and perfect way to spend the afternoon hours. Staff were all pretty sweet and very friendly. Whatever we needed they were they to help. Both the regular menu and happy hour menu were quite impressive. As we just wanted HH, it was given. They had drink special for 10.00 and small bites for 10.00 as well. Didn't hesitate and started off with some drinks. The red sangria with mixed fruits was a nice clean and refreshing treat. Tasteful without that aftertaste. And the Le Pistolet Fumant, a delectable tasty drink with mezcal with a hint of pineapple. And other well drink that was perfect for a nice afternoon. HH drink special was quite tasty to start off. Food wise, started off with an order of the Caesar salad, simple but delicious. Fresh crisp Romaine lettuce and slices of Parmesan and crouton bits. Nice crunch with each bite. The dressing, wow pretty tasty. And an order of the Mac and Cheese . Most places it's either a hit or a miss and let me say it was a HIT. Quite cheesy and full of flavors that a second order was had. A dish I do recommend for HH. We also had an order of the Brussels sprouts which was excellent. A nice glaze and crunchy with chunks of house cured pancetta. Nice big chunks I must say. Lastly the beef sliders with Wagyu beef patties. Honestly, this was the least favorite of the dishes we got. You would think it sounded great but it was quite tasteless and nothing major to report on. Served with brioche bun and shredded lettuce and tomatoes and a lemon aioli. I had high hope for it when I saw the group next to us order it but it was a little disappointing. Overall, the Mac and cheese, Caesar salad and Brussels sprouts were all hits. The sliders, disappointing. Other items on HH didn't look too ingesting for us but it was for other people. The rooftop lounge and bar area was the place to be when we were there. It picked up real fast after we got seated. Picnic style tables being occupied by large groups before HH ended. Just the rooftop alone was great and beautiful. It a place that's good for a drink and meal with friends. Downstairs was beautiful but seemed more of an intimate experience. Overall, it was a great choice for a meal during HH.

Our waiter Karn stayed friendly, attentive, and made sure we were taken care of the entire time, which honestly made the experience even better. We ordered the Thai Iced Tea, Calamari S&P, Crab Rangoon, Seafood Medley (medium spice), Orange Chicken, Pad See Ew with chicken, and Spicy Fried Rice with chicken (medium spice). Every dish came out hot, fresh, and full of flavor. The Calamari S&P was crispy and seasoned perfectly, the Crab Rangoon had a great crunch with a creamy filling, and the Seafood Medley was packed with seafood and had just the right level of spice and leftover sauce for the white rice on the side. The Orange Chicken was crispy with a flavorful sauce, the Pad See Ew was rich, and the Spicy Fried Rice had amazing flavor with a nice kick. The food, atmosphere, and especially the service made this such a great experience. You can tell the team works hard to keep everything running smoothly even during a rush. Definitely looking forward to coming back!

Every dish we've tried has been full of flavor and genuinely worth ordering. Surprisingly, compared to other Thai spots, it's usually not overly packed and honestly I'm almost scared to say that because I don't want it to change. The service has always been great, the food comes out quickly, and the portions/prices feel reasonable. So far, our favorites have been the pad see ew, tom yum soup (medium spice), egg fried rice, fried calamari and the beef BBQ which was so good we immediately ordered a second plate. The mango sticky rice is also really good, but the portion is on the smaller side, so we ended up getting two orders since one plate is hard to share with more than 2-3 people. Parking has been easy for us so far since there's both a parking lot and nearby street parking. Definitely one of our favorite restaurants that's officially in our regular rotation.
