Stopped by here on a Friday class. Located in an industrial area it is kind of random where the location is. Parking sucks a little bit of plenty of street parking. We ordered the Mia café, breakfast and Chilaquiles. Both are very aesthetically appealing and also very filling. About $19 per plate. Don't forget about their lattes it is excellent! Service is good attentive and they were incredibly accommodating. I'd like to come back and try their things on the menu.
I haven't been eating a lot since my surgery but today I woke up and had an ungodly craving for chilaquiles. I did a quick yelp search and this place came up. (I never would of known about this place if it wasn't for Yelp) I only live a couple miles from here. It is tucked away It has private parking and some outdoor and indoor seating (again, would not of known about this place if it wasn't for yelp) Maria greeted us and told us to sit anywhere. In the middle of waiting for, Maria to take our order, I got extremely sick. Between not eating much lately, the medication from surgery and the pain, it felt like I was going to faint and I started to get shaky. I came here with my mom, so she went to the counter to see if there was anything small and already made that I could eat In a hurry. Carlos, overheard everything and started getting me some country potatoes. Which came to the table within 2 minutes. I am extremely thankful for this and honestly, some places wouldn't have done this / made it a priority. So right out the gate, 5 stars for service. (When the bill came they didn't even charge me for them) after we paid, I went to the back and thanked Carlos. Now with that out of the way The place is really cute. It's your typical breakfast/brunch/lunch place that closes at 2:30 They have a simple brunch menu. They have your breakfast burritos, wagyu brunch burger, omelets and their the churro French toast looked amazing!! We got plain pancakes and they did have sugar free syrup, which is a bonus. Not all places have it Chilaquiles - you can pick between green sauce, red sauce or creamy chipotle sauce. I LOVE any kind of chipotle sauce. So I asked if they could do the red sauce and chipotle sauce. (The creamy chipotle was out of this world) it came with beans and country potatoes. Maria asked if I wanted eggs or meat, I declined. I also asked for no onions or cilantro. Which is exactly how it came out. The beans were also amazing. They tasted fresh and homemade. Nothing was overly salty This place also had a good size selection of drinks (such as different coffees) however, I did not notice if they had mimosas and other alcohol beverages. Cute little atmosphere Good menu and good food And I'm really thankful for the service. Staff went above and beyond I would 100 percent come back. It had a good steady amount of people, I wish it wasn't so tucked away, so more people knew it was here if you drove past it

This is my second time coming here , the service is always so welcoming , Maria was our server & she was so kind . The food here is good , today I got the steak & eggs , medium rare , it was perfectly cooked . The potatoes here are good , not to salty or bland . My friend got the chilaquiles, he said it was also really good , he got half red & green salsa with steak added . The cafe de olla they serve is so good , as well as the Jamaica . The restaurant itself if diner style , colorful . We will definitely be back !

Pleasant surprise for a small restaurant with one cook and picnic tables outside. The food was so good and the service super friendly and efficient. Off the beaten path, so it wasn't as crowded as some restaurants at the center of town. We didn't have 45 minutes to wait on a Saturday morning so called Mia's and found there was a 10-15 minute wait. While there was a steady stream of guests, not a lot of waiting for tables. Really pleasant experience!
Mia's Cafe is tucked away a few blocks off Willow Ave, and unless you work in that commercial area you'd never know it even existed. Mia's is a cute little place that has a fun French vibe, but a more Hispanic menu. Don't get me wrong, the food was good, and the serving size was pretty decent, but I felt like there was a bit of an identity crisis happening. Parking was easy, and there's patio seating, so if it's a nice day, you can sit in the sun and enjoy your coffee and pancakes. Our server was great and on point. The meals weren't too pricy, and pretty much what you'd expect to pay nowadays. Overall we enjoyed our first visit. Be sure to check them out if you're tired of the usual breakfast spots in Signal Hill/Long Beach.
After a 12-hour night shift, I had to get my tires fixed and ended up handing my car over to the capable hands of the shop. With some time to spare, I walked down to Mia's Cafe--and I'm glad I did. This is a cute, family-owned café with a welcoming feel. I ordered a coffee (of course!) and the avocado toast--something light enough to keep me going without putting me to sleep. And let me just say... this was real avocado toast, not guacamole spread. It came with a fried egg, bacon, spinach, and fresh sliced avocado, and it was satisfying and well put together. Nothing over-the-top, just a solid, enjoyable breakfast. Service was great--I was greeted warmly, attended to quickly, and my food came out fast, which was exactly what I needed after a long shift. Overall, a nice, easy stop for a quick bite and good service. They also have outdoor seating. Parking is challenging but still doable.
Came here with a big party of 10 the food was authentic & flavorful. Spectacular service! All the dishes were delicious. The chilaquiles were definitely tasty. I also tried the ice coffees and they were good! Our server was really attentive. Will definitely be coming back!
This is a small restaurant with really good food! Parking was a bit of a challenge, but was able to park out on the street. We were three, and there was a bit of a wait as there are minimal tables. I had the turkey club and it was amazing. I am not often a fan of sandwiches so that is saying a lot. The service was very friendly and if I am ever back in the area I would definitely go again!

There's picnic tables outside and smaller tables available on the inside. We were seated on arrival around 10 am, but there was a slight wait once we were finished. The prices are average and menu isn't overwhelming. Our server was attentive and friendly. I ordered Mia's breakfast platter, which came with eggs, bacon, chicken sausage and my choice of French toast or pancakes. Everything tasted decent except the house potatoes were slightly undercooked in my opinion. Side note: The restroom is slightly hidden around a corner so signage directing customers to it would be helpful.
I found this place because it appeared on my Instagram feed and decided to try it out! Mia's café can be located in an industrial area in Smill Hill, which is part of Long Beach. There was plenty of parking and indoor and outdoor seating. The waiter was outside and kept the door open for us. We sat down immediately. There were a couple of other tables. It seemed like our waiter was solo, but he handled all the guest very well. I believe our waiter's name is Marvin, he was polite, attentive, and had a great customer service with everyone. My daughter and I ordered the Chilaquiles's with ribeye that came with eggs and potatoes and the fancy French toast. I wasn't sold under coffee either. I love me a good café diner coffee and this one just didn't give anything for me. We've had Chilaquiles's at other restaurants so we might be a little biased and we're not sold on them completely. They just lacked the right flavor and the ribeye had tons of fat. We were hoping that they had a different type of steak for them, but we left most of the meat on the plate because of the fat. The French toast was amazing! The presentation and the flavors were all there. There is a cream cheese frosting in between the French toast. That was amazing. Prices were a little higher than I expected for the location. Overall, it's a nice spot for breakfast/lunch.
Was in the Long Beach area and stopped by Mia's Cafe for a late breakfast--and it did not disappoint. I ordered the Pork Belly Brunch Burrito, and it was absolutely amazing. The pork belly was cooked to perfection--tender, flavorful, and they definitely don't skimp on the portion size. Every bite was packed with flavor. Pro tip: ask for their spicy hot sauce--it's not automatically served, but it takes the burrito to another level. The burrito also came with a side of potatoes and peppers, which were a great complement to the meal and well-seasoned. The outdoor seating area really added to the experience. It has a relaxed, laid-back vibe that's perfect for enjoying a slow brunch, especially with the Long Beach weather. On top of that, the staff was friendly, attentive, and genuinely helpful, which made the visit even better. Overall, Mia's Cafe is definitely worth checking out if you're in the area. My husband and I had a superb breakfast today at Mia's Cafe. This small unassuming restaurant in an industrial area is the epitome of the phrase a "hidden gem." When I first told my husband that I wanted to try breakfast at Mia's Cafe he didn't seem too enthusiastic about it but after a few sips of his iced mocha latte and a few bites from his Mia's Breakfast Platter he was more than pleasantly surprised. I also had the same meal but asked for my eggs sunny side up and they were perfect. The pancakes were delicious. The sausage was the best chicken sausage I've ever had. Apart from the eggs (because I ate those up--I mean, come on now, who saves sunny side up eggs for later?), I saved half of my meal for another day. It's a lot of food! The place is cute and clean. The miniature succulent on the table is a nice touch. Maria was the server for everyone and she's sweet and efficient. And I really loved the music that was playing overhead. I can't think of anywhere else I've been where they played songs that included: The Wallflowers' "The Difference," Audioslave's "Like a Stone," and Paul Young's "Every Time You Go Away." It was like they meant to play a song from almost every decade of my life. Enjoying a relaxing and scrumptious breakfast with my husband on a beautiful SoCal morning is something you can't really put a price on--and breakfast at Mia's Cafe was a wonderful way to start the day. read more

Well, it really is a little hidden gem. I don't think we've had anything we didn't like. Chilaquiles. French toast, coffee, matcha and a new food favorite for myself- croquet monsier. Service is quick, they're friendly but the guy can be a little blunt (if you're not used to it) not rude or anything just very direct and also very detailed and attentive. It is a small place so depending on the time of day, be prepared for a little wait... the patio is perfectly shaded and the only downside is that the inside is too small to accommodate a large party although i don't think it would be impossible... read more

Is this the best brunch spot in Signal Hill / Long Beach? Definitely maybe. I had the perfect vanilla latte (not too sweet and good coffee flavor), the cowboy eggs, and the veggie grilled cheese. Everything was cooked so well and full of flavor. I'll be back for sure. Super delicious!!! read more
Wow this place was amazing! It's small so make sure you're there early if you want a seat :) the orange juice was phenomenal, the pancakes were perfectly soft but cooked, and the country potatoes were PERFECT. I can't wait to go back and try the chilaquiles! read more
Small little joint but we were seated fairly quickly, within 15 minutes, for Saturday brunch around noon. Place was clean, service was great, the iced coffees were delicious (not too strong and not too sweet), food was good - would come back to try some of their other plates! Also, there is a small parking lot and also lots of street parking available so that wasn't a struggle. read more
Highly highly reccomend stopping into Mia's Cafe! The food is truly delicious ! We came in on Saturday morning around noon and only had to wait to be seated about 10 mins or so! As we waited, we ordered a hazelnut ice coffee, which was delightful. When we sat down, we each ordered burritos - modified! I asked for mine with chicken and no pico de gallo. My only knock down was, they didnt put the country potatoes in my burrito. Only on the side! But honestly, the burrito was so delicious, I couldnt even complain! My gf ordered the ribeye burrito but with an addition of pork belly! She absolutely loved it! The meat was tender and the pork belly was melt in your mouth worthy! As we were waiting to eat, we spotted some people next to our table ordered Cafe De Olla! My gf was curious...so of course we ordered it! And look, when i tell you that i don't like coffee and I thought this was NEXT LEVEL....is not a lie! Haha! I cannot rave about it enough! We will be coming back for that alone! We also ordered a side of fruit, which was just right! And a cup of hot water! Anthony, who was our server, was marvelous! He was super helpful in our modifications and was kind and hospitable! So if Anthony is there, give him some love! All in all, the place is wonderful! Not a lot of seating. But they have both indoor and outdoor! It definitely is off the beat and path but the it has a 4.5 on here. Parking is limited, you have to park on the street, which there is plenty of. I happen to be off early and my friend that I was hanging with likes to try new places. Right off the bat server was great but it took a long time to get anything we ordered. Even to get a refill on coffee. Breakfast sandwich was very tasty, bacon was cooked as ordered and potatoes were delicious wish for a bigger portion served. Although he mentioned desserts are not made in house I still went for Cheesecake, ahhhh I could have done without. I appreciate the glaze and blueberries, it made it palatable. This place is a hidden gem. It's located on 28th between Junipero & Signal Parkway. Four dishes and all 4 were good. I want to go back already and try some more stuff on the menu. Indoor and outdoor seating is available. It was a nice day to sit outside so I did. The service was great with Anthony leading the charge. He was a 1 man show. I wish this place was open for dinner. Finding Mia's Kitchen in Signal Hill can be a bit of a challenge, but it is clearly a local favorite because even on a Monday morning, nearly every table was packed. The menu offers a great Mexican-American breakfast fusion, and after trying the food, it is easy to see why the place stays so busy. We both went with Mia's breakfast platter, one with pancakes and the other with French toast and paired them with a hazelnut latte that was honestly incredible. The espresso was super smooth with the perfect amount of sweetness, and as someone who is usually sensitive to lactose, I was thrilled that it didn't cause any of the usual bloating. The food itself was just as impressive as the coffee. The pancakes hit that elusive balance of being a little sweet, a little savory, and slightly crispy around the edges. They avoided that common issue of being too dry or heavy on the batter, making them incredibly easy to enjoy. The French toast was equally amazing, clearly made with a high-quality brioche that was rich and buttery. Even the sides stood out; the sausage was perfectly salty in the best way possible. While you might have to hunt a little to find the front door and should definitely expect a longer wait on the weekends, the quality of the meal makes it well worth the effort. They have seatings inside and outside. Pretty nice to sit outside on a sunny day. read more

Food was delicious, but service was where this place got dinged. Not recommended if you were planning eat with your dinner partners at the same time. Looking at the website, we loved that it was a retro family run diner. What we didn't see was that the place gets overrun with takeout orders. As a result, the poor waitress doesn't have time to take orders and the kitchen gets backed up. We arrived at 9:30. We had to wave the waitress down several times before waitress was able to take our order at 9:50. One dish of four arrived at 10:20. Then 10 mins later, two more dishes arrived. Sadly, the crew couldn't eat their meals as we were not given silverware. The over easy egg was served over-cooked. The whole wheat toast was served without butter or jelly. I ended up walking inside to ask for a remake of the eggs and helped bus the butter/jelly. My dish finally came out 10 mins later. The food is fantastic. I had a time before a customer visit and decided to have some breakfast and, as usual, found a place using Yelp. They had a good selection of dishes and I went with the standard which was bacon and eggs and what was nice is you could select French toast. The plate, as you see, was very nicely arranged and not just thrown on the plate. It made it more appealing to the eye. The food was great. First time eating at this location it's in the middle of an industrial area so if you're driving around most likely, you won't run into it unless you're working in the area it's actually pretty small in here. the food itself was really good. Can't complain about that and the service was good. Also, the food is on the pricey side it's almost $30 for chilaquiles with meat they charge u $10 extra for meat even charge you extra for the eggs they usually come with them anywhere else I have them. read more

Nice place, the staff is amazing. Our waiter was so polite and attentive. The wait was about 10 mins but he kept checking on us. The food took a bit longer than normal to come out but the staff made up for it. Went to the bank and quickly searched a breakfast/brunch spot that was close. Mia's came up with 5 stars and decided to try it. We ordered regular French toast w/toppings and (can't remember name) the fried tortillas w/fries egg and red sauce, and a Hazelnut Capp and fresh OJ. The waitress was very nice! She had great service; while a bit slow and she kinda forgot about my Capp and my son's side of eggs. I truly was not bothered b/c she was so nice. I can tell this is a family owned spot. The inside is kinda small, so not really good for large parties imo. There's a small outdoor eating area and the parking lot is a bit small, so we just parked on the street. They've only been opened for 6mos, hopefully business continues to be good. read more

Mia's was the perfect halfway place between where I live and a friend lives. We met there today for lunch and we're served by Marvin an excellent waiter! My friend and I hadn't seen each other in quite a few years so we ended up talking way past finishing our meal and Marvin was very accommodating and refreshed. Our water kept checking in on us and making sure we had everything we needed while not pressuring us to leave. About the food... We both were intrigued by the ribeye burrito and Marvin said it was one of the best things on the menu so we trusted him and he did not lie. We both loved it and the potatoes that came with. It were so good so perfectly crispy on the outside and soft on the inside . Perfect perfection! I kind of wish we had tried two different things, but will be back to do exactly that sometime soon. The churros are next level! This picture does not describe how good they taste. Mia is tucked away in an industrial area so you know the food is good. Because it appeared to be the only restaurant in that area and is probably frequented by a lot of people that work there so you know to have longevity you have to have good food and Mia's has it in spades! This is a cute little cafe with indoor and outdoor sitting. The food was good, well prepared, and very aesthetic. Wait took longer than expected, considering there were a few open tables when we checked in. Biggest complaint is that the check was significantly higher than expected (over $200 for 2 people; 2 meals, 2 drinks, shared dessert). read more

My bestie was in town for the weekend and we absolutely love to try new breakfast spots ! I knew I had to stop by this cafe located in an industrial business area. It's lthe sweet hidden gem! The food was tasteful and delicious . Everyone at my table enjoyed the presentation and service was impeccable! Let's talk about the chorizo chilaquiles, Rib eye chilaquiles and to top of my sweet tooth the Churro French toast .I cannot wait to bring my family again 10/10 read more

What a hidden gem in Signal Hill! This cozy little brunch spot totally stole our hearts. This is my first time trying chilaquiles, and wow--they were amazing! I ordered mine with both green and red sauce, topped with chorizo and over-easy eggs... chef's kiss- it might have all been made from scratch. My husband got the Mia Breakfast Platter and loved every bite- just wished his scrambled eggs were a bit more fluffier and less butter (overall still delish). The place has such a warm, welcoming vibe--feels like it might be run by the sweetest wife & husband duo. Cecilia took care of us and gave us some of the best customer service we've ever had. Seriously, she was so kind and attentive--it made our whole experience that much more special. Plenty of parking, cozy diner feel, and just the perfect spot for brunch.
