This cozy breakfast spot has fantastic matcha drinks and I had a matcha pancake that was tasty and smooth. I really liked the board for suicide awareness where you could leave a note of encouragement.
Such a cute little spot in Long Beach! Zuzu's Petals has a beautiful, charming atmosphere. The service was friendly and helpful, and everything had such a lovely, thoughtful touch. Met some family for a girls breakfast and we each enjoyed our meals and drinks throughly I'll definitely be back!
I absolutely love this place! I have never had bacon melt in my mouth before. I truly can't stop raving and enjoy every time I visit. Although I get annoyed at ordering at the front, I will say they try and speed the process up as much as possible. I've tried quite a few dishes on the menu and still have a few left to experience, but my go to is always something with bacon. The potatoes are cooked perfectly, along with the eggs, and steak (I believe they are cooking sous vide so they turns out perfectly every time) They have outside patio section that is shaded, along with little fans to help in case flies get in the way. This is a perfect brunch spot or a place to take yourself on a solo date, or family that's in town.
It was my first time coming to Zuzu's Petals and I definitely have a lot of thoughts! First, the ambiance and aesthetics are very cute. Everything feels clean, classy and thoughtfully put together. When you first arrive, seeing the line out the door can be a little intimidating. Usually at places like this, I feel like I have to fight for my life to find a table, but thankfully that wasn't the case here. The staff was very kind and asks how many are in your party and helps you get a table, which made everything much less stressful. They also give you menus while you wait so you can decide what you want ahead of time. We arrived at 10:30am and our wait was about 30 minutes so by the time we were able to order at 11am, the lunch menu was also available. I ordered the tater tots, Cinnagave Shaken Espresso, Dutch Baby Pancake and country sourdough toast with jam. With tax and tip, my total came out to around $40. It's definitely pricier than what I normally pay for breakfast. Most entrées range from $17-$34 and coffees are around $5-$10, so you can easily spend $30+ for one person. In these hard times, that's not exactly ideal for me. I also wanted to try a pastry to get the full experience, but when I found out the small blackberry danish was $7, I decided to pass. I just couldn't justify getting that close to $50 for breakfast for one person. Now for the food! The country sourdough toast with jam was actually my favorite item. The homemade sourdough was incredible and honestly deserves its roses. It sounds like such a simple thing, but it was so well done and easily the standout for me. Visually, the Dutch Baby Pancake was beautiful and definitely impressive when it came out. I've always wanted to try one, so I was excited! I will say, I've read everywhere that Dutch babies are supposed to have more of a custardy center and even the photos I've seen look that way. Mine didn't really have that texture at all and tasted more like a crepe. Maybe it was a little overcooked? It wasn't bad, just not quite what I expected. Still delicious! Unfortunately, the tater tots were the biggest disappointment. They weren't crispy, didn't taste seasoned and sort of fell apart until they became one big potato mess. My cousins and I ended up not finishing them. One of my cousins ordered the summer peach and corn salad, which she liked! Just a heads-up that it's only available after 11 a.m. My other cousin got the skillet, she mentioned feeling a little disappointed since it tasted a little dry and didn't finish her plate. However they both ordered the Curious George drink and LOVED it! The Cinnagave Shaken Espresso was also fantastic. Coffee is definitely something they do very well here and I can see myself getting again. Overall, the aesthetics are adorable and I could see this being a great date spot. The coffee was fantastic, the sourdough was amazing, but the rest of the food was just okay for us. That was a little disappointing because everything sounds SO good on paper. Maybe we just caught them on an off day. The prices are probably the biggest thing holding me back from coming back regularly. Spending $30-$40+ per person for breakfast isn't really in my budget right now, but if this is within your price range, you may have a completely different experience. When I review a place, I try to take the overall experience, personal taste and effort into account. For now, I'm leaving Zuzu's Petals at 4 stars because the effort is definitely there, and what isn't my cup of tea may be someone else's liquid gold. I'd still give them another chance in the future... after I get paid!
My boyfriend and I came to have brunch here he got the Bailey plate and I got the breakfast sandwich on sourdough. I loveeeee sourdough but I wish I would've known it could've been that crunchy it kind of took away from how good everything on the side was. The derive was nice and everyone was friendly. The music they were playing was also nice and it was a really cute outdoor seating area. the Dutch pancake we shared was really good too oooooh and their again fresca mimosa was really good and refreshing coming from someone that isn't a big fan of them

My friend and I ordered up front and got to pick our own table. Most of it is self-serve aside from the food, so there was a water station and area to grab extra napkins and utensils as needed. There was outdoor seating so we decided to sit closest to the street for a different vibe! For the food, I got the steak and eggs. I was so blown away! Both the steak and eggs were cooked to perfection. The steak melted in my mouth and tasted so good with the butter sauce! I also loved how crispy the potatoes were and how well everything was seasoned. I'd definitely come back. I surprisingly inhaled the entire thing at 8am on a weekday... it was just that good!!
We ordered and paid first and then sat down with our order number. Cashier was very friendly and helpful. Their Açaí bowl was really good. The base was tastier than most place I've tried. Berry and nut/seed toppings generous. They charged a small Wellness Plan fee and parking in the area overall isn't the easiest.

Reason I took a star is because it's definitely overpriced. Spent 70$ for two people for basically a basic breakfast plate. It's more for the views and the aesthetic. Really great level of music playing very upbeat but smooth jazz and old school songs. Fans are running keeping people nice and cool while enjoying their food. Food was great Very crisp tots, the chicken crispy and juicy great spice and a house made hot honey. Pancakes were dressed perfectly and fluffy not too dense great pairing with the butter they use and the berries giving it a fresh flavor. Skillet great combination of ingredients what they call it the Loaded way but it's loaded with just perfection not a single bad bite. Shout out again to Cori!!! and of course the other staff members!

Was in the area for work and stopped by with my coworker. This place caught our eye because it looked cute and had patio seating. Really love when you can enjoy food and the great weather at the same time. Service was great, the girl at the register and also the servers were friendly and helpful. Food and drink are priced pretty average. A matcha is $7, food ranges from $12-21. Some dishes are pricier but in this economy it's not crazy. I got a hot matcha and a pancake with a side of scrambled eggs. Hot Matcha (3/5) good matcha quality but too sweet. First time visiting and will not be the last! Whenever I am back in the Long Beach area I will come here for breakfast again. It's located on a corner with tons of parking on the streets near by. There was a line out the door, it moved quick though wait wasn't long. You line up and are handed menus, order & pay at counter. Since it was mother's Day weekend, there was tons of roses all over the tables. Their pastries are at the register which looked amazing as well. I came with two of my girlfriends and we all ordered the baileys breakfast with eggs our way. We also were craving something sweet so we ordered a waffle, brioche French toast & the Dutch baby pancake. For drinks we ordered a mimosa, cinnagave shaken espresso, a strawberry matcha, & an elderflower mint spritz. The food and drinks looked & tasted amazing! Staff was very personable and they a have self serve water station. Def one of the best breakfasts ive had in a long time Highly recommend!
Their Curious George (maple banana matcha) was delicious! I don't even love banana matcha like that but I would get it again! The breakfast burrito is a safe option and so is the skillet. I love the outside seating because it feels like a beach town.

Some of the best food you can get in Long Beach. My favorite was the Skillet. My meal was hearty and tasted fresh. The service was prompt and welcoming and the restaurant was clean. Probably one of the best brunch spots you can go to in the area. Would recommend and definitely coming back. read more

Line was out the door but it was quick and sooo worth it! The food was soo delicious -- their breakfast plate had the best scrambled eggs. We were blown away by the matcha pancakes! The hazelnut sauce on top really made them so special and addicting. Even though we finished our own plates, we kept going in for more pancakes! read more

Late Saturday morning, my beautiful wife surprised me with brunch at our new favorite breakfast spot. The line was long, but it moved efficiently to the cashier, and like always, the food was great. The only issue I had was the group of ladies arguing with the supervisor about their seating arrangement. From what I witnessed, the manager remained calm, respectful, and professional toward the group. So I'm not sure why they decided to grace the outdoor seating area with an encore performance of "What I would have done if I were the manager" for the next 20 minutes. I understand that the table felt wronged, and everyone has the right to voice their concerns. But at some point, the nonstop complaining only disrupted the experience of the other customers trying to enjoy their Saturday brunch. As for us, we had another great experience. Great food, great atmosphere, and a professional staff. We'll definitely be back. read more

Stopped by Zulu's Petals for Mother's Day, and I have to say....it was an amazing dining experience from start to finish. First, a heads-up: parking in the area can be a bit of a challenge, so plan ahead and expect to look for street parking. That said, once you arrive, everything runs impressively smoothly. You'll stand in line to place your order at the register, and then they'll seat you. There are two seating options, an indoor patio and an outdoor patio; both with a really cute, inviting vibe. What really stood out was the thoughtful Mother's Day touch. While we were in line, they offered champagne and gave out roses, white for mothers who are no longer with us and red for those who are. Such a beautiful and meaningful gesture. Once seated, drinks came out quickly, and the food followed shortly after. I was genuinely impressed with how efficient and well-organized everything was, especially given how busy it was. For food, I ordered the Dutch Baby, and my companion had the Bailey's Breakfast, both were delicious and well-prepared. Between the great food, charming decor, and amazing service, this place really delivered. I'll definitely be back. read more
I had heard about this place from a TikTok video, and my husband had also told me about it, so I knew we had to check it out. We decided to go last minute on a Sunday, so the line was around the building by the time we got there at around 12:30pm. We waited around 30 minutes, but it wasn't bad. I think you order at the counter and then they find you a table. However, for us and the party in front, they sat us and then just took our order at the table. My husband ordered steak & eggs and we shared lemon ricotta pancakes (because, of course, we needed something sweet). I got the Bailey's, which you can have bacon or sausage, or one of each. Everything was delicious! We finished our dishes and brought the pancake home, which we for sure would have finished if we weren't so full! We both ordered the Curious George, except mine was decaf. So good! I definitely want to try the matcha version next time. It's such a cute little restaurant and staff is super friendly. I didn't get a good look with the street signs, but we were lucky to find a spot right across from the restaurant. Absolutely enjoyed this place and would go back! read more

Happy May y'all! While in Long Beach, I saw this place had killer reviews so I got a few dishes to go and was so happy with my choices. FOOD -Dutch baby pancake. It was delicious and the add-on items were perfect. Highly recommend! -Veggie wrap. Also very good, the sauce was delicious. The veggies had a perfect crunch DRINK -I got their matcha latte with almond milk. it was good and exactly as I expected. PARKING There's construction happening on one road so I parked on the busy road temporarily. Leave yourself time to find parking if that side road is still unavailable. CLEANLINESS Walking into the check out area and it was clean, modern and beautifully decorated. read more

I had such a lovely sunny lunch here at Zuzu's Petals. I ordered the chicken and waffles! The chicken was tender yet crispy and lightly seasoned. This allowed the blueberry compote and cinnamon pecan butter on top of the fluffy and crisp waffle to really shine. Such a yummy balance of the sweet and savory that I was looking for! Washed it all down with their peach & basil agua fresca. Very sweet but very good- I watered it down a bit with some water to my preference and it was perfecto. read more
Got the vegetable burrito to go with a side of smashed potatoes. The food was ready within 15 min. There's no specific pick up place, but i went to the front and asked a server and they were able to bring out my food right away. The smashed potatoes were okay, very garlicky but nothing special. I would go back just for the vegetable burrito though. Packed with different veggies and so flavorful. The sauce was also yummy. read more
I've been wanting to try this place for awhile and finally got around to it. You walk up to the counter to order and then find a seat. I got the chicken and waffles and it was very delicious. Chicken was crispy and it perfectly complimented the waffles. My bf loved his steak and eggs and even ordered pancakes on the side that were so yummy! Parking is difficult unless you come before or after street sweeping. You order at the front and they guide you toward seating, then deliver the order to the table. Customer service was great, but it took a while for the drink and food to arrive. The Yuzu Colada Shaken Espresso and Lobster Omelette were both flavorfully flawless. The salad had some sort of lemon/citrus vinaigrette that was immaculate. Unfortunately, they charge a 4% Wellness Plan fee and the petite portion of the omelette left me hungry. read more

So great that we went there twice in one trip!! The staff is incredibly friendly and attentive, the outdoor seating is cute. But best of all, the food is delicious!!! The first time I got the fried chicken sandwich and this time I got the breakfast skillet which was also superb. All of their drinks are great as well, including their flash brew iced coffee! This place has changed my life. .... OK hear me out: The good is amazing (), great customer service, good location, and good ambience. the first time I went I got the chicken gnocchi and to this day I think about that dish. It was a perfect mix of underlying lemon-y flavor, the crunchy god the asparagus and snow peas, ... I could go on forever. I've also gotten the agnolotti and it's heavenly ! Fun neighborhood restaurant. You order at the counter and then THEY find you a table. No worries about saving a table. You did not have to worry about finding a table. They have unique entrees. We ordered the single pancake that 3 inches high and probably 10 inches in diameter. When we cut into it, it was still raw. No worries, they took it back, figured out that the batter was too viscous and did not have enough milk and corrected it and we obviously got a new pancake. Their customer service is the best. While waiting for the new pancake, they gave us a warmed morning muffin on the house. Totally not necessary, but a nice touch by management. The pancake was well worth the wait, crispy outside and fluffy inside.It is made to be shared. Even when we shared it, we had to take the remainder home. We ordered the breakfast sando(sandwich) which was the perfect amount. Food is good, waitstaff is awesome. A great place to sit and enjoy a relaxing breakfast or lunch. Couldn't check into our hotel earlier so decided to check out Zuzu per our host suggestion. Walk was really short from city center hotel, I probably would say 5 minutes from there. Once we got there, we immediately were seated. You just have to come back to order your food. I got the skillet with strawberry pistachio matcha. I got scared before it arrived because someone else had matcha and said they weren't impressed. Once I got mine though, I was impressed. I loved it. My skillet was really good. It got me fulll and I was able to have leftovers. My boyfriend order the burrito and for the price, there was no sides which was a little disappointing but he enjoyed it. Overall, this place is a great first sport for me while visiting CA. read more

Loved this spot! There's a line to order first and then you are seated. Lined moved fast, super friendly staff that helped answer our menu questions, and food was delicious! The iced vanilla latte was so good too! Can't go wrong with any of the options here! We sat outside and it was nice and a good vibe. read more

Zuzu's Petals has been on my list for quite some time after seeing rave reviews about it on Instagram, and it totally lives up to the hype! I'm not really a breakfast person, but this place definitely converted me because the food and flavor combos were so well done! We got the pear jam matcha latte which was tasty and the perfect amount of sweetness. The pear jam went really well with the matcha! I got the flat iron steak and eggs and they were able to upgrade the side of house potatoes to the crispy smashed potatoes which I was very excited about. The steak was medium rare, perfectly cooked, and had a delicious compound butter on top. I got my eggs sunny side up, and you can see how deeply orange and creamy the yolk is - so good and also had a nice jammy texture! The crispy smashed potatoes were crispy on the outside, perfectly fluffy and tender on the inside, and came with a delicious side of chipotle aioli. Truly every component of this dish was spot on! My partner got the chicken and waffles which came with a blueberry compote, cinnamon pecan butter, and maple syrup. The chicken was super fresh and crispy, and the pairing with the blueberry compote and cinnamon butter on the waffle was the perfect sweet and savory bite! They definitely nailed their take on this popular brunch dish as well. We got there around 11AM and there was a small line but it moved fast. You order at the counter first, and I thought it was a very nice touch that the servers assist with finding tables after you order. Most places you just struggle to look for a table after ordering - so the service is very thoughtful! The owner is also out and about making sure things are running smoothly - refilling the water station and to go boxes and interacting with customers as well! We were seated in a shaded patio area that was cutely decorated for Valentine's Day. Definitely a cute date spot for brunch! I see why this has become such a popular place and we will definitely be back to try more things! read more

Zuzu's is one of my favorite places in Long Beach. Their matcha is so good and the breakfast burrito with soyrizo is my go too! My partner got the chicken and waffles and the flavors were unique and mouth watering. The customer service is excellent and the vibes are filled with love and comfort. Today I visited this restaurant for the second time, and it did not disappoint! I came here with a friend last year and remember loving it, so I knew I had to come back, this time with the hubby! We both ordered the Baileys Breakfast Plate with both bacon and sausage, and I'm so glad we did because WOW, they were both delicious! The bacon was a little on the smaller side, but everything else was so good. The potatoes, bread and jam were especially delicious! The food was beautifully presented, the restaurant was very clean, and I loved that they have self-serve water. I ordered the vanilla latte, which was just okay, but honestly, the food more than made up for it! My hubby ordered the Arnold Palmer and really enjoyed it. The service was also great! The staff was welcoming, friendly, and attentive, which made the experience even better. We came on a Monday, and parking was a little tricky because of street cleaning. The last time I visited was on a weekend, and it was pretty busy then too, so just a heads-up that parking can be tough in the area. Overall, I'm definitely adding this to my list of restaurants to come back to! Great food, great service, and a cute spot to enjoy breakfast. read more
Have been wanting to try this place out for a while. Parking could be a challenge since it's street parking only. It's an order at the counter & sit down after kind of restaurant. Plenty of indoor/outdoor seating that pairs well with Long Beach's warm spring weather. I would say that the food makes it worthwhile. It looks good & tastes even better. Zuzu's was amazing! Quick and friendly service and the food was delicious. I ordered the Bailey plates with bacon, sausage, sourdough, over easy eggs, and house potatoes. everything was cooked perfectly. Over easy eggs are a hit or miss at any restaurant but they cooked the white part just right (I hate runny whites). A must try! read more

Came across this place randomly driving around Long Beach and it was worth the stop. It was after noon so I ordered the smashed burger with tots. They offer patio seating or outside parklet seating. The vibe is a relaxed setting to hang out with family or friends. The decor is retro with the theme from the classic movie 'Its a Wonderful Life' throughout the restaurant. The friendly staff made sure our order was delivered quickly. The burger was cooked to perfection. The tots were nice and crispy on the outside with delicious flavor. The juicy burger is worth every dollar. Like others have said ,the parking is limited to street availability. I happend to park a block away, thank goodness because after eating that burger I needed to walk it off. Can't wait to try breakfast soon...enjoy. read more
