Coffee Parlor (AKA COPA), located off the intersection of Spring and Clark in Long Beach, offers what I think is the best Breakfast Burrito in LA. They use a perfectly cooked over-medium egg, quality bacon, tater tots fried in wagyu tallow, and bacon jam, that's wrapped up in a delicious flour tortilla from Michelin-recommended Burritos La Palma. If you want a high-quality breakfast burrito, then high-quality ingredients are a great start. Their smoky salsa brings the flavors over the top. While some may blink at the cost of the $19 breakfast burrito, I firmly believe the cost is justified with the ingredients they use and the flavors that are put out. I encourage you to try it for yourself, particularly if you appreciate quality and if you're looking for the best. I appreciate their coffee from "Go Get 'Em Tiger". Had a great experience at Copa (aka Coffee Parlor) in Long Beach! I went with the OG Burrito and got the smoky bacon jam on the side, along with a vanilla latte. Everything was really good, and the bacon jam was a great addition. The atmosphere is welcoming, and the staff was super friendly. It was pretty busy when I went, but my order came out surprisingly quickly. One thing to note: if you pay by credit card, there is a 3% credit card surcharge. Great spot. Would highly recommend the breakfast. The burritos and the breakfast sandwich are my go to. The burgers are tasty. I appreciate the fact that they fry their potatoes and beef tallow. You can really taste a difference I experienced this rare occasion where a drink listed on the seasonal drink menu was written out in a way that gave the impression I was buying a milk-tea and not a coffee base drink. Once it was made, I noticed the taste after walking out the door. I immediately came back to the barista and asked her if she can take the COFFEE out. She looked at me and said she'd have to charge me, even after explaining to her that their menu is a bit confusing based on how the specialty drink was written as a tea. I didn't feel comfortable continuing to argue the points so I just took the drink and discreetly threw it in the trash because I do not like coffee. As much as I order for my office and as often as I pick up from this location, this one incident completely threw me off. Being fair I do understand companies have cost, but my goodness I made a great point about the description. I can't lie. It was a bit of a turn off. I don't think I've ordered a drink since and I've been back at least 20 times. So calculate the cost of a drink which is roughly 9 dollars - each time that is revenue, this company has not received Other than that the few breakfast items I order are always consistent and the kitchen staff are the best. If anything, I know they remember you when you walk in because I can see you from the window. I can appreciate that. Just a note Please be consistent with the guacamole. We came here on Mother's Day for breakfast and luckily beat the crowd of other families who had the same idea! They only have indoor seating here so you'll definitely want to make sure you snag a table. They have a breakfast menu if you want to eat as well. The JR burrito was delicious but not wrapped proportionately, so I didn't even get any tater tots until the very last few bites. The breakfast burger had a nicely cooked egg but the bread seemed a little stale. Loved their blueberry latte which is on the seasonal menu! My husband and I have stopped by this coffee shop 3 times and tried a couple things. On this day he tried the cold brew with agave and a cold foam top, I got the iced vanilla latte! They're both delish! We also tried the chorizo breakfast burrito and omggg it was sooo good. We will deff be getting it again. 3.5 stars I came on a Saturday and it was cracking. I like that they have an expansive food menu - there's tons to choose from. It's a nice place to grab a coffee and some food without the fuss of having to wait for a table. I ordered the matcha latte ($6.00) + a shot (+$2.00). The added shot really messed the flavor of the matcha. I shall never do that again. It also made my drink exponentially more expensive. We shared an egg and cheese breakfast sandwich ($10) and added bacon (+$4.00). The sandwich comes with eggs, cheddar cheese and mayo on a brioche bun. This was good! Though, I'd probably not add the bacon next time because the sandwich could stand alone. For 2 drinks and a shareable sandwich, we spent a cool $30 which is kinda a lot. Coffee Parlor gives a little bit of corporate. I look for cozy when I'm coffee-shopping. This space felt a little informal and the prices were a tad steep. We ended up having to wait for an additional 30 mins past that quoted time making our total wait time almost an hour. They should improve on their timing. I found the cute storefront in a tiny strip mall where parking was limited. I was lucky enough to snag a spot. Customer service was great. The employee at the register was very friendly. He also convinced me on trying one of their pastry items even though I had confidently got in line thinking I would get away with my cappuccino. But nope! He sold me on how they bake their goods in-house. I got a cappuccino with almond milk. Totally solid drink and was everything I wanted from the 8oz. Bold tasting coffee smoothened out with the milk. I ordered their banana walnut chocolate chip muffin, which was delicious. Loved the soft, doughy crumb, and I appreciated that it did taste like it was homemade. Coffee Parlor is the place that introduced me to orange juice with a shot of espresso (Spro-J) and there's no turning back for me. One of my favorite unexpected "it shouldn't be good" but I absolutely love combos. It's been years and I am so thankful to come across it on a random morning coffee run. CoPa has evolved quite a lot and now has a lot of seating inside for patrons to chat, work, or simply eat. Inviting, bright, vibes. Service is friendly and quick. It can get busy on the weekends! Coffee here is great, love their seasonal and the staples. Definitely recommend for a neighborhood caffeine fix. The reason for the 4 stars is because of the pricing - $18.5 for their main burrito is quite a lot (+ extra for salsa!) and although it was really good (highly recommend trying it if you can!) the lack of consistency is what makes me hesitate to get it often. Sometimes it's large enough to feed two people and sometimes it's so sad and skinny. Ingredients are all there (love the crispy tater tots!), I think it just depends on who's cooking it up in the back. Also noticed the orange juice in the Spro-J has changed, not sure what it is but it seems less fresh and definitely more comes out of a jug - we used to have to grab the fresh OJ from the front fridge to bring it back but alas no longer? First i love that they have veggie/vegan options. The latte was great - perfect sweetness just how i like it. The burrito was super filling. I liked that it had some veggies in it too. I couldn't always taste the soy chorizo but i saw it was in there. Overall really liked it! The cafe is in a small strip mall and there may be limited parking but there's also street parking. The cafe was pretty busy when I came in which was a Wednesday mid morning so it seems like a spot people come to work for a few hours or maybe meet friends or coworkers. Honestly- this is a tough review. COPA has my most favorite breakfast burrito in the city - the OG. The tortilla, the flavors, the salsa - it is all excellent. But at the end of the day it's egg, bacon, tots, and salsa. There is nothing exorbitant or ground breaking or expensive in those ingredients. And I would probably get at least 52 a year because they are just that good if they didn't charge $20 for it - but I just can't justify it. Oh and if you decide to share it with your partner they charge an 1.50 for an extra salsa on top of the $20 burrito. Every time I go there I just feel a little ripped off. I do go - because it is so damn good. But $30 per person for a breakfast burrito and coffee just leaves an icky taste in my wallet. It is there business and I am sure they know more than me about pricing and food costs - but I can tell you I can't imagine me being alone if this this was $14 as a local I would get one once a week. A $20 burrito should be the weight of a small infant. It's not big enough or fancy enough for what they charge - even if it is that good. It was $13 like 3 years ago - check the yelp photos. Price hasn't matched inflation. If you want a $15 burrito that is big enough for Breakfast and Lunch - check out LJs Lil Cafe in cypress.
