    Bel Canto Books displayed.

I had the breakfast burrito and Red Eye, both are amazing, two thumbs up on freshness and flavor. Service is friendly, local, and down to earth where professionalism and personalized service meet. I purchased books from their Bel Canto Books display, one of which was an autographed copy. Local artists displayed, and plenty of tables for the space making it a great coffee shop hangout.

Steel Cup Café (opened in May 2019) is a local coffee & cafe in Long Beach that focuses on making all food in house and from scratch. [Parking]: Easy and free strip mall parking lot in early weekday morning. [Atmosphere]: This cafe feels like your small, local, and cozy cafe - not too much to check out in the surrounding area. There are 6 regular tables and 3 high top tables inside of the cafe. [Menu]: The cafe focuses more on food than drink items. The food menu focuses on American comfort food. The top 3 highlights as recommended by Yelp are Breakfast Sandwich, Brunch Burrito (they call it the granddaddy of all breakfast burritos), and Avocado Toast. 10% military discount, 5% student discount, and 5% bring-your-own-cup discount. *** Breakfast Sandwich (Your favorite bread, scrambled eggs, cheddar cheese, and stuffed with your choice of protein - sourdough per cashier's recommendation + sausage - $14): It was a great tasting sandwich with toasty breads and good sausage. Also enough portion to have two separate meals. *** A solid 4.5-star on breakfast sandwich and bump up to 5-star on friendly service. Not sure this is an ideal date spot, but you come to the right cafe if you are looking for some good food. I enjoyed their breakfast sandwich enough that I will probably come back here again to try their brunch burrito.

Cheers! Chai Tea Latte with whole milk (the best kind)

I first passed this spot while running errands nearby and bookmarked it as one of the well-reviewed, dog-friendly cafes to come back to. Well, with my building testing the fire alarm system, it was high time to check it out! Steel Cup Cafe is larger than it initially lets on, with ample table seating to the left when you enter and a high table area on the right. You can choose from the many generously sized pastries from the counter or order from their all-day breakfast menu (as I did). The brunch burrito saved me from "hanger" and I had to pack the last quarter to go. Chai tea latte with whole milk is solid; I'll have to try the coffee next time! There must have only been one server behind the counter and one person in the kitchen, but service here is excellent. It's all smiles and the gentleman even helped me box up my burrito when he saw how many items I was carrying for both myself and my rescue dog. If I had to nitpick one thing, when I came, it was a warm day and noticeably stuffy inside. With the number of customers present, I wish there had been better circulation in the back. Not a deal-breaker, but I suppose unavoidable when it gets as busy as it does!

This is my new go-to coffee and brunch spot in Long Beach. Everything they make is straight fire. Coffee- fire. Burgers- fire. Burritos- fire. Fries- double fire. Bathroom cleanliness and bike parking- also fire. Suggestion.... Get the early bird breakfast burrito with their house made sausage, and fries in the side. You're welcome.

We have always split early bird burritos.... Now comes with potato and avocado and a side!

Drop by the refreshed Steel Cup cafe. Looks great and It is as delicious as ever! Some menu changes and even merchandise! As always, Nicholas is a great owner ! Shout out to Ruth who makes an awesome latte and is always cheerful! They do sell their homemade salsa which is complex and tasty!

Very cozy hangout spot. I came for a quick breakfast. They got elaborate breakfast dishes. They also have great coffee!

The best coffee - hot or iced it does NOT disappoint!

This is hands-down one of my favorite spots! The coffee is always amazing and the food never disappoints either. But I love most is the vibe - the staff are so friendly - it's just a nice place to eat or get some work done. I always feel comfortable here whether I'm meeting someone or just hanging out with my laptop for a bit. Highly recommend if you're looking for great coffee, great food and even better people!

I was looking for a new brunch place in Long Beach, and found this hidden gem. Not sure what to expect at first, but as soon as I walked in I was greeted by Nicholas. Very, welcoming and sweet. Great service, takes time to explain/answer questions you may have without rushing. I ordered the Brunch Burrito- did not disappoint, I love the taste- by far the best Burrito I've ever tasted. I ordered matcha, it was okay but not bad all. Then, I ordered banana walnut muffin, it was delicious especially when its warmed up and put butter. I had Mocha with it, everything is perfect. The place is quiet, definitely a place to relax, do home work if you're a student, you can also work and bring your laptops because they do have a spot in the corner with lots of power outlets. I will definitely come back and highly recommend this place.

Breakfast Burrito with house sausage! Mucho delicioso!

So... this is one of my favorite coffee shops in Long Beach and the reason for that is the barista, Jackie. She just lights up your life with a smile! No matter how down your spirit is, she'll bring back your smile! My friend and I carpooled to a Job Fair and in returning, we wanted to grab a bite to eat with coffee....really good coffee. I brought ourselves here and OMG! that was the best decision we made. I got the Breakfast Burrito with the house sausage (picture below) and my friend got the Quinoa Salad. Kudos to the chef!! Both were so good! Glad we came!

I got iced vanilla latte with oatmilk and my husband got the drip coffee. The coffee itself was amazing and I liked how mine was the right amount of sweet. The early bird burrito was amazing. I took one bite and the flavors burst in my mouth. I was thoroughly surprised. Highly recommend the early bird burrito. The breakfast potatoes were not your average potatoes. Highly seasoned with bits of caramelized onions and red bell peppers. I feel like that's next level My everything bagel with cream cheese did not disappoint The cafe itself is clean, with plenty of spots to enjoy a social outing or finish your work. Plenty of outlets. I also love how the cafe has a community feel with the community book club corner and artwork on the walls. The staff were super friendly They also offer military discount so make sure to tip well!

Best breakfast in the LBC! Lovely service, super cute space, good music always in rotation, good coffee, books for sale, art for sale too! Breakfast sausage is delicious, some of the best breakfast potatoes I've had. Iced coffee here is great! They make their own salsa & jam, I can taste the love in the food. I always enjoy the mornings I get to spend at this cute Café. Till next time!

    Damn good sandwich

We've come into the plaza many times but we never experienced it until now. It was empty when we came but that didn't take away from anything. My girlfriend did the avocado toast special and I had the bacon eggs and cheese sandwich. Each one of our dishes looked incredible and tasted the same wording. The bacon was thick and perfect and I will be committing to that dish whenever I'm in the mood for a quick breakfast. If you haven't tried it, go! They have good coffee and plenty of seating.

    Gionnette S.

Love it here! If you're looking for a quiet place to get work done or study, this is your spot! Their blackened chicken wrap and garlic fries with ranch are my go to! Lots of outlets, not overly crowded during the weekdays! Service is amazing!

The server (owner?) asked if we wanted cheese and Cole slaw, and that's how we got it. The sandwich was big enough to share so if the sandwich seems pricey, consider sharing. Although on a hungry day, I could probably eat it all with no problem. Dilly's has a fairly decent amount of craft beers on draft. I wasn't in a beer-drinking mood so I didn't look too closely at the list. I love it when restaurants support local brewers, and this looks like the kind of place that would do just that.

Heard about Dilly's Sandwiches having the most unique rotating set of beers on tap in Long Beach,…read moreso had to come to try it. The taste portions were very reasonably priced, allowing to create your own flight (or two). Specifically scheduled an early afternoon to come to the Lakewood Village neighborhood of East Long Beach. My wife found an angled parking spot right in front. It wasn't too crowded inside and the four of us found easy, comfortable seating in the brightly decorated dining room. One places and pays for the order at the counter, with the proprietors being very friendly and engaged. They brought out our beers after the pour, and the sandwiches a bit after (since each is individually carefully made). Beers: - Northern Lager [Oxbow] - ($5 for 13oz pour) was clean, crisp and a hoppy aftertaste. - Infinite Hotel [The Wayfinder X Bierstadt] (marked as $3 but charged $4) is a rice lager and was the favorite of the group for its drinkability - Winteruption [JK's Farmhouse] ($3) is a cider with very strong maple syrup overtones: never tasted anything like it. - Hyper Paradise [Rare Barrel] ($4) - saison and ale with mango and passion fruit. I liked this beer very much. - A Place Like Home [Pure Project] ($3) - Nitro poured Extra Special Bitter. - Double Negative [Grimm] ($4) - Imperial Stout, which I really enjoyed. - Amongst Friends [Sante Adairius] ($4) - a cherry saison, unusual and was glad to sample. A lot of work was put into creating this flight, with the careful pours and markings to make sure I knew what was what. I really appreciated the opportunity to sample all of these on-tap. In terms of the food, the group as a whole really liked them, though I guess I wasn't as impressed with my two samples, mainly because it used non-descript deli meat in OK quantities, heating them up when necessary. Hot Beef ($18) was my wife's, and it had been griddled with cheese to form a crispy lattice. The Ham and Cheese ($16) was served cold and had potato chips inside which my mother-in-law liked (saving the other half for home). Our friend and I split the Hot Turkey ($16) and Pastrami No 19 style ($20). The pastrami meat was piled high and the cole slaw was crisp and good, but was served cold (should have read the description more closely) and mediocre rye bread broke apart quickly. The Hot Turkey ($16) was served on ciabatta that had been grill pressed for a long time, creating a wonderful crust as good as any sandwich I've had. But the filling was OK, using standard turkey breast slices from a loaf and an ok stuffing...using hand carved turkey would have made a big difference here, but understand it's hard to do. Strangely, even though it's a pickle adorned shop, each sandwich just came with an ordinary pickle spear, what one would expect from a diner, not a deli. And the prices are on the higher side, especially with no sides and most not being particularly ginormous. But I loved how each sandwich used different breads, and how some of them were toasted very well. And having the opportunity to try these unique beers made it a really good experience.
