We've been coming to Nick's Restaurant week after week, and the biggest reason is the incredible bartenders who have become like family to us, Yannell, Chrissy, and Hannah. They are so much more than bartenders. They are attentive, caring, welcoming, and genuinely make every visit feel special. No matter how busy the restaurant gets, they always remember us, check in on us, and make sure everything is perfect. Their level of service is truly unlike any other. We could dine anywhere, but it's their warmth, consistency, and the personal connections they create that keep us coming back every single week. Thank you, Yannell, Chrissy, and Hannah, for always making us feel at home. Nick's is lucky to have you!

I haven't been there in years! We sat at the bar - it was busy because of Mother's Day. The bar staff were amazing! We had the asparagus fries - delicious! The salad with the balsamic vinaigrette was so good. The vibe was fun. Good for people watching!

I have been here one time before. And they have great food. However this time it went wrong. I know they were busy but we were seated outside and the waiters took our unused chairs even though they had other tables to take them from. So we ended up with not being able to put our stuff on the chairs but on the table. And we intentionally ordered food with no garlic and there was still garlic on it. We explained to the hostess and she said that it is a special recipe and they don't list all the ingredients....however yes you list if there is garlic in the food and it was a lot. Overall they have a nice ambiance but ending up sitting outside feeling down prioritized with left over food on the floor wasn't pleasant. They did however not charge us for the food after we expressed our concerned. That was the only thing that is going to make me come back and give them another chance.

My fav go to restaurant. Servers are always attentive and accommodating. I love to order the Scottish salmon. Bistro plate is perfect if you want something light with a bang. Really loving the artichoke hearts when they're in season here! We come here for the butter cake to fill our sweet tooth. Great ambiance indoor or outdoor seating.

Hannah at the bar was great! I was third on the waitlist and when I checked in, it was still 1 1/2 wait, which is pretty insane. I was there for a business dinner, but we definitely weren't trying to wait over an hour. But with the Long Beach Grand Prix going on- we didn't want to head to downtown . We didn't feel like walking around and trying to find another place so we decided to go to the bar and have a drink. Hannah, who works at the bar was very attentive and she was on the lookout for a couple of seats for us to be able to have dinner and a business conversation. Everything we had was delicious ( Chilean Seabass and top sirloin as main dishes, asparagus fries, and shrimp taquitos as appetizers, a dirty martini, and a margarita ) All bartenders all checked in with us, which was great thank you.!

I love Nick's so when a friend invited me to go out to Long Beach, I recommended this location. This one is in the heart of Belmont Shores. The parking is like any other metro city...street or parking garage. It's got lots of different shops and restaurants nearby. We had a reservation so we were seated quickly. The server was very nice and friendly. She was helpful with selecting options from their menu. We landed on the fried chicken, prime rib dip and the shrimp taquitos. The chicken was crisp, juicy and flavorful. It came with mashed potatoes, biscuit and gravy. The prime rib dip was also good. The bread was notably fresh and soft. The shrimp taquitos were ok. This restaurant is pretty inside. They had a fireplace at the lobby and a pretty big bar at the front. Enjoyed our time here with friends!

One of my all time favorite restaurants to go to's for a special occasion! The ambiance is filled with great energy, very welcoming atmosphere, and amazing service that we received by Devin! I had the Chilean Seabass which was prepared just right lil crispy on the outside and buttery inside on the side were delicious mashed potatoes, and spinach. I paired my dinner with a crisp Sauvignon Blanc! If you haven't been here, you won't be disappointed! I definitely recommend making a reservation ahead of time. Cheers

Service, food ambiance all amazing like normal. The soup to go however was extremely expensive to go.Again! Not sure what an average oz is for a 12.00 bowl of soup to go is and maybe quite possibly I am 100% wrong. So what is an average amount of soup bowl to go? Asking for a friend.

    Cioppino!
    Dana A.

Nicks is always a five star experience! We had the Chilean Seabass and the San Francisco style cioppino with the most awesome sourdough garlic bread yummy! We had to get another round of bread just to dip in the soup! We never leave enough room for butter cake. I guess I need to get that sometime maybe just as my entire dinner. lol! Our server, Steven was awesome. He was super attentive and very nice. Did a great job!

Warm potato salad is baaaaaaaaack!!!! Mmmmm soooo good.

Last night my daughter and I stepped in for a bite. From the front reception to the server - spectacular service. Coffee is hot- that's a must for me- fried chicken dinner for me - fish sandwich for Meg!! Perfect!! Thanks for a great evening of great food and super service.

Back again for more , Nice warm lites and friendly atmosphere always great service. Food is amazing and staff is very accommodating. Always a great time meeting others and sitting at the bar top is a fun time . I'll be back again cheers!!!!

Went back again because the food is just that good!! Just know that even if you have a reservation you'll probably have a bit of a wait. But the wait is worth it the food is delicious and the vibes are immaculate inside.

Food was amazing, as always! My go to is the Petite Bistro Plate and today that came with French Onion soup. Our table also ordered the top sirloin with a loaded baked potato and asparagus, as well as the Buttermilk Fried Chicken. All three were extremely well done dishes. For drinks, I ordered my usual: Jalapeño watermelon margarita with a chili salt rim. Our server Lauren really set the high standards for future servers. She was kind and very easy going. The front desk was also very welcoming and ensured that we were seated immediately. Ambiance was the perfect balance of moody with candles and low lighting.

Fire pit right behind me at the bar!

He was kind, polite, and carried himself with such warmth -- and yes, those curls were beautiful. He set the tone for the entire experience. For our entrées, we had the grilled salmon with bok choy and mashed potatoes, and the steak sandwich with French fries. Everything was delicious, well-seasoned, and cooked just right. The ambience was wonderful. They have a full bar, and you can watch the chefs prepare dishes right from your table, which adds to the experience. I also appreciated seeing the general manager actively running food and engaging with guests -- leadership like that shows. Another thing that stood out was how clean and organized the restaurant stayed. The moment a table was vacated, it was cleared and reset within minutes. Everything looked spotless. There's so much on the menu that I want to come back and try. I highly recommend this place. The Bake Mac & Cheese is a must-order--the crunchy topping is easily the best part and gives it such a great texture. We also tried the Grilled Provoleta. Trying to find happy hour with food in the area was somewhat a challenge. Either they were finishing up or it wasn't that interesting on the menu. Of course some places offered amazing drink deals but no food. We ended up here actually across the street still looking up for places but the rooftop patio was what caught our attention. The restaurant itself looked bare as there was no one inside. Still on the early side but noticing people going in and then heading up stairs. After a few debates on here and there, we gave up and found our way here. Checked in with the host, letting him know that we just wanted happy hour upstairs. It was about two flights of stairs which the place looked quite industrial with all the metal beams and stairs. Downstairs was beautiful but completely emptied. Everyone wanted to utilize the rooftop patio as it was beautiful out. We were greeted by someone which mentioned to us that any bar seating was available. There was a section towards the back that was pretty lively. I think it was booked for a group. Instead of the bar area, we asked to sit along the rooftop counter that looks out to the street and building across the street. Way better view and perfect way to spend the afternoon hours. Staff were all pretty sweet and very friendly. Whatever we needed they were they to help. Both the regular menu and happy hour menu were quite impressive. As we just wanted HH, it was given. They had drink special for 10.00 and small bites for 10.00 as well. Didn't hesitate and started off with some drinks. The red sangria with mixed fruits was a nice clean and refreshing treat. Tasteful without that aftertaste. And the Le Pistolet Fumant, a delectable tasty drink with mezcal with a hint of pineapple. And other well drink that was perfect for a nice afternoon. HH drink special was quite tasty to start off. Food wise, started off with an order of the Caesar salad, simple but delicious. Fresh crisp Romaine lettuce and slices of Parmesan and crouton bits. Nice crunch with each bite. The dressing, wow pretty tasty. And an order of the Mac and Cheese . Most places it's either a hit or a miss and let me say it was a HIT. Quite cheesy and full of flavors that a second order was had. A dish I do recommend for HH. We also had an order of the Brussels sprouts which was excellent. A nice glaze and crunchy with chunks of house cured pancetta. Nice big chunks I must say. Lastly the beef sliders with Wagyu beef patties. Honestly, this was the least favorite of the dishes we got. You would think it sounded great but it was quite tasteless and nothing major to report on. Served with brioche bun and shredded lettuce and tomatoes and a lemon aioli. I had high hope for it when I saw the group next to us order it but it was a little disappointing. Overall, the Mac and cheese, Caesar salad and Brussels sprouts were all hits. The sliders, disappointing. Other items on HH didn't look too ingesting for us but it was for other people. The rooftop lounge and bar area was the place to be when we were there. It picked up real fast after we got seated. Picnic style tables being occupied by large groups before HH ended. Just the rooftop alone was great and beautiful. It a place that's good for a drink and meal with friends. Downstairs was beautiful but seemed more of an intimate experience. Overall, it was a great choice for a meal during HH.

Bristy, our server, thoroughly explained the details of certain dishes such as the Mac & Cheetos. She also checked in on our table throughout the meal and came around often to refill our water. As for the food itself, it was very delicious. My favorite dish was the artichokes. They had a somewhat smoky flavor and the outermost leaves were crunchy and a nice contrast to the soft inside of the artichokes. They were also served in a tangy sauce that complimented the vegetable well. My friend's favorite item was the macaroni and cheese. It was chewy and creamy, and the pasta, which Bristy informed us was made in-house, was what my friend thought elevated the dish because it was a nice texture. We additionally ordered the gumbo which was also tasty but not as yummy as the other two dishes that we ordered. It is not a spicy dish if one is concerned about spice level. As for the ambiance of the restaurant, we enjoyed how the atmosphere felt casual and almost like you were sitting in somebody's house (the wallpaper and interior design is pretty) while still maintaining an elegant aesthetic design. There is inside seating what looks like a converted house? There is outside seating at tables or at the bar. The menu was interesting which had a theme of shrimp; there was eggs Benedict with shrimp, but not an item to order a regular one without it? Sure maybe could have ordered and asked without shrimp but pay the same price? Pass. Ok when I called they mentioned they serve brunch until 3? 3:30 I can't remember. The server mentioned they serve the brunch all day? Either way when I got to ordering this month on the menu it highlighted the shrimp po boy. I tried to order and nope, out. How can you be out of the item highlighted as the special in the middle of the day? When the place is not packed? I tried to order the lobster roll and again, out. I was tempted to order their short rib poutine since in theory it sounded good, but at this point I tried something simple I would hope they have in the kitchen chicken and waffles. The plate came and it looks good. If you look at the picture at the bottom of the chicken you can see a dark something. As I lift my chicken I found a huge burnt piece of breading pictured next. On top of the chicken is green onion I think? Who eats that with chicken and waffles? If I am wrong, a garnish is totally unnecessary for this dish. The chicken was moist. There are spices in the flour breading I can see but hard to taste what it is. The waffle is a hard pass for me. The waffle was crispy which is good, but also thin and dry and I couldn't taste any sweetness until I put maple syrup on it. The syrup came out warm which was nice. It's clear watching the people at the bar this is a local hangout. The chicken and waffles were $19 which if I was in the bay I think it's about right, but I think a little high considering the level of food I got. Supposedly this place is packed specifically on Sundays. The server doesn't know why? I'm not interested to even try to come back for a second chance and just be told sold out of the menu.

Because of that, I honestly did not want to come back tonight. But I was craving a good steak, and after my husband suggested giving 908 another try, I reluctantly agreed. I noticed the filet mignon on the menu paired with broccolini and decided to go for it. From the moment we walked in, the experience felt completely different. The hostess was warm and welcoming and seated us immediately. A young man came over right away with waters and took our drink order, which already surprised us in the best way. Then Alex S came to our table, and he truly made the night exceptional. He was friendly, attentive, and incredibly helpful in making sure my order was exactly how I wanted it. I mentioned that I didn't want a large piece of butter melting over the steak, and he happily accommodated that request. He even checked on the exact ounce size of the filet for me, which I appreciated. We ordered the Brussels sprouts appetizer, and honestly, they were the best Brussels sprouts we've ever had. Perfectly cooked, not drowning in sauce, and absolutely packed with flavor. My 8 oz filet mignon was cooked perfectly medium rare, exactly as ordered. The broccolini was crisp, fresh, and not overly oily. Everything tasted thoughtful, balanced, and worth every dollar. Most importantly, Alex S delivered spectacular service from start to finish. We were genuinely shocked to learn this was his first night shift because he handled the dining room with professionalism, warmth, and confidence far beyond what we expected. Thank you, Alex S, for completely changing our impression of 908. Tonight's experience was excellent, and for the first time, we are actually excited to come back. Thanks again, Jed Dornoff

Super picky when I go out to eat but came with 6 others and we were all pleasantly surprised. The spicy tuna crispy rice dish was my favorite, I came in for the steak salad but then got more tuna with the poke bowl. It was all great and I got a side of spicy mayo and eel sauce. Our server Sergio was amazing very kind, personable and great service! Definitely recommend :) Ambiance was nice too and food came out quickly.
