We went here for Father's Day. With reservations seems to be organized sitting us outdoors with lout the hassle of waiting. The everything we order was well prepared and delicious. I ordered a dozen of oysters but surprisingly they were very small ($49). You should ask what type of oyster to give an idea what you're ordering. Overall, the food and service were great. I would go back and experience the evening atmosphere. I'm sure it must be pretty.

Ambience: 15/10 Service: 10:10 Food: 10/10 Wait time: 10/10 I was here celebrating a graduation and the ambience is absolutely perfect right on the water. There were seating options both inside and outside which I absolutely loved and everyone seemed to enjoy their meal. My absolute favorite was the warm butter cake and I truly enjoyed my shrimp cocktail nice huge jumbo shrimp. The service was great and the drink menu is pretty extensive. Well I did not have a cocktail. One of my family members enjoyed their version of a bloody Mary OMG. I think what I like about this place most is that if you want to have an upscale experience, you totally can. However, if you're not in the mood for all the extras and you just want to go dine somewhere nice this fits the criteria also. I'm literally trying to figure out a reason to go back now.

Reserved for a pre-Mother's day celebration the night before. Service was great-- friendly front staff and attentive server. Our server was able to recommend us the best type of shucked oysters to pick that were "beginner-friendly." We went with the East coast derived oysters, and they were actually really good with no fishy aftertaste. Appetizers and entrees didn't take too long to come out-- around 15-20 minutes for all to arrive at the same time. I actually like their bread they offer as a courtesy because it had a hard, thick outer shell but was soft in the inside. Their butter is also heavenly, loved that it was sweet! Entrees were decent-- I got the scallops and they were soft and quite delectable. Prices range anywhere from around $30-$75 for their entrees, which I understand comes from the freshness of the seafood and that it is a fine dining restaurant. Ambiance definitely sets a low-lit vibe that would be best for date nights. Kind of hard to see the menu if you don't place the little table lamp in the middle of the table. But again, understand it's probably for the fine dining aspect. Do wish we were able to sit outside to get the nice breeze and view, so maybe next time!

Haven't been back here for a long while. The 1st time was here was for my HS prom's dinner back in the 80s and it's still standing and went back several time afterwards. Parking is fine with private paid parking lot (they do validating for it) or you can find paid or sometime free street parking or meter parking spaces. The place is overlooking the water and quite a view, especially during sunset. Spacious, nice, clean restaurant with great vibe. Services can be 80% hit and 20% can be miss. Most foods here are good but off the prices, so so, but you're most likely paying for the views and the location more likely. I really enjoyed the fresh oysters, calamari and fish & chip...well battered and well cooked. But overall, it a good place to hangout for sure.

Be ready for a spendy meal. We had a large group of 16 for lunch. It was very nice inside. Parking with validation was $10.40. I had the ahi tuna sandwich and eel sashimi. Eel is always good. The ahi seemed overcooked. He had the Chilean sea bass which he loved. We all shared oysters, calamari, garlic cheese bread(SO GOOD). I had a mango mojito which was delish even though the mangos in it were a bit under ripe. $1227.00 was our bill! They tacked on 18%. So his tip was $169!

I was really disappointed here. The food was okay, they told me a few minutes after ordering that they didn't have what I wanted and then the waiter hovered until I picked something new and I hadn't thought of a backup option and he seemed annoyed. They also took away our appetizer plates while there was still food on them and never asked if we wanted them cleared. Filled up half the table with water and then didn't come back to fill up the rest for 16 minutes.

While on a staycation in Long Beach, my wife and I found ourselves strolling all over The Pike area. We stumbled upon the Parker's Lighthouse and decided to pop in for a quick snack. We orderd a couple cocktails and some appetizers. I had an Old Fashion my wife went with a Pomegranate Basil Smash. For the appetizer we went with the Karage Chicken Lettuce Wrap, Crispy Calamari, and The Queens Roll. The service little slow, but thankfully we weren't in a hurry. Although we sat in the bar area, it seems to be a kool place for a date. There are bunch of window seats with ocean views that could set the vibe. The Lettuce wraps were our least favorite due to the lack of flavor. You most definitely will need to use the sauce it comes with. The sushi and the calamari were wonderful. The sushi was nice and fresh, and the Calamari was crispy and flavorful. The cocktails hit the spot. Overall its a good spot for drinks and light bites.

Great service, our waitress was super attentive. The food was good, we got the broccoli, burrata, seafood linguine, and strawberry salad. I wish the toast for the burrata wasn't so soggy. We came here for our second date so we came here for our anniversary this year :)

We had a great time...the view deserves all the stars. The service was great and our server was very kind to the kiddos and indulged them the whole time. The kids menu was a hit with our little ones, who enjoyed popcorn shrimp and a kids size fish and chips. We also shared a mixed grilled plate that was serviced with skewers and the fish of the day. It was a good and healthy plate. We also ordered the tollhouse pie which hit the dessert spot, but had a lot of nuts. All of the pier spots are clearly for the views. The food was good, but not the star of the show.

Went here for a company dinner, and we were seated in the private room which has a water view. Gorgeous day, so it was perfect! I got the steak (medium) and the guava groove (cocktail). The steak was cooked right. The veges that came with it were good, and I especially like the gravy for the mash potatoes. The cocktail had a good ratio of alcohol and sweetness which were to my liking! The cheesecake was decent and nothing special. Servers were friendly.

Stopped by here and had an amazing late lunch. I was hungry for this one. I ordered a poke bowl with more salad than rice. I loved the sea weed the salmon and tuna was beyond delicious it also cane with a miso soup and i loved that as well. We also had the oysters they were pretty good but one region forgot Which one had more fragments of the shell not cool really annoying to be honest. Service was fast and easy. The ambiance during this time was great honestly quiet and intimate with really nice views.

There is a narrative around Mother's Day and well other major holidays associated with going out like Valentine's Day and maybe Easter for Brunch that paints them as pit of wait and rush. My mom clung to that theory as reason why not to go out. But I believe that opportunities arise for grand dining even on days froth with guests. And Parker's Lighthouse, in many ways, in many genuine ways, offered the opportunity for us to experience a lounge-esque expeirence when we arrived without prior reservation and kind of just showed up. After having our first morning experience, my mom and I went to Parker's Lighthouse because continued rest for us was the move. We walkedt the Pier's/Village's end to find the restaurant. It was packed, clearly. There was a lot of movement, a lot of rush, and a lot of stalling as people let people pass. I explained that we did not have a reservation and we would love to sit by the water. The first host explained that there was no area for that except the stools that were exposed to the heat. She did not say that, but that is what they were . I said ok. We were going to figure it out. If we had grit, and hope, we could enjoy a mother's day happy hour. And then the most wonderful thing happened, the server who walked us, saw a booth opened that was right by the water and under the shade and asked if we would like the booth? And I said yes. I am not sure if she opened that option to us when she saw it, or she got the green light before, but that small choice of hers allowed my mother and I to be comfortable because we were sitting in a coveted spot. Every other person that came sat in these high chairs and they were under the sun. People asked for one of these booths that me and my mom had, and they were denied because there was nothing open. So yes, I am thankful and glad that everything went just right for us to just walk in and get one of the best seats in the house. It was not a Christmas day miracle, but a Mother's Day Gift. Izzy was our server and she was a gem. My mother's go to move is to get fried calamari and the joint had it in their Mother's Day Specific Bar Menu or Lounge Menu because a separate brunch was happening inside. The calamari was fried not to a standard golden crisp, it was a standard above golden fried calamari. It is more than just good, it was delectable. In fact, she ordered a second helping to take to someone she knows. That in itself is an undeniable marker of success. I got this sushi role- Salmon Ponzu role and it was just a great set of bites. The onion waas fresh, and clean, not fried or anything. You got the purpose of the onion immediately, and I am glad because the onion gets a lot respect but I know a lot of people leave onion behind on their burgers. The whole dish had this umami taste that made me feel like I was eating something fresh in flavor. The sea across from me would approve of the bite. I also ordred a rasberry lemon drop. Izzy kept me in the loop as to why it was delayed. She was busy, yet still made the effort to not make me feel like we were on after thought. A prudent strategy against let us not make this customer feel like he is a hog to feed on this busy day. And the drink when it came was fruitty and ptoent and like I only need one, it did its work well fast. Of course the view was perfect. A spring day that mirrored summer heat. We had the shade, we got to lounge, we got to eat great food, and we were comfortable in a way that made us want to stay. So in short, the whole experience was either a system's error on what is suppose to be a day filled with barriers or a simple case of us being at the right place at te right time.

We made a reservation for an early Mother's Day lunch at Parker's Lighthouse. We haven't had a chance to eat here in years! I'm so glad we finally made it back because it was a wonderful experience. We were seated at a beautiful table with a full view of the ocean. The restaurant was immaculately clean with beautiful decor. I love how it is modern nautical style. For appetizers we ordered calamari, Brussel sprouts and the warm crab dip. All the appetizers were delicious! My favorite was the Brussel sprouts. I have never had Brussel sprouts cooked with chili honey and served with hummus. It was so ono! For entrees, we all ordered the seafood Cobb. Although it is served with a Louie dressing i asked for Bleu cheese instead. The salad was so fresh and delicious! A perfect lunch entree! I had mimosas and my husband and and son ordered from the beer menu. The alcohol beverage menu is nice and extensive and has a little something for everyone. We such a wonderful time and we're so pleased with our food and the service. Our server Brandon was amazing! We were so lucky to have him as our server! 5 stars for Brandon! I highly recommend Parker's Lighthouse if you want amazing service, food and views! It is a bit on the pricier side but you definitely pay for what you get! Absolutely worth it!

Parkers' Lighthouse Reviews in Other Languages

Ask the Community - Parkers' Lighthouse

Is there valet parking or nearby parking lot?

Yes, there is nearby parking. It is pretty expensive. You have to pull a ticket. Restaurant will validate ticket to reduce cost but it isn’t free.

Thinking about my attire. Is shorts and flip flops to casual for this place?

You will be fine we were very casual when we went!

    Do they also serve sushi?

Yes, they have a small sushi menu

Are dogs allowed at outdoor seating? A small dog inside doggie carriage? Also, any buffet brunch?

They don't offer a buffet brunch and your dog should be fine.

    Do you serve kids menu?

    Yes

How's the parking situation? Do they have their own parking lot/structure, valet?

There is a general lot for all the shops/restaurants in the area. With validation parking is $10 for a couple hours. It's not a big lot either. You may take a few laps during peak hours.

Is Thanksgiving menu limited to fixed price three course menu?

    Yes

    Is sit down now available?

    Yes, both inside and outside.

    Is the patio dog friendly?

Is the menu still the same as pre covid? I know some restaurants have changed to a more limited menu..

Michelle, I dined on their opening weekend and there were no special menus. The options were quite extensive. And of course as in the past, the food was impeccable.

What's the dress code here...casual, semiformal, formal?

I visited just recently when they reopened and the dress code is casual. The staff was wonderful and not stuffy at all.

Will they have a Thanksgiving brunch?

Brunch buffet is only served twice a year. Easter and Mothers Day.

Does anyone know what the corkage fee is here? Thanks

    $25

    Can you make reservations?

Yes, you can make reservations. The outside patio is nice if it's not chilly.

Do you guys have brunch? Endless Mimosas? If so can I have pricing.

Yes you can make reservations on line

Where is the happy hour? Are there still mice views at the bar?

I would call for the happy hours. And the best view is going to be the outside seating. The bar is inside.

If I wanted to sit outside and have a view of the queen mary and the water, where would I request to be seated?

Just ask to be seated on the patio facing the Queen Mary.

Definitely worth it! The vibes are unmatched. It's a unique blend of "top notch cocktail crafting" and "beer and a hot pretzel after work." You can dress up, you can dress down, it's very 'just be yourself' which I love. I've literally had caviar AND hot dogs there in the same night at an event. They know how to blend high/low. Incredible knowledge and ingredients but not snooty patootie. Super inclusive and fun, with cool popups and events happening all the time. It's a full bar so you can get any cocktail you would normally order if you're keeping it simple, or beer, wine, boilermakers, etc. There's a span of offerings and price points, so something for everyone. It's clear the owners put a lot of thought and creativity into making their cocktails the centerpiece of the experience. That said, the execution didn't live up to the concept. The menu appears to rotate regularly, and while the drinks were certainly unique, most of the cocktails we tried were hit or miss. At roughly $22 per drink, I expected more balance and refinement. One cocktail started with flavors reminiscent of an Old Fashioned, but after the initial sip, the combination of bitters and fruit syrups created an unpleasant cough syrup like finish. We tried a mocktail as well, and it was mostly ice and soda water, with what seemed like a collection of syrups doing most of the heavy lifting. The drinks were creative, but many of the flavor profiles felt disjointed rather than intentional. The biggest issue, however, was the bar service and sanitation practices. I watched a bartender place a cucumber garnish into a glass using his bare hands, touching the entire garnish in the process. He then continued to take credit cards, cash, and other items before stuffing ice into additional drinks with his bare hands. Whether or not this technically violates health code standards, it certainly wasn't appetizing to watch and left a poor impression. Parking is another challenge. There is no dedicated parking, and unless you get lucky, expect to park several blocks away and walk. Overall, the atmosphere is a lot of fun and the cocktail menu is ambitious, but the drinks didn't justify the price point, and the sanitation concerns were hard to overlook. I wouldn't rush back, especially given the cost and parking difficulties.

THE BLIND DONKEY IS NOT SAFE FOR TRANS PEOPLE…read more Last night (6/28) between 10-11pm, my trans boyfriend was followed into the men's bathroom by a security guard who started aggressively yelling at them for using the "wrong" bathroom. The security guard asked extremely inappropriate questions like "aren't you a lady?" and "what bathroom do you usually use?". Anytime my boyfriend responded, he yelled more and threatened to kick him out. This was a deeply upsetting situation. We were there for a friend's birthday and we left immediately after the incident. We definitely will NOT be returning to the Blind Donkey. We also suggest our queer and trans friends and community avoid this place too! The Blind Donkey needs to do better with educating and welcoming people of all genders. For good karaoke in a queer & trans friendly place, we recommend Silver Fox!

We parked in the multi-story parking garage behind Hamburger Mary's. Secret Island is a little over a block away. You can make reservations on OpenTable. It has a bit of a speakeasy entrance, as it is not plainly marked. Look for the staircase going down with greenery around it and the Secret Island sign downstairs. Go right at the bottom of the stairs and there is a little walkway where you see a very cool tiki display. It you stay there long enough, the lights will flash and you will hear thunder. Walk a little further and go through the door to enter. I was blown away by the atmosphere and build. Kudos to Bamboo Ben! It is dimly lit with a ton of cave wall, bamboo, thatch, netting, tiki lights, floats, skulls, tikis, and other décor. The bar is loaded with bottles and looks great with dark blue and green backlighting. The bar top is wood with deep cutouts that are filled with clear epoxy. The booths in the main dining area are little tiki huts and even have clouds overhead. There was great tiki music playing the whole time. A few times an hour a thunderstorm hits. The lights dim, lightning flashes with thunder sound effects, and red lights illuminate cracks in the floor that looks like lava veins. There is also a photo-op "Pele's Throne" which is a big lava rock surrounded chair. We sat at the bar and had the coconut shrimp appetizer ($12). The shrimp were breaded and cooked well, and had a coconut sprinkle on top. The spicy dipping sauce complemented the shrimp well. I started out with the Drunken Monkey (Makers Mark 46, Jamaican rum, banana liqueur, cinnamon, allspice, Angostura bitters, normally $19, $17 during happy hour). It was somewhat bourbon forward with a little funk from the Jamaican rum. I definitely got the cinnamon notes with a little banana and allspice in the background. She started out with the El Capitan Hook (Del Maguey mezcal, pineapple, banana liqueur, Luxardo cherry liqueur, lime, $17, $15 during happy hour). This was smoke forward with light pineapple and banana flavor. I had the Hula burger ($18) which was very good with a lot of different flavors from the various toppings. It came with a decent amount of fries, and was a filling plate. She had the pineapple bowl fried rice and added with BBQ pork ($17 + $5 for pork add-on). It is served in half of a scooped out pineapple and had a good amount of rice with pork and green onions on top. It had a good mix of teriyaki sauce on the rice and BBQ sauce on the pork. Next, I had the Rum Runner (coconut and blended dark rums, banana liqueur, raspberry, grenadine, pineapple, orange, lime, $18, $15 during happy hour). It was very pineapple and coconut forward which overpowered all of the other ingredients. She also had the Let That ManGo (white rhum agricole, coconut, mango, lemon, $18, $16 during happy hour). The primary flavors here were mango with some grassiness from the agricole. We were here from about 6pm to 8pm on a Wednesday night and it was pretty dead with only a few other people in the place the whole time. They do have a stage in the back with live music acts, so it is probably busier when there is entertainment and on weekends. Our first bartender was Alex who was nice but we barely talked with him. Manager Pedro took over the bartender duties later on and we had a great time chatting with him. Service was great from both of them. The drinks are a few dollars above average, but if you come during happy hour, the drinks are several dollars off. Happy hour is currently all day Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Sunday, and Thursday through Saturday from 5pm to 8pm. The food was good, the drinks were ok to good, and the atmosphere was great. Normally, this would probably be a one and done, but I really liked the build and would like to come back when it is busier, maybe on a weekend.

In my opinion the pike is really dying out, while this is a specialty bar / tiki bar it was sooo empty. The inside is lovely upon entering and could be a very fun birthday experience or bar experience. The bartender her tonight was not kind at all. My girlfriend and I came in excited, however we were not greeted. Honestly, at first we asked if it was open (looked really dead inside.. like really really empty). He had a snarky comment and we had to stop and glance at each other. The look of "do we leave?". We sat at the bar top, he tossed over some menus, took our order and was really not happiest. It ruined our mood, and our intention was to stay and enjoy a drink or some food. However the atmosphere wasn't welcoming, almost uncomfortable. We only stayed for one drink, and they're all $20 each. Trying to cocktails was nice. I definitely recommend heading to the other tiki bar in Long Beach - better crowd - better service - welcoming. I won't be back nor bringing a friend here unfortunately.

During one drinking session, I think I heard Sonic Reducer three times; that adds an extra star. Before we get off track, let's get back to my opening line; when my life is in shambles, I come to V Room. It's fun, it has great music and things just don't feel as bad here. My last venture to ye olde V, my roommate broke up a fight in the girls room, my friends and I drunkenly sang along to Iggy Pop, and a hipster girl was hoisted out by the straps of her 90s era child's backpack. So, all things considered, my life may be in shambles, but at least I'm not brawling in the girls room. The drinks rule and the bartenders are the BEST.

Went to pay & when the " tip" wasn't up to her par , she made the comment under her breath " why even **** come out cheap f**k?" Why even be a bartender if you're not going to provide a service. You don't get a tip for being terrible at your job. That's not how this works. Management will probably read this & brush it off because she'll have a lame excuse like we were the problem or needy. Nope. She is the problem. Even the regulars mentioned they can't stand when she bartends because her attitude is so terrible. Fix your system please. Get better people.

Our service was very slow and the drinks took a very long time to come out. We were some of the only people in the restaurant, so I can't blame it on being very busy. My girlfriend ordered a mojito and it tasted more like a margarita than anything. Our appetizer was okay but for the price you pay you don't get much. My burrito was decent, nothing to write home about. But you could definitely get a better one in Long Beach for $5 cheaper. My girlfriend ordered a salmon special which was about $30. I've never had a more overcooked piece of fish in my life. When the server asked how our food was I informed her the food was extremely overcooked. She didn't seem to care and there was no offer to find some kind of solution. I wasn't expecting a comped dish or anything special, but a little acknowledgement would have been appreciated. I wouldn't reccomend this place but if you're going to the club there and want food I guess this could be a decent option.

I got the Backyard BBQ burger with tater tots and the Bacon Bleu burger with fries.  Backyard BBQ burger - the onion rings at Sideburns are some of the best in the game, so this was obviously stellar. An indulgent bite and they don't skimp on the bacon or onion rings either. Bacon Bleu burger - this was loaded with bleu cheese! I thought it was awesome, but my friends definitely thought it was a little too much to handle. Definitely order if you love bleu cheese. It was perfectly balanced by the sweet strawberry jam and peppery arugula. If you're looking to cure your hangover before it even starts, head to the Stache. The vibe is chill, with good bartenders and a good movie playing on the projector every night. Food is awesome and served late, which we all know is a rarity around here.
