Raw oysters ($30 | 1/2 dozen) nice & fresh
Joe P.

I had a b'ness dinner at Skyroom at the Fairmont Breakers Hotel in LBC. There were positives & negatives. Positives: Marissa was an awesome waitress. She was knowledgable about the menu, and a pleasure to deal with; The hostesses were super nice. They held my bottle of wine while I used the restroom, and had a drink at the bar; The duck was excellent. The skin was crispy, and the meat was nicely seasoned & juicy; Secondarily, the oysters were very good. The raw oysters were fresh, and the cooked oysters were nicely seasoned; Negatives: Jenna was a terrible bartender. She took forever to acknowledge me, and took forever to make our drinks after my friend arrived. She made drinks for others that ordered after us. The hostess had to check on us twice, and I said we'll be ready as soon as we get our drinks; I was charged $3.75 extra for ordering a drink at dinner "neat". The alcohol is measured, so how can I be receiving more alcohol if my drink is neat vs w/ ice or mixed? I have never seen such an upcharge, and I travel around the country and the world; All in all a positive experience. There are other bars on the property (like Alter Ego downstairs). Perhaps next time I will have a drink at AE first before dinner vs the bar in the restaurant.

I loved our evening at the Sky Room! When you get off the elevator, you are immediately greeted with a beautiful mini exhibit on the history of the hotel and the restaurant. I loved reading all about their past, and how they have honored the story of the restaurant in the newly renovated space. The restaurant itself is luxurious and moody. We were originally taken to a room in the back that was oddly plain, so I asked if we could have one of the empty booths in the main area, and our host let us snag that table instead. We were celebrating, so we went for the wagyu beef Wellington as well as the Parker house rolls and caesar salad. It was all incredible, definitely the best beef Wellington I've ever had. And the mashed potatoes!!! I must say, the rolls and cultured butter were great..... but when you are spending so much money no matter what you order, it felt a little silly to charge $6 for rolls. Just toss us a bone here! I promise everyone wants 'em! The service was pretty exceptional. I asked for black pepper on my mashed potatoes, and 20 minutes or so later, I served myself another scoop of potatoes from the family-style dish. Within 10 seconds, our server miraculously re-appeared with the pepper grinder to top my second portion. I was blown away by the attention to detail. We finished up with the bananas fosters to really get the full experience, and it did not disappoint! I think every meal should finish with a little flambé.

What a great place to celebrate any occasion at Sky Room. Amazing atmosphere, great service, and fabulous food! We were celebrating birthday and we orders bunch of different plates to try out. For appetizers: Steak Tartare- great flavors. Broccoli - prepared to its perfection; nice crunch and good sauce. Cabbage - well cooked topped with bacon and excellent dressing. Crab cakes - can't describe.. it was excellent! Squash Risotto - for being a vegetarian dish it was amazing. Mushrooms on it were to die for. Beef Wilmington - this dish was made to its perfection. Gotta give it to the chef how well this is mastered! Absolutely loved this dish. Highly recommended. Over all, amazing experience and I will be coming back to try other dishes on their menu.

Shoutout to Amex FHR benefits for giving us the opportunity to dine-in at the Sky Room while staying at the Fairmont Breakers! There weren't any available walk-in tables but luckily, the bar is open seating and you can order off of the same menu. The dress code is elegant casual so guys just have to have a collared shirt and long pants. We ordered just enough to hit the $100 dining credit and that included the Parker House Rolls and Cultured Butter, Sky Room Caesar, and Wagyu Flat Iron. Overall, the food was surprisingly good for a hotel restaurant. The rolls came with two and were super soft and fluffy. The wagyu steak was very tender and well flavored. Definitely on the pricier end and we probably wouldn't have visited if it weren't for the FHR benefits but I can see it being a nice date spot or a place to celebrate life milestones.

We made a reservation through OpenTable to celebrate a new job and had heard great things about this place from foodie friends, but unfortunately it didn't live up to expectations. Our reservation was for 8:30 and we were explicitly asked to arrive at 8:15, which we did. Despite this, we were asked to wait another 45 minutes due to poor seating management and weren't seated until around 9:10 -- a disappointing start. Once seated, our server was professional and knowledgeable, explaining the menu well and offering solid recommendations. That said, given how busy it was (Saturday night), the overall service pace was slow. For a restaurant at this price point, I'd rate service around a 2.5-3 out of 5. The food itself was very good, but delays -- especially with our wine -- took away from the experience. While our celebration was verbally acknowledged with a congratulations, for a top-tier restaurant with a nearly $500 bill for two people, we would have expected a small gesture, such as offering a comped dessert, to truly elevate the experience. The ambiance and potential are there, but the execution fell short overall. Personally, I wouldn't return and would opt for other restaurants that deliver a more consistent high-end experience.

This place was excellent. Located at the top of the Fairmont Breakers Hotel, the Sky Room is elegant and romantic with awesome views of Long Beach all around the restaurant. Even the customers were dressed to the nines, clearly understanding the assignment. We started with whiskey sours and old fashioneds both of which were delicious and strong. We also tried the crudités which consisted of seasonal root vegetables on ice and a green goddess dressing. It was weirdly beautiful and really good. For entrees we had the short rib with chimichurri which was sooooo good. It was tender and full of flavor. One of the best that I've had. As for dessert, we had tinted the banana foster which is prepared table side. It was so yummy, sweet, and caramelly. I was surprised with a very rich and chocolatey cake as a birthday treat. It was also very good but we were too full to finish it. I was really pleased with our dining experience here. I definitely recommended it and I would absolutely return.

Great setting and view of Long Beach from atop the Fairmont Breakers. Modern high end interiors. Friendly and attentive staff. Small menu but difficult to decide. We like trying out as much as possible so orderwd two appetizers and two entres to share. The chicory salad was dwlicious although on the smaller side, I could have had double the serving. So was the steak tartare, but seasoning was on point. The duck breast was extra crisp and a surprisingly portion which we were not able to finish. The shirt rib was very rich. Too full to have desert.

Welcome to the sky room, where the sky is the limit... but the service meets rock bottom. I came in to try to this place after visiting the rooftop bar.. hoping to enjoy a meal, the restaurant was empty but the reservation list was full... the hostess was less than gracious in placing me on the purported guest list. An hour wait time for an empty restaurant... sigh what an embarrassment, the breakers in West Palm would never. Don't mind the fact I had dinner with them last night... sky room, please fix this.. I had high hopes.. but this service is abismal.

*All* the tableware was gorgeous. I would have taken this charger plate home if I could have!

I've been wanting to try out the newly renovated Sky Room for a while now so I took my wife, son and d-in-law for a pre-Christmas dinner. We had a great experience overall. Food, service, cocktails, and the views were all exceptional. We never felt rushed, but staff were on-hand for any questions when something came up. I'd highly recommend the Bananas Foster table side. That was special! Between the four of us we had scallops, steak, duck, and fish. We got a couple of orders of their Parker House rolls, and a couple of cocktails also. If you're into bourbon I recommend the Sky Room Old Fashioned - remarkable. I will not hesitate to return.

Located at Fairmont hotel, offers a nice view of the city. The restaurant itself has a great ambiance for date night. Service took a while even just for the drinks. In my opinion, food is overpriced. The crab cake is so tiny for its price. I liked the short rib (it's so tender) and the duck breast (nice and juicy - ask for it to be cooked medium). They have a rooftop bar just 1 floor above the SkyRoom.

Came here in October for my friend's birthday dinner, and it was awesome. Started with a dirty martini with blue cheese olives, and it was great. Really all the food, including the fish I got was stellar. They gave us a private room with amazing service and views, since we had a decently large group. Highly recommend for a date night or a special occasion.

Another part of our fabulous stay at the Fairmont Breakers was a dinner at Sky Room. Had never been to the hotel or any bars here and I was definitely missing out! The room is so beautiful, at the top floor and dimly lit, with comfy chairs and benches. At night, you can see out of the tall windows to the harbor and the Queen Mary and the other sites. We had a table all the way at the end, near the kitchen doors and a more limited view, so that was disappointing, but we still had much of a view so def. not a big issue. Our server helped us right away and offered many suggestions related to the menu. I'm not a big meat eater so I opted to order several side dishes, and my guy got a steak dinner. Portions pretty small as you can see in the photo (esp for the prices!) but the food was delicious! I wouldn't recommend the rolls and butter for $6, that should have definitely been included in the price of dining there. The carrots were so good, and the potatoes were fire. I wouldn't go back as the menu wasn't that thrilling for me, but I def recommend to try it once.

Beef Wellington! Yum

The Sky Room in Long Beach is absolutely amazing. From the moment you walk in, the ambiance is classy, quiet, and elevated with a beautiful view of Long Beach. Honestly, there isn't a single bad seat in the entire restaurant -- every table feels special. They were closed for some time, but since reopening last year, it has quickly become one of our favorite places. The price is completely worth it. Every single thing we've tried -- from the appetizers to the entrées -- has been exceptional. Taylor was the first server who helped us and he was genuinely so sweet and incredibly attentive. We've also met Eric, who is just as awesome -- super down to earth and always happy to give great recommendations. He's also so easy to talk to and makes you feel at home. David truly knows how to pair food and wine perfectly, which elevated the entire experience. And Alicia at the front of the house is always so welcoming and helpful when seating us. They remember us every time, and we truly feel like family when we're there. The Beef Wellington is an absolute MUST. It's decadent, perfectly cooked, and honestly even better than Gordon Ramsay's famous Beef Wellington. That's saying a lot! The drinks are just as impressive -- beautifully crafted and delicious. Whether it's a special occasion or just a night out to enjoy an incredible meal with a stunning view, Sky Room is the place to go. We love coming here and will absolutely keep coming back. Highly recommend!

Ask the Community - Sky Room

Is there a corkage fee?

I was informed by a friend that dined there that it is $50.00 per bottle, with 2 bottles maximum allowed.

Is there anything done for dinners on special occasions? I have a Wedding Anniversary coming up and dinner reservations at your restaurant.. Thank you.

Yes, just call ahead. They had a dessert for my friend's bday.

Is the dance floor still around for dinner and dancing?

I didn't see a dance floor, but there is a rooftop and DJ and downstairs has a bar and sometimes a live band.

Is there a dress code? Are ties and jackets required?

Don't need a jacket and tie, but business casual is a smart choice.

Do they allow for walk in's for only drinks at the bar?

Yes, they do. Also, you might get a table if someone with a reservation doesn't show up.

Is there still dancing?

There isn't really room for that in the restaurant. There is a rooftop bar on the 14th floor, Halo, with music over speakers and lots of space in the outdoor patio section.

Tell me to meet you somewhere and I'll be there. Simple as that and less stress for me. Anyways, that's how we ended up at this place. Trying to find happy hour with food in the area was somewhat a challenge. Either they were finishing up or it wasn't that interesting on the menu. Of course some places offered amazing drink deals but no food. We ended up here actually across the street still looking up for places but the rooftop patio was what caught our attention. The restaurant itself looked bare as there was no one inside. Still on the early side but noticing people going in and then heading up stairs. After a few debates on here and there, we gave up and found our way here. Checked in with the host, letting him know that we just wanted happy hour upstairs. It was about two flights of stairs which the place looked quite industrial with all the metal beams and stairs. Downstairs was beautiful but completely emptied. Everyone wanted to utilize the rooftop patio as it was beautiful out. We were greeted by someone which mentioned to us that any bar seating was available. There was a section towards the back that was pretty lively. I think it was booked for a group. Instead of the bar area, we asked to sit along the rooftop counter that looks out to the street and building across the street. Way better view and perfect way to spend the afternoon hours. Staff were all pretty sweet and very friendly. Whatever we needed they were they to help. Both the regular menu and happy hour menu were quite impressive. As we just wanted HH, it was given. They had drink special for 10.00 and small bites for 10.00 as well. Didn't hesitate and started off with some drinks. The red sangria with mixed fruits was a nice clean and refreshing treat. Tasteful without that aftertaste. And the Le Pistolet Fumant, a delectable tasty drink with mezcal with a hint of pineapple. And other well drink that was perfect for a nice afternoon. HH drink special was quite tasty to start off. Food wise, started off with an order of the Caesar salad, simple but delicious. Fresh crisp Romaine lettuce and slices of Parmesan and crouton bits. Nice crunch with each bite. The dressing, wow pretty tasty. And an order of the Mac and Cheese . Most places it's either a hit or a miss and let me say it was a HIT. Quite cheesy and full of flavors that a second order was had. A dish I do recommend for HH. We also had an order of the Brussels sprouts which was excellent. A nice glaze and crunchy with chunks of house cured pancetta. Nice big chunks I must say. Lastly the beef sliders with Wagyu beef patties. Honestly, this was the least favorite of the dishes we got. You would think it sounded great but it was quite tasteless and nothing major to report on. Served with brioche bun and shredded lettuce and tomatoes and a lemon aioli. I had high hope for it when I saw the group next to us order it but it was a little disappointing. Overall, the Mac and cheese, Caesar salad and Brussels sprouts were all hits. The sliders, disappointing. Other items on HH didn't look too ingesting for us but it was for other people. The rooftop lounge and bar area was the place to be when we were there. It picked up real fast after we got seated. Picnic style tables being occupied by large groups before HH ended. Just the rooftop alone was great and beautiful. It a place that's good for a drink and meal with friends. Downstairs was beautiful but seemed more of an intimate experience. Overall, it was a great choice for a meal during HH.

The ambience was wonderful. They have a full bar, and you can watch the chefs prepare dishes right from your table, which adds to the experience. I also appreciated seeing the general manager actively running food and engaging with guests -- leadership like that shows. They had a somewhat smoky flavor and the outermost leaves were crunchy and a nice contrast to the soft inside of the artichokes. They were also served in a tangy sauce that complimented the vegetable well. My friend's favorite item was the macaroni and cheese. It was chewy and creamy, and the pasta, which Bristy informed us was made in-house, was what my friend thought elevated the dish because it was a nice texture. Sure maybe could have ordered and asked without shrimp but pay the same price? Pass. Ok when I called they mentioned they serve brunch until 3? 3:30 I can't remember. The server mentioned they serve the brunch all day? Either way when I got to ordering this month on the menu it highlighted the shrimp po boy. I tried to order and nope, out. How can you be out of the item highlighted as the special in the middle of the day? When the place is not packed? I tried to order the lobster roll and again, out. I was tempted to order their short rib poutine since in theory it sounded good, but at this point I tried something simple I would hope they have in the kitchen chicken and waffles. The plate came and it looks good. If you look at the picture at the bottom of the chicken you can see a dark something. As I lift my chicken I found a huge burnt piece of breading pictured next. On top of the chicken is green onion I think? Who eats that with chicken and waffles? If I am wrong, a garnish is totally unnecessary for this dish. The chicken was moist. There are spices in the flour breading I can see but hard to taste what it is. The waffle is a hard pass for me. The waffle was crispy which is good, but also thin and dry and I couldn't taste any sweetness until I put maple syrup on it. The syrup came out warm which was nice. It's clear watching the people at the bar this is a local hangout. The chicken and waffles were $19 which if I was in the bay I think it's about right, but I think a little high considering the level of food I got. Supposedly this place is packed specifically on Sundays. The server doesn't know why? I'm not interested to even try to come back for a second chance and just be told sold out of the menu.

Once seated, they were fairly quick to come and take our order. We ordered: 1. Satay chicken 2. Yellow Curry with Chicken 3. Beef Pad See Ew and 4. Shrimp Pad Thai Everything was absolutely amazing! I could eat yellow curry for the rest of my life and this was one of the best ones I've had. We did get a red Eden cocktail and a beer. The cocktail was good! Not too sweet or strong. Service was great, too! Friendly and very attentive. The restaurant itself is very clean and the decor is very demure haha it's cute and spacious. Very welcoming! This is such a hidden gem! I'm so happy we decided to try this place out. We will definitely be back!! Worth the drive!!

My wife and I had an excellent Sunday brunch experience here. We sat in their shaded patio and…read morelistened to the duet jazz band sipping cocktails and eating delicious food. I started with a cup of their beef and barley soup. My wife and I both make this at home from scratch and we're both impressed by theirs. My wife took a taste of mine and instantly ordered her own. Very rich and flavorful. I kept looking at photos of their take on chicken and waffles and knew I had to try it. Seriously epic and was good as it looked. They coated the chicken in a chili rub that gave it a sweet and spicy flavor when paired with their maple syrup. Served on top of a waffle and topped with an egg. I loved it and would probably order again on my next visit. My wife had the American plate which was your classic eggs, bacon, potatoes, and sourdough toast combo. High quality ingredients elevated it beyond your typical diner food. Drinks were great too. I had their house made bloody mary which had a nice kick to it. My wife had their brunch version of a Corpse Reviver cocktail. After our meals were done we finished with an Irish coffee since everyone was ordering them. Perfect service, relaxing atmosphere, and delicious food will definitely have me returning very soon! Parking is free for 2 hours at the nearby garage on 3rd and is a very short walk. The closer garage on Broadway is not free. You can make restaurant reservations on their website but it wasn't needed when we went.
