Easy to make reservations online, street parking only i believe so beware. Felt very intimate and stylish. They have modern mexican menu and at a decent price. Staff was very welcoming and helpful, they recommended some good stuff. We had the ceviche, quesadilla de hongos and the arrachera. Everything was delicious, but the ceviche stood out to me, my husband loved the arrachera. Would recommend to try them out, we did notice a lot of groups in the restaurant so they are accomodating to larger groups.

A Mexican restaurant where luxury flirts shamelessly with quality. 5 out of 5 stars for the Happy Hour menu alone--honestly, it feels like the main character here. For cocktails, we went with the MARGARITA DE LA CASA and PALOMA BLANCA, and they were absolutely FANTASTIC. Balanced, refreshing, and dangerously easy to sip. For small bites, we ordered four tacos (Ribeye, Shrimp, Pork Belly, and Fish) and every single one completed the assignment. Clean, bold flavors wrapped in hand-pressed corn tortillas that were nothing short of phenomenal. All in, it came out to around $60-ish. Pricey? Sure. But when you see the presentation on this dish, it's what it is. We also ordered from the dinner menu with Guacamole, Arrachera (Skirt Steak), and Pescado Zarandeado (Branzino). Solid across the board, though at these prices, I think most people come just as much for the vibe and the company as they do for the food. Every dish was beautifully presented and IG worthy shots but the true sleeper hit? The CHIPS AND SALSA. Hands down some of the TASTIEST SALSA I've had, quietly stealing the show from the more expensive plates. Between the standout Happy Hour bites and those unforgettable salsas, this place left a meaningful taste and a very good reason for me to come back again.

I've been wanting to try this place out for a while now and so glad I did last night. My bestie and I went here for dinner last night and we couldn't have made a better choice! The food was delicious, they give you complimentary freshly made chips and salsa. The salsa had a fiery kick to it! I loved it! We started off with an order of guacamole to share and the octopus tentacles. The octopus tentacles come with a potato puree garnished with some chorizo. It was amazing! The tentacles were cooked to perfection, tender, and delicious! Highly recommend this one! For my entree I ordered the chicken but decided to request no mole for my chicken dish. I'm not a fan of mole just not my thing. So they accommodated the request and gave me a side of poblano creama. The chicken was perfectly seasoned, tender, and juicy! It was served on a bed of rice and came with some sweet plantains! It was amazing! Location was pretty. I like the decor, the vibe, the architecture very aesthetically pleasing. I definitely like the ambiance

FOOD (4/5): Wow! 1st time here and it was AMAZING! Loved (almost) everything. Only one item we didn't love - the ribeye. $24 CEVICHE: fresh, perfectly flavored, eat with chips and it's the perfect texture combination. $30 PULPO: loved the presentation, octopus with a potato puree (mashed potato). Loving all the sauces served with each dish!! $28 CHICHARRON DE RIBEYE: wow! How unique. Crispy ribeye on top of guacamole with fresh tortillas. Those chilies have cheese inside. YUM! $14 VEGETALES: vegetables seen very simple, but these added so much depth and flavor to the entire meal. They were perfectly roasted, had a great variety, perfectly plated on top a delicious poblano cream sauce! $66 BONE-IN RIBEYE: only item we didn't love. We didn't even eat it, and had every intention to pay for it and just take the hit, but the manager was so nice and took it off our bill. This was no small ticket item, so it adds so much value to the service they provide. We would've paid for it either way, but just shows you what kind of restaurant this is. Thank you. $5 SIDE CHILES: too hot for me! But if you want to add some spice to your meal, order these! $15 DULCE DE LECHE: LOVED THIS! Warm, soft, gooey on the inside, combined with a simple vanilla ice cream. Perfect ending to the meal. We shared between 2 people. Pair it with a TAWNY PORT for the PERFECT pairing! DRINKS (5/5): $16 LEMON DROP MARTINI: can't go wrong with this fan favorite drink! $14 TAWNY PORT (10 YR): I love sweet wines and dessert wines. Ports are one of my favorite ways to end a meal. SERVICE (5/5): Best service ever. Nothing more need be said! OVERALL: Loved this restaurant! Will definitely be recommending this to everyone and will be back to try all the rest of the items on the menu. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

Came in for my fiancé's birthday dinner on a Monday night. The service was great, our server was really friendly and attentive. The ambience, for a Monday, was good. Nice music and a pretty indoor space. Now the food. The food actually blew us away. A lot of restaurants want to do upscale Mexican food and a lot of times the authenticity is lost, as well as some of the flavor that makes Mexican food special. Not here. Everything we tried was on point and super flavorful. It really was the some of the best food we've had in a while (not just Mexican). We can't wait to come back and try more of the menu. The cocktails by the way, were also very good.

Randomly searched Yelp, found Viaje in Long Beach, and decided to give it a try. Honestly such a good call. The ambiance was great -- we chose to sit outside and it just felt easy and relaxed. Our server was super helpful and made some really solid recommendations. We started with the tacos dorados de papa and asked for a vegetarian version of the short rib aopes with mushrooms instead -- and they were delicious. So much flavor. For our main, we had the chile relleno. It was an interesting take on the classic, not traditional but really well done. Dessert was churros and tres leches. Both beautifully presented and definitely worth it. I wish I would've taken photos of all the food but only photographed the dessert and it was definitely as good as it looks. Would absolutely go back.

We went to Viaje for my birthday dinner. The food was excellent and the restaurant is beautiful. Our server was very helpful in recommending dishes and offering solutions. The Sopas came with 3 and there were 4 in our party, so he added one more. I'm glad we did because they were very good. The whole meal was excellent, the lamb and beef dishes were delicious. Our server was excellent. There were a couple of missteps from kitchen, but everything was taken care of quickly. I loved the Pan de Elote dessert. The cocktails were delicious. I'm not a fan of Mezcal, so I had to hunt around for a tequila based drink that worked for me - but it was worth it.

Excellent service by Eric! He was very accommodating and attentive throughout our meal. We ordered the salad, lamb, and chicken mole. All of it was made well. The meat was tender and the sauces were deep. We also got the tres leches cake at the end which is probably my highlight for the night!

First time at Viaje and it was for my bf birthday. Reservations were super easy to make and they were able to accomodate our party of 9. When we arrived it was smooth check-in and our table and server were ready to go and get our drinks in. Food was delicious. We all ordered something different and tried a bite of each lol sooo good. Service was great even though we had a small tiny hiccup. The manager was able to resolve and the night ended on a great note.

The Pescado con Almejas (Chilean sea bass, clams, rice, smoked Chile). Excellent!

I stopped into Viaje in Long Beach on a business trip and had a fantastic visit. I sat at the spacious bar and ordered a margarita made with the bartender's recommended Añejo tequila. It was smooth, bold, and well balanced. For dinner I had the Chile Relleno (shrimp, octopus & portobello with white wine and clam-juice sauce). It was different, and outstanding. Generous seafood, a smart twist on the classic Chile Relleno, and rich in flavors. The ambiance is upscale Mexican -- stylish but comfortable, lively but approachable. Service was excellent. I liked it so much I returned later in the week with colleagues (on my recommendation) and the experience was just as strong. If you're looking for inspired Mexican dishes and exceptional cocktails, Viaje is a top-tier choice in my opinion. 5 stars!

This is one of my favorite spots on Second Street. It offers elevated Mexican cuisine with beautiful Oaxacan influence, and every dish feels thoughtfully crafted. The flavors are rich and layered, bringing a sense of nostalgia while still surprising my palate in the best way. The interior design adds to the experience, giving it a more refined, upscale feel without losing that laidback comfort. The staff is always friendly and welcoming, which makes it even more enjoyable to dine here. It is on the pricier side for Mexican food, but like any restaurant that truly focuses on quality ingredients, technique, and flavor, it is absolutely worth it.

Came here for Nye dinner with the hubby and we absolutely loved it. Lamb shank is awesome. Our drinks were amazing. I ordered the mezcal drink that's a bit spicy and it was delish!! Can't wait to come back again!! This place is much better than the Mexican restaurants in Newport Beach. Trust!!!

We'ce been meaning to try out the this place since it opened and what better excuse than an expiring resy credit from Amex Platinum. Good attentive service in a modern and dark space. Food was delicious and on point. The ceviche was flavorful and so was the black ink aguachile. The lamb portion was massive! We will definitely be coming back to try more dishes.

I've never asked. But speak to the managers, either Eduardo or Adrian. They're super approachable and kind and helpful.

Would this place be ideal to go for a single, self date night out? Seriously looks wonderful to sit at the bar and enjoy a good drink and food !

Oh most definitely yes... I'm all about self love and this is a perfect self date I would take myself! Belly up at the bar and enjoy your viaje?

    Is it kid friendly?

No kid menu there.. so may depend on the kid and if they would like the food on the menu.

Do I need a reservation for Friday night?

I'd say yes! Unless you get there early. This place is always packed

Definitely worth it! The vibes are unmatched. It's a unique blend of "top notch cocktail crafting" and "beer and a hot pretzel after work." You can dress up, you can dress down, it's very 'just be yourself' which I love. I've literally had caviar AND hot dogs there in the same night at an event. They know how to blend high/low. Incredible knowledge and ingredients but not snooty patootie. Super inclusive and fun, with cool popups and events happening all the time. It's a full bar so you can get any cocktail you would normally order if you're keeping it simple, or beer, wine, boilermakers, etc. There's a span of offerings and price points, so something for everyone. (Also really good N/A cocktails!) The menu is super inventive and creative! And the cocktail menu changes out every so often so there are new things to try. This area is vintage vibes and Baby Gee speaks it fluently. Really cool decor, curated by the owners who design everything from the playlist to the cocktails to the invention of never-before-seen flavors and shapes of jello shots. I was excited to see on the menu that they were serving Kinobi gin from Kyoto. I discovered this gin on a trip to Kyoto have since bought it regularly. To my surprise, when I saw the bartenders making the drinks they were using Gray Whale. Gray Whale is fine, but it's not in the same league at Kinobi. I realize Kinobi can be hard to find at times but If there's a substitution like that, the server should say something when you order the drink or if it's a recipe change, the menu should be updated. Speaking of service, that's what really brought me to write this re view. Before we even ordered we were told that we would only have 90 minutes. That honestly killed the vibe and made us feel rushed. Like the OpenTable confirmation even said we'd have two hours. And for tge rest of our time there our server pretty much ignored us. They forgot some of the food we ordered and shoved the check in our face when they wanted us to leave. I'm guessing they were stretched too thin? I think they need to hire another person to be a server or maybe get an extra bartender and have them wait on the people at the bar. At a bar like this service is everything. Being a Japanese themed bar you'd think they would try to copy the level of service you'd have in Japan. I just moved to the neighborhood and probably won't return after our experience.

And this one time I was there alone with another, no other patrons just staff members walking around from time to time. We stole the moment to dance under the Long Beach sky, just the two of us as a famous Christina Perrio song gently wafted in the night breeze. At another separate time, I was at the Los Angeles County Fair with another. We rode the ferris wheel at such a time where our gondola stopped at the top just as the sun set. The moment was nothing but beautiful and life affirming because the sinking of the sun's light was like a real life video of nature happening in front of us, unburdened by static or data stall. We witnessed nature resting, and I feel, that it was a kin to a beauty falling into a gentle sleep. These two instances have a common factor: momentary bliss arrived to bless an experience because the environment supported discovery of unplanned joy. That is what I associate with the Wicked Wolf, and this time the joy arrived eventually because when my Mom and I arrived to their high tea on Mother's Day the experienced seem like it would land nowhere good. Truth be told, my mom and I arrived 15 minutes early and there was no host in the stand and the place was empty except for a foursome. The energy felt lacked luster. One or two minutes after, the bartender informed us that we were early and the host would come soon. We sat in an available sofa for two, a loveseat persay. This gave us an opportunity to admire the decor that transported us to a storybook forest where good fairies reside, not like swamp creatures and trolls with malevolent fangs and dragon green eyes. I especially loved the large roses in the ceiling. To set the stage, the black ceiling had vines hanging from it, and the few roses were pops of crimson red displayed above. These were wonderful accents to the central mural of the joint that invited the viewer within deeper into the fairy forest where a light shone on an unseen meadow. The place had the decorations and general environment to be a lavender fairy's lounge, but, it did not fully work as a team room. For instance, my mom and I were sat in another lover's couch. Initially, I did not want to sit here because we were given circular tray sets. So imagine being told to sit in a couch, and each of us would get a tv tray. So I was left to wonder if we were going to be served tea in Belle's living room or if were going to watch a flick as we ate pollo loco bowl? But then as I settled into the tranquility of the moment, saw more people come and find their seat or couch, and as the serviced picked-up I realized that this was high tea in a place that had taken disjointed beauty and tackied it together for a patched tea experience that worked well. It was like the experienced was blessed and allowed by the same spirit that brought forth Raggedy Ann. For instance, the pictures show these pretty violet petaled tea cups and matching plates. This pairing was dainty and perfect for a tea party happening under pink veils. But then the sugar cubes came in a hedgehog shaped holder which was just as precious as seeing a piglet in a carriage built for one. Then the cream carrier was in the shape of a milk carton. I wondered where the missing child portrait was? The pastry plate was in the shape of a tropical flower like the ones scattered all over Hawaii. It belonged in a beautiful lei. Each of these elements was cute in its own delicate and whimsical way but together they made an eclectic hodgepodge, not a coherent tea set. And in this asymmetry laid the glitter of their error. The host also brought these clip on dainty hats that were perfect touches for make believe tea party. He carried them around in their original packing, including the box they came in. Not exactly the tailor of the queen, offering hats to the villagers as a gift from her to them, but still the effort magnified the moment. The tea food was the worst stumble that Red took as she was being chased by the Wicked Wolf. To begin with the end analysis, the tea offerings in general were standard, and not bites fit for a princess and her wedding court. For instance, the cream cheese and cucumber sandwich was just that---- a cucumber and cream cheese sandwich. I detected no effort to make it more than that. The blueberry scone was solid, nothing to skip through a meadow about. But once you added the jam of the table to the scone it was much easier to enjoy. I also had a madeline that was fluffy in the center but could have been purchased maybe at Costco. I had a Macaron and same thing, delicious but I have had something similar before and I suspected that it did not come from a place afloat with Parisian affairs. The best part of the tiers was this puff like thing that had like a Concha texture and design at the top. It was a sweet filled bite that was fit for a man made of muffin.

I was really excited to visit this bar--I've always been a huge fan of fairy tales and thought the…read moretheme was such a fun concept for a bar. When we got there, I felt that the decorations and drinks felt a bit gimmicky, with random fairy tale-esque elements like a throne and massive red roses. I thought it would have been very cool to see Easter eggs and more intentionality bringing the atmosphere together. Since it was an hour before closing, we didn't plan to stay very long. The two people working at the bar were both unwelcoming and seemed upset that we were there (there were other people at the bar, including people who arrived later in the night than us). We paid for our drinks, which cost over $40 for 2 drinks with tip. My cocktail was $17 and came in a glass barely bigger than a shot glass. We left around the time they were calling for last call. I can understand not wanting stragglers who prevent the bartenders from closing late, but I would have much preferred being turned away at the door rather than paying and tipping for an overall unpleasant experience.

What I really appreciate is that sometimes it's even kid-friendly, which makes it a great option if you're not just going out solo or with friends. I've been coming around since back when it was Iguana Kelly's, and it's been cool to see how the place has evolved while still keeping that local, neighborhood feel. The location is super easy to find, right next to a donut shop and a mechanic, and across the street you've got a 7-Eleven, Subway, and a few other small spots. Plus, Tommy's Burgers and an Arco are right nearby, so everything you might need is within reach. I tried both the cucumber mixed drink and the mango mixed drink, both were really good, but I personally preferred the cucumber one. It's less sweet and way more refreshing, especially if you're not into overly sugary drinks. We also had a BBQ chicken pizza that they cook in a fire oven (I think it's called a wood-fired pizza), and it was really good, definitely worth trying if you go. Service was good During the outdoor event, they had things set up really well, including a sign that read "21 and over beyond this point only," which helped keep things organized. They also had jumpers outside for the little ones to enjoy, along with tables and chairs so everyone could hang out comfortably. Parking can be a bit tight in their lot, but there's always street parking if you take a minute to read the signs. Overall, it's a great hangout spot with a welcoming atmosphere and something happening more often than not. Definitely worth checking out.

The vibe was perfect...great energy with plenty of room to dance. The cocktails were excellent, and the bartenders, Jose and Jocelyn, were incredibly attentive and helped make the night even better. Honestly, every staff member we interacted with, from the promoter to the security guard, was fantastic and contributed to such a fun welcoming atmosphere. The decor was such a fun surprise...tons of palm trees and inflatables made it feel like you were in a tropical getaway rather than just a pizza restaurant. They also had a photo booth, which added another fun touch to the night. We took a ton of pictures in it. We really appreciated the gender-neutral bathrooms and the overall safe, inclusive environment that made our whole group feel comfortable drinking, dancing, and celebrating. Parking can be rough, but as a Long Beach native I already knew that, so we chose to Uber.. We'll absolutely be making the trip back from North Orange County to visit again!

We arrived and there were a few parties leaving, we walked to the bar area and the two servers were occupied with other guests, so we patiently waited. Finally one of them approached us and shared the menu, another gentleman came to the bar and he was quickly greeted with a hello and our same server immediately shared the menu. The gentleman politely said, these ladies were here first please take their order first, which the server did but was not so happy about. To our surprise the server still prepared his drinks first. The gentleman very surprised apologized since he knew we were there before him. With our drinks in hand we found a table with some empty seats. The table side where we sat had a sprite glass bottle and a glass that hadn't been picked up since the last party left. We moved it a side to set our drinks and finally enjoy our conversation. A different server came to the table and asked the gentleman next to us to get his empty glass and she completely ignored our side. She did another round and I finally asked her to pick up the bottle that was left by another party before us. I asked her for the menu again, she brought it but she did say that I had go back up to the bar to order any additional drinks. We decided to not order a second round and head up to the terrace.

He was kind, polite, and carried himself with such warmth -- and yes, those curls were beautiful. He set the tone for the entire experience. Demetrius seated us, and our server Joe took great care of us. For starters, we ordered the wedge salad and the meatballs. Both were fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. For our entrées, we had the grilled salmon with bok choy and mashed potatoes, and the steak sandwich with French fries. Everything was delicious, well-seasoned, and cooked just right. The ambience was wonderful. They have a full bar, and you can watch the chefs prepare dishes right from your table, which adds to the experience. I also appreciated seeing the general manager actively running food and engaging with guests -- leadership like that shows. Another thing that stood out was how clean and organized the restaurant stayed. The moment a table was vacated, it was cleared and reset within minutes. Everything looked spotless. There's so much on the menu that I want to come back and try. I highly recommend this place. And last but definitely not least -- thank you, Demetrius, for noticing my parking time had expired and getting me that extra 15 minutes. You saved me a ticket. You're a true gem.
