I can't lie. This place is a block from my house. And it is so convenient. I go here all the time. But even if it was not so convenient, I'd still make the trip. They have things on the menu I love. And I like that they try to add new ones, but I'm being honest, I love the things I have had for years, and are very sad when they are gone. But you will have to believe me about this. They have the best chips in town. No comparison. And the three dips that come with an order are the best!!! Eat in the bar for happy hour and enjoy the specials.

I love this place! They have a fantastic happy hour and I got the shredded beef taco. Wow it was so good! I can't stop thinking about it. Our waitress was also our bartender and she made the best drinks I've ever had! The place is super cute. Has a couple of different areas to sit in, well lit and super clean. Plenty of street parking.

Who doesn't love a HH on the weekend?!?! Parking is a wee bit of a challenge, which is what Broadway is known for. We bellied up to the bar, got a pitcher of margaritas and shared a couple of HH munchies. The bartenders are super nice too. AND they allow dogs. Bonus!!

I've been here many times over the years and have not been disappointed. Even when busy, the staff is always attentive, which I appreciate. I actually came here with my brother on Thanksgiving as well after travel plans were cancelled. We actually came here because they didn't have a prefix holiday menu only and we were able to order from the regular menu as well. We both tried dishes we had not previously, and thoroughly enjoyed everything, including our cocktails. With so many restaurants closing in Long Beach, I'm glad Panxa is still here.

I've heard so many good things about this place & I had to find out for myself ... unfortunately my experience wasn't as spectacular as everyone made it seem it would be ... the food was okay, and the service was okay.. 1 brunch dish Sopes Benedicto and 1 appetizer Street Corn were actually yummy! I will definitely try this place again and pick some other items to see if they change my mind .. but sadly ..I was not impressed.

I had the best fry bread taco here! We had their queso, so good. My husband had the enchilada with red and green sauce. We had their margarita and they were fantastic. We ended with some delicious blonde dessert. Our server was friendly and kind. Love the ambiance of the place.

Went out with some friends and this was my first time at Panxa Cocina. Let me start with parking. Street parking only. There is a parking lot attached to restaurant and that is permit parking only, subject to tow. Inside is nicely decorated. There is a separate seating area by the bar that has TVs to watch sporting events. The drinks were really good. Had Here we go aGin and an old fashioned. Preferred the Gin. I had the Three Prawns that come with a house made pasta and it was really good. Had a nice spice kick to it. Service was great and the decor was inviting.

Happy Hour is always the BEST at Panxa Cocina! Today I had the Chicken Chimichanga and the Short Rib Taquitos...of course, with their fabulous Margaritas. Great service. Great atmosphere. Great food. Just all around Great Place!!

Okay, real talk: I showed up at Panxa Cocina in Long Beach expecting a romantic meet-a-cute via Hinge. Instead, I got a plot twist that would make a B-movie jealous. BUT -- thank heavens -- Panxa saved the night. The date? Actual chaos (let's just say "quasi mental patient" in the nicest possible way). The food and atmosphere at Panxa? Absolute miracle workers. The tacos I ordered were stellar. The modern New Mexican / Southwestern vibe they rock here is bold, creative, and just fun. Bonus for the gluten‐free folks: They've got you. There are plenty of gluten‐free and vegan options mentioned by reviewers, so you won't feel like you're sacrificing flavor or fun. The service? Kind, sharp, and unbothered by the drama happening at my table (no judgement, just deliciousness). The atmosphere? Cool, casual, neighborhood‐chic, the kind of place you could totally bring friends or family and have a great time. Here's the kicker: I will be going back -- and next time I'm bringing people who deserve to experience this hidden gem. Because if a dinner that started out super awkward ended up being this good, imagine how awesome it'll be when I'm in full "friendly crew" mode. If you're looking for food that speaks louder than weird date stories, Panxa Cocina is your spot.

Came here for a late night dinner with a big group, they were surprisingly accommodating even though it was close to closing time and even split the check multiple ways. Kudos to Panxa for excellent service in that regard, and our waitress was also very attentive and friendly. Street parking only. Once you step in, the restaurant is fairly large and beautifully decorated. The menu is diverse and prices on the slightly higher end, though portions are generous and the presentation of dishes are top notch. I ordered the octopus ceviche and posole, which were both phenomenal. The posole was a bit spicy and smokey in flavor, different than the Mexican pozoles I am more accustomed to, and was served with scrumptious fry bread. They even serve the good kind of totopos (tortilla chips)! I also got to taste some of the mole enchiladas, which while a tad sweet for me was also tasty. Overall, a hidden gem and glad that someone decided to come for his birthday or else I may have never stumbled upon Panxa!

Hmm I got here for Happy Hour, and I still don't think it was entirely worth it.  I got the margapeno, watermelon basil margarita, ceviche, chicken tacos, and duck chilaquiles. Drinks were pretty good, and $2 off for Happy Hour. They weren't too sweet, and had good, fun flavors.  The ceviche was pretty mediocre with no strong flavors in acid or spice. The best part was definitely the tortilla chips. This also meant that the duck chilaquiles were my favorite. They were very flavorful, and the chips maintained a bit of their crunch, even doused in sauce. The duck was also nicely cooked and tender. The tacos were lackluster and overpriced. I think there are plenty of good Mexican restaurants in Long Beach, and even better "upscale" Mexican restaurants. I don't think Panxa is a must visit, unfortunately.

The environment was pretty nice I loved the aesthetic and the service was pretty good. Although it took a second for them to notice we were ready for the check but it was nice having the time to talk while we waited. The food was not the best but it was good. My bf had the pozole and it was good but missing a bit a salt. And the peta bread was super yummy. I had the enchilada which was also good but I couldn't get past the filling that it was missing something.

Absolutely love the ambience here. Good music and good food at a reasonable price. Bartenders Shelby and Bryce were Amazing. Amanda and Shelby were also so sweet.

I was excited to see on the menu that they were serving Kinobi gin from Kyoto. I discovered this gin on a trip to Kyoto have since bought it regularly. To my surprise, when I saw the bartenders making the drinks they were using Gray Whale. Gray Whale is fine, but it's not in the same league at Kinobi. I realize Kinobi can be hard to find at times but If there's a substitution like that, the server should say something when you order the drink or if it's a recipe change, the menu should be updated. Speaking of service, that's what really brought me to write this re view. Before we even ordered we were told that we would only have 90 minutes. That honestly killed the vibe and made us feel rushed. Like the OpenTable confirmation even said we'd have two hours. And for tge rest of our time there our server pretty much ignored us. They forgot some of the food we ordered and shoved the check in our face when they wanted us to leave. I'm guessing they were stretched too thin? I think they need to hire another person to be a server or maybe get an extra bartender and have them wait on the people at the bar. At a bar like this service is everything. Being a Japanese themed bar you'd think they would try to copy the level of service you'd have in Japan. I just moved to the neighborhood and probably won't return after our experience.

And this one time I was there alone with another, no other patrons just staff members walking around from time to time. We stole the moment to dance under the Long Beach sky, just the two of us as a famous Christina Perrio song gently wafted in the night breeze. At another separate time, I was at the Los Angeles County Fair with another. We rode the ferris wheel at such a time where our gondola stopped at the top just as the sun set. The moment was nothing but beautiful and life affirming because the sinking of the sun's light was like a real life video of nature happening in front of us, unburdened by static or data stall. We witnessed nature resting, and I feel, that it was a kin to a beauty falling into a gentle sleep. These two instances have a common factor: momentary bliss arrived to bless an experience because the environment supported discovery of unplanned joy. That is what I associate with the Wicked Wolf, and this time the joy arrived eventually because when my Mom and I arrived to their high tea on Mother's Day the experienced seem like it would land nowhere good. Truth be told, my mom and I arrived 15 minutes early and there was no host in the stand and the place was empty except for a foursome. The energy felt lacked luster. One or two minutes after, the bartender informed us that we were early and the host would come soon. We sat in an available sofa for two, a loveseat persay. This gave us an opportunity to admire the decor that transported us to a storybook forest where good fairies reside, not like swamp creatures and trolls with malevolent fangs and dragon green eyes. I especially loved the large roses in the ceiling. To set the stage, the black ceiling had vines hanging from it, and the few roses were pops of crimson red displayed above. These were wonderful accents to the central mural of the joint that invited the viewer within deeper into the fairy forest where a light shone on an unseen meadow. The place had the decorations and general environment to be a lavender fairy's lounge, but, it did not fully work as a team room. For instance, my mom and I were sat in another lover's couch. Initially, I did not want to sit here because we were given circular tray sets. So imagine being told to sit in a couch, and each of us would get a tv tray. So I was left to wonder if we were going to be served tea in Belle's living room or if were going to watch a flick as we ate pollo loco bowl? But then as I settled into the tranquility of the moment, saw more people come and find their seat or couch, and as the serviced picked-up I realized that this was high tea in a place that had taken disjointed beauty and tackied it together for a patched tea experience that worked well. It was like the experienced was blessed and allowed by the same spirit that brought forth Raggedy Ann. For instance, the pictures show these pretty violet petaled tea cups and matching plates. This pairing was dainty and perfect for a tea party happening under pink veils. But then the sugar cubes came in a hedgehog shaped holder which was just as precious as seeing a piglet in a carriage built for one. Then the cream carrier was in the shape of a milk carton. I wondered where the missing child portrait was? The pastry plate was in the shape of a tropical flower like the ones scattered all over Hawaii. It belonged in a beautiful lei. Each of these elements was cute in its own delicate and whimsical way but together they made an eclectic hodgepodge, not a coherent tea set. And in this asymmetry laid the glitter of their error. The host also brought these clip on dainty hats that were perfect touches for make believe tea party. He carried them around in their original packing, including the box they came in. Not exactly the tailor of the queen, offering hats to the villagers as a gift from her to them, but still the effort magnified the moment. The tea food was the worst stumble that Red took as she was being chased by the Wicked Wolf. To begin with the end analysis, the tea offerings in general were standard, and not bites fit for a princess and her wedding court. For instance, the cream cheese and cucumber sandwich was just that---- a cucumber and cream cheese sandwich. I detected no effort to make it more than that. The blueberry scone was solid, nothing to skip through a meadow about. But once you added the jam of the table to the scone it was much easier to enjoy. I also had a madeline that was fluffy in the center but could have been purchased maybe at Costco. I had a Macaron and same thing, delicious but I have had something similar before and I suspected that it did not come from a place afloat with Parisian affairs. The best part of the tiers was this puff like thing that had like a Concha texture and design at the top. It was a sweet filled bite that was fit for a man made of muffin.

I thought it would have been very cool to see Easter eggs and more intentionality bringing the atmosphere together. Since it was an hour before closing, we didn't plan to stay very long. The two people working at the bar were both unwelcoming and seemed upset that we were there (there were other people at the bar, including people who arrived later in the night than us). We paid for our drinks, which cost over $40 for 2 drinks with tip. My cocktail was $17 and came in a glass barely bigger than a shot glass. We left around the time they were calling for last call. I can understand not wanting stragglers who prevent the bartenders from closing late, but I would have much preferred being turned away at the door rather than paying and tipping for an overall unpleasant experience.

What I really appreciate is that sometimes it's even kid-friendly, which makes it a great option if you're not just going out solo or with friends. I've been coming around since back when it was Iguana Kelly's, and it's been cool to see how the place has evolved while still keeping that local, neighborhood feel. The location is super easy to find, right next to a donut shop and a mechanic, and across the street you've got a 7-Eleven, Subway, and a few other small spots. Plus, Tommy's Burgers and an Arco are right nearby, so everything you might need is within reach. I tried both the cucumber mixed drink and the mango mixed drink, both were really good, but I personally preferred the cucumber one. It's less sweet and way more refreshing, especially if you're not into overly sugary drinks. We also had a BBQ chicken pizza that they cook in a fire oven (I think it's called a wood-fired pizza), and it was really good, definitely worth trying if you go. Service was good During the outdoor event, they had things set up really well, including a sign that read "21 and over beyond this point only," which helped keep things organized. They also had jumpers outside for the little ones to enjoy, along with tables and chairs so everyone could hang out comfortably. Parking can be a bit tight in their lot, but there's always street parking if you take a minute to read the signs. Overall, it's a great hangout spot with a welcoming atmosphere and something happening more often than not. Definitely worth checking out.

The vibe was perfect...great energy with plenty of room to dance. The cocktails were excellent, and the bartenders, Jose and Jocelyn, were incredibly attentive and helped make the night even better. Honestly, every staff member we interacted with, from the promoter to the security guard, was fantastic and contributed to such a fun welcoming atmosphere. The decor was such a fun surprise...tons of palm trees and inflatables made it feel like you were in a tropical getaway rather than just a pizza restaurant. They also had a photo booth, which added another fun touch to the night. We took a ton of pictures in it. We really appreciated the gender-neutral bathrooms and the overall safe, inclusive environment that made our whole group feel comfortable drinking, dancing, and celebrating. Parking can be rough, but as a Long Beach native I already knew that, so we chose to Uber.. We'll absolutely be making the trip back from North Orange County to visit again!

The staff are friendly but definitely no-nonsense; which highlights how it's a bar that has food rather than a restaurant-type establishment. It's never the first or only stop of the night but it is worth going by just to feel it out and eat.

We arrived and there were a few parties leaving, we walked to the bar area and the two servers were occupied with other guests, so we patiently waited. Finally one of them approached us and shared the menu, another gentleman came to the bar and he was quickly greeted with a hello and our same server immediately shared the menu. The gentleman politely said, these ladies were here first please take their order first, which the server did but was not so happy about. To our surprise the server still prepared his drinks first. The gentleman very surprised apologized since he knew we were there before him. With our drinks in hand we found a table with some empty seats. The table side where we sat had a sprite glass bottle and a glass that hadn't been picked up since the last party left. We moved it a side to set our drinks and finally enjoy our conversation. A different server came to the table and asked the gentleman next to us to get his empty glass and she completely ignored our side. She did another round and I finally asked her to pick up the bottle that was left by another party before us. I asked her for the menu again, she brought it but she did say that I had go back up to the bar to order any additional drinks. We decided to not order a second round and head up to the terrace.

He was kind, polite, and carried himself with such warmth -- and yes, those curls were beautiful. He set the tone for the entire experience. Demetrius seated us, and our server Joe took great care of us. For starters, we ordered the wedge salad and the meatballs. Both were fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. For our entrées, we had the grilled salmon with bok choy and mashed potatoes, and the steak sandwich with French fries. Everything was delicious, well-seasoned, and cooked just right. The ambience was wonderful. They have a full bar, and you can watch the chefs prepare dishes right from your table, which adds to the experience. I also appreciated seeing the general manager actively running food and engaging with guests -- leadership like that shows. Another thing that stood out was how clean and organized the restaurant stayed. The moment a table was vacated, it was cleared and reset within minutes. Everything looked spotless. There's so much on the menu that I want to come back and try. I highly recommend this place. And last but definitely not least -- thank you, Demetrius, for noticing my parking time had expired and getting me that extra 15 minutes. You saved me a ticket. You're a true gem. I'll be back to Saint & Second very soon.

The Bake Mac & Cheese is a must-order--the crunchy topping is easily the best part and gives it such a great texture. We also tried the Grilled Provoleta.
