Came here on a Saturday night for a comedy show. The bar occupied the main hall and the comedy was hosted in the adjacent room which could accommodate about 30-50 people with chairs and sofa seats. Great cozy place for hang out with a small group of friends. The comedy was great and they have a good selections of drinks if you are in the mood for it.

I used to come here when it was Iguana Kelley's. The service and atmosphere have definitely improved. They retained some of the old and combined with a modern approach. Service was great and Silent Disco Night was a hit. They also have Lakers Watch Parties.

Nautical themed neighborhood cocktail bar with a friendly staff and spaces for games, events, sports and more. There's an outdoor spot too with tables, lounge area and tv. They specialize in Cocktails themed from around the world and also carry beer, wine, seltzers and happy hours! Check out their events calendar for the next watch party, karaoke night and ask about the passport. Thanks for a good time

As far as dive bars go in Long Beach, you're not going to get much better than Port City Tavern. It's like an elevated dive all the charm and character but with way better vibes. The atmosphere here is always on point. They go all out for whatever season it is whether it's Halloween, Christmas, or anything in between, the decor is fun and immersive without feeling cheesy. It's one of those spots that always feels lively but never pretentious. They've got good pool tables and darts, solid outdoor seating, and a chill back room that's perfect for hanging out, talking, or playing a more relaxed game of pool. There's free popcorn popping all night, a good amount of TVs to catch whatever game is on, and well priced cocktails that won't wreck your wallet. It's definitely a Long Beach staple, but what really sets Port City Tavern apart isn't just the games, TVs, or decor it's the bartenders. They're the reason this place feels like home. Blake, Mando, and Kalani are the soul of this bar. They make everyone feel like family, remember faces, pour with care, and keep the energy just right no matter how busy it gets. The bar itself is a solid 4 stars, but the bartenders are 5 stars all day. If you're looking for a true Long Beach neighborhood bar with great vibes and even better people behind the bar, Port City Tavern is it.

Came here to check out the holiday menu. But it straight up disappointed. We had the naughty elf and ya filthy animal. They looked visually appealing but the drinks were not tasty or strong for the price point. The bar itself looks cool to grab some beers watch a game play pool. But the holiday menu was a bust for us. I would return to check the other drink options in the future.

Came here for Oktoberfest. Band playing grunge music. Nice bar area. Trendy drinks. They have a lot going on here. Drinks are craft priced at $15. Bartender very nice and great service. Street parking, but they probably usually have a lot. Fun place, we will be back.

Only for spooky drinks- the decorations were cute but they were playing a baseball game maybe I went too early lol the service was nice only thing two of the few drinks they had to offer were sold out besides that I would say it's more divey vibes more simple if you are looking for that.

Worse business model with two bartenders behind the bar for the entire place! No paper menus along with indifferent service! Not sure if it's the daily experience, but it made the visit less than enjoyable!

Affordable drinks. Friendly staff. Attentive bartenders who recommended a great sour beer for my wife and she loved it. Very clean facilities, pool table. Everything looks brand new including the outdoor sun patio with 6-8 tables to chill at in the sun and enjoy the vibes. Private parking lot and street parking available. Good little spot.

    Such a fun spot!

Ahoy, the best coastal bar is here and has the best drinks ever. The ambiance is cozy mixed with super fun beachy vibes. The people are so nice, and they are very creative every season with their unique cocktails. This place is a must see!

Port City, you're like that friend who went away to college and came back all shiny and brand new. I used to hang out here back in the day under the old management, and while the new look screams "Instagram influencer," it'll always be my favorite Long Beach dive bar at heart. The remodel is really nice. The interior is so upgraded, I almost felt like I should've worn something fancier than my usual jeans & tank top. There's even an upgraded outdoor patio now, which gives "I'm not a dive bar anymore, baby!" Drinks are still top-notch, bartenders are as friendly as ever. Some of the pours can be stiff but who's complaining? Especially when you meet up with old neighborhood friends for a mini-reunion like we did. Pro tip: nothing bonds a group like some competitive shuffleboard or pool (available in two rooms). Parking is available, but good luck snagging a spot unless you arrive early or channel your inner Mario Kart. Inside, there's plenty of seating, but we all know the real fun is standing around chit chatting while looking into an intense game of pool or making new acquaintances with the person standing next to you. PCT is perfect for hanging out, watching a sports game, or reminiscing about when it was "grungier" (Team Iggy's Forever). Just don't forget its dive roots, even with the new classy coat of paint. One star off for limited parking, the "insert bills" pool table and because I low-key miss the sticky floors. Otherwise, this place still knows how to keep it .

We have found our new local, go-to cocktail bar that focuses on tequila cocktails! It took a long time for my partner and I to come here even though it is in our neighborhood, but now that we have we cannot get enough. The menu is very tequila based, which is perfect for us because we are tequila people! There is a great selection of additive-free tequilas and very knowledgable bartenders (shout out Frank) that give amazing recommendations. Large bar, plenty of seating and multiple pool tables. There's about three different sections of seating so you can either be in the thick of it or find a little more private corner. Free popcorn on the side. Currently decked out for spooky season and decor usually matches the seasons. Also running a football season promotion, wear your jersey get your first drink half off. Super cute, chill bar - highly recommend for drinks any time of the day.

Definitely worth it! The vibes are unmatched. It's a unique blend of "top notch cocktail crafting" and "beer and a hot pretzel after work." You can dress up, you can dress down, it's very 'just be yourself' which I love. I've literally had caviar AND hot dogs there in the same night at an event. They know how to blend high/low. Incredible knowledge and ingredients but not snooty patootie. Super inclusive and fun, with cool popups and events happening all the time. It's a full bar so you can get any cocktail you would normally order if you're keeping it simple, or beer, wine, boilermakers, etc. There's a span of offerings and price points, so something for everyone. (Also really good N/A cocktails!) The menu is super inventive and creative! And the cocktail menu changes out every so often so there are new things to try. This area is vintage vibes and Baby Gee speaks it fluently. Really cool decor, curated by the owners who design everything from the playlist to the cocktails to the invention of never-before-seen flavors and shapes of jello shots. PARKING Valet is only $10, which in Southern California basically qualifies as a love language. (Note to Fairmont Breakers Management: Listen up, my friends! Please keep it that way, gas is $5.97/gallon and my wallet is already in therapy.) I handed the valet a $5 tip before I even stepped out of my car, just so I could glide into the lobby feeling like a full‑blown princess making her grand entrance. Before you leave, you simply pay the valet in cash or card and they'll have your car right there before you can even blink. AMBIANCE Walk in and boom! Attentive, sharp memory, and smooth service all the way through. Zero notes. FOOD The menu is small, so if you show up ravenous, pace yourself or plan to Uber home after a cocktail‑heavy evening. I'm allergic to cheese, so I had to double‑check ingredients, but the Mushroom Flatbread was outstanding, flavor was superb and the best part was they did not skimp on the mushrooms! A+ for that. I also tried the Prosciutto di Parma with melon, which is a strange combo for a California girl... but hey, I never said I wasn't a weirdo. Drinks are not my thing since I enjoy company without alcohol's help, so I can't help you with that. DATE‑WORTHY OR NOT? Absolutely. Alter Ego gets a double thumbs‑up from me and a strong recommendation for your next Silver Singles date. And this one time I was there alone with another, no other patrons just staff members walking around from time to time. We stole the moment to dance under the Long Beach sky, just the two of us as a famous Christina Perrio song gently wafted in the night breeze. At another separate time, I was at the Los Angeles County Fair with another. We rode the ferris wheel at such a time where our gondola stopped at the top just as the sun set. The moment was nothing but beautiful and life affirming because the sinking of the sun's light was like a real life video of nature happening in front of us, unburdened by static or data stall. We witnessed nature resting, and I feel, that it was a kin to a beauty falling into a gentle sleep. These two instances have a common factor: momentary bliss arrived to bless an experience because the environment supported discovery of unplanned joy. That is what I associate with the Wicked Wolf, and this time the joy arrived eventually because when my Mom and I arrived to their high tea on Mother's Day the experienced seem like it would land nowhere good. Truth be told, my mom and I arrived 15 minutes early and there was no host in the stand and the place was empty except for a foursome. The energy felt lacked luster. One or two minutes after, the bartender informed us that we were early and the host would come soon. We sat in an available sofa for two, a loveseat persay. This gave us an opportunity to admire the decor that transported us to a storybook forest where good fairies reside, not like swamp creatures and trolls with malevolent fangs and dragon green eyes. I especially loved the large roses in the ceiling. To set the stage, the black ceiling had vines hanging from it, and the few roses were pops of crimson red displayed above. These were wonderful accents to the central mural of the joint that invited the viewer within deeper into the fairy forest where a light shone on an unseen meadow. The place had the decorations and general environment to be a lavender fairy's lounge, but, it did not fully work as a team room. For instance, my mom and I were sat in another lover's couch. Initially, I did not want to sit here because we were given circular tray sets. So imagine being told to sit in a couch, and each of us would get a tv tray. So I was left to wonder if we were going to be served tea in Belle's living room or if were going to watch a flick as we ate pollo loco bowl? But then as I settled into the tranquility of the moment, saw more people come and find their seat or couch, and as the serviced picked-up I realized that this was high tea in a place that had taken disjointed beauty and tackied it together for a patched tea experience that worked well. It was like the experienced was blessed and allowed by the same spirit that brought forth Raggedy Ann. For instance, the pictures show these pretty violet petaled tea cups and matching plates. This pairing was dainty and perfect for a tea party happening under pink veils. But then the sugar cubes came in a hedgehog shaped holder which was just as precious as seeing a piglet in a carriage built for one. Then the cream carrier was in the shape of a milk carton. I wondered where the missing child portrait was? The pastry plate was in the shape of a tropical flower like the ones scattered all over Hawaii. It belonged in a beautiful lei. Each of these elements was cute in its own delicate and whimsical way but together they made an eclectic hodgepodge, not a coherent tea set. And in this asymmetry laid the glitter of their error. The host also brought these clip on dainty hats that were perfect touches for make believe tea party. He carried them around in their original packing, including the box they came in. Not exactly the tailor of the queen, offering hats to the villagers as a gift from her to them, but still the effort magnified the moment. The tea food was the worst stumble that Red took as she was being chased by the Wicked Wolf. To begin with the end analysis, the tea offerings in general were standard, and not bites fit for a princess and her wedding court. For instance, the cream cheese and cucumber sandwich was just that---- a cucumber and cream cheese sandwich. I detected no effort to make it more than that. The blueberry scone was solid, nothing to skip through a meadow about. But once you added the jam of the table to the scone it was much easier to enjoy. I also had a madeline that was fluffy in the center but could have been purchased maybe at Costco. I had a Macaron and same thing, delicious but I have had something similar before and I suspected that it did not come from a place afloat with Parisian affairs. The best part of the tiers was this puff like thing that had like a Concha texture and design at the top. It was a sweet filled bite that was fit for a man made of muffin.

But sadly my mom could not hear us, due to the music being so loud, we did ask twice if they would turn it down a little to no avail. That is too much money to spend, to not be able to hear each other. We had to hurry out because she was getting frustrated.

The vibe was perfect...great energy with plenty of room to dance. The cocktails were excellent, and the bartenders, Jose and Jocelyn, were incredibly attentive and helped make the night even better. Honestly, every staff member we interacted with, from the promoter to the security guard, was fantastic and contributed to such a fun welcoming atmosphere. The decor was such a fun surprise...tons of palm trees and inflatables made it feel like you were in a tropical getaway rather than just a pizza restaurant. They also had a photo booth, which added another fun touch to the night. We took a ton of pictures in it. We really appreciated the gender-neutral bathrooms and the overall safe, inclusive environment that made our whole group feel comfortable drinking, dancing, and celebrating. Parking can be rough, but as a Long Beach native I already knew that, so we chose to Uber.. We'll absolutely be making the trip back from North Orange County to visit again!

The staff are friendly but definitely no-nonsense; which highlights how it's a bar that has food rather than a restaurant-type establishment. Overall I'd say a 7.5/10 - I don't mind going because of the food and drinks but the vibe makes me hesitate. It's never the first or only stop of the night but it is worth going by just to feel it out and eat.

We arrived and there were a few parties leaving, we walked to the bar area and the two servers were occupied with other guests, so we patiently waited. Finally one of them approached us and shared the menu, another gentleman came to the bar and he was quickly greeted with a hello and our same server immediately shared the menu. The gentleman politely said, these ladies were here first please take their order first, which the server did but was not so happy about. To our surprise the server still prepared his drinks first. The gentleman very surprised apologized since he knew we were there before him. With our drinks in hand we found a table with some empty seats. The table side where we sat had a sprite glass bottle and a glass that hadn't been picked up since the last party left. We moved it a side to set our drinks and finally enjoy our conversation. A different server came to the table and asked the gentleman next to us to get his empty glass and she completely ignored our side. She did another round and I finally asked her to pick up the bottle that was left by another party before us. I asked her for the menu again, she brought it but she did say that I had go back up to the bar to order any additional drinks. We decided to not order a second round and head up to the terrace.
