Absolute chaos and drunken insanity oozes in droves from blacked-out Dogz customers onto the streets and quiet neighborhoods. Parked cars get routinely clipped, bottles of beer broken across the sidewalks, empty buzz ball containers and waves of puke cover the nearby streets of Glendora and beyond. Patrons loiter amongst the streets far past curfew into 3am while others sit in their cars blasting shitty music and yelling at each other out the windows. The police generally arrive at some point but it is rare and seems performative. Nothing has changed, it only continues to get worse. There are no checks and balances. And the homeowners and renters never know a good night's rest from Thursday through Sunday. There is an understanding that if you live near 2nd street you are choosing to accept this behavior; the trash, the violence, the noise, the disrespect of the community and neighbors and the complete lack of care for personal property. Kids are drinking and young and it's a part of life. I've been there and I get it. A lot of this has been around for decades and will continue, but to what level? And what amount of tolerance is acceptable versus the "fun potential" of younger patrons unwilling to play by the rules? The neighborhood has reached a breaking point. Came in on 03/06/25 around 7pm. Came to celebrate a good friend's birthday. It was a Thursday night and it was busy but not too busy where you couldn't walk through the place to get to the bathroom like on most nights. I was so hungry and knew I had to eat something before the drinking commenced. I ordered the 12 pc chicken wings: 6 lemon pepper and 6 buffalo. They came with veggie sticks. Why were these so dang good. They weren't the small and thin wings. These were fat and juicy. I love it when bar food exceeds expectations. Our waitress was on top of it with taking the orders and getting everything to us quickly. And she wasn't overwhelmingly rushing or anything. Very professional and friendly. The bar is on the corner of the block, so you can't miss it from any direction you're coming from. Pretty clean for a busy bar. Bathroom was clean too. Happy Hour from 4pm-7pm with $6 wells, $8 calls and $1 off 20oz beers. Right now they have St. Patty's Day specials which sound so good. An Irish Frappuccino and a Jameson and ginger slush. If you're looking for a bar where the staff seem rude and completely uninterested in providing good service, this might be the place for you. We came here for a girls' night on Valentine's Day and were really excited to celebrate. Unfortunately, our experience with one of the bartenders completely ruined the vibe. We ordered the "Shoot the Dog" shot, and from the moment she served us, she was visibly annoyed and giving us attitude. We specifically wanted the pink hats that come with the shots, but she didn't ask or give us any options. She literally tossed the hats on the bar and walked away before we could even say anything. When we asked another bartender if we could switch, he told us once they're handed out they can't be changed. What made it worse is that later in the night, other people in our group received pink hats because their bartender actually asked which color they wanted. It would have taken two seconds to simply ask. The lack of basic courtesy and professionalism was disappointing, especially on a night that was supposed to be fun. To be safe, we ordered wings with classic buffalo sauce with a side of lemon pepper seasoning. The wings were kinda on the average side for bar food, BUT, the combo of lemon pepper seasoning + classic buffalo wings + Blue cheese dip is super memorable and flavorful. The ambience of this place is a vibe always. Music is good and the food is tasty as well. They have different options for things to eat and weekly daily deals which makes it a treat to look forward to the different options, they have throughout the week. The service is why I didn't give them the full five stars. I've been here multiple times and when I have the server, Mary she is rude. She isn't attentive to her tables at all. She disappears for long periods of time and doesn't bother to come back and update her tables or at least apologize for the wait. I work in the service industry as well and have for many years and it goes a long way to just let your tables know that you are serving other tables and may be busy or just being transparent with your tables. aside from that she just has an attitude that makes it seem like she doesn't want to be bothered. I noticed that her attitude shifted the minute it was time for us to close out the bill to me. Just gives a bad picture. On top of all of that, it was my best friend's birthday too. The thing i would recommend is get it clear about sides and sauces. Make sure they hear ypu when you want sides and make sure you clarify sauce amount or on the side...taste was a B+ though. This is a cool place on second street. It has an outdoor patio and people come here to drink. Service is quick and the food is decent. This time we only went in to get some pickled eggs but next time we will for sure try their burgers. They have a special every day of the week. And on Thursday's they have $6 burgers. My expectations were in hell walking in--and still, I was somehow surprised by how poorly my girlfriends and I were treated. After a great dinner in Newport, we stopped by on a whim, ready to be a little goofy and do the bar's infamous "Shoot the Dog" shot (a $20 mix of vodka, mustard, michelada, and an olive / hot dog--yes, it's as gross as it sounds). The whole point? You get a hat. It's their thing. We were handed leftover hats--dull black-on-black--and when someone walked in moments later with a full stack of new ones, I politely asked to swap. The bartender snapped "no" like I'd asked for a kidney. Apparently, it was "on my head." It was literally clipped to my purse. The tables were very tightly packed together, and we were seated at a high top, which was very difficult with my dog on a leash. I'm giving this 3.5 stars... We went to eat at our favorite restaurant on 2nd St. today but it was closed due to plumbing issues. We needed somewhere else to go and we've talked about this place recently so we gave it a go. For starters, the beer was ICE cold and delicious. *chefs kiss* The only way to drink beer! The restaurant/bar set up was kinda cool. Several TVs with sports on. They have all sorts of items on their menu; from hot dogs to breakfast to Mexican to burgers & sandwiches. There is also a different daily deal Monday through Friday! My husband got the $5 burger special that is on Thursdays and I went for a breakfast burrito. He said the burger was fine, just like a grilled burger. Nothing super special. It came with a side of chips. My burrito was alright. Not terrible but not amazing.
