I have never been here before but once I saw the storefront it actually brought back a lot of memories. It was a former boutique gift store many years ago. I remember interning here during high school. And now it's a bar. We wanted to stop by for happy hour just for a beer. There's a lot of places downtown but this seemed quite chill. There's a couple of outdoor seating. Inside its a long bar area which the bar is on the left. A good amount of television whenever there's sports on. They serve food as well which we didn't try but did see how good the chicken wings looked. Service was good. The bartender that took care of us was very friendly and chatty. He was finishing his shift and another guy took over. He brought him over to introduce him to us. Good service is a plus. Happy hour items on drinks were a few dollars off I believe. First time here and it was quite nice. It wasn't busy but a few guys inside the bar area having a drink.

Horrible service or not at all Actually. We walked in. They saw us. 3 employees never said hello. Didn't get menus nor offered drinks or anything so we walked out...went next door to Baby Bros. Best service and pizza I've had.

We've visited Shannon's a few times for boxing matches and football games in the past. So while in the area, my friend suggested we stop by to grab some grub and watch the Clipper game. Upon entering, the place was pretty empty, with only a few people dressed up in costumes, singing, and eating (they actually greeted us before the waitress lol). Anyway we grabbed our own table by the TVs to check out the game. Despite the lack of really any humans, we stayed because my friend was only there for one thing, while I on the other hand wanted some sort of action or vibes in the place but whatever. The bartender was friendly and welcoming, which was a surprise given some negative reviews about rude staff. She served me a guava Moscow Mule and I ordered the fish & chips, both of which were really good. If we return, it would be solely for the fish & chips. Otherwise, I wouldn't recommend Shannon's and would suggest visiting a more lively spot instead. OOO 3 out of 5 Afros

Came in with friends to bar hop. The bartender lady was kind, handling it all on her own. They have a good selection to choose from. It's definitely a sports bar. It's chill especially to come watch some games. We also got food, I got the chicken tacos and they got the steak tacos with avocado. It was good, their salsa is bomb.

Located on Pine Ave. & W Broadway. There's street parking, but it can be challenging to find a spot during peak hours. We parked about 1 block away in the 'Landmark Square Parking Lot' using the Pine Ave/1st St. entrance and paid $15.50 for 4.5 hrs. We were walking down Pine Ave after dinner on a Saturday evening, looking for a place to enjoy some drinks. It was a UFC PPV event night, and we were hoping for a place that was showing it. As we walked by Shannon's, my friend noticed they were showing the fight, so we walked right in. No cover charge. Of course, the place was packed, so there were no empty tables. We didn't try their food but their drinks were very satisfying. We had a great time watching the MMA event and enjoyed a few cocktails. They have plenty of TVs throughout the pub featuring live sports. Bar tenders were awesome regardless of how busy it was.

Credit card posted amount showed the business altered my blank tip!!! It's a scam and forgery!!!

Scam and Shameless business! They altered my receipt and added up tip I didn't authorize. I ordered one Coke, and they didn't even bring it to my table. The service was so poor, yet I was already willing to give around 15%, and you still forged the receipt to take more? This is outright forgery and fraud. If they'll cheat for a dollar, imagine what else they'll do. Dishonest practice. Check your receipts if you ever come here!!!

So far so good. Me first time here after bouncing up from the Auld Dibliner just two blocks south of here. Do I like it? Yes. It's a open sir upstairs, downstairs and street level bar.Ample flat screen TV to watch the games....bumpin ' music. Lots of room . Drinks prices okay.

Fun Irish sports bar in DTLB. The music included lots of throwbacks and made for some fun dancing with an upstairs floor. The place eventually got crowded, but still able to get drinks at the bar easily. There's also a shuffleboard to play. Drinks were decently priced at around $10 and all good vibes here. Someone constantly came around clearing the empty glasses as well.

Ask the Community - Shannon's On Pine

Will you guys be playing the boxing match's tonight?

Unfortunately we weren’t able to get the stream. We are working on our AV system to get all fights and other sporting events that directv doesn’t provide.

Are vaccination cards required?

No and I do believe that most places are not asking for those.

Are 18 year-old allow to access?

They are able to be in the restaurant side of the place up until 8:30 if and only if you are ordering food.

Will they be showing the fight tonight ? Do they show boxing matches?

Yes normally we have every match that's shown on PPV as long as it's not on ESPN 2 or Peacock we will show it. Check out our website for future events. They will be on there even if we are not showing it. It will be posted.

What's it like on Sunday nights?

Very chill

Does this place have a good DJ Friday nights?

They have many different DJs. Most play a good mix of night club dance music. Some play a lot of hard rap music. I don't know if they post a list of who is playing on which night.

And since we first walked through the doors, we were in love. In love with the atmosphere, the perfectly pulled pints, the food (Dear God the Corned Beef Sandwich is a religious experience! ) and the characters of the staff. We've spent many occasions and life's moments here as well, From birthday dinners to at one time making it out Sunday Supper place to catch a traditional set and our dinner. The Sunday musicians are so good back in 2012 we hired a few to play at our engagement party, and brought a bit of the Auld Dub into our home. Today was no different, popped In for a family birthday celebration and stayed for a Sunday set. The music was fabulous the food amazing and the staff excellent! Ordered the usual: Curry Chips (cooked extra Well Done), and the best corned beef sandwich this side of the Atlantic! It's served perfectly on a crunchy swirled rye bread with an amazing apple jam of apples and caramelized onions. Just excellent! We also ordered an Irish Full Breakfast, which my soul craves every now and then! Basically you can't go wrong eating here.

Mid week when we arrived which wasn't too crazy. There was no one on the patio which was nice as it gave us first choice for a seat...lol... Everyone was seating inside. The place itself isn't that big. You have the bar area with some bar seating. Then there's a couple of tables inside and of course the patio which is along the sidewalk. Personally I prefer sitting outside for the people watching. The staff were all amazing and very friendly. Places like that make the experiences more enjoyable. You want someone who is friendly and respectful. As we were there early, we grabbed one of the beer which they have quite a good selection on tap. There's also wine if you're not into beer. When it came time to grab some food, we were able to get a table inside. Majority of the breweries tends to serve pretty much the same things, pizza sandwiches and salads. No complaints here. Simple food goes a long way. There were a couple of us so we grabbed a few things to share. Started off with the pretzel balls with cheese dip and honey mustard and the chips with queso cheese dip. Pretzel was tasty and outdid the queso dip. Pizzas of course which were pretty big in sizes. A couple of the pizzas and a salad did four of us with leftovers. Their Hawaiian pizza was quite tasty and was finished. We also ordered one of the mushroom pizzas with an egg. It was tasty but a little on the salty side. The arugula salad was delicious. Simple but tasty. And then there was ham pizza I believe with onions and peppercini. That was also a favorite of the night. Overall, the place was quite fun. Not a big brewery and more intimate. The crowd was great and as most places are very kid and family friendly. There was couple of kids when we arrived. Service was great. Food and drinks were enjoyed and the service and staff were excellent. Street parking available along the front but also along the neighborhood.

1 Star - Worst Experience I've Ever Had at a Bar…read more I've been to The Blind Donkey in downtown Long Beach before but what happened last night deserves to be shared. I came here with a friend last night and ordered a blonde beer that tasted completely off -- it genuinely tasted like blue cheese. My friend encouraged me to ask for a replacement since something was clearly wrong with it. When she brought it to the bar, the bartender told her he'd replace it and that it was on the house, but then made her pay for the second drink anyway. If I had known she'd still be charged, I would've just not asked for another drink. When I came up to the bar to clarify why she paid for something he said was comped, the bartender backtracked and said he "didn't mean" that. I asked if they could void the second charge, since this was supposed to be a simple replacement. He kept explaining that he is charging us for this second one because it was not a blonde, it was a white ale. I told him that's fine, but why did he say it was "on the house" and now charging us anyway? He ended up bringing over the manager. The manager was a short, Latino man with a hat on. He was incredibly rude from the moment he arrived explaining the beer was a blonde- which I know what I ordered, but tasted whack. He didn't look at us, didn't listen to anything we were saying, and without asking a single question he grabbed both drinks we paid for and dumped them down the drain. We were stunned -- we paid for both of them and now had nothing. When he came back, I calmly told him we paid for both drinks he just threw out. His response? "Don't expect to come here and get free drinks." Which is wild considering we never asked for anything free -- we were just trying to get the mistaken charge fixed. When I told him he needed to void the drink he dumped, he called security on us. We weren't loud, drunk, or confrontational. Security refused to give us the manager's name, and only one finally whispered "Ken," though at that point it felt like they were just saying anything to get us out the door. I've worked in customer-facing roles before. I understand dive bars aren't known for luxury service, but this wasn't about service -- it was about basic respect, integrity, and not charging customers for drinks you throw away yourself. I'm leaving this review as a Long Beach local, it's saddening to see how a popular bar like The Blind Donkey treats their customers. This was the worst experience I've ever had.
