Good customer service. Hubby enjoyed his beer -and that's what counts! Pizza was tasty. Wish I could explore more of their menu, but I was press for time.

This is a great casual place to grab pizza and a beer. Not too much seating available, so might be tough for larger groups at peak hours. Super chill vibe!

When here for Valentines 02.14.25. Found an open table and sat down. Greeted and Ordered from the menu. Ordered a cider drink and Pizza Pie. All came within 15 minutes The cider beer was delicious and the pizza pie was amazing. First time here. I was impressed by the taste of the pizza. Fresh and thin crust reminded me of an official New York Pizza. Friendly ambiance and plenty of street parking nearby. This place is a cool place to socialize and drinks. I will definitely come back. Fun bar to have. Kudos the service! Always checking up on us to see if we were ok. Good job!

I love this place. Hadn't been in a couple of years and I have to come more often. Went on a Saturday afternoon and there was a nice amount of seating. Service is wonderful with great staff. Pizza is amazing. Love all the food options. Beer is soooo good and such a good variety. It's family friendly as well. Just wish they had another restroom. Can't wait to go back.

    The notes are so funny.

Y'all have no excuse to not come here if you're in Long Beach. My boyfriend suggested coming to Long Beach after I spent the day typing an essay. I'm so happy we came here because it was a wonderful experience. We were greeted when we walked in and Justing was our bartender. He suggested drinks and food, which is helpful when you have not been to a restaurant before. He is so attentive, helpful, knowledgeable, and kind. He is the perfect addition to Dutch's Brewhouse. We ordered the White Knight pizza and it was so delicious! My boyfriend and I shared the pizza, it is thin crust which is actually beneficial because drinking beer and eating pizza can feel heavy on the pansa. Overall, the service here is outstanding and a factor in why y'all should come here. Stop wondering if you should come and just do it.

I researched a brewery for Rdawgs 50th birthday. This place did not disappoint. The service was excellent. They were very accommodating and I appreciated it. Our entire party enjoyed their pizza's. I enjoyed a dirty bird pizza with no cheese, I know I know Boring, but nope it was so yummy! I also tried a pickle stuffed with takis. We will return. I'll have Rdawg leave his own review of the beers but if you want a tasty root beer come here!

Bixby Knoll is such a cool part of LBC and on Atlantic Ave there are so many amazing places! Last night we went to Dutch's BrewHouse for a chill night - pizza and beer! And it was a great choice. Super casual place and a lot of local people there for beers, we sat down and ordered Dark Lager and Brown Ale along with Mama's Boy and Huntsman. Beers were good- nice cold and both pizza's were amazing. They make their own sausages which they use on pizza. Doug and thin slice of pizza were super delicious and light. Decent portion- a pizza will be enough for two people. Service was great and the owner of the place was super nice and friendly. Highly recommend this place.

One of my personal favorites. Cold beer on tap and good vibes. Everyone here is friendly and welcoming. It never takes long to get a second beer. Well, they have a limited food menu. The perfect pep is still my favorite go to pizza here. Pizzas are not huge but you could probably share it between 2 people. They also have a frito pie that is sooooo good! Overall great local spot in Bixby Knolls.

    Grindtime

Stopped in for two pizzas to go. Grind time and dirty bird. Both equally yummy. Hung out at the bar while we waited. Great atmosphere. The owner is very nice and welcoming. We will be back.

It's located in Bixby Knolls, surrounded by coffee shops, restaurants, bars and breweries, yet it's the only true wine bar right there. Honestly, Long Beach has more wine bars than most surrounding areas, and since the South Bay is packed with breweries, if you're tired of beer this is your sign to switch it up. You will not regret it. The food menu has cheese boards, salads and sandwiches, and everything I've had here has been delicious. The cheese boards are better than sex. There is seating indoors and outdoors. It's minimal, but somehow we always manage to find a table. The service is consistently great and the owner is wonderful. She will be leaving soon and she will absolutely be missed, but what she has built here will definitely be cherished. The new owners fell in love with the place, so you can expect it to be well taken care of and to remain just as charming. Parking is street only, so read the signs carefully so you don't end up with a ticket. If you go on a Sunday there are no restrictions or time limits, which makes it even better.

I already know I need to come back for food and wine. Obviously. The vibe was cozy, the staff was super friendly, and it just felt like the kind of place where you bring a book, romanticize your life, and accidentally stay way longer than planned. Coffee, wine, books, cute little atmosphere? Honestly, they knew exactly what they were doing. Five stars. I will be returning, probably with a book and my friend

First it's 7:30pm, planned on ordering a matcha and the person at the register informed me that there was "No coffee or tea after 4pm" so I choose to order a non alcoholic beverage and maybe something to eat and cashier or owner, whoever this person was tells me if I plan to work because it becomes a "laptop free zone" after 4pm. Odd behavior to tell someone what they can and can't do at an establishment considering it's called a coffee AND wine bar. Maybe this is something to advertise on your yelp and website but a "laptop free zone" after 4pm is pretty ridiculous for potential customers who were just looking to eat and work. I almost feel like he just told me that because I was going to order a salad and a non alcoholic beverage and wasn't planning on ordering much. As the other 1 star reviews mention "pretentious behavior" so it's either the cashier or whoever it was is being pretentious as others mentioned or RACIST... Kinda odd to dictate what I do on my own accord while I'm a patron at your establishment. If I ordered food and a drink but chose to open my laptop, are you going to ask me to leave? Doesn't really seem customer centric. Considering that I've worked on my laptop at dine-in restaurants, it's pretty odd behavior to display. Also, considering that this is not a club, and there's no live music, and there were only 3 people sitting in there, I think I would have been fine to sit there quietly in a corner with my laptop. 1 star for the experience and weird behavior. Like I said it's either pretentiousness or racism but weird behavior nonetheless.

Nonna has become our go to bakery, our sweet retreat, and one of our favorite local brunch spots. Now, they even have happy hour and, during the summer, dinner (Nonna Summer Nights)! And all of the food is amazing. Seriously, truly legit! We buy bread from there each week. No more "big box store" bread you freeze. They make their bread fresh daily. They only use fresh, locally sourced ingredients with no preservatives. It's nice to look at an ingredient list and not see a paragraph for bread (and be able to pronounce all the names!). And their cupcakes and sweets. Yo, seriously so good. And the thing is, because of the ingredients they use, we don't feel heavy or overly wired after eating cake or cupcakes from them. From other places you can tell they use preservatives, refined sugars, processed ingredients. But with Nonna, you can just taste the difference. We even had them make our special cake for our wedding! We recently tried their dinner (twice!) and it exceeded expectations. Now, mind you, all of their food has always been good but our experience was amazing. Their prix fixe menu was well put together, wine pairings on point, dessert was also delicious. Our favorite was the tiramisu! Also loved the spaghattini and casarecce pastas, and entrecôte di manzo, but everything was great. Their brunch is also great, you really can't go wrong on the menu. And I think we've gone through almost all of it! Finally, (if you've stayed with me this long!) the absolute best thing about Nonna for us is the TEAM. Hands down no question. The food is good, space is a comfortable neighborhood vibe, and all that. But truly the folks here are amazing humans. Always friendly, warm, and welcoming. If the management team is reading this, you all have a great group of people there! We will definitely be back (again and again and again) and you should too!

Located in the quaint Bixby Knolls neighborhood of Long Beach, street parking was plentiful right outside the restaurant. We came around noon on Saturday, and thankfully despite their busy brunch rush we were seated immediately. Even though all of their seating is outdoors, tables are shaded by overhanging canopy and just added to the cute southern Italian bistro vibes of the place. The menu had a solid selection of both brunch and lunch items - I loved the Burrata di Campagna, which was flavorful with just the right amount of tart from the heirloom tomatoes. For my main meal I had to go with the Casarecce - one of their pastas that's made fresh in house daily. The braided pasta was wonderfully textured and soaked up all the pesto sauce without being overly oily, a perfect meal for a hot summer day. We finished our meal with a Nutella Croissant, from their artisan bakery that also makes their bread fresh every day. Perhaps I am a little biased, but the laminated dough was perfectly light and flaky, encasing a very generous filling of hazelnut chocolate cream. Our check at the end of the meal even came with a custom drawn postcard by one of the Nonna Mercato service staff - another present to add on to what was already a gift of a meal!

I ordered takeout today and to say I was disappointed would be an understatement. I came in around 3:15 and ordered two sandwiches to go - the hot roast beef and the BLTA. When I got in my car, I decided to take a bite of my BLT (with avocado) before heading home. It was not good, at all! Instead of a few (or more, because it WAS $16!) slices of delicious bacon, it was a thick sandwich filled with what appeared to be bacon pieces, like the preparer had just scraped together old bacon from earlier in the day. It tasted greasy and burnt. After several sips of water my tongue was still greasy! The avocado was almost nonexistent. I immediately went back in and asked for a refund. I brought my husband his roast beef ($18!). He is not a picky eater, AT ALL! He said it wasn't very good and he should bring them an Arby's to show what a roast beef sandwich should look like. He was really disappointed. Sorry, if you love this place, please ignore my review but I highly recommend that you do NOT order these sandwiches unless the owner makes an announcement that they've taken steps to improve. It was a nice addition to the mini food court in Long Beach, but unfortunately, times got tough for them to the point where they had to pull the plug on their operations. I Luv Ur Buns was one of seven vendors at Steelcraft Long Beach on the southeast corner of Long Beach and Bixby. They had taken over the spot that used to be Waffle Love, and it was such a quick turnaround that on my first visit to Steelcraft Long Beach since the Waffle Love closure, I almost thought they seamlessly rebranded from waffles to bao buns lol. Signage was posted around the shipping container assigned to I Luv Ur Buns and even a signicade closer to Steelhead Coffee; the signs informed customers that they were closing and that the Sunday preceding Martin Luther King Jr Day would be their last day of business, which also happened to be the same day the LA Rams were playing in the NFC Divisional Round of the playoffs, so I almost thought Steelcraft would be jam-packed. Actually, no it wasn't even that busy, and there were several parking spots available just around Steelcraft. I definitely wanted to try a bao bun, but not a full dinner, so that left me with the two Global Flavors sections of the menu. One section was titled "Global Flavors on Bao Buns" where you basically get two bao buns. Don't think these bao buns are large by any means; I tried a couple at Sosogu sometime last year, and they're not that big either. They would have been the perfect size for a snack, but I was also curious about the other Global Flavors section, titled "Global Flavors with Rice or Fries". That section only has two line items: Mini Bowls and Loaded Fries. I didn't want fries, but when I asked about a Mini Bowl, I was informed that it was a deconstructed version of a bao bun with a small mound of rice. Wanting a little more variety, I went with the Bao Mi Mini Bowl. The menu did get a little confusing for me because I had noticed the (V), which usually stands for either vegan or vegetarian. However, they had several non-vegetarian items with (V), and that had me confused at first; like how is a bao bun with grilled pork belly vegetarian?? That's when the cashier, sporting a black nose ring, let me know that it can be ordered with a plant-based option, namely tofu. However, the cashier also mentioned the use of a shared fryer between their plant-based options and their regular options, so if you were strictly vegan, I'd think twice first. I asked how long the wait would be, and they estimated 10 minutes, which was pretty much spot on. I was given a pager that buzzed when my order was ready, and since there was plenty of space for me to eat, I was given a red tray with an "I Luv Ur Buns" sticker in the middle. The mini bowl was presented on a small tray, like one you'd use when you're giving out samples at a special event. I was also given a fork, which was another reason why I ordered a Mini Bowl over two bao buns as I wanted to keep my hands clean. Besides the grilled pork belly, the Bao Mi also comes with hoisin sauce, cucumber, jalapeno, onion, and cilantro. All of what I just mentioned tasted pretty good, though not necessarily as good as what I had at Sosogu last year. Then again, the Bao Mi is Vietnamese-style whereas Sosogu is Japanese, but between the two, which are the two cheapest options at $10, the Bao Mi was the most popular alongside their Korean-style, called Seoul on Fire. I'm pretty sure I would have liked Seoul on Fire better as it comes with Bulgogi beef, but the grilled pork belly was pretty good too. Just not as fatty as I would have liked. However, I didn't like their use of a wrapping paper between the tray and the food. That's because several grains of rice got stuck on the wrapping paper, and it was hard to pluck them off with my fork. As a result, it got kind of messy eating the mini bowl, and I almost thought I'd drop a piece of pork belly in the process! Luckily, I didn't, but I don't think that would be a problem with the bao buns since the bao bun from my mini bowl didn't stick to the wrapping paper at all. One thing I observed that I thought was kind of cool was witnessing the cashier hand deliver a tray of bao buns to an employee from Elio's Wood Fire Pizza, directly across from I Luv Ur Buns. I wouldn't say I love I Luv Ur Buns, but it made for a nice quick snack albeit a little pricey for a small bowl. I'm glad I gave them a try before they closed for good, and I made sure to bid them a proper adieu by returning the tray to them. They also had a small tray of I Luv Ur Buns stickers by their order window, so I made sure to pick up a couple as souvenirs. Thank you I Luv Ur Buns for serving the LBC for the past couple years, and sorry to see you go! Best wishes to Sonya, Mandy, and the rest of the team on their future endeavors.

Global Flavors on Bao Buns for all the yum and then some not to mention those vegetable spring rolls, fries and load fries as well as bowls. Service on the last weekend was a perfect 10/10.
