Perhaps my Yelp friend Lorna K's review was only but a precursor for what to expect when my team at work tried to visit for an early dinner outing. It has been an incredibly, and not to mention incredulously, busy start to the year for my team at work, and after all this hard work, which even included an extra project for yours truly, we really needed some time away from work to just ease some of the tension that had been beleaguering us during normal work hours. One of my co-workers recommended District 4 Pizza, where one of my *other* Yelp friends scored the coveted honor of FTR (First To Review), and I had bookmarked it after seeing her give full marks to this new-ish pizza spot in the Los Altos neighborhood of Long Beach. You can find them on the southwest corner of Bellflower and Stearns. One thing we had noted well before we made the drive is that District 4 Pizza is not open for lunch hours on weekdays; instead, they open at 4 PM, which makes me wonder if that's the reason for the '4' in the business name or nothing more than mere happenstance? Or in our case, they didn't open at all because they had a belated holiday party, though the note that was posted on the front door did not even specify what holiday. St. Patrick's Day perhaps? But at this point, it's a moot point. I hopped on their website and didn't see even one mention that they would have been closed that day, so in essence, I wasted a couple hours of work only to find out they wouldn't be open on a day they would normally be open. Would have been nice to try their pizza, but alas, I left disappointed, especially since I had to cook dinner that night when I wasn't planning to. I'm sure that would grind Peter Griffin's gears too. We may return at a later time. We may not. It's also possible I may not be able to join due to my schedule, which can be oscillatory at times. If I do return, I'll be sure to update this review, but it'd be a maximum of 3 stars since 1 and 5 don't average to a 5 or even a 4. With Lorna's review etched in the back of my mind in the days leading up to this visit, I had myself mentally prepared for a potentially abjectly haughty hostess. At least she got to see a hostess; we couldn't even see one. Didn't think the phrase "case of the Mondays" would encompass a situation like this!
Today was a great day at this place. The air conditioning was working, the service was fantastic, the food was excellent! I would come here again! Great menu items with a wide selection of appetizers and main dishes and salads.
We came to District 4 Pizza around noon on a Saturday to host a pizza party for my son's soccer team. Our group was about 25 people, and for group events, this place really works. The space is large, clean, and very family-friendly. There are TVs on every wall, making it a great spot to watch games, plus a small arcade area that kept the kids entertained. From a layout and environment standpoint, it's a solid choice for team parties and group gatherings. Service was mostly neutral, but handled well when it mattered. I ordered a Caesar salad that had very hard, grainy breadcrumbs and wasn't edible for me. When I sent it back, it was removed from the check without issue, and my server also comped my Coke, which I appreciated. Unfortunately, the food itself is where this fell short for me. I tried the cheese pizza, and between that and the salad, the overall quality just didn't taste particularly fresh or memorable. I would consider coming back for another team event because the space and setup are convenient and kid-friendly. I just wouldn't come here expecting standout pizza or salads. Best for: sports teams, families, group events, game watching Skip if: you're coming specifically for high-quality pizza
District 4 is a cool pizza spot to grab a drink and watch a game with friends and family. Are your kids joining in on the action? Well if the answer is yes, they can entertain themselves as well as there is a small arcade in the restaurant. So far our family enjoys the funghi pizza and the elote pizza. I like that they have a happy hour menu too. Service is great. Bathroom is clean. Restaurant is spacious. It can get a bit loud but I think that's to be expected.
Friendly staff who made many great recommendations. And so many unique items on the menu. Highly recommend!
The decline in quality from when they were newly opened to now is stagerringly disappointing. This was my fave pizza place in Long Beach but not anymore. Attached are pictures of the supreme pizza i ordered when they newly opened and what i got today. From vibrant flavors and fresh tasting ingredients to being stale and lacking flavor.
Decided to grab a pizza after work in Long Beach, luckily District 4 Pizza is across the street from my work. I ordered the sausage king of Chicago pizza large size. Price is reasonable for an 18" pizza pie. I ordered this pizza to go, I am hungry but I can't engulf a large pizza in their dining room. They offered me a Pepsi cola while I waited which was nice. Family friendly place! Big slices big taste, that's what you get when you order an 18" pizza with Italian sausage loaded with cheese. Good old fashioned pizza, I like it! I give it a 4.5! Check it out!
The space was very large and could easily accommodate over 100 people. There are flat screen TV's on every wall with sports playing in mute with subtitles. There is also an arcade with a few games to occupy the little leaguers who are pretty ubiquitous around the restaurant. The food was actually way better than I expected. I thought it was going to be a glorified Shakey's or Straw Hut like I remembered growing up, but my Chicken Parmesan sandwich was great and the fries were plentiful and crispy! The bread had a special crust to it that made it special and the cheese was melted and gooey with a great marinara sauce on top. I thoroughly enjoyed it. My friends got the Barwinkles Pizza and said it was good but the crust could have been cooked a little longer and the chicken needed a bit more flavor, overall it got the job done though. The prices are on the high side but the portions match that price. You do get a tons of food so it ends up being worth it. I tools half my food home for lunch the next day and I'm a big guy who can eat a lot. Great for groups! I would come back for a Dodger game or something like that.
District 4 has been on my list for at least 6 months. They have outdoor dog-friendly seating and an abundance of indoor seating (including a banquet room) for kids/teens sports teams. There's an arcade and multiple TVs to watch your favorite team. It reminds me of an elevated Chuck E. Cheese that has community roots. We had the 14" Sausage King of Chicago, House Green Salad, and Pistachio Pesto Chicken Rigatoni. All was fresh, tasty, and satisfying. Jennifer was our friendly waitress and did a great job!
Wow!!! I got back there tonight. The special pizzas are back to high quality. Lots of cheeses and thick pizza crust, and more flavors just like I reminded of the opening time premium pizzas. I tried the rigatoni w chicken, alfredo sauce and mushrooms for the first time. It was great, creamy, lots of chicken, mushrooms. 5 stars for the rigatoni. Other salads are so fresh made and I can choose the different dressings. Friday night was packed by b day party, sport game team gathering, company dinner, and all kinds of special days. Thanks for the high quality of foods. I will definitely go back soon. Haha... Loved the salad, pasta, especially mushroom pizza.
My wife and I got back to the district 4 pizza. It was completely packed on Friday night. Birthday party, company dinner, and Friday dinner after work....I enjoyed the vibe w sports games, lots of TV screens are everywhere. Last time we didn't have great experience w pizzas because the chef was not the same. Tonight we tried rigatoni w chickens, mushrooms, Alfredo sauce was excellent. Even the specialty pizzas were flavorful w lots of cheeses, toppings, thick pizza crust. I think the taste is just like the opening time. We had fresh green salads w French fries. Loved all. Really fresh!!! I am glad to come back here for the great pizzas and pastas. Hopefully the chef can maintain the qualities of specialty pizzas. Bravo!!!!

Very open and awesome sports screens! Team member, Christina walked us through the menu, accommodated our changes and served us fast and accurate. Lots of seating options- bar/high top/booth...seating for everyone. We got: Appetizer- baby buratta that melts in your mouth Pizza- the haute-ashberry combines the perfect blend of ingredients that ignites your palette in a subtle way. Adding Italian sausage isn't a bad idea :)
We've visited several times for team parties and happy hour with the family, but I'm inspired to write this review based on us booking their separate room for our large event. I put in a reservation for the separate room in June for our event dated September 18th, and they took such good care of our party (about 45 people)! We were probably over capacity for the space, but the staff did an awesome job maneuvering around, refilling pictures, placing new pizzas, and just generally meeting all of our needs. Everyone on staff was so upbeat and accommodating, but we must have been the most stressful party in the place so they're angels on earth. I was especially pleased that their largest TV on the room has an HDMI cable all ready to go so we could share our slideshow content. Not every restaurant has plug and play options like that and it made presenting to our large group much easier. Thank you, District 4! We will be back. read more

One of our favorites Hapy Hours in LB! Large Pepperoni Pizza for $20, this large is more like an XXL (18")! We forget how big it is until it comes to the table! We love their Caesar Salad (non-happy hour), definitely the BEST around! Appetizers are 25% off. We tried their large pretzel (and it's very large) served with beer cheese sauce and marinara but honestly it's just the right amount of salt and great on its own, no dips needed! Of course we went home with more than we ate! So many great offerings it's hard to not to over order and ww lo e leftover pizza! Parking is always easy! If you goi during Happy Hour, it's quiet with a lot of TV Screens to watch games (today we saw both Dodgers and Angel's playing). Arcades in the back foe the kids. Our server was Mary. She's a regular and we have had her many times. Very friendly and attentive! read more

Went here for happy hour with some friends from work. It started out quiet, but got really busy by 7pm. The food was good. I got the appetizer meatball and a slice of pizza. The meatballs were huge, and would probably be more interesting in a sandwich or with pasta. I really liked the pizza. It had a thin, crispy crust and the tomato sauce was quite good. I'd come back and try some of their other pizzas. The "FunGuy" mushroom pizza sounded delicious. read more

Somewhat confused by the negative comments about the bad service and bad pizza. Been here a couple times and i have absolutely no complaints. The Elote pizza today was made top tier, even though the quality was better than before. I wish our caught our servers name (brunette, tad older than the other servers would describe her best) but she was wonderful and was running around and had a smile on her face while doing it. read more
The ambiance here is really nice. Great setting for a date night or for a family get together. Have some arcade machines in the back. Ordered over the phone and pick up was easy. The dough has a nice crust. The cilantro sauce is tasty and more would be welcomed. Not so cheesy, not sure if light on mozzarella or none b/c it features Parmesan. Mozzarella also would be welcomed for the cheese pull effect. read more

Pizza is usually good here but make it a point to check your Pizza underneath and if its burnt, l have them take it back and remake it. read more
I called in a to go order and they said 15 to 20 minutes. When I arrived about 17 minutes later, my delicious pizza was hot and ready to take home. The amount of toppings were perfect, and the crust is perfect as well. The young lady at the counter was pleasant and efficient. Since I did take out, I didn't get to really look around. It looks like a fun place for kids and there were many of them there. I believe they have machines and games in the back. read more

Incredible Pie!! Had their Lunch Special! Had the 14" pizza & Drink special. Totally worth the upgrade to their specialty pies. I got 1/2 Supreme & 1/2 "Book'em Danno!" on the recommendation of of the amazing hostess/team member that took our order. Crust was perfect. Perfect amount of cheese and toppings were top notch. Clean tables. Comfortable seats. TVs everywhere. Can't wait to go back! read more

Dude this pizza was delicious. Came in here on a Friday night, which coincidentally was also like the same night every single little leaguer in the area apparently was celebrating, so this place was utter chaos and SO LOUD. They had an arcade but I wasn't brave enough to check it out. I don't know if that's their regular vibe because the aesthetic definitely didn't match it. I don't think that's their always vibe because the servers seemed super stressed out and surprisingly apologetic. Definitely not their fault overtired parents can't reel their overstimulated, shrieking kids in (said in solidarity as a fellow overtired parent). At least this spot is verifiably kid-friendly. Anyway. Their food was AMAZING and the service was fantastic. I loved that you can get the pizzas 50/50 because my eyes are bigger than my stomach. We tried: Pepperoni Pie: Classic, with the little pepperoni cups that act like little meaty grease chalices. I know that probably makes it sound gross but it is so delicious. The simple pie brought out how amazing their crust recipe is. Highly recommend. Calabrian Pizza: Super salty and spicy flavor bomb, with a drizzle of sweet hot honey. Very complex and rich, I couldn't eat more than a couple bites of this out of fear of getting full lol. White Shadow: Super creamy garlicky white pie, featuring special guest briny artichoke. Also super rich as they were very generous with the ricotta. Fung-Guy: This was my absolute fave. The combinations of mushrooms and cheeses made for a super earthy, umami masterpiece of a pizza. Rating: Classy AF. Antipasto Salad: Fresh veggies and ample salty meats, cheese, tomatoes, and olives. The texture and flavor was spot on. Kid's Chicken Nugget Meal: Can easily feed four small children or two large ones. It was enormous! read more

We been to HoffsHut & Lebua massage tons of time and never thought to stop here. It looks small from the outside but big on the inside. Plenty of Teeples for family and large party gatherings. There's also a small arcade for the kids & kids at heart. Service was great. We were greeted and seated right away. Liam was at our table offering drinks. Meatball appetizer: tender, fall apart, juicy Whipped ricotta cheese. If you like ricotta cheese, you'll love it. Great with the meatballs and the bread. Calamari : a must. Came with two types of sauces, marinara & tartar sauce. You can tell it's the whole calamari because you get the arms. Great fry, all very tender. At Liam's suggestion we got the Heart Meat pizza. Perfectly chewy thin crust that held up to the load of bacon, pepperoni, and sausage. Next time we're gonna order a bunch of apps and Pizza by the slice. read more
First visit to this restaurant which has been open just a few months. I was expecting a small pizza place but whoa I was surprised! First off there are several as in 4-6 large TV screens around the large dining area which includes several high tops. One big jumbo screen in the center. Sports fans do NOT miss this place! There is also a game arcade room off to the east side where I think the noise will be contained. But now to the food. Extensive menu beyond pizza. I only tried an appetizer this time but again was whoa pleasantly surprised. My meatball appetizer came with two good size meatballs, a heap of fresh arugula and a good portion of ricotta cheese PLUS 3 slices of good bread. As a kid I ate many a good Italian meatball in Massachusetts so I was as one happy camper with this plate. The meatballs were good and juicy and the ricotta and arugula added a nice mix. I could have used a tad more sauce although I seemed to make enough of a mess with the sauce I had. They serve alcohol and parking is in the back. Great service by Ashley. read more
Never judge a book by its cover! First off, this place is huge. When you drive past it you really don't think much of it. It looks small from the outside and nothing really stands out. There is parking in the back along with other restaurants and stores (hofs hut) As soon as I walked in you can see the kitchen and all the workers on the left of you. The really nice hostess sat us down immediately. The tables and everything in there are clean, I also like that they have a paper towel holder on the table. I always hate asking for napkins and then not using all of them and being wasteful There is also sooo many TVs in here for all your sports needs And there's also an arcade tucked away in a little semi hidden area. So you don't hear any of the noise from all that Our waiter immediately came over and took our order. We put in for the fries (I wasn't thinking of anything special, but these fries were SOOOO crispy!) And then we got the meat baller. 10/10 highly recommend. I honestly didn't expect an item like this at a pizza place with an arcade in it. It gives the meatball starter at BOA steakhouse a run for its money Then we ordered the pepperoni pizza. Let me tell you, this pizza was absolutely HUGE. I'm not a pizza expert, but I'd say this is amazing New York style pizza. It was greasy and the pizza had just the right amount of floppy yet cooked perfectly. Could easily fold it and shove it in your mouth. These slices are huge. I was also extremely surprised a pizza like this (and with a meat topping) to only be 25 dollars I would 10000 percent come here. The wait staff was great, I never had to wait for a refill. They brought me to go containers for my ranch dressing and they gave us a military discount They also offer more than just pizza. We finally had a chance to stop in and try District 4 Pizza. The space is quite large, super clean and there are plenty of TVs playing all of the college football games (it was a Saturday). They also have a small arcade for the kids. We decided to get an appetizer and went with the calamari. It was mostly overcooked, but the pieces that weren't overcooked were pretty tasty. They have an interesting selection of pizzas, but we did not see a "make your own" option. We chose to try the Elote Pizza. The crust was fantastic. The bottom was quite crisp but it still has a nice chew to it. The toppings on the Elote Pizza didn't wow us but the crust was more than good enough for us to want to try other pizzas from the menu. Also, they only offer one size of whole pie. If you want something smaller they do offer slices. The service was great. Everyone was super friendly and they checked on us frequently. District 4 is a great addition to the Los Altos neighborhood. read more

Another yelp reviewer (a friend) recommended this place since I'm on the pizza craving madness period (this would be my #5 within 10 days). This is just my POV for lunch only... They have a special lunch menu and it is very reasonable price and offers, I wish I can order them all but I'm sticking with my craving for now, pizza. I got the 2 slices, house salad, soda for $13 but opted to upgrade for 805 beer that is for +$3 more... so $19 total for lunch is not bad at all. Pizza: thin crush, great slice size and crunchy bottom which I greatly appreciated (especially when you pick it up and everything still intact) and great quality & good taste. Salad: with blue cheese and Big portion and not bad at all...can't say much on beer since it just makes life great. Great services by Kristen, she's only one here for 3 groups and she's on top of things and with a smile. The place is big with TVs on the walls. Felt like back to college yrs again (CSULB is nearby and I went there), fun, relax and chill place to hangout with friends or just peaceful place to catch up with homework's....would be a great place to just chills with friends or family and they do have private room in case you have big group of 20+. Parking is easy, street parking or parking lot behind the place. They have others foods that looks tempting so will comeback again to try them. read more
Opening day was today! We walked over from our house as we live in the neighborhood. We got there about 20 minutes after starting time. There was already a decent amount of people there. It's nice inside. A big open concept. Several TV's throughout. A little arcade area for the kiddos. We ordered an appetizer called Whipp It Good and a pepperoni pizza. We liked the pizza a lot. The crust was fantastic! *yum* The appetizer was also tasty. It had a light texture to it. The only critique I have is that there wasn't enough bread served with it. We had quite a bit of cheese mixture leftover. If management is reading this, might I suggest serving 2 more pieces with it? This week they are only open in the evening. Wow! Our 2nd great delivery of the best dang pizza we've had lately. I'm picky having thrown pies for a living back in the day. This place does not disappoint! The Say Cheese with additional black olives was outstanding, the arugula salad finished it off. Kudos to the staff. Thank read more
Decided to give District 4 another try after my first lackluster pie experience and grabbed a lunch special this afternoon. The lunch special is a good deal, $10 for a slice of cheese or pepperoni, a salad, and soda. Dine in only. I was hoping to get a good sense of their standard cheese pizza, but unfortunately my slice was badly overcooked: dried out, and charred. A willingness to serve a slice in this condition speaks to a lack of concern over quality. Given the number of options for pizza in LB, I won't be trying District 4 again. read more

Did they recently change the pizza sauce? Tasted different the last 2 times we have ate there. It's not the same as when they opened. I preferred the original sauce they had.
