We'd been wanting to try this place for a long time, and it did not disappoint! Arrived for dinner around 5:45. While we were there we saw the line grow long a few times, but it moved quickly. We had looked over the menu previously but there were so many options it was hard to choose! There were build your own options as well as tasty menu combos. I chose the spicy lamb bowl, one person chose the harissa steak bowl and our other member created her own bowl with harissa honey chicken. They had a fair sized team working, and they moved very quickly and efficiently. We could hardly keep up with their questions as we moved through the line to have our bowls prepared! Haha. I was happy they asked though- if I wanted the dressing on the side, any changes to my menu combination, etc. They had interesting bottled drinks for sale as well as delicious sounding "fountain" juices. My daughter chose the blueberry lavender. It was delicious! Not too sweet, gentle flavor. We were very happy with our selections. They are packed in compostable with lids , for easy take out or dine in. The meats were cooked well, and the other ingredients were tasty and fresh. Good quality. The dips were yummy, and the sauces potent; the skhug sauce in particular packed a gralicky walllop. The only thing I would change next time would be more salad greens and less lentils. The bathrooms were accessible and clean. The restaurant was also clean. Decent amount of seating. They have a patio as well. We were impressed with the whole operation. I'm a die-hard Cava fan, but I found myself a little disappointed by this Long Beach location. I normally love their quick service, clean interior, and tasty (yet healthy) meal options. Unfortunately this location is often out of key line ingredients, its soda machine has been broken, and it's clearly not as well loved by the staff in terms of clean up. Either way, the food is tasty and keeps me coming back for more. Cava is easily my favorite chain, so I'd love to see them take this location to the next level. read more

For my first time here, it was a little intimidating because I didn't know what they offered. So I chose a pre-built chicken and rice bowl which consists of grilled chicken, brown rice, tzatziki, hummus, feta, pickled onion, tomato, arugula and Greek vinaigrette. Ordered pita chips on the side as well. Everything was delicious. It was fresh and light but they give you a lot in my opinion. The pita chips were so good too. I also got the jasmine iced tea. There was no sweetness to it so I wasn't a fan of it. I also got the blueberry lavender drink. Again, wasn't sweet but both drinks were very refreshing. Tasted clean. Prices are a little up there. Food: 10/10 Drinks: 7/10 Service: 5/10 Overall: 8/10 servers need to be a little more patient with guests, especially new ones who don't know what to order on the spot. All I asked for is Double Veggies (extra charge, perfect) and 1 scoop harissa chicken (no double) Sadly this boy employee with a cross necklace tried charging me for DOUBLE CHICKEN (i did not ask for). Pineapple apple mint- Just as good, if not better, the pineapple apple mint had tropical notes from the pineapple, also cut with 50% water. Prior to leaving, I did a 50/50 mix of pineapple apple mint & unsweetened jasmine green tea. That was the perfect combo! Service was good. The line was long, but moved at a steady clip. There was a bit of a hiccup scanning the QR code on my app, but it was taken care of. Cava is located on the left of Nothing Bundt Cakes, adjacent to In N' Out. This location charged us for items we did not order. The food was good. The value just wasn't there. After all the upcharges, we paid over $50 for just 2 bowls. Let me tell you why: the bowl you know it you love it, but what sets CAVA apart from it's competitors are the inspired variety of options. For the base you have like three different types of rice, black lentils, greens, and arugula! Then dip options (variety of hummus, baba ghanoush, etc.) Then protein options, and there are many options, they had veggies and falafel for vegetarians, which I appreciate, but I know the meats are quite happy too. Finally checked this place out a couple months ago, and I've been hooked. Even my mom and my daughter like eating here. Not too crazy busy during dinner hours. I've gone a couple of times on the weekend as well for late lunch and it has never been crazy busy. It might just be my timing though. I always get the grains and greens bowl with brown rice and super greens, roasted pepper hummer and crazy feta, either chicken or the braised lamb (I'll need to try the harissa honey chicken!). For toppings, I usually stick to the basics: cucumbers, feta cheese, olives and tomatoes. Sometimes I'll add pickled onions. Yogurt dill is my go to dressing, although the garlic sauce and the lemon herb tahini are close contenders. Most of the times I've gone with my daughter, we share whatever I order. This last time, however, I got her her own kids meal and she finished most of it. I was quite impressed. It's a good size for the price. My only warning: beware of what you're putting into your bowl. A lot of the dips, toppings and dressings can be quite overwhelming, flavor-wise. Lots of citrusy, vinegary, pickled flavor notes, so if you over-do it (which is quite easy to do) you may not be able to finish your own creation. haha read more

I had a terrible experience. After spending almost 30 dollars on a salad I couldn't have been more disappointed. The meat was incredibly chewy, dry, and a bit old. They were out of a few of the toppings I prefer and I requested my dressing be on the side. The young lady drenched my order in vinaigrette which of course left it bitter. I couldn't eat my food. So now I'm stuck with an entire bowl that's inedible. After calling to attempt to rectify this matter, no one answered the phone during regular business hours. I will never return. read more

Our visit to this CAVA location today was such a unique experience that it deserves to be documented--for the sake of future customers and, ideally, upper management. Let's start with the portions: We asked for a simple half rice, half salad base. What we received wouldn't have satisfied a toddler after preschool. Truly impressive how you can charge full price and still serve portions so laughably small they belong in a dollhouse. As if that weren't enough, the energy behind the counter was giving Mean Girls reunion. One of the employees (short Mexican girl with too much makeup) greeted us with a tone that could peel paint--sharp, nasally, and dripping with passive aggression. I asked if she was okay if she's tired, because her whole demeanor radiated either exhaustion or extreme disdain for customers. (Spoiler: She didn't appreciate the question, and what followed was a complete attitude shift--not just from her, but from her co-worker as well, who decided to match the vibe with an extra helping of rudeness.) From the food assembly to checkout, it became a performance of indifference and snark. The ghetto blonde girl at the register even made me bag my own food, apparently too busy cultivating a look of deep irritation to do her actual job. Customer service here seems to be more of a punishment than a profession. If you're looking to be served overpriced crumbs by people who treat basic courtesy as an optional feature, then by all means--this is your spot. Oh and of course I cannot forget to mention that once I got home and started eating my food, of course- I found a hair. Go figure. But good thing money is never an issue for me so I just called my boyfriend and had him take me to dinner- which is more than I can say for those two snarky girls- they probably just need some love in their life lol!
