Gyro wrap with potatoes and pickled turnip
    Mark M.

Came by again today, don't often get a hankering for real Persian food, but when I do this place fills the bill. All their items look very good, I always get the gyro wrap, with a side of their potatoes and it comes with pickled turnip. This place is inside a liquor store, yet they have dining both inside or on a side patio.

#9 Combo Trio- 2 salmon + 1 chicken, $3 upcharge because we got 2 salmon. $1 upcharge for spicy potatoes
    Jennifer N.

Beware of all the upcharges they might charge you. Read your receipt! I feel like they are totally taking advantage! We ordered 2 plates of underwhelming overcooked lunch plates. Kafta Kabob was overcooked and dry. Chicken Kabob was very dry and tough. Salmon Kabobs were too well done but decent. Their garlic sauce only have a light hint of garlic flavor to it. The best part of the meal was the rice and hummus. We realized all the upcharges were added to our bill. We asked for an ONE extra pita bread, they charged $1.00. They only gave us 1 garlic sauce and I asked for another one because we ordered 2 plates. They charged me an extra 75 cents because one of these combo plates doesn't include garlic sauce. Uhm... ok. Apparently only 1 plate can have a garlic sauce. What kind of logic is that?! They both are Mediterranean plates with rice and hummus! 75 cents extra for a tiny garlic sauce. Custom charge of $3.00 was added to our $24 combo plates because I substitute the beef for another salmon Kabob. The other Kabob was a chicken. A takeout order, they charges 15 cents for a paper bag. Kafta Kebab plate $18.99 Mixed Grill Combo $23.99 Single pita bread $1.00 Custom Charge $3.00 Garlic Paste 0.75 PAPERBAG FEE 0.15 Credit card surcharge of 3% is added to the bill. The bill came out to be $55 for a takeout meal that's inside and behind a liquor store. All the highlighted upcharges on the receipt (see picture) that other restaurants does not charges. This is just taking advantage of your customer. Next time, I'll enjoy a nice sit down meal at a Mediterranean restaurant down the street with those prices. So underwhelming and disappointed. I know times are tough. I'm sure that $20 plus dollars you charge for a plate of food already made the business some profit already. It's tough for the customers as well, but taking advantage like this, I will never come back again which is too bad because my office is near and we would of made this our regular place to grab lunch. In honesty, it's not the extra few dollars that matter, it's the principle.

    CHICKEN SHAWARMA WRAP

Although the restaurant was in a liquor store, the store did have so many non alcoholic beverages to choose from. Food was great! Very flavorful. I'd definitely come back!

Wonder and Friendly atmosphere and service. The wrap has so much flavor that you don't need the sauce. I'm not sure why the fries are called spicy. They do have a kick and are delicious.

I really have been giving this place a shot bcs it's so close to me, I always pick up my orders and cashiers are always great! The other day I was craving some fries with garlic (spicy potatoes on menu) and a fattoush salad. I understand the potatoes are freshly cut and all that but when I got home I realized $8.99 for a SMALL order fries is outrageous!!! I opted out of the spicy sauce, green jalapeño, too spicy for me, I like garlic with my fries so I got alil side of garlic paste. And I asked the cashier if the fattoush came with pita chips and they said no, which I recall different. Took my food home and yeah I looked online fattoush should come with pita chips. Anyway, fries were good but not $8.99 worth...

This is restaurant number 10 in my Bixby Knolls food tour. My son recommended this restaurant to me as I really enjoy Mediterranean food. Most of the food was delicious. The man who took my order is named Justin. He was very patient while I looked over the menu. Salmon kebab plate- A+. It comes with rice, hummus, and a small, delicious salad. The salmon was perfectly prepared. There is squash and onion on the kebab as well. The rice was fantastic. They have a sampler of rice at the counter. The salad that accompanied the platter was really good. Fresh and had some tasty feta cheese on it. Baba ghanoush- A. Full of flavor and just the right consistency. Chicken Shawarma platter- B. I meant to order a chicken Shawarma wrap, but got the platter instead apparently. I didn't try it. It fell apart. The spicy potatoes that came with it were undercooked and nothing to write home about. Beef kafta- A+. I ordered just a single kafta because I tend to rate Mediterranean restaurants based on their kafta preparation. Theirs was flavorful, not dry, and the spices really came through. The only thing that was a disappointment was the bread. C-. It was too thin and very hard. You could barely fold it in half to scoop up the baba ghanoush or hummus. Many reviews mentioned their green sauce. It is quite tasty and goes well with many of their dishes. The service was good, I had an IPA while I waited. They have tables inside and a covered patio outside with several tables. You can only drink alcohol out on the patio. My food was prepared, fairly quickly, long enough for me to enjoy the patio and my beer. I found it to be interesting that the restaurant is at the back of a liquor store. Brilliant idea.

I had a very nice lunch here with my mom. Went in Thursday afternoon. The cashier was very nice and he was patient with me ordering. I ordered the beef plate plus two chicken skewers my mom ordered the salmon plate and two shrimp skewers. It's was way too much food but everything was really good. The place is very small inside of the liquor store so it works well for takeout!

    Mix plate kofta
    Lynn S.

This used to be my favorite local spot for Middle Eastern food, but as of recent their food has been terrible. Last time my mix plate kofta, chicken and beef was too dry . This time their kofta, chicken and beef was horribly it doesn't taste good, the beef undercooked it felt like I was chewing on hard gum, I couldn't eat it. Idk if they got a new cook or changed the recipe, or their standards have changed, but I'm done eating here. I didn't even finish or eat a majority of it and it gave me an instant stomach ache & horrible gas. Don't recommend.

It's all about the food the ambiance and vibe. I have eaten here for many years the restaurant is setup and located inside the liquor store in back of the store they only have a two sets of two person seating tables it's clean the staff are chill always nice and ordering is easy low key just order take it home is what most people do. Chicken Kebabs Grilled perfectly and seasoned well it comes with rice a small salad and hummus and pita it's very good and that salad dressing is the bomb I'd suggest you buy an extra one and eat it with the chicken this meal was a 8/10 it was so good I ate all of the salad and had a lot of rice and chicken leftover. Hummus delicious but the pita bread is mid and not homemade it will do but I prefer it made fresh. 7/10 Strawberry cheesecake Delicious very buttery crust and soo good. Side salad I ordered a larger one to go and bought an extra salad dressing that was divine it's a yogurt based garlicky sauce and I love it. Green sauce For dipping the chicken in this one is tasty. Tsaziki sauce Creamy garlicky and soo bomb I always buy extra. I definitely recommend that you give them a try there's so much more on that menu grilled salmon beef kebabs falafel gyros and more. Just me Shawn C. ; )

That first experience is what made me come back. On my second visit, I ordered the same salad with chicken and lamb because I wanted that same experience again. When I got back to work, I realized the chicken was missing. I did not complain because I still had the lamb and the rest of the salad, and I understand that mistakes happen. Still, it was disappointing because I specifically came back wanting the same complete meal I had the first time. On my third visit, I drove from Gardena to Signal Hill specifically for that salad. After driving back to Gardena, I realized there was no dressing in the bag. I called the restaurant and explained what happened. I was told, "I'm sorry." At first I accepted that, but then I thought, what am I supposed to do with a salad with no dressing? I called back because I wanted to know what could be done. I was told that if I wanted my money back, I would have to bring the salad back to the restaurant. That meant after already driving from Gardena to Signal Hill and back, I was expected to make another trip because of something the restaurant forgot. When I explained that I was disappointed with how the situation was being handled and that I planned to leave a review, the woman on the phone responded, "All this for a dressing?" That comment bothered me more than the original mistake. Yes, it was dressing, but that misses the point. This was already the second time something had been left out of my order. The first time, I let it go. This time, the missing item affected the whole meal. What I would have appreciated was simple customer service. Acknowledge the inconvenience and make an effort to keep the customer. Something as simple as, "We apologize. Unfortunately, we cannot refund you without the food being returned, but on your next visit we will make sure we take care of you," would have completely changed the experience. Even offering a drink next time or simply saying they appreciated my business would have shown that they cared. I also tipped on my takeout order because I believe a tip is a way of showing appreciation for good service and attention to detail. I understand that a tip does not guarantee perfection, but it was disappointing to tip and still receive an incomplete order. There was also something I observed during this visit that concerned me. Someone spilled a drink, and one of the cooks helped clean it up. He wiped the floor while wearing gloves and, from what I could see, appeared to keep the same gloves on when returning to food preparation. That made me uncomfortable. I would have expected the gloves to be changed before handling food again. To be fair, the restaurant itself looks clean, organized, and well maintained. The tables, chairs, counters, and furniture appear to be in good condition. That is one of the reasons I kept giving this place another chance. I wanted to like Pita Pitaki. After my first visit, I thought it might become one of my go to places. Unfortunately, I never really got that same full experience again. My first visit was good. My second visit was missing the chicken. My third visit was missing the dressing, followed by customer service that made me feel like my concern did not matter. You can have good food and a clean restaurant, but customer service still matters. Sometimes how a business handles a mistake matters more than the mistake itself. My advice for anyone ordering takeout here is simple. Double check your order before you leave. Open the bag and make sure you have everything, especially meats, sauces, and dressing. Unfortunately, after giving this place several chances, it is no longer one of my go to spots.

Ordered everything all at once since the worker was playing cashier, waiter and host. It started to get busy so I did not want to wait any longer then I had to. Ordered a Margarita, Michelada, 7 Carne Asada Tacos, 6 El Pastor Tacos and 2 potato tacos. We were served Chips and Salsa as we waited. Our drinks arrived about 10 to 15 mins later and Tacos arrived 10 minutes after that. The Carne Asada was just ok. It was rather over cooked. The al pastor was better then the Carne asada. Potato tacos could of used some more flavor. So it was a hit and miss on the taste of the tacos being served. The salsa was tasty along with the chips that tasted fresh. The service was very slow. I am not knocking on our waitress. She was trying as the place started to fill up. She stayed calm as more customers started to come in. By the time we were done eating, about an hour or so later.. she finally received some help. I was relieved for her. Overall, this is a mom and pops restaurant. A family affair with their own children working in this restaurant. I wasn't to harsh on the service because I understood the pressure she was going through. Netti who was our server, waitress and host did her best to accommodate us. I really recommend staff management to support Taco Tuesdays accordingly. Lucky alot of the people in the restaurant were very patient with the service being provided. They could use some work on this subject I recommend supporting this family restaurant. I will try to order other things on the menu next time.

Luckily it wasn't one of those wet dressings, otherwise by the time I would have gotten to my food at home, it would have been soggy! My husband ordered a side of steak. The space looked clean and simple, nothing fancy but comfortable enough. The employee working there was very friendly. He came out from the back, answered my questions, and recommended the chicken pesto panini, saying it's their most popular item. I also added a Caesar salad for $2.99, which I thought was a fair price, and decided to try the bread pudding as well. The panini itself was pretty good. The bread was nicely toasted, the cheese was melted well, and the pesto had good flavor. The only downside for me was the chicken -- it seemed like it might have been boiled and then mixed with pesto. It was a bit tougher than I would have liked. The Caesar salad was decent for the price. Unfortunately, the bread pudding didn't work for me. It was very dense and almost brick-like. Overall, the value is there and the staff was very nice.
