Beware of all the upcharges they might charge you. Read your receipt! I feel like they are totally taking advantage! We ordered 2 plates of underwhelming overcooked lunch plates. Kafta Kabob was overcooked and dry. Chicken Kabob was very dry and tough. Salmon Kabobs were too well done but decent. Their garlic sauce only have a light hint of garlic flavor to it. The best part of the meal was the rice and hummus. We realized all the upcharges were added to our bill. We asked for an ONE extra pita bread, they charged $1.00. They only gave us 1 garlic sauce and I asked for another one because we ordered 2 plates. They charged me an extra 75 cents because one of these combo plates doesn't include garlic sauce. Uhm... ok. Apparently only 1 plate can have a garlic sauce. What kind of logic is that?! They both are Mediterranean plates with rice and hummus! 75 cents extra for a tiny garlic sauce. Custom charge of $3.00 was added to our $24 combo plates because I substitute the beef for another salmon Kabob. The other Kabob was a chicken. A takeout order, they charges 15 cents for a paper bag. Kafta Kebab plate $18.99 Mixed Grill Combo $23.99 Single pita bread $1.00 Custom Charge $3.00 Garlic Paste 0.75 PAPERBAG FEE 0.15 Credit card surcharge of 3% is added to the bill. The bill came out to be $55 for a takeout meal that's inside and behind a liquor store. All the highlighted upcharges on the receipt (see picture) that other restaurants does not charges. This is just taking advantage of your customer. Next time, I'll enjoy a nice sit down meal at a Mediterranean restaurant down the street with those prices. So underwhelming and disappointed. I know times are tough. I'm sure that $20 plus dollars you charge for a plate of food already made the business some profit already. It's tough for the customers as well, but taking advantage like this, I will never come back again which is too bad because my office is near and we would of made this our regular place to grab lunch. The flavors were all there. The kebabs were good. The beef was filet mignon. I think that my chicken skewer was a little bit too charred. The shrimp was very flavorful and salad was fresh. The hummus had tons of flavor. My only thing is that it was a very interesting set up because it's inside of a liquor store and there are homeless people near the outside dining patio and also right outside of the door of the liquor store so it doesn't make it very comfortable for anyone to really want to eat there. It was so filled with eggplant steaks, salad, and sauce that everything kept falling out! It definitely made for a second dish. The spicy potatoes are something worth trying. I loved the level of spice. As for the pickled turnips, I've had those with every order and will continue to have them. They're a perfect amount of vinegary and salt. This place is located in a liquor store but honestly with how tasty the food is you might as well be in a different realm! The ambiance is well.... A LIQUOR STORE! Soooo not the best overall atmosphere. If you are looking for decent priced Mediterranean food that is high quality this might be a good stop to check out. I was really craving it but didn't want to make the drive, so I decided to give this spot a chance. It's located inside Liquor Land, and although they share the space, it actually works. There's indoor seating and even a small patio area, though the patio was already closed by the time we arrived. Since we came close to closing, they were only doing take-out orders, which was fine. This is restaurant number 10 in my Bixby Knolls food tour. My son recommended this restaurant to me as I really enjoy Mediterranean food. Most of the food was delicious. The man who took my order is named Justin. He was very patient while I looked over the menu. Salmon kebab plate- A+. It comes with rice, hummus, and a small, delicious salad. The salmon was perfectly prepared. There is squash and onion on the kebab as well. The rice was fantastic. They have a sampler of rice at the counter. This used to be my favorite local spot for Middle Eastern food, but as of recent their food has been terrible. Last time my mix plate kofta, chicken and beef was too dry . This time their kofta, chicken and beef was horribly it doesn't taste good, the beef undercooked it felt like I was chewing on hard gum, I couldn't eat it. Idk if they got a new cook or changed the recipe, or their standards have changed, but I'm done eating here. You have brainrot girl in the cashier front that does little to anything, and then the Edgar's in the back kitchen procrastinating. I was the only one there prior to them being busy, no tickets lined up. Then two customers are ahead of me, one person got a huge order which was online, but no ticket prior to me being there, it was dead! And I'm waiting for about 25 mins for my food. Only to end up being lukewarm. The food is decent, but it really depends who's working in the kitchen that day. Also other competitors give you side dressings, I know with my plate I was to get more, but only got green sauce. And the second customer that got their food ahead of me was customer #4 but I let it slide because it was a first responder. I notice they prioritize for them, which I respect. The young man in the cashier is respectful and courteous. But for what I'm paying which is near $30 (rounded) for one plate, end up being lukewarm because they had their kitchen swamped leaving my food to be like this. Unacceptable.
