    18 Avocado and Turkey Sub

Let me start by saying that I had tried coming a few times due to my schedule I would always be too late. Today I risked running out of gas to make it lol. My first impression was the service, the owner was present and she was super kind and engaging in conversation and I loved that! Second, my sandwich met my expectations!!! NOT DRY, bunch of crunchy bits, nice pickles and peppers in my sandwich. I loved every bit and will be back later with my husband! Thank you for making your shop so welcoming and being so helpful. The owner was super apologetic about her hours and me not making it in the past (which she shouldn't be) and she mentioned I can call ahead when that happens and she can wait for me which was very nice to hear! Please give this place a try you won't be disappointed!!!!

We got 2 sandwhiches. Both seemed to taste the same. Nothing great very basic and nothing to remember. Inside is a bit dated. Old school seating. Service was okay. Not super nice or helpful. Wouldn't go back but seen a few other places around to try.

Delicious!!! I went in here on my lunch looking for an authentic, good Italian sandwich and got exactly that! The food is FRESH and delicious, the service is great, (not sure if it's family owned but it sure feels that way) and it's CLEAN! This was my test drive to see if I would come back again for office lunches and it absolutely passes, I bought my staff some subs and they all loved it. the meats and bread taste so fresh, I can eat a foot long and not feel stuffed, the bread is so light and tastes like it was just made. Will continue to be a regular here!

Food is okay. I was assuming a better sandwich than Subway. Service is good. We just have to wait for a lil bit. The worker was by herself. Ambiance is okay. For $29 + cents. I rather go to Sunday. Thank you for the experienced. Pic's provided below.

Finally tried this place in Lakewood. Patty who made my sandwiches has been there 22+ years, she worked for previous owner. Prev owner retired and sold to her just before pandemic. Very warm friendly and welcoming. This place has been there 40 years or more, glad to see the legacy continue. Sandwiches were not cheap: $45 for 2 foot longs, 2 large fountain sodas and 1 large 4oz macaroni salad to share. Expensive for what it is but high quality. Macaroni salad: excellent, elbows with slightly sweet mayo dressing, with yellow mustard and sweet relish forward, and minced red bell pepper. Very fresh and tasty, I could eat my own tub of this. 5/5 The Works sub: chock full of goodness: tons of layers of meat, shredded lettuce, onion and pepperoncini. A very hefty sandwich. 5/5 Meatball: got it topped with onions and pepperoncinis. Tomato sauce was pretty sweet; we inhaled that sandwich. Not as hefty as The Works but a nice warm sandwich. 4/5 Sandwich rolls are excellent, tender crumb with a little chew. It's not a big place but they certainly have some tables to grab lunch if you want to eat in. Very good for sandwiches. Will be back again.

The hours posted say Thursday 9-6. I drive all the over here excited to try what looks like a tasty sub. I arrive at 5:24 pm and the place is already closed. It's not even 6 pm yet. I strongly believe in supporting small businesses and do as much as possible. It's really frustrating to show up to a place that is supposed to be open and they are closed with no explanation. I would have been a new customer today but I don't think I will be coming back if this is how they conduct their business.

Had to go to Long Beach for work and was in the mood for a good sandwich. Thanks to Yelp, I found OJs Subs. Another great small business with quality food. As I've said before, I judge sandwich shops by their Italian sandwich and OJs did not disappoint. Initially, I thought the bread was a bit on the soft side but it was good and the thinly sliced lettuce and onions are the way to go as they add so much texture to the sandwich. I opted for light dressing in case it made the bread soggy or overpowers the taste. I got the large (12") and it's quite a bit of food. Can probably share with someone but it's easy to keep eating when the food tastes good. Will come back here if I am back in Long Beach. Plus, the owner is very nice and I had a chance to chat with her to compliment her on the food but I also had to ask about the business name... Rest assured, this place is not named after OJ Simpson . The original owner (40 years ago) named it after one of his grand kids initials. The shopping center has been recently renovated so stop by if you're in the mood for a darn good sandwich!

Easy parking. Inside cozy, clean. Good customer service, family vibe. Was in the mood for a good sandwich that wasn't a chain like Subway or Jersey Mikes. Glad to stop into this local spot! Ordered the Italian sub, enjoyed it. Veggies and meat good quality, perfectly made, neatly prepared, was not drowned in mayo or mustard. Just right :)

Incredible! The bread is super soft and fresh! You can tell the deli meat is all freshly sliced. Everything that's you'd want from a sub shop. Friendly service as well. Skip the corporate fast food shops and check this place out. Nice and clean and cozy inside!

This is one of the best places to have a nice sandwich and take to a picnic. Which I would recommend to order ahead. Service is excellent.

The server (owner?) asked if we wanted cheese and Cole slaw, and that's how we got it. The sandwich was big enough to share so if the sandwich seems pricey, consider sharing. Although on a hungry day, I could probably eat it all with no problem. Dilly's has a fairly decent amount of craft beers on draft. I wasn't in a beer-drinking mood so I didn't look too closely at the list. I love it when restaurants support local brewers, and this looks like the kind of place that would do just that.

Heard about Dilly's Sandwiches having the most unique rotating set of beers on tap in Long Beach,…read moreso had to come to try it. The taste portions were very reasonably priced, allowing to create your own flight (or two). Specifically scheduled an early afternoon to come to the Lakewood Village neighborhood of East Long Beach. My wife found an angled parking spot right in front. It wasn't too crowded inside and the four of us found easy, comfortable seating in the brightly decorated dining room. One places and pays for the order at the counter, with the proprietors being very friendly and engaged. They brought out our beers after the pour, and the sandwiches a bit after (since each is individually carefully made). Beers: - Northern Lager [Oxbow] - ($5 for 13oz pour) was clean, crisp and a hoppy aftertaste. - Infinite Hotel [The Wayfinder X Bierstadt] (marked as $3 but charged $4) is a rice lager and was the favorite of the group for its drinkability - Winteruption [JK's Farmhouse] ($3) is a cider with very strong maple syrup overtones: never tasted anything like it. - Hyper Paradise [Rare Barrel] ($4) - saison and ale with mango and passion fruit. I liked this beer very much. - A Place Like Home [Pure Project] ($3) - Nitro poured Extra Special Bitter. - Double Negative [Grimm] ($4) - Imperial Stout, which I really enjoyed. - Amongst Friends [Sante Adairius] ($4) - a cherry saison, unusual and was glad to sample. A lot of work was put into creating this flight, with the careful pours and markings to make sure I knew what was what. I really appreciated the opportunity to sample all of these on-tap. In terms of the food, the group as a whole really liked them, though I guess I wasn't as impressed with my two samples, mainly because it used non-descript deli meat in OK quantities, heating them up when necessary. Hot Beef ($18) was my wife's, and it had been griddled with cheese to form a crispy lattice. The Ham and Cheese ($16) was served cold and had potato chips inside which my mother-in-law liked (saving the other half for home). Our friend and I split the Hot Turkey ($16) and Pastrami No 19 style ($20). The pastrami meat was piled high and the cole slaw was crisp and good, but was served cold (should have read the description more closely) and mediocre rye bread broke apart quickly. The Hot Turkey ($16) was served on ciabatta that had been grill pressed for a long time, creating a wonderful crust as good as any sandwich I've had. But the filling was OK, using standard turkey breast slices from a loaf and an ok stuffing...using hand carved turkey would have made a big difference here, but understand it's hard to do. Strangely, even though it's a pickle adorned shop, each sandwich just came with an ordinary pickle spear, what one would expect from a diner, not a deli. And the prices are on the higher side, especially with no sides and most not being particularly ginormous. But I loved how each sandwich used different breads, and how some of them were toasted very well. And having the opportunity to try these unique beers made it a really good experience.

It's located in Bixby Knolls, surrounded by coffee shops, restaurants, bars and breweries, yet it's the only true wine bar right there. Honestly, Long Beach has more wine bars than most surrounding areas, and since the South Bay is packed with breweries, if you're tired of beer this is your sign to switch it up. You will not regret it. The food menu has cheese boards, salads and sandwiches, and everything I've had here has been delicious. The cheese boards are better than sex. There is seating indoors and outdoors. It's minimal, but somehow we always manage to find a table. The service is consistently great and the owner is wonderful. She will be leaving soon and she will absolutely be missed, but what she has built here will definitely be cherished. The new owners fell in love with the place, so you can expect it to be well taken care of and to remain just as charming. Parking is street only, so read the signs carefully so you don't end up with a ticket. If you go on a Sunday there are no restrictions or time limits, which makes it even better.
