Not my favorite Jan's location, but it's probably because they're new and still working out the kinks. The restaurant is kept very cold and the vibes inside felt a little weird and empty. When we got home and started unpacking the food, my wife asked if there was another bag, her salad was missing the avocado cilantro dressing. She was pretty disappointed, and honestly, I get it. That dressing is one of the best parts of the Jan's classic salad. Driving two hours round trip just for dressing definitely wasn't happening. The pasta salad that came on the side was underwhelming and a bit dry. My wife tried their smoothie, and she enjoyed it. It was unusually pricey, even considering recent inflation and the location cost. The smoothie cost as much as my sandwich. The decor is quite whimsical and captivating. The faux fresco ceiling and the intricate trimming transport the diners from a mundane shopping center. The indoor dining area is quite spacious, and the food came out pretty quickly when it wasn't too busy. Usually this is a tool to promote your meals in the wellness space To clarify from what I saw the food is NOT Low Calorie, and IS high fat, low carb, and low protein. It is also high quality ingredients offering more micronutrients. That being said a SNACK SIZE SIX PIECE spring roll is 700 - 800 calories. Taste: the protein açaí bowl was absolutely delicious, the spring roll is their most popular but the tuna salad wasn't appealing after the second piece. I would say I didn't feel like I had a full meal(considering price). Price: you are paying a premium! These two snack size items came out to $32! I think this serves a specific audience. For someone pursuing weight loss or any goal that involves tracking your macros/calories this is may not be worth visiting as it won't serve your goals. The food is nutrient dense. read more
