I had Oakberry for the first time during the Summer Stroll and Savor Food Festival. Let's just say, this was hands down my favorite item that we ate all night. From trying dozens of restaurants and shops, Oakberry's Açaí Bowl topped it all. Its fresh fruit and peanut butter, granola, and açaí made this the perfect combination. I'd be lying if I didn't say I came back 5 times in the same night for more. The staff were kind, speedy, and very friendly. I really thought I was going to get a bowl, but it is in a smoothie cup and the granola is layered within the smoothie. They'll sprinkle a bit on top with, maybe, a quarter of a banana, but that's it. I ordered the Pistachio. The quality of the acai and the pistachio was excellent. Overall, I thought I paid more for what I got. The granola also tasted a little funky to me. read more

First off, location is good, on second street so it's convenient. Secondly the staff members were very nice, professional, efficient, and helpful. The açaí bowls itself were meh, we got the 16oz, we ordered the crazy for mango and the crunchy bowl. The açaí itself was watery, it came out of a machine felt like a smoothie consistency rather than actual açaí bowl consistency. We got peanut butter in ours and the peanut butter was flavorless and watered down. I love açaí bowls but this has got to be one of the least favorite places to get it from. Pretty pricey for the quality, unfortunately will not be coming back here again. If you're looking for good açaí bowls I wouldn't recommend this place sadly. Ambiance is ok, only 2 stools to sit inside and 1 table with two seats to sit outside. read more

Second time coming here and leaving disappointed. Got the $14 "blue ferry" signature smoothie. Drink came not filled to the top, the "blue smoothie" was a watery nothing on the top of a watery açaí slush underneath. This "smoothie" disintegrated into frothy nothingness. Flavorless. Worst $14 drink I've almost ever had. Second item we ordered was the matcha mango, for $10 this didn't taste like matcha and was also not worth the price. I decided to treat myself to an açaí bowl and tried Oakberry for the first time! Their sign outside almost persuaded me to get a matcha but felt it was only right to get an açaí - after all, it's their specialty! BUT - I did go the non traditional route and ordered a Pistachio Bowl. At first, my taste buds didn't know what to make of it, but the closer I got to the granola bits, the more I loved the combination. I appreciate that the pistachio cream doesn't overpower the açaí. The açaí bowls were made as I ordered and were delicious. I have been waiting for Oakberry to open! Perfectly located on 2nd street, where parking can be difficult, I lucked out with a space close by. This is a smaller location with just a handful of stool bar seats at the window and a couple tables outside. I ordered a custom bowl (12oz) which comes with unlimited toppings. Besides the acai base, I also had peanut butter, dry milk, cocoa nibs, goji berries, chai seeds, banana, blueberries and strawberries. It was very good! Nice balance of flavor and texture. Service was great, fast and friendly. I ate my bowl shortly after it was made, and the only thing I wish was better was the consistency and thickness (or lack the of) of the acai. Of all the locations I've been to in the States and Internationally, the acai has always been thicker to start and may thin out on a hot day. My order was pretty much drinkable right away. I was able to attend a Yelp Elite Event at the Sports Basement in Long Beach. Oakberry Acai was one of the participants and was handing out some samples. I have to say out of all the samples there, this was my favorite. The acai was sweet and flavorful and the creamy peanut butter was delicious. Tried Oakberry for the first time while walking 2nd street -- i heard great things about this place and had to try it myself. Loved the build your own option, price is decent for what you're getting. I really liked how it all tasted, but I wish the acai base didn't melt so fast (it wasn't that hot outside), it was getting watery within minutes after receiving it. Also, pros and cons about serving the bowls in a cup fomat vs bowl vibes~ i like that it has an open lid but maybe just need longer spoons bc it was hard to get the bottom of it without getting your fingers dirty. read more

Finally this place opened. I ordered online and picked up my crunchy açaí bowl with whey protein. Edwardo was very friendly and welcoming into the store. It came in this cool to go bag which was perfect to take to enjoy on the beach. I thought the bowl was pretty good. Oakberry Açaí is so delicious that I followed them to Long Beach from Greece! Not literally, but I recognized the best Açaí bowls place on 2nd street immediately from the location they have in Greece. It's just as mouth-watering as I remember AND I don't have to spend thousands of dollars to have it again. I came across Oakberry Açaí during Ship & Shop and I got the "mini" Crunchy bowl. It was layered with açaí, chia seeds, more açaí, granola (which never got soggy!), and even MORE açaí! You definitely get your moneys worth. The whole cup is artfully topped with strawberries and blueberries. It also comes with cacao bits but I'm not a fan of those so I asked my order to be customized without them. Each scoop was better than the last. In fact, I was craving the next one so badly that I went back to the shop to get a second Crunchy! No shame, and definitely, no regrets! They have preset bowl options but if you want to customize your treat, they have so many fruits, toppings, and other goodies to add to your açaí bowl, UNLIMITED! The options are seriously endless! The açaí here is honestly the best I've had in Long Beach, as a Brazilian, it really tastes like the one back home. Great texture and flavor! But the service wasn't great. The blonde Asian employee didn't greet me at all, even though I got there early and told her I had ordered online. Probably it's her first job. She just stayed on her phone right in front of me. I waited about 10-15 minutes, and only then she started making my order. I showed her my confirmation email, but she didn't explain anything, not sure if there was a delay with the order or miscommunication, but no one said a word. It felt pretty cold to be standing there while she was on her phone. There's another blonde employee who is actually really friendly and knows how to provide good service! I just feel like a place that sells something so Brazilian should also bring that warmth and friendliness. That was definitely missing. Added vegan protein powder. Definitely not worth $17! The acai was liquid. Melted as soon as I walked out of the store. It is like soft serve, not scooped. The protein powder is its own layer, which is just strange. I had to mix the entire cup so make sure I wasn't scooping a bite of powder. The liquid form acai made stirring easy, but there was so little granola or peanut butter. It was hard to eat with a spoon because of the consistency. The açaí was okay. Really sweet. The beat açaí I've had in my life and I'm not exaggerating. I would drive all the way to Huntington Beach just for this & I'm so thrilled there's one in Long Beach. This açaí is the real deal and authentic. My go to order: granola, peanut butter, coconut, strawberry, bananas, and my favorite topping....dry milk! I know what you're thinking like dry milk But this completes my açaí, I feel some people get thrown off with the consistency of the açaí because they're used to the sorbet type but this is not what they have, it's a more liquid texture which is so much better and the authentic way anyways. I love it so much and that Eduardo gave us a small side of it (shown in the picture). Place is small but that's how it is in like in the other locations I've been in. They sell their granola, have merch like shirts, and other beverages.
