Found this small storefront on a whim as I was doing some shopping across the street. Absolutely delicious! I choose the build your own bowl option, although they had many bowl options that sounded desirable. The build your own allowed me to combine all my favorites. I started with the green blend base, added granola, banana's strawberries, blueberries, several toppings, and topped off with almond butter. Wow, was this a fabulous combo. I've been here a few times and their açaí bowls are not the best, but are good. Flavor and texture is just right. They have a variety of toppings and mix-ins but I wish they offered organic alternatives. Service is fast and efficient. Place could be cleaner and tidier. Floors were sticky and the location had a chemical smell like that of bleach/cleaning product when we visited. Great natural acai bowls! Let's start with the actual base of the acai. It tastes very organic and not too much like any concentrate (not sure what the ingredients in the base are). It's thick, light and very filling. The granola is not too sugary or overprocessed. There is a nice flavor and crunch to it. The fruit was very fresh and had a good color to it. Bowl's are pretty large and good size for the price. I shared a large and still was satisfied. The service was very quick and workers were very helpful and kind. The inside was also very clean and organized. Plenty of parking in the back or you can park on the street. The only thing is, they do not have tables or seating and it is very small inside. This spot is conveniently located near the Walter pyramid. I just wanted to find a spot to grab a quick snack since it was such a hot day. I haven't had an açaí bowl in a while and this was perfect. My go to item is the Longshoreman, but I remove the bananas and add cacao nibs. I love this combination because it embodies a healthy yet subtle version of chocolate covered strawberries. The fruit and granola is always fresh, and I love how they add granola to the bottom of the bowl to perfect the granola to acai ratio. I had a super kind employee help me today, she had the kindest attitude and also suggested adding extra strawberries to my bowl to give it more fruit, since I was removing the banana. This place has pretty friendly employees (one of them spent a good chunk of time being patient as I kept thinking about my order, asking questions, then changing my mind!), but I finally settled on the Queen Bee. Overall, it was tasty and the ratio of acai to granola to fruits/toppings is probably like 5:1:1 (usually places I go to is more of a 4:1:1 or even a 4:1:2), so I do wish they gave a bit more of the toppings, but it was okay. Taste-wise, I usually prefer plain/original acai or pitaya sorbet with no juices, milks, or other fruits, but I'm not going to grumble on it too much. My main qualm with this is that the presentation was messy/dirty (acai flung all over the lid), whereas a big part of the magic that happens is the initial reaction when you first receive a heaping bowl of beautifully decorated acai and colorful fruits. Another thing that got me was that there were giant pockets of air all over my cup, and even though it was still a heaping chunk of acai, at least shake it and get it consistent so I don't feel like I'm getting jipped in some way. No one wants to see a hollow macaron with frosting all over the edges and top, so why would we want to see that presentation here? I've looked at the pictures here and see that it's a rather consistent thing...presentation, folks, it can make or break someone's palate, especially when the item in mind is not just on taste but on colors, vibrancy, and decor. read more

The description looked good. And it was. I wanted to try it for what it is. No modifications. The texture of the base was perfect! Some places give you mush! Ewww but here, the texture was nice and thick. In a good way. My only disappointment is that there wasn't enough granola. Not the amount, but the quality. It was cut/filled with wheat puffs. That rice crispies type stuff. Real granola is expensive so I can see why a bowl won't have much for $9.90. Again, not complaining. Because I enjoyed it. But I don't think I'll come back. Food: 4/5 In my opinion, it's really hard to mess up açaí bowls. We ordered 3 bowls in total, Roundabout, Longshoreman, and Notorious Nut. The general flavors of all three bowls were really good. The size that they give you as well is very generous. The plating of the bowl is very beautiful as well. The reason for the 4/5, is that I asked for peanut butter to be added inside the açaí mixer for the notorious. After eating all three bowl, the notorious bowl did not have peanut butter in it. Adding peanut butter was an additional charge of $1.00, which iN my opinion is relatively high for an add in, which I did not get. Ambiance: 5/5 It's a small joint. Due to covid, no inside seating is available. Order at the door. Can't fault them for following guidelines so they get a 5/5. Precovid, it looks like a nice juice bar to just run in, get your healthy snack/meal and leave. Which is a nice concept to have for healthy eaters. Overall: 4/5 This will be my go to açaí place. I support this business A LOT. Its my go to for my Açaí Bowls. And I take my family there as well. However, any time I try to make a call for my order, my calls get ignored. So I continuously call until someone picks up. I know others can relate. And no it can't be the phones being down- because after I've "bothered" calling them a few times they answer so rude and sound monotone. If you can't handle the job or the spikes in foot traffic, it's not my fault. Be better don't make excuses, or work somewhere else that doesn't involve customer service.
