This was my first time and the staff is very cheerful and welcoming. The owner herself rung up my order and mentioned how blessed she felt to have good customers and reoccurring visitors. The fries had plenty of fresh feta, and lightly diced green onions. I'm not sure if it was the gyro or the fries but they definitely added freshly minced garlic. The taste was a bit strong at first but it balanced well with the pita, Greek yogurt, tomato, and onion. Next time I come back I will definitely order a side of TZATZIKI to tone down the garlic. The veggies were definitely fresh and crispy, the restaurant is clean and nicely lit. Overall I would come back and try more of what they have to offer. read more

Now to the important stuff- I recommend the Chicken Souvlaki Pita, make sure to get a side of fries to go along with it! The mustard sauce they add to this sandwich adds the final savory touch. The Chicken Gyro Pita is pretty good too, the spices taste more intense in this sandwich vs the Souvlaki. Their Souvlaki Plate is also a great choice if you're really hungry and want to grub on a healthier choice. Since it comes with the Tzatziski sauce on the side, the marinated meat stands out on another level. This plate comes with a side of your choice, small salad, pita and hummus. Worst meal I have eaten in Long Beach, PERIOD. The "Special" was a dried out glop of thin sliced Gyro lamb. ( Not the roasted in the oven for 6 hours in aluminum foil) that the overbearing waiter said. It was completely inedible. No seasoning, no moisture, no salt, nothing. It was like trying to eat tasteless wallpaper. The plate was crammed with far too much crap. Tons of potatoes ( fried again without any salt, pepper or any type of seasoning) and shredded salad, which on the whole was at least edible. I think I ate three fork fulls and stopped. My stomach turned. We were polite, I paid the bill "with tip because I am not a jerk" for close to $100.00 that I would not serve to a dog. Beware this house of food horror is not for you. read more

I've gone maybe 1-2 times prior in college when a nearby Nick the Greek opened up near Cal State Fullerton opened up and they gave one gyro fry away per customer for free on their grand opening. It was a great marketing tactic for local college kids but unfortunately after that, I wasn't hooked just yet. When this spot opened up recently on 2nd Street, I always passed by but never pulled the trigger until I came earlier this year. Inside, its super spacious with high ceilings and plenty of seating. Their menu consists of pita sandwiches, salads, plates, bowls and more. My go-to is their beef/lamb gyro which is decently priced. It's the perfect to-go meal and affordable. It's a hefty meal too with sauce and fries. I've also ordered this online and it's ready in about 10-15 minutes. The young lady at the counter gave me a cup, and when I returned to the front table, some random guy--possibly the owner or manager--sarcastically said, "Hey, this is where the water station is." I've never gone wrong with the gyro coming here for the last two years since they opened. Tonight was about the chicken and it was crispy compared to the beefteki pita which is a bit more tender. The service has always been stellar from genuine kindness to helpfulness which is a top down affair. Fortunate to meet one of the owners, this review is at heels of eating a very sweet baklava the size of a slice of pie which I learned comes from their Florida headquarters. I love this place! Before it came, we had only one option of Greek food on the second street, and it was a restaurant in every sense of the word with prices to match. Food is so fresh which always matters but when you're getting a Greek rap with vegetables and falafel, the freshness is the most important thing. Service is cordial and simple and workers are expressing gratitude to the customers. I like the fact that it is on the corner with big open wall on each side of the street which especially helps not just for people watching when you eat but during the hot days. It's a big bright place and very clean. I do not find prices to be expensive for what you get. If you order combo with a wrap, french fries and drink it will be about $18, which these days is about right. I'm happy we have them in our community, very good place! We had the tahini crunch salad (I think that's what it was called), the prasini salad, a gyro, and the Mediterranean bowl, and the Gyro plate. All were delicious. The tahini crunch salad is great if you want a richer more flavorful salad. The prasini is lighter with a lemon refreshing dressing. I preferred the Gyro plate over the Mediterranean bowl.
