I love this place! Before it came, we had only one option of Greek food on the second street, and it was a restaurant in every sense of the word with prices to match. Food is so fresh which always matters but when you're getting a Greek rap with vegetables and falafel, the freshness is the most important thing. Service is cordial and simple and workers are expressing gratitude to the customers. I come here about once a month and spend my money despite the flies constantly hovering around, but today was the final straw. I ordered the Greek burger, and it was just okay. The young lady at the counter gave me a cup, and when I returned to the front table, some random guy--possibly the owner or manager--sarcastically said, "Hey, this is where the water station is." Either way, his approach was unnecessary. He doesn't know me or how much money I've spent at this establishment when there are plenty of other places on Second Street where I could eat. I also brought a friend who ordered a bowl, and they gave him only three pieces of chicken. I could have gone to The Window for a better burger or simply eaten at Luna Grill, but I chose to spend my money here. I've gone maybe 1-2 times prior in college when a nearby Nick the Greek opened up near Cal State Fullerton opened up and they gave one gyro fry away per customer for free on their grand opening. It was a great marketing tactic for local college kids but unfortunately after that, I wasn't hooked just yet. When this spot opened up recently on 2nd Street, I always passed by but never pulled the trigger until I came earlier this year. Inside, its super spacious with high ceilings and plenty of seating. Their menu consists of pita sandwiches, salads, plates, bowls and more. My go-to is their beef/lamb gyro which is decently priced. It's the perfect to-go meal and affordable. It's a hefty meal too with sauce and fries. I've also ordered this online and it's ready in about 10-15 minutes. I've never gone wrong with the gyro coming here for the last two years since they opened. Tonight was about the chicken and it was crispy compared to the beefteki pita which is a bit more tender. The service has always been stellar from genuine kindness to helpfulness which is a top down affair. Fortunate to meet one of the owners, this review is at heels of eating a very sweet baklava the size of a slice of pie which I learned comes from their Florida headquarters. My husband and I have been here 2 days in a row. We are always looking for a place to work on our computers. Both days we had lunch and dinner and it did not disappoint. The food is fresh and everyone who works here is so friendly. We had the tahini crunch salad (I think that's what it was called), the prasini salad, a gyro, and the Mediterranean bowl, and the Gyro plate. All were delicious. The tahini crunch salad is great if you want a richer more flavorful salad. The prasini is lighter with a lemon refreshing dressing. I preferred the Gyro plate over the Mediterranean bowl. Kenyan and Jeannie are the best! Their Greek frozen yogurt is soooo good. I prefer it on its own with a little honey vs having it with baklava. We will be back!
