I also know there's inflation but man, did it inflate! Generally, not bad for a quick craving fix but not my favorite location in terms on flavor. Not as consistent to other locations I have tried. It was my first time visiting Zankou Chicken at this location, and it was such a great experience. The restaurant was clean, though pretty packed for a Thursday night. I came in to redeem my birthday reward, which was a free bowl and went with the chicken tarna bowl, half rice and half lettuce. I'm really glad I tried it this way because the lettuce is actually more of a Greek salad, which added a lot more flavor and texture to the dish. The chicken tarna itself was flavorful with a nice char, which I loved, though it was a bit on the dry side. I topped it with tzatziki and cucumber salad, and chose garlic sauce and tahini on the side. Everything paired really well together and made the dish really tasty. Customer service stood out here. It was toward the end of the lunch rush so there were a few dirty tables making it leass inviting to eat your food inside. There should be at least one person that goes around to clean tables, especially as guests leave. I didnt have to wait long for my food (to go order). I'm very familiar with Zankou Chicken as I used to eat it all the time when I lived in the Pasadena area. I'm happy that they brought this location to Long Beach near Long Beach Airport on Willow and Lakewood Blvd. Zankou serves mediterranean food and their shish kabobs are great, but I crave their delicious chicken dishes with their addictive garlic sauce. I typically like to get any of their chicken thigh dishes. It's also hard to pass up their family meal for $30 for a rotisserie chicken and all the sides. If I want a lighter meal, then I'll get a tarna wrap in pita (chicken thigh), which comes loaded with their addictive garlic sauce (toum) and hummus. Today, in lieu of getting the wrap, I went with their "combo kebab" plate, which had two kebabs, salad, hummus, and pita for $20. For my kebabs, I went with chicken and steak. The kebabs are made to order and I feel that it's a great value compared to the wrap because you get more meat and you get a bunch of delicious extras (rice, salad, sauces, etc). The food here is delicious. I might consider going elsewhere for kebabs if I want lamb (which they don't serve) or steak (which they do serve); however you really can't go wrong with their chicken and addictive sauces. read more

Two complimentary garlic sauce with a meal. $38.00 total price. The food here is always good. So, that's why they ended up with a 3. But today, this place was a mess. I ended up using napkins and hand sanitizer I wipe down our tables. The floors were filthy. I never had a bowl like this before with so many flavors. The chicken is carved straight off the big spinning spit, tender with little charred edges, sitting on top of buttery rice with creamy hummus, feta, kalamata olives, cucumber tomato salad, and a hit of cilantro. The chicken was slightly dry in spots but everything else made up for it, and the garlic sauce tied it all together. Let me tell you the amount of food is insane and so good. Everyone loved it. Now here's where I was thrown off. I was like oh cool it comes with a tray of falafel lemme try one.
