Sticker left in my costly cucumber salad
    Sylvia C.

I have been a fan of Zankou chicken for decades. Literally at least 2 decades. I was excited that one opened in LB since i head that way for work at times. Its been awhile since I had it as it's usually not any around me. I realized the flavor is a bit different from the Pasadena location where I had my first zankou visit decades ago. I also know there's inflation but man, did it inflate! Generally, not bad for a quick craving fix but not my favorite location in terms on flavor. Not as consistent to other locations I have tried. Will still come back if craving it though. However probably not as much if they don't clean the veggies. As I found the "made in mexico sticker" still left on a piece of tomato in my very costly cucumber salad. A bit disappointed by that and wondering how well they clean the raw veggies. Other than that, I will say their service has always been great but the parking is small and always gets super packed.

My first time trying it I pass by it so often Portion size is huge and they also have rotisserie chicken. It was a bit salty for me. A lot of food for the price. I ordered me a large tub of hummus to take home also. Seems my favorite food choice lately is Mediterranean food. Will come back try other items. The workers were nice.

It was my first time visiting Zankou Chicken at this location, and it was such a great experience. The restaurant was clean, though pretty packed for a Thursday night. I came in to redeem my birthday reward, which was a free bowl and went with the chicken tarna bowl, half rice and half lettuce. I'm really glad I tried it this way because the lettuce is actually more of a Greek salad, which added a lot more flavor and texture to the dish. The chicken tarna itself was flavorful with a nice char, which I loved, though it was a bit on the dry side. I topped it with tzatziki and cucumber salad, and chose garlic sauce and tahini on the side. Everything paired really well together and made the dish really tasty. Customer service stood out here. I ordered online, and since they were running behind during the dinner rush, they offered me a free drink and pita chips without me even asking. That kind of gesture goes a long way. Overall, I had a great first visit. I'd come back again.

Placed an order online for me to pickup after work for my son and I to share for dinner. Went in around 6:20pm on a Tuesday, and it was busy but not too busy. I don't have a picture of the bag with the label of my order, but everything was checked off. Did not get the harissa, tahini or utensils, so that was annoying to find out once I got home. Everything tasted good when I got home though, so it wasn't too bad. Definitely a good amount for the double portion of shawerma.

Great food and excellent service! The staff member was very patient as we decided our food and side orders. Then we totally forgot to order drinks! She took good care of us! I have ordered the chicken (1/2 or 1/4) but not the Shawarma plates. We ordered a Tri-Tip and a Chicken plate. Fresh, warm pitas with that garlic sauce, so good! Side salads are great! Portions are generous! We dined in vs our usual.take out. Plenty of seating if you choose to dine in. We went early so parking was not an issue. It can be a bit challenging as it shares a lot with another fast food restaurant.

Great place to come when you need something quick healthy and delicious. Customer service is amazing here. Definitely recommend for anyone to come. Definitely try their balls with Shawarma. It is the best. Also try the cabbage salad. The ambience is amazing friendly .

One more pick up at Zankou Chicken. I placed my order on the app. I arrived and everything was ready. Tasty food that hits the spot, lively atmosphere, everyone is always so friendly. I've been eating at Zankou Chicken since the 90s. I don't think I've ever had a poor experience and I don't think I ever will. I Highly recommend it.

Customer service is awful, workers are shouting vulgar comments, not one smile, the raps are like baby burritos i spent 30$ on nothing. I had to go to jack in the box next door to make a full meal of this.

Back to this place lazy to cook, i bought fattoush salad!!! Amazing!!! Best salad I've ever eaten. Good price. I didn't add any protein. However you may add it for additional fee. The dressing!!! The dressing!!!

After driving by this place several times I finally gave it a shot. Super simple and clean layout, staff is on point and service is excellent. The shawarma was so good I was upset when I got to the last bite. Cucumber salad was tasty and refreshing. Honestly I don't have any complaints and will be back again.

Because it's a pre-set bowl, it already has a set base, protein, toppings, and dressing. As I was watching them make it, I noticed they only out 2 falafels in the bow the size of these falafels we so small, and for such a big bowl?! The guy serving me down the line was either ignoring me or couldn't hear me because I kept calling him, trying to get his attention! One we got towards the end of the line was was he decided to look up and I asked him if I could have 1 more falafel. He put it in then closed my bowl. I also noticed they put such little dressing. I asked the cashier if he or the other guy (last) in the line if I could have more dressing in a small container or on the side. They just opened my bowl and squeezed a ton of dressing in my bowl. Luckily it wasn't one of those wet dressings, otherwise by the time I would have gotten to my food at home, it would have been soggy! My husband ordered a side of steak. When looked at my receipt, they charged me $8+ for the small side of steak they gave to me! My husband said in the menu it said $3!!! I feel like the service was definitely lagging here. NOTE: NEEDS TO IMPROVE ON SERVICE! The ambiance is cool. Nice place to eat and enjoy your food. But with how long the wait is, I wouldn't sit near the end as there's so many people so close to you as you eat, just my opinion. That first experience is what made me come back. On my second visit, I ordered the same salad with chicken and lamb because I wanted that same experience again. When I got back to work, I realized the chicken was missing. I did not complain because I still had the lamb and the rest of the salad, and I understand that mistakes happen. Still, it was disappointing because I specifically came back wanting the same complete meal I had the first time. On my third visit, I drove from Gardena to Signal Hill specifically for that salad. After driving back to Gardena, I realized there was no dressing in the bag. I called the restaurant and explained what happened. I was told, "I'm sorry." At first I accepted that, but then I thought, what am I supposed to do with a salad with no dressing? I called back because I wanted to know what could be done. I was told that if I wanted my money back, I would have to bring the salad back to the restaurant. That meant after already driving from Gardena to Signal Hill and back, I was expected to make another trip because of something the restaurant forgot. When I explained that I was disappointed with how the situation was being handled and that I planned to leave a review, the woman on the phone responded, "All this for a dressing?" That comment bothered me more than the original mistake. Yes, it was dressing, but that misses the point. This was already the second time something had been left out of my order. The first time, I let it go. This time, the missing item affected the whole meal. What I would have appreciated was simple customer service. Acknowledge the inconvenience and make an effort to keep the customer. Something as simple as, "We apologize. Unfortunately, we cannot refund you without the food being returned, but on your next visit we will make sure we take care of you," would have completely changed the experience. Even offering a drink next time or simply saying they appreciated my business would have shown that they cared. I also tipped on my takeout order because I believe a tip is a way of showing appreciation for good service and attention to detail. I understand that a tip does not guarantee perfection, but it was disappointing to tip and still receive an incomplete order. There was also something I observed during this visit that concerned me. Someone spilled a drink, and one of the cooks helped clean it up. He wiped the floor while wearing gloves and, from what I could see, appeared to keep the same gloves on when returning to food preparation. That made me uncomfortable. I would have expected the gloves to be changed before handling food again. To be fair, the restaurant itself looks clean, organized, and well maintained. The tables, chairs, counters, and furniture appear to be in good condition. That is one of the reasons I kept giving this place another chance. I wanted to like Pita Pitaki. After my first visit, I thought it might become one of my go to places. Unfortunately, I never really got that same full experience again. My first visit was good. My second visit was missing the chicken. My third visit was missing the dressing, followed by customer service that made me feel like my concern did not matter. You can have good food and a clean restaurant, but customer service still matters. Sometimes how a business handles a mistake matters more than the mistake itself. My advice for anyone ordering takeout here is simple. Double check your order before you leave. Open the bag and make sure you have everything, especially meats, sauces, and dressing. Unfortunately, after giving this place several chances, it is no longer one of my go to spots.

The place feels more like a casual deli spot -- you order at the counter and there are a few tables if you want to sit and eat. The space looked clean and simple, nothing fancy but comfortable enough. The employee working there was very friendly. He came out from the back, answered my questions, and recommended the chicken pesto panini, saying it's their most popular item. I also added a Caesar salad for $2.99, which I thought was a fair price, and decided to try the bread pudding as well. The panini itself was pretty good. The bread was nicely toasted, the cheese was melted well, and the pesto had good flavor. The only downside for me was the chicken -- it seemed like it might have been boiled and then mixed with pesto. It was a bit tougher than I would have liked. The Caesar salad was decent for the price. Unfortunately, the bread pudding didn't work for me. It was very dense and almost brick-like. Overall, the value is there and the staff was very nice. For me personally, the food felt a bit average. I tend to prefer paying a little more for higher quality rather than saving a few dollars on something that doesn't quite hit the mark. Because of that, I probably wouldn't go back, but others might appreciate the price point and friendly service. Food 3 stars. Staff 5 average 4

We noticed the parties that were here before us still did not get their food either. Luckily, we were not in a rush to get back to work that day. The food was not bad for imitation meat. I especially enjoyed the fries with the vegan aioli. I also liked the crunchy crust of the mock fried chicken. I was a little bit disappointed in the service because our server never came in to check on us. Our glasses were empty, and we needed refills, but she was nowhere to be found. This place wasn't too bad. I can't say I eat at a lot of vegan restaurants and am not a vegan myself, but I thought the food was great for a vegan restaurant. The issue was the lack of service. I wouldn't come here to dine in again, especially if I was on a time crunch. I may consider getting take out in the future, depending on how long that would take.

I ordered ahead as I was in a bit of a rush and thankfully they were very quick at preparing my food! They also didn't compromise on the quality in doing so! I managed to find a spot on the adjacent side street and was greeted as soon as I entered. The ambiance of the restaurant was bright and colorful with plenty of cozy seating both inside and outside. They also had a pastry case filled with some drool worthy cakes. The friendly employee quickly found my order. The menu was vast but I ordered an indulgent chocolate crepe, as I was craving something sweet and light. The crepe had a lovely pillowy texture and was so heavenly, both the chocolate sauce and chocolate mousse were so rich and decadent and had me wanting more! I loved the freshness, sweetness and juiciness of the berries! The coconut whipped cream really took it over the top and added a nice airiness. Their crepes are must haves and I'm dying to try more of them! I will definitely be back soon to this location or one of their other conveniently located ones!

Yum yum yum!…read more Scrumptious vegan veggie crepe and crunchy hash browns. Hit the spot! They have a wide selection of creative and interesting vegan options for breakfast and lunch. Their desserts look divine! Can't wait to return to try. Cute corner cafe on a busy corner. Parking can be tricky. You can order ahead to go or dine in. I usually like to park on a nearby side street then still over. Again, it's a busy road so use caution while crossing.
