The Wild Chive has become one of our new favorite places, now that we have relocated to Long Beach. We have been here twice, and each time we've raved over the food - this time around we got to try the famed Monte Cristo, along with the Country Breakfast. Excellent service from Kess (sp?) both times, and we love that The Wild Chive is dog-friendly as well. We've been able to find street parking easily, and a stroll to Bluff Park after brunch is the new routine. Highly recommended!

My son and his girlfriend who is Vegan were I. Town for the weekend so we went to this Vevan spot for Sunday brunch. This is great place for Sunday brunch! It has a very cool vibe and is in a great open space. Our server was very friendly and provided good service, but we had to follow up a few times on things we asked for and didn't receive. The food was great! I had the BLT and my wife had the cheese steak. We also ordered the cornbread waffles to share. The sandwiches were very filling, flavorful and did not leave me wanting meat at all. However the waffles were the star. They were so delicious and interesting. I would go back just for the waffles and I am not a big waffle guy. This is a great spot in the LBC.

I have been wanting to come here for years after I heard about their amazing weekend brunch and thankfully, I found myself in the area last Sunday! Sadly, they are only open two days a week for only 5 hours each day, which makes it a bit hard to visit! Nevertheless, it was well worth the drive from Los Angeles! I was able to find parking on the side street right by the restaurant and parking seemed plentiful in the area. There is a gorgeous patio on the street, but I opted to dine inside to stay out of the sun. I was greeted by the very friendly staff upon arrival and they were quick to take my order. I opted for the pancakes, as I was in the mood for something sweet. The pancakes were very delicious and very pillowy. I loved the fruit and coconut whipped cream, which added an extra decadence to the meal. The pancakes were pretty light and while they were filling, it didn't feel heavy in my stomach. The other food I saw being brought out looked equally delicious. The vibes inside were very fun and vibrant and I felt great eating there. The restaurant was spacious but at the same time still felt cozy. The seating was very comfortable and relaxing. The staff checked on me frequently and were very helpful and personable. Payment is by cash, Zelle and Venmo so be sure to have one of those handy! The restaurant is also steps away from the beach and a walkway, so a perfect way to burn off the food after you eat! I hope to return the next time I'm in Long Beach!

Lovely, welcoming ambiance and cool ocean breeze. My wife & I split the breakfast burrito and it was one of the best ones I've ever had. Incredibly delicious with layered flavors and a fantastic texture added by the thinly sliced Yukon potatoes. Service was super friendly and fast! I'm just sad I didn't have enough room to try something else. We will definitely be back the next time we're in Log Beach.

We used to get the vegan Monte Cristo and other delights when The Wild Chive (vegan) was a pop-up at the LB Farmers Market (years ago). This was our first time getting to visit their brick-and-mortar spot. Wow! Such a fun interior (disco balls are always a win!) and lots of seating inside as well as some shaded tables outside. The playlist was great! Before we left I went inside to ask about the playlist . They were so great to share it with me! The large kitchen window just adds to the cool interior. We were at Mangiafoglie (another vegan/plant-based restaurant) last night for dinner and saw a poster advertising Long Beach Food Scene Week. As soon as I saw that Wild Chive was advertising a Carne Asada Banh Mi (freshly-baked baguette, pickled carrots, sriracha, cilantro, Fresno chiles, crispy fried shallots, and house-made cilantro-lime aioli + a side salad) I knew that the MR. would want to go there for lunch. This was def the best Bahn Mi that he has ever had! I opted for something a with a little less spice! Oat Milk Berry Pancakes for me! Two fluffy oat milk, blueberry pancakes, topped with fresh strawberries, coco-whip, and dusted with powdered sugar. House-made vegan butter and maple syrup served on the side. Everyone working there was so friendly and had positive vibes!

Loved the vibe of this vegan place! Went here with a couple friends when we were visiting the area on a Saturday for lunch and it wasn't too busy. I shared zucchini bites and pickle fries with friends, and my partner and I shared the crispy chicken sandwich. I also got a Jamaica agua fresca which was really refreshing. Service was great as well.

Highly HIGHLY recommended - look no further if you're in Long Beach area or, tbh, southern California in general... it's truuuly THAT outstanding. Ambience: pretty much perfection, not too loud, gentle breezy (literally - it's near the bluffs overlooking the ocean in LB ), easy parking, never waited more than 10min at any time of day. The Staff: (( always.always )) on point, chef skills are otherworldly and I've enjoyed exactly EACH AND EVERY meal I've had here. So, g'head & stop whatever you're doing rn and *go.to.here* ASAP - you'// be so glad you did!

We went last weekend, and Kes gave us excellent service. I ordered a burrizo, which was spiced well. As a carnivore, I thoroughly enjoyed it, which was a gentle surprise. I loved the rainbow flags. Great way to start June. Beautiful ambiance.

Food was very delicious and I will come back again to try something different. The mushroom sandwich was very meaty tasting and seasoned great with some delicious homemade bread. The soju-Rita was also very delicious and a great price at $9. My negatives were the service. It was sooo slow!!! They asked if I wanted ketchup with my fries but then never brought it. Unless you flag someone down you won't be helped. The music was also so loud you can't carry a conversation even outside. The seating was also uncomfortable, the bench was straight up at a 90 degree angle and the boards were uneven to sit on.

    Delicious burrizo!
    Christina C.

I've had this spot bookmarked for a few years and I'm mad that I waited so long to try it. The brunch menu was simple and easy to choose from, which I appreciated. The country breakfast and the burizzo were both delicious. I expected them to taste similar, but they both had their own unique flavor profile. The texture on the burizzo tortilla was perfection. Areli gave us great recommendations and fast service. She and another lass helped us get rid of some frustrating hiccups. They tried scaring tactics, mental games and finally a shot of hot sauce, which did the trick. They went above and beyond and made The Wild Chive a new favorite Long Beach spot. The sidewalk seating was very relaxing and dog friendly , very appreciated as well. It's all street parking, but it wasn't that hard to find a spot even on a Saturday at noon. Clean restrooms too!

I'm always on the lookout for a good brunch spot, and The Wild Chive totally delivered. The vibe is unmatched--great music, a friendly and diverse staff, and a menu full of affordable, flavorful vegan dishes. Their to-go cafe serves amazing coffee, and the space is super inclusive: dog-friendly, LGBTQ+ friendly, and proudly POC & women-owned. Street parking is available nearby, so getting there is a breeze. My only negative? I wish they were open more often because they're that good! I think they rotate their menu, too--last time I went, I tried their Monte Cristo sandwich, but it wasn't on the menu this time. Still, I'm already looking forward to going back! Food: don't know that vegan food can taste so good!! I love the grilled burizzo, crispy zucchini bites and the French toast!! My top 3. Service: was great!! Staff are very friendly and attentive!! Ambiance: very unique with its mural on the ways with a twist of modern, yet with political view.

Is the Monte Cristo coming back? I drive from Marina del Rey to get it, though keep seeing it off the menu. Please keep it permanently 🙏🏽

Late reply, but as of August 2026, the Monte Cristo is back on their menu!

Will the gluten free waffle that can replace things and make more than one dish be gluten free ever come back?

Hi Jade, It will be making a come back this fall/winter. Thank you!

They have changed their reservation policy multiple times since the brick and mortar opened. And now their phone number doesn't seem to work. Does anyone know if we need a reservation or if they accept walk ins?

Hi there, Reservations are still required on the weekends as it is our busiest hours of the week.…

    Are dogs allowed?

Yes, there were a couple diners with [well behaved] dogs in the restaurant when I was there.

    Is there outdoor dining available?

They have some outdoor tables but it's limited.

Are there any regular gluten free options?

Yes! They a lot! My favorite is the wafflelito, the waffles are made out of corn! So good!!!

Since they don't have dine-in is there anywhere nearby to sit and eat?

It's a short walk to both Bixby Park and the Bluff.

Where can I get their food?????? ive been trying for a year

They used to be at the Long Beach Marina farmers market. They're opening up a brick and mortar in Feb. sometime. Check their IG to keep updated.

Does the restaurant use nuts at all for dishes ? If so, are they careful to accommodate someone who has nut allergies (including dairy and egg)? Thanks!?

Hello, some of our dishes do contain nuts, however we are very careful. Please note that our kitchen processes nuts and cross-contamination may still occur from shared kitchen equipment. If you have an extreme allergy, please let our manager know so…

    Is this strictly vegan?

Yes, our menu is 100% plant-based. Hope this helps!

Now that they've moved to the farmers market is there still seating or it more like a stand?

Its more like a stand, though there is shared seating with the other vendors

Can you get a cocktail with brunch?

    Now they do!

Are there any gluten free options?

Yes! The Chili Waffleito on their breakfast menu, as well as the Bahn Mi Bowl and We Heart Palm Tacos on their dinner menu are fully gluten free.

Hi I know this is a pop up, but is there a certain date when it's no longer there?

They are there every Sunday morning from 9am-2pm and Thursday evenings after 5pm. Follow them on IG for their current hours and specials!

    Hi! What's the address?

It's a pop-up so there's no permanent address. As of November 2017, brunch is 9am-3pm on Sundays at MADE by Millworks on Pine downtown. 240 Pine Ave, Long Beach 90802

They had a notable buttery taste to them which was rich and pleasant. I believe they were coated with a cornflake cereal which gave them a proper crunch. When I entered there were already 3 other groups seated. I didn't realize until after I ordered at the kiosk (there is no wait staff) that no one had any food. We ordered the Caesar salad & wrap as well as fries and a cookie. It took about 30 to 40 minutes for the first salad to arrive and about 15 minutes after that for the wrap which was made with ingredients we had asked to omit. Weirdly, the wrap came with avocado slices on the side instead of inside of the wrap which was very strange. The French fries came a few minutes after the wrap and they had the consistency of a wet noodle covered in oil with little to no seasoning. The salad and wrap were OK taste-wise but I could have easily made a better salad at home. The fried chicken that comes with it was mushy and served cold. The cookie was fine, good large size and a lot of chocolate chips which was nice. But again, I could have made myself a better cookie at home. Ultimately I'd rather have saved the money and stayed home.

Firstly, since it's all plant-based, I was able to eat literally anything off the menu, which is always delightful. Started the meal with a Tricolore Salad and the Pizza Montanara for appetizers. The Salad was good, best when you can get a bit of every ingredient in each bite. The Pizza Montanara was hotter than magma when we received it, but once it cooled and we were able to tear it into pieces, it was very, very good. These two items themselves would be a great light meal. We had glasses of red wine with the main course, which paired well with the pastas we chose. One Vesuvio, which was really tasty with a little chili heat (not so much so that it made eating it a rough job,) and another pasta dish that I can't recall the name of that was very lemony and cooling. We both shared these dishes and the alternating between the two very different flavor profiles was really fun. The online menu doesn't have these pastas listed in the "Dinner" section, but the in-store menu did. The only thing that was kind of a bummer was that they were out of things like meatballs, olives, and a couple other items, but we were still able to choose dishes that were delicious. The restaurant's vibe is very laidback and like, elevated casual, if that makes sense. They have great little water glasses and everything has a modern feel, from the green decor accents to the fancy pasta forks, which are the first of their kind I've ever seen. The bathroom had a bidet, which was my first experience with the same, and it was cool and fun. Thorough! I laughed at the sticker on the bidet saying it WILL spray you in the face. All in all, this was a fantastic experience. Definitely be patient with finding parking, as we all know how 4th Street is. This will likely become a favorite celebration meal destination.

If you're looking for a quieter meal, this may not be the best night to visit. The food itself was good, but the wait was much longer than expected. We waited almost 40 minutes for our order. Unfortunately, my burger was also made incorrectly. I ordered the Bacon Bleu Burger but was served a different burger instead. Not quite sure what it was, but it had mushrooms and American cheese. Since we had already waited so long, I decided to just eat it rather than send it back. The burgers were flavorful, but they were smaller than I expected for the price, and they don't come with fries. To round out my meal, I ordered the poutine fries. They were decent. The fries were nice and crispy, which I appreciated. My husband ordered the Burger Don Chendo, and that ended up being the standout of the night. I usually don't like spicy food, but this burger had just the right amount of heat without being overwhelming. Overall, the food was enjoyable, but between the long wait, the incorrect order, and the portion size for the price, the experience was a bit hit-or-miss. I'd be willing to give them another try, especially for the Don Chendo burger, but I'm hoping for a smoother experience next time.

The crepe had a lovely pillowy texture and was so heavenly, both the chocolate sauce and chocolate mousse were so rich and decadent and had me wanting more! I loved the freshness, sweetness and juiciness of the berries! The coconut whipped cream really took it over the top and added a nice airiness. Their crepes are must haves and I'm dying to try more of them! I will definitely be back soon to this location or one of their other conveniently located ones!

Yum yum yum!…read more Scrumptious vegan veggie crepe and crunchy hash browns. Hit the spot! They have a wide selection of creative and interesting vegan options for breakfast and lunch. Their desserts look divine! Can't wait to return to try. Cute corner cafe on a busy corner. Parking can be tricky. You can order ahead to go or dine in. I usually like to park on a nearby side street then still over. Again, it's a busy road so use caution while crossing.

Just as good as last time. Again, the cheese on the pizza wasn't weird like vegan cheeses usually are for me. I placed the order on phone and went to pick up for a faster service. The price of their pizzas are great as well. Surprisingly, not all their pizzas are vegan, so might want to be careful with that.

I have had nothing but great experiences and good service here. I've been coming here for years,…read moreand patron this business. We always make a drive out here to get their food. By all means not here to sh*t on the business because we still want to come here to support them. However, last Saturday I believe was the 5/23/26, they had an event and an artist guest came and performed for the guests. It was nice, but it was also very packed in there with people out the door. We snuck through the back just to get in, people standing and blocking traffic because there was no room and space. We had to wait in a small crammed isle area towards the bathroom. It took awhile for our simple togo order to get done--which was also mistakenly given to someone else. They couldn't figure out simple logistics. There were also others who got wrong orders while we stood there waiting. They had to re-make people's pizzas while the pizza had to be given away for free because it had already been touched. My gripe is that in the future, if you're having an event, (maybe they do this here all the time), please have a floor manager to alleviate the crowd and simple operations and logistics to handle the lines, the crowd control, and providing fast and accurate service. Not just making the food right, but with time, and a comfortable environment. They could have made it more. It was so busy, that they either looked to be short-staffed or got confused on a lot of their orders. In short, in the future their manager should do better in operations and executing the the transactions to flow more smoothly. If you're having a guest performer, find a way to also make that work better. Maybe make people not block the pathways, more chairs or seating outside, have a bigger venue or open some areas to fit better..maybe they like this intimate atmosphere but it did not work for half of the guests there just trying to get in and out. This review is not to burn the spot but to encourage them do better in the future. This is just to help them understand and hopefully this helps to provide constructive feedback..because I know the owner here reads a lot of these comments..

Restaurant is packed, so place resos if possible. Food here is absolutely delicious. Notable dishes for me are the Pad See Ew with the giant shrimp and the Salmon Larb. Pad See ew had such a good wok fry essence. So flavorful, and perfect blend of savory and slight sweetness. Chinese broccoli nicely wok fried. The shrimp was jumbo and so succulent. Salmon Larb was perfectly cooked with fried cubes of juicy flavorful salmon. Tossed in fresh mint, cilantro, scallions, a ton of fresh lime juice, chili flakes, red onions and lettuce. The toasted rice powder was definitely apparent as every Larb dish should have. Slightly different take of Larb, bit more modernized and tweaked cause definitely a salad with the lettuce versus served with the cabbage and cucumber on the side. I don't think you can go wrong with what you order. Definitely fusion of authentic with a modernized American feel. Cocktails were excellent and recommend their Tamarind Spicy drink, don't remember the name but it was so good. Unfortunately no photos cause we weee hungry and just cleared out the food as it came out. Service is straight forward. We got what we needed with a bit wait due to the fact the place is BUSY!
