Country Breakfast w/ Habanero

I finally made it to LB for the Wild Chive brunch! Great location near the beach. You can visit the museum or take a walk after. I got the Country Breakfast. It was really good, the potatoes had a thin slice as compared to a country potato. I smashed the plate and left nothing behind. I asked for some really spicy hot sauce and I got this great habanero sauce that was really flavorful and equally spicy. Always great to add another vegan brunch option to the game plan. Looking forward to coming back and trying the rest of the menu.

My son and his girlfriend who is Vegan were I. Town for the weekend so we went to this Vevan spot for Sunday brunch. This is great place for Sunday brunch! It has a very cool vibe and is in a great open space. Our server was very friendly and provided good service, but we had to follow up a few times on things we asked for and didn't receive. The food was great! I had the BLT and my wife had the cheese steak. We also ordered the cornbread waffles to share. The sandwiches were very filling, flavorful and did not leave me wanting meat at all. However the waffles were the star. They were so delicious and interesting. I would go back just for the waffles and I am not a big waffle guy. This is a great spot in the LBC.

Love this place! Been coming here for years. Really can't find anything quite like it in California. If you are looking for southern style vegan hearty breakfast in the bustling vibrant heart of Long Beach this is your spot! Service is always quick and food comes out relatively quickly for being freshly made! Texas boy approved!

I have been wanting to come here for years after I heard about their amazing weekend brunch and thankfully, I found myself in the area last Sunday! Sadly, they are only open two days a week for only 5 hours each day, which makes it a bit hard to visit! Nevertheless, it was well worth the drive from Los Angeles! I was able to find parking on the side street right by the restaurant and parking seemed plentiful in the area. There is a gorgeous patio on the street, but I opted to dine inside to stay out of the sun. I was greeted by the very friendly staff upon arrival and they were quick to take my order. I opted for the pancakes, as I was in the mood for something sweet. The pancakes were very delicious and very pillowy. I loved the fruit and coconut whipped cream, which added an extra decadence to the meal. The pancakes were pretty light and while they were filling, it didn't feel heavy in my stomach. The other food I saw being brought out looked equally delicious. The vibes inside were very fun and vibrant and I felt great eating there. The restaurant was spacious but at the same time still felt cozy. The seating was very comfortable and relaxing. The staff checked on me frequently and were very helpful and personable. Payment is by cash, Zelle and Venmo so be sure to have one of those handy! The restaurant is also steps away from the beach and a walkway, so a perfect way to burn off the food after you eat! I hope to return the next time I'm in Long Beach!

The Wild Chive has become one of our new favorite places, now that we have relocated to Long Beach. We have been here twice, and each time we've raved over the food - this time around we got to try the famed Monte Cristo, along with the Country Breakfast. Excellent service from Kess (sp?) both times, and we love that The Wild Chive is dog-friendly as well. We've been able to find street parking easily, and a stroll to Bluff Park after brunch is the new routine. Highly recommended!

Lovely, welcoming ambiance and cool ocean breeze. My wife & I split the breakfast burrito and it was one of the best ones I've ever had. Incredibly delicious with layered flavors and a fantastic texture added by the thinly sliced Yukon potatoes. Service was super friendly and fast! I'm just sad I didn't have enough room to try something else. We will definitely be back the next time we're in Log Beach.

We used to get the vegan Monte Cristo and other delights when The Wild Chive (vegan) was a pop-up at the LB Farmers Market (years ago). This was our first time getting to visit their brick-and-mortar spot. Wow! Such a fun interior (disco balls are always a win!) and lots of seating inside as well as some shaded tables outside. The playlist was great! Before we left I went inside to ask about the playlist . They were so great to share it with me! The large kitchen window just adds to the cool interior. We were at Mangiafoglie (another vegan/plant-based restaurant) last night for dinner and saw a poster advertising Long Beach Food Scene Week. As soon as I saw that Wild Chive was advertising a Carne Asada Banh Mi (freshly-baked baguette, pickled carrots, sriracha, cilantro, Fresno chiles, crispy fried shallots, and house-made cilantro-lime aioli + a side salad) I knew that the MR. would want to go there for lunch. This was def the best Bahn Mi that he has ever had! I opted for something a with a little less spice! Oat Milk Berry Pancakes for me! Two fluffy oat milk, blueberry pancakes, topped with fresh strawberries, coco-whip, and dusted with powdered sugar. House-made vegan butter and maple syrup served on the side. Everyone working there was so friendly and had positive vibes!

Loved the vibe of this vegan place! Went here with a couple friends when we were visiting the area on a Saturday for lunch and it wasn't too busy. I shared zucchini bites and pickle fries with friends, and my partner and I shared the crispy chicken sandwich. I also got a Jamaica agua fresca which was really refreshing. Service was great as well.

Highly HIGHLY recommended - look no further if you're in Long Beach area or, tbh, southern California in general... it's truuuly THAT outstanding. Ambience: pretty much perfection, not too loud, gentle breezy (literally - it's near the bluffs overlooking the ocean in LB ), easy parking, never waited more than 10min at any time of day. The Staff: (( always.always )) on point, chef skills are otherworldly and I've enjoyed exactly EACH AND EVERY meal I've had here. So, g'head & stop whatever you're doing rn and *go.to.here* ASAP - you'// be so glad you did!

Burrizo with fries
Lindy K.

We went last weekend, and Kes gave us excellent service. I ordered a burrizo, which was spiced well. As a carnivore, I thoroughly enjoyed it, which was a gentle surprise. I loved the rainbow flags. Great way to start June. Beautiful ambiance.

Jill L.

Food was very delicious and I will come back again to try something different. The mushroom sandwich was very meaty tasting and seasoned great with some delicious homemade bread. The soju-Rita was also very delicious and a great price at $9. My negatives were the service. It was sooo slow!!! They asked if I wanted ketchup with my fries but then never brought it. Unless you flag someone down you won't be helped. The music was also so loud you can't carry a conversation even outside. The seating was also uncomfortable, the bench was straight up at a 90 degree angle and the boards were uneven to sit on.

Delicious burrizo!

Are there soy free options?

Unfortunately, soy free options are limited.

Is the Monte Cristo coming back? I drive from Marina del Rey to get it, though keep seeing it off the menu. Please keep it permanently 🙏🏽

Late reply, but as of August 2026, the Monte Cristo is back on their menu!

Will the gluten free waffle that can replace things and make more than one dish be gluten free ever come back?

Hi Jade, It will be making a come back this fall/winter. Thank you!

They have changed their reservation policy multiple times since the brick and mortar opened. And now their phone number doesn't seem to work. Does anyone know if we need a reservation or if they accept walk ins?

Hi there, Reservations are still required on the weekends as it is our busiest hours of the week.…

Are dogs allowed?

Yes, there were a couple diners with [well behaved] dogs in the restaurant when I was there.

Is there outdoor dining available?

They have some outdoor tables but it's limited.

Are there any regular gluten free options?

Yes! They a lot! My favorite is the wafflelito, the waffles are made out of corn! So good!!!

Since they don't have dine-in is there anywhere nearby to sit and eat?

It's a short walk to both Bixby Park and the Bluff.

Where can I get their food?????? ive been trying for a year

They used to be at the Long Beach Marina farmers market. They're opening up a brick and mortar in Feb. sometime. Check their IG to keep updated.

Does the restaurant use nuts at all for dishes ? If so, are they careful to accommodate someone who has nut allergies (including dairy and egg)? Thanks!?

Hello, some of our dishes do contain nuts, however we are very careful. Please note that our kitchen processes nuts and cross-contamination may still occur from shared kitchen equipment. If you have an extreme allergy, please let our manager know so…

Is this strictly vegan?

Yes, our menu is 100% plant-based. Hope this helps!

Now that they've moved to the farmers market is there still seating or it more like a stand?

Its more like a stand, though there is shared seating with the other vendors

Can you get a cocktail with brunch?

Now they do!

Are there any gluten free options?

Yes! The Chili Waffleito on their breakfast menu, as well as the Bahn Mi Bowl and We Heart Palm Tacos on their dinner menu are fully gluten free.

Hi I know this is a pop up, but is there a certain date when it's no longer there?

They are there every Sunday morning from 9am-2pm and Thursday evenings after 5pm. Follow them on IG for their current hours and specials!

Hi! What's the address?

It's a pop-up so there's no permanent address. As of November 2017, brunch is 9am-3pm on Sundays at MADE by Millworks on Pine downtown. 240 Pine Ave, Long Beach 90802

Parking is metered and was easy the find. There was plenty of it right in front of the restaurant. You get the first 15 min for free. I added some coins in order to get more time but it did not work and would not go beyond the 15 min. I tried another parking spot but it was the same. So, i lost a couple of coins and i ended up parking right in front of the restaurant to keep an eye out for the parking police. And every so often, i would step out to reset the free 15 min. So, in the process, i got free parking but it wasn't convenient. I later realized that there was a parking lot across the street that uses one of the park apps. The restaurant is located on a tree lined street with side walk tables under string lighting. There was a chalkboard menu at the entrance showing what looked like their daily specials. The interior was very cozy, warm and inviting with low comfortable lighting. There were framed pictures of Parisian landmarks and some vintage-style accents. The interior seating is laid out with close-set tables. One corner of the restaurant has a couple of comfortable couches and a coffee table. Overall, it had a very distinct Parisian café vibe and feel. The menu is varied and authentic. It truly offers something for everyone. From house specialties, to omelettes to crepes to waffles, salads, quiches, sandwiches and much more. They also have a great wine list, beer and cocktails. Please see the full menu in the pictures. I had the filet mignon hash which is pieces of filet mignon, 2 eggs sunny side up, bell pepper, onions and avocados. The meat was tender and tasty. It paired really well with all the other ingredients. I really loved my plate. My father had the steak/frites and my mother had the soup and sandwich combo. She picked the Smoked salmon sandwich and the french onion soup. Everyone loved their dishes. For dessert, that day they had the Mousse au chocolat. Possibly my favorite dessert of all times. It was absolutely exquisite. Light, creamy with the perfect amount of sweetness and topped with a light whipped cream. My mouth is literally still watery. In conclusion. I Loved the setting. The food was excellent, our server was so kind and prices are reasonable. My father's birthday brunch was a success. I highly recommend creme de la crepe and i will definitely be going back for more. We'd been here a couple of times before, but only for drinks. The interior is quaint, with pretty typical Francophilic touches (pics of Parisian landmarks, etc). I decided on the Fit crepe, which is a buckwheat crepe filled with spinach and feta. Delicious, but the crepe was a bit dry around the edges. The drip coffee I got was great, however, and the hubby enjoyed his Veggie hash. Friendly service from the two servers, but they seemed a bit stretched--maybe it was more crowded than usual due to the watch party?

I never expected to find stellar cocktails and wings inside of a hotel, but you truly never know…read more Let's start with the cocktails; they are KILLING it. The menu has a ton of really detailed options, each drink with its own depth. The menu changes seasonally but what doesn't change is the smoked old fashioned - a must-order. They smoke your drink in a glass container using applewood chips; it's quite a show and it also does make the drink much more enjoyable. Ask the bartender and they can also help guide you to a drink - I've done it a couple of times and always pleasantly surprised. Next up, the food! The hummus was very flavorful and paired with an amazing fluffy pita bread. The truffle fries were solid but the plate was HUGE, definitely needs a friend to share. The Nashville wings are the star of the show. I cannot stress this enough, this is worth a DRIVE for. The seasoning really does remind you of Howlin' Rays (the highest compliment) and the chicken is extremely crispy yet insanely juicy. The pickles and ranch that it comes with pairs so well. Do note that they are tossing it in pork fat, which enhances the depth but also makes it a little greasy at the end. I also wished they'd warn you this and offer to order it without it; especially for those who don't eat pork or for those trying to cut some calories. There's a happy hour menu too!!! So you can get drinks and food even cheaper. I cannot stop thinking about this place. It's such a sleeper. Head to Midnight Oil after a visit to continue your night.

He went into the kitchen for fresh berries, muddled them with Tito's and soda, and made a genuinely refreshing summertime drink that helped with the heat...! I eventually ordered the Crispy Shrimp & Calamari to eat as my main (I was dining alone). I had recently had a very notable version of the same dish at a Canopy by Hilton in Washington DC, and unfortunately, this one did not measure up. The breading was average and the sweet chili aioli was poor. I asked for ranch instead, which was an improvement but still not great. The portion itself was fine. Service was solid and friendly! I'd rate the staff around a 4. Based on the food I had, the kitchen lands closer to a 2.5 to 3. Fine if you're already in the hotel and want something casual, but not an amazing choice for the fried seafood.

It's warm, buttery, served with honey, and absolutely delicious. I'm telling you, it's worth going just for the cornbread. The breakfasts are great. The lunches are great. The food across the board is fantastic. The bartenders are great. The menu has plenty of variety, and the whole place just has this incredible vibe. Imagine trying to find the restaurant with the biggest personality on Melrose Avenue in Los Angeles. That's basically The Attic. There's a certain energy to this place that's hard to describe. It's the same way Palm Springs has its own energy, or Melrose Avenue has a certain feeling you can't quite replicate anywhere else. The Attic has that kind of magic. And the best part?
