I needed to find a vegan spot on my way to the beach for a sunset Chill dinner by myself. Looking at all the options I didn't recognize Vizzi so I took a look at the menu. It was exactly what I was looking for with fast flavor forward and interesting plant-based food. I read a few yelp reviews before settling in on the Hari bowl. I ordered online and the order was ready as soon as I walked in the door. I was warmly greeted by the owner Akhil. We got to chatting and you could see how proud he was of his restaurant. I told him how excited I was to try a new vegan spot and loved the modern vegan Indian fusion type vibe. I don't know of many vegan Indian places so this is going to be a fun experience. We got to talking and finding out he is an IronMan triathlete got us geeking out immediately. I probably could've stayed another two hours talking, what an awesome dude. I started to get hungry so asked about other suggestions on the menu and he had mentioned the Raja fries. I made an order and he included two chutney and ketchup to try to see what I liked the most. There are so many things on the menu. I want to try, but I had to limit myself to two of them for this visit. I thanked him for a suggestion and was honestly bummed. I don't live in SoCal because we would probably be friends and vegan triathletes and foodies lol. Awesome vibe at the place, high ceilings, open space and looks like a great place to gather with friends or family for some unique vegan options. I went down to the beach and immediately enjoyed going back-and-forth between the Hari bowl and the Raja Fries. Each bite was different in the Hari bowl with so many layers of crunchy vegetables, soft and moist rice, and the prana protein, which was perfect for my post run recovery from earlier. The one thing I would change would probably be the crunchy chickpeas and just have them be seasoned and soft chickpeas. There is so much going on in the bowl, You don't need the extra crunch from the crunchy chickpeas, softer ones would do well I think. For the chutneys I didn't even prefer one of the Serrano chutney over the Mango Habanero. I really enjoyed alternating bites to get different flavor profiles for each fry. Nice little kick of heat with each bite too. All in all the pick up experience, getting to talk with Akhil, then ultimately the food experience. It was all a resounding success, and I'm glad I stumbled upon it. I'll be back as soon as I can. Can't wait! read more

STEPH JUDGEMENT: Great option for casual vegan fare in the evenings. So glad the great Wild Chive space is now being used in the evenings by this all plant-based eatery. Their limited menu is basically Indian-spiced vegan comfort food (think burgers, tacos, fries, etc). On our first visit the hubby and I shared a Burger, Nuggets, and seasoned fries--all very yummy. On the night we went the atmosphere felt a little austere, maybe because it was a bit dark and there was no music? The service was friendly and efficient, and the prices reasonable, so we knew we wanted to return. On our second visit we got food to go: I got the Hari bowl, probably their most health conscious offering, with kale, cabbage, rice, vegan protein, beans--i thought it was delicious and really hit the spot on a night I didn't want any fried foods. The hubby got the burrito, which he really enjoyed. On the nights we've walked by recently things looked more lively so maybe they're getting into their groove. My parents and even my uncle who isn't vegan have raving about vizzi so i went with them to see what all this hype is about. i've been going to wild chive for a while so i was used to the buzz and vibrancy of that atmosphere, but vizzi is a much more relaxed different vibe. there were times i had to check myself to make sure i wasn't talking too loud because it almost felt disrespectful to the space as it was very quiet. my parents speak very highly of the owner, unfortunately he wasn't there when i went but the waitress who was serving us was incredibly sweet , efficient and accommodating. shout out to her she even gave us a free bag of dog treats for our dog! i ordered the loaded fries, mango drink and dessert, each having a really pleasant and unique flavor profile. I found the fries to be somewhat average but the drink and dessert were delicious!! i tried some of my moms bowl she ordered and it also fell somewhat flat for me. even though the main food menu didn't wow me, i would definitely come back if i was ever wanting a sweet treat because i loved my drink and dessert! i feel like vizzi has lots of potential and i'm excited too see them expand read more

We visited them twice in a week of their opening, so that should already tell you something about the place. Lovely food and very warm staff. We ordered the Bhakti bites, Lanka Loaded fries, the Infinite burrito, the Chariot burger, Tamarind Lemonade and the Amrit Mango Fresca in our first visit. We thought that the Mango drink was da bomb! So so good! We thought of trying different items in our second visit and definitely did not miss out ordering the mango lassi of course. The Hari Bowl and the Kinetic Tacos quickly became our favorites. Tasty, flavorful and good quantity. What we also loved was their very reasonable prices! The same food would have costed us more elsewhere. So it's a place that we would be visiting often for sure. I'm a certified carnivore that rarely skips meat in my lunch and dinner meals. But I live on the same block as this restaurant and wanted to support a local business, even if it's Vegan... I ordered the infinite burrito. I was blown away at how delicious it was. The burrito had a great mix of sweet, salty and citrusy flavours. I found it filling and did not miss having meat with my dinner at all. It had the best elements of a Mexican burrito with an interior flavour reminiscent of Southeast Asia. Was already in love with this space due to having great experienced with Wild Chive over the years, and now this business made this space even more special than it's ever been--and I didn't know that could be possible. Dinner has never been more delicious nor had such great vibes! The energy, music, and ambiance were great at Vizzi. The owner greeted us and could not have been kinder and more welcoming throughout our entire stay. Food options were so yummy and very affordable with perfect, slightly smaller sized portions that you'll actually finish. I prefer that a lot to paying an excess for food I may not finish, or feeling stuffed trying to scarf it all down. We left feeling full, satisfied, and uplifted. Way to go Vizzi! As a vegan, it's exciting when a new vegan restaurant opens (or re-opens in the case of Vizzi). I thought that the food was a disappointment though. I ordered a burrito and deleted all the processed stuff, like cheese, crema, faux meat and asked for extra veggies instead. The burrito came with maybe five black beans and few more veggies, for which I was charged extra. Next time, I will go to Cocorenos, a few blocks down, and have a vegan burrito - much better! read more

There were lots of healthy veggies in it, so I did not feel like this was a cheat night at all. The tamarind drink did taste like a tamarand fruit and was just sweet and sour enough.
