I can't say enough good things about this restaurant. I am not vegetarian or vegan by any means, but some of my good friends are. We came here on their suggestion, and it was fantastic. All the food was delicious, nothing disappointed, but our personal favorites were the Salsiccia pasta and the Truffle pizza. To top it off, the desserts were perfect. Not too sweet, and a great way to end the meal. Our server last night was very friendly, and they accommodate our group of four by re-organizing the tables. Went in around 7pm Sunday night and the place was packed! We waited about less than 30 min, and the staff was very friendly. Service was a bit slow but they did have lots of people and a big party outside. The restaurant gave a very family friendly vibe. The employees seemed to get a long great which I think created the comfortable ambiance. The bathroom had a bidet & a mouthwash station! The food was AMAZING. First we had the tricolore salad which was sky high and packed with flavors. It has som pieces of mandarin walnuts and "cheese." Our pizza is what took a minute but was wroth it. Wasn't worth the price considering half of it was just tomatoes, no protein, no side of bread nothing-- just look at how the basil leaf alone takes up the plate. I'm very disappointed with how long it took for my family to get their food. An hour and 30 minutes? This is ridiculous! Our reservation was at 6pm, it was 7:30pm and my brother never received his food. I really felt bad for him. He was very hungry. We couldn't eat as a family, because our food did not arrived on time. I don't understand why other families who came after us, ended up getting served first? It was Mother's Day and this really ruined our night. My mother wasn't happy at all. This 5 star is for the olive oil cake alone. WOW!! The notes of cardamom sing. This is truly the perfect autumnal cake. I want this for my birthday with affogato - it would be a literal match made in heaven. Warm this cake up for 25 seconds if you take it home, it is just divine. The loaf muffin was also amazing. I love savory so this was very much up my alley. Great texture, great aroma. A little dense but that's because it's a loaf still! The cinnamon roll is a very solid cinnamon roll, but it didn't stand out for me as much. But again, I'm a savory gal, so I'm probably not the best judge. I will say the inside has tons of cinnamon! Almost everything was really salty... the caesar salad and the spaghetti were almost hard to eat. I did enjoy the margarita pizza though, but i feel like that's a hard one to mess up. Scratch made cheeses, meats, pasta and pizza dough wood burning Pizza oven, you can sit at the bar and watch them make your pizzas. Although it does make the restaurant VERY hot!! What I found interesting was that it doesn't say anywhere on the menu or in the restaurant that everything is vegan, unless I just didn't notice. It's a small place, and we were seated outdoors and well attended to. My favorite dish was the Amante Della Carne Pizza. The "meats" held a lot of flavor and the crust was enjoyable. The Gnocchi was a little texturally soft for my taste but I enjoyed the flavors. They have indoor & outdoor seating. I went for dinner on a weeknight. The restaurant was busy, so we were happy to get an outside table for 5. We ordered the Tricolor Salad & Olives for appetizers- yum. Both served beautifully too! Then we got 3 pizzas to share. That amount of food was perfect for 5 adults. We had to wait a long while for the Potato Pesto Pizza to come out, so much so that we asked our server if it was still coming since we thought it may have been forgotten (we had finished all of the other food and were still waiting). The staff was able to move some tables for us to accommodate our group. We were offered a choice of inside or outside. Outside is always the preferred option! We repeated some of the dishes from our first visit (tricolore salad, margherita & patate e pesto pizzas). Tonight, we added the olives for a starter and an extra pizza, the quattro formaggi. I was able to sample the two red wines and chose the 2022 Donnachiara. We also ordered the Scarpetta Brut Rose. We knew that the olives came with bread, but it would have been helpful to know that it only came with two slices. If we had been informed about that we would have ordered more bread. The number of times I've tried to come here for dinner is insane, but something always happened (like a pipe bursting on their street) or they were closed (Tuesday evenings). Alas, I finally was able to try their pizzas and pastas (since they're only served during dinner). The ambiance of this place is nice and the Halloween decorations were cute. Unfortunately on the food side, besides the Pesto & Potato pizza, everything was pretty disappointing and not very flavorful. Plus, add high prices for small serving size sizes, made this a place I would not return to again. The worst part was I mentioned it was a birthday dinner, but we somehow received bad service (no water refills/checks-ins on the table, etc.) and slow service generally even though they were not very busy. First off, the service here is amazing. The waitress came by so often to make sure that we had everything that we needed. There was never even a glass of water that was left dry or halfway. The restaurant itself is really tiny with a very small limited amount of indoor seating. They have a little bit more room outside in the patio, but the problem is on those chilly or rainy or windy night. The patio will become unusable. Now for the food, I recommend that you go family style and each person orders a dish and then split it amongst everybody that is there in order to get the full experience. Everything here is vegan from the meat. It's actually not meat it's made from other things like the shrimp is made from a fruit and it actually taste like shrimp. The sausage too is made from other products, but there is actually no meat product in that sausage our party ordered two pizzas one was sausage. The other one was the fig and order two different pastas, spicy sausage pasta, and the lemon pasta. Everything was delicious. We'd passed this numerous times, and decided to try it. We got to the restaurant, and my wife stepped out of the car only to trip & fall on the high curb. This place is one of the nicest open air restaurants that I've been to. There were people sitting outside, saw her fall & simply watched us struggle. The owner & cashier came running to help. NEW FAVE RESTAURANT ALERT! Not sure why it took me so long to get here, but now that I have tasted the pure deliciousness that is Mangiafoglie, I will go back as often as I can. After a short wait (we could have sat immediately at the counter in front of the wood fired pizza oven, but chose to wait for a table), we were seated by a very friendly server. The ambiance is beautiful - comfortable, clean, tastefully appointed. And the food! Oh my gosh the food. We started with a special appetizer, which was pâté and caviar on crusty bread - divine! Then we split the salchicha & pesto pizza with cherry tomatoes. It was a true flavor explosion! And the pizza crust is probably the best I've ever had. We also split the gnocchi with pine nuts which was tangy and inventive - I'm a gnocchi snob, and this was some fantastic gnocchi. Finally, we had the olive oil cake - unreal!!! Served warm, with hints of cardamom, with walnuts, blueberries, and creamy ice cream. And the red wine (an Italian import) was particularly crisp and refreshing, paired perfectly with the food. Our first visit here a month ago was fantastic. We had an incredible waiter who explained the menu in detail (even describing certain dishes as "mute" for milder flavors). We ordered the meatballs, and they were unforgettable steaming hot, perfectly textured, with sauce that was spot-on and hearty, brick-oven bread that was fluffy inside and toasted just right. We literally talked about it all the way home. We also tried a pasta dish, which wasn't really our style, but overall the experience was great. Fast forward to our second visit, and it was a complete 180. We called on the way since GPS said we'd arrive at 8:35 p.m. The person who answered assured us that wasn't too late. My daughter went in first and ordered the meatballs with extra bread, but the waitress greeted her with attitude, snapping that they close at 9. When I came in and asked about a pizza I'd seen in a review, I showed her a photo. She identified which one it was, and when I asked what vegan cheese they used, she cut me off sharply with, "We make our own." I asked what it was made of, and she snapped, "Coconut oil." As a vegan chef, I was already skeptical that's not even a proper cheese base. The tone alone should have been a red flag. When the meatballs arrived, they were lukewarm, not hot and fresh like before. The bread was even worse: all end pieces, stale, chewy, and tough, basically the throwaway scraps you'd give out at the end of the night. Nothing like the fluffy, toasted bread we had on our first visit. Then came the pizza. And tell me if I'm crazy, but the build was completely off: crust, sauce, meat, and then a thick layer of cheese on top. This wasn't a deep dish, so it made no sense, it just felt careless, like "throw something together and serve it." The final straw was when we were packing up the meatballs to reheat at home, and the waitress just grabbed the pizza off the table without asking. We had only each taken one bite, and she never asked if we wanted it wrapped up, if we were done, or if there was an issue. We thought maybe she was taking it to box it, but nope, it just disappeared. The diabolical part is it still showed up on the bill.
