I love the food here. BENNIE is amazing. I have not had such a friendly waiter in such a long time!!! He greeted me right away. Was smiling the whole time. He even came to my table (I was solo) and talked to me for a little while about the area and other things! So friendly. The wings are incredible!!! One of the best wings I've ever had. TOP 2 for me. They are soooo crispy on the outside and tons of meat, and JUICY AF!!!! those pickles are just yummy.
I had breakfast here twice and both times had positive experiences. There were tables and half booth/tables available so we could pick where we wanted to sit. The booths had the covering peeling so not the best look, but it was still comfortable. The servers were friendly, attentive, and prompt with service. The first breakfast was the breakfast burrito which was a large portion and potatoes. It keep me full for hours and I didn't need to have lunch. It was filled with eggs, sausage, beans, cheese, and peppers. The next day, I had the smoked salmon avocado toast. There was ample salmon and it was very tasty. The orange juice was great too. I enjoyed the food, service, and atmosphere for a hotel restaurant.
Navy Proof staff were super attentive and professional for our event. Food was great, service was great, drinks were delicious and the atmosphere amazing. A nice day bar/restaurant for a yummy breakfast and lunch and turns into a cool night spot for your smaller event or after dinner drinks. Loved it!! 10/10.
Nice spacious place in the lobby of the Westin Long Beach where we are staying! They close every night at midnight and we came here for breakfast. We ordered the breakfast burrito and Longshoreman breakfast along with unlimited refills of Starbucks coffee. They serve breakfast until noon. Portions are great as well as the friendly service
The Westin Long Beach is a beautiful hotel and this lobby restaurant and bar is a treat! The service was excellent. We received such friendly treatment from our server in the comfortable seating area. I ordered the salmon toast and it was a huge portion! I could have easily shared with my colleague. There were two full slices with so much smoked salmon on top! It was delicious. I would not recommend ordering a side of eggs. I was hoping for fresh eggs but got boxed eggs instead that did not taste great.
*This will be an inclusive review of my experiences with both breakfast and lunch service* Arriving at the hotel, i was attending a conference for the week with my organization. I decided to head downstairs and eat at the restaurant, Navy Proof Food & Spirits. The restaurant is open spaced with the lobby. The selections were various but decided to go with the Babacoa tacos and shared a calamari shrimp appetizer also a carrot cake for dessert. Flavorful and well seasoned. No issues with any of the choices Breakfast the next day, decided to pick the Eggs Benedict. Another solid choice with no complaints. The restaurant staff were nice as well and attentive. Overall good. Nothing I found a concern. But something noteworthy to mention but was not a restaurant concern but a hotel one. I will save it for the hotel and not towards Navy Proof staff for something out of their control.
Overall good spot!! The food is better then most hotels in my opinion. I enjoyed the burger and energy here. For the price point for the burger was huge, and came with some delicious fries and a side of pickles and carrots. The server with the glasses and dark facial hair was on the ball and really made my experience great. Try this spot!!!! I also had the margarita, it was solid but comes with big old fashion type ice cubes, I like smaller ice cubes in my cocktails..
Came to eat here every single day for 5 days while we were in Long Beach for the Cali Vibes Festival and we never got tired of the food! The food is good, it comes out quickly and staff is nice. I understand that it was a hard weekend to work due to the festival so it did get EXTREMELY busy at times where service was slow, but no reason to dock them stars for that. Everyone was doing the best they could and was trying to give maximum service to everyone at the same time. Our breakfast was included with our stay and we never got tired of it. They had a good variety but my favorite was definitely the huevos rancheros. I got that 3 days in a row! The coconut chia seed pudding was also my favorite from the half portions that also came included. Our stay also included daily free wine or beer flights and we didn't miss a day! I loved their pinot noir the most and my husband's favorite beer was the Chronic amber ale. It's an open restaurant so you can see everyone that walks in and out to check in and out. The highlight of the weekend was seeing the lead singer of one of my favorite reggae bands check in! It's also first come first serve so you don't need to wait to be seated!

This place is usually great...5- stars. Not the case right now, unfortunately. I am a local and know what you are capable of but you are missing the mark right now. Nobody makes an old fashioned with crushed ice. It tastes like water. I know you are busy due to the Grand Prix but if you let me know you can't make my cocktail properly, I'd be totally understanding and order something different...just give me the option to do so. So...when questioned about the quality of the drinks, our server, Bryan, quickly made it right! We were given a round on the house. Check out the Matchbox (or Hot Wheels) car in the ice. This is what I am used to when I go to Navy Proof!
I hosted my birthday brunch here in the fall after doing some local research. I think I expected something entirely different than what my small group received based on their website, and that happens. *Heads up, it's on the ground floor of a hotel with a fully open view of everything and the only ambiance is the round bar if you have an unobstructed view. My food was underseasoned, my mom's food was warm, there were fruit flies being swatted constantly by my group and staff at the table. It was all just, meh.
I never expected to find stellar cocktails and wings inside of a hotel, but you truly never know. Let's start with the cocktails; they are KILLING it. The menu has a ton of really detailed options, each drink with its own depth. The menu changes seasonally but what doesn't change is the smoked old fashioned - a must-order. They smoke your drink in a glass container using applewood chips; it's quite a show and it also does make the drink much more enjoyable. Ask the bartender and they can also help guide you to a drink - I've done it a couple of times and always pleasantly surprised. Next up, the food! The hummus was very flavorful and paired with an amazing fluffy pita bread. The truffle fries were solid but the plate was HUGE, definitely needs a friend to share. The Nashville wings are the star of the show. I cannot stress this enough, this is worth a DRIVE for. The seasoning really does remind you of Howlin' Rays (the highest compliment) and the chicken is extremely crispy yet insanely juicy. The pickles and ranch that it comes with pairs so well. Do note that they are tossing it in pork fat, which enhances the depth but also makes it a little greasy at the end. I also wished they'd warn you this and offer to order it without it; especially for those who don't eat pork or for those trying to cut some calories. There's a happy hour menu too!!! So you can get drinks and food even cheaper. I cannot stop thinking about this place. It's such a sleeper. Head to Midnight Oil after a visit to continue your night. read more
Navy Proof is the restaurant and bar inside the Westin Long Beach lobby. The open atrium with high ceilings and large windows looks impressive, but in the early afternoon the sun made the space feel warm and greenhouse-like. The bartender was excellent. He went into the kitchen for fresh berries, muddled them with Tito's and soda, and made a genuinely refreshing summertime drink that helped with the heat...! I eventually ordered the Crispy Shrimp & Calamari to eat as my main (I was dining alone). I had recently had a very notable version of the same dish at a Canopy by Hilton in Washington DC, and unfortunately, this one did not measure up. The breading was average and the sweet chili aioli was poor. I asked for ranch instead, which was an improvement but still not great. The portion itself was fine. Service was solid and friendly! I'd rate the staff around a 4. Based on the food I had, the kitchen lands closer to a 2.5 to 3. Fine if you're already in the hotel and want something casual, but not an amazing choice for the fried seafood. read more

Grabbed a couple of quick bites and drinks at Navy Proof Food & Spirits inside The Westin in Long Beach, and both visits were solid overall. I found the prices to be reasonable, especially given the quality of the food and drinks and the central location inside The Westin Over two visits, I tried the hummus, barbacoa tacos, proof burger, and a jalapeño margarita, and everything hit the spot-fresh, and well-seasoned. One thing I would call out is to double-check that your drink is made with the alcohol you requested. I asked for a specific brand in my jalapeño margarita, and the bartender used the one I had specifically said I didn't want (Casa Amigos). I watched him make it and had to ask our server to confirm what was in the drink. To their credit, they remade it with no issues, but it's worth paying attention if you're particular about your spirits. The staff was friendly and welcoming each time I stopped in, and while service ran a bit on the slower side at moments, they stayed attentive enough that it never felt like a real issue. read more

Loved my experience at Navy Proof! I had the pineapple martini it was absolutely delicious and I also had the Nashville Fried Wings which were also fantastic and filling! I don't drink old fashioned but you can smell the Smokey old fashion all the way from the lobby when they are making it! Definitely a nice hotel bar! read more

Located in the Westin Long Beach, this restaurant can stand on its own. The pork belly poutine was outstanding and their take on a Caesar salad was fresh and flavorful. The summer spritz cocktail was refreshing and well balanced. Service was a little slow, but I did come in during the no man's land between lunch and happy hour. read more
I ate breakfast at Navy Proof as it is in the Westin hotel. I sat at the bar and the bartender and I chatted pleasantly. My order for the Huevos Rancheos came out looking fabulous and was prompt. Just the flavor you expect and not overwehlmed in sauce. Avocado is the southern California must add. I can easily order it again and do recommend. You are paying higher prices for the location and that is why I don't rank Navy Proof higher. read more

Who knew that some of the best drinks in LB were made at the Westin hotel?! Had the pleasure of trying some of the winter cocktails offered at this hotel bar. They had friendly bartenders and attentive service. I opted for the clarified English milk punch. It was absolutely delicious. The perfect balance of four different types of liquor with bitters and green tea. Definitely not a drink I've had before and I loved it. Don't sleep on this hotel bar! read more
This is one of our fave hotel bars in dtlb. The huge lighting display above the bar alone is worth the visit. Servers are all friendly and knowledgeable. Every time we go someone orders the smoked old fashioned and it then turns into everyone ordering it lol because it is photo worthy. Cocktails are very good - their margarita and espresso martini are some faves. And the bar food is better than most. Chicken wings with the dry rub are tasty and not overly spicy. Our First Time Here Staying At The Westin Hotel And This Restaurant Is Part Of It. I Ordered The Breakfast Sandwich With Baby Potatoes And My Fiancée Ordered The Longshoreman Breakfast. Kinda Loud And People Are Chit Chatting Away. I Hope Our Meals Are Good..?? Quickly Seated And Greeted. So Far A Great Start Let's See How Our Meals Are..?? Beautiful Atmosphere And A Full Bar. Service and staff were super accommodating and sweet! Anthony was our waiter and was the best! These pork belly poutine fries are the closest thing I'll ever get to Canada and I have been craving them since we got them! The meat is super tender and they give a great amount of cheese curds, while the gravy is just right! Not too thick and not too watery. The Kobe sliders were the perfect size and the most tender sliders I've ever had! My mom loved her mule and said it was the perfect ratio! The vibe of the restaurant was beautiful and bright and felt very comfortable! Definitely my favorite spot in Long Beach and will be there every time I'm here! read more

Nice, classy place close to downtown long beach. This place could get crowded depending on the convention events but otherwise you will have no problem finding a table. They have good happy hour drinks and small bites. Their soups are delicious.My fav cocktail from the HH menu is old fashioned and fav food to order is fish tacos. They also have great non-alcoholic drinks which is refreshing! They have pitcher drink options if you are with a group of friends/family. Staff is friendly and welcoming. They are inside Westin property so you can use their lobby wifi to stay connected to internet. Parking is available both inside and outside the street. I have not parked because I live close by and walk to the place usually. Highly recommend this place ! read more

I just realized that, despite having been here on a number of occasions, I still haven't ever reviewed them. So I'm finally fixing that! Anyway, whenever I'm here at this point, I'm here for exactly one reason: their smoked old fashioned. I wish it weren't now $20 plus tip, but it's one of the best old fashioneds around. Perfectly blended base of "rye, bourbon and brandy", absolutely perfectly cut, crystal clear ice, and then smoked to absolute kingdom come in a crazy smoke machine. *Nobody* else is making smoked cocktails like that in Long Beach (I still miss the heck out of Cielo, years later.) As far as the bar itself - all their bartenders are great, ambiance is solidly "nice but casual hotel bar", and the menu cocktails are mostly $16, even the relatively easy to make ones. If it weren't for the smoked old fashioned, I'd probably give this bar 4 stars, in that, no matter how good your bartenders are, no matter how perfectly clear your ice is and how nice a glass you serve it in (but they do have really nice ice and glassware, I won't lie), I'm not going to be *that* excited about paying $16 for a menu of mainly classic cocktails or slight variations on them, that I could probably make at home. (By the way, the one other cocktail with an instagrammable-sounding description, the "smoke bubble", is indeed a neat effect, but isn't actually that much smoke - unlike the smoked old fashioned, not nearly enough to affect the flavor of the drink.) But here's what I definitely *don't* have at home (and don't plan on buying): a decent-sized machine that looks like it's from a hundred years ago, that chews up pretty decent sized chunks of wood, and spits out an impressively substantial amount of smoke, which yes, is perfectly presented so you can take a video for your friends (it's the sort of drink where the person sitting next to you might ask if *they* can get a picture), but also, so it has a chance to really smoke the drink properly. At *that* point, with their bartenders all being great, great hand-cut ice, and a great house blend of "rye, bourbon and brandy" as the old fashioned base... I *will* occasionally splurge on one of the best smoked old fashioneds I've had anywhere. I also asked last time I was there if I could get other cocktails smoked, and you definitely can - definitely seeing smoked boulevardiers in my (relatively occasional, they are still $20 cocktails!) future. read more

Been here a few times, usually after events at the Convention. Place is chill with decent tasting food, well mixed drinks, and good service. The bar/restaurant is at the hotel lobby and is very bright, clean, and modern looking. Prices on some items seemed a bit high but you gotta pay to play lol. It's a chill spot and would still go back. read more
