Irish Mushroom Melt
Valerie G.

Great customer service. The people here are just really nice, cool people. Makes me wanna come back because they're so welcoming. My mushroom melt was just what I was craving for. Hubby got his burger and calamari.

We walked here from our hotel, a couple of Miles away and across the bridge. We were looking for food, as our hotel only served breakfast, and we wanted to get snacks and water for the room anyway. Our look online led us here to Shoreline Village. (We have a Shenanigans here in Chicago but I have never been there!) The area is perfect for a restaurant, near a harbor with boats and a view of the water (reminds me of Navy Pier), so we sat outside, esp when we heard there was to be live music. We wanted some quiet and to hear ourselves talk. Instead of the QR code way to order, a waitress came and took our orders in person. That was a nice touch, esp after poor Lauren G's ordeal! It was a Thursday early evening, not many customers. We ordered beers, and the waitress was nice enough to provide samples of the draft beer before committing to a pint. I like trying local beers so I got the Firestone Cali Blood Orange beer. It was good, so I got that and my party got a special happy hour vodka well drink. We ordered the fish tacos and corned beef sliders. We only wanted appetizers and they both hit the spot! They were moist with plenty of meat. The waitress was friendly and attentive. I was not too fond of the bathroom situation of 'all gender' but they were fairly clean. The live band came on and they were pretty good, but we sat in the front while they performed in the back. If I sit inside I would probably watch sports on the nice tvs around the bar, but I liked the 'jukebox' music. It's a fun place to sit near the water and look out, or sit inside like the pub that it is.

I got the irish steak it was so good, brocollini and mashed potatoes were amazing as well. Wish they would bring back the boaters discount though in shorline marina.

Be VIGILANT when you order via your phone from this restaurant. They charged me $22 for a double Jameson and $12 for a Tito's and soda that I DID NOT order and they will do nothing to make it right. More below. Pretty much your only option is to scan a QR code and do everything online. I was having issues getting my card to load and just wanted to get my food order in. All I had was a BLT, mozzarella sticks and a water. When I got back to my hotel room, I saw I was charged $78!! I realized I hadn't closed my tab and thought maybe they charge you an insane fee for that. No. It must close automatically when you leave- great. I would never dine and dash so I was relieved it is set up to prevent that from happening. But then I looked at my bill. I immediately tried to call the bar back multiple times and no one answered and it didn't go to voicemail. I emailed them immediately. I was relieved they responded early the next morning. I gave every ounce of detail I possibly could to indicate I'm not trying to pull one over on them. The response was they can't prove it and I should have dealt with it at the bar. Well, back to the fact I didn't close my tab- it automatically closed when I left and it's a third party vendor so there was nothing I could do to have fixed this. And to top it off, thank god I took a screen grab of the web browser because they also never emailed me a receipt. So basically their bartender made a mistake and they are letting the customer take the fall. Who in their right mind would spend 6 days now trying to get this dealt with, just to get one over on the restaurant? This restaurant has no integrity and does not care at all about trying to fix a blatant mistake on their end. The entire situation is wildly shady and would strongly encourage anyone considering this place to go somewhere else that won't knowingly and blatantly steal from you.

We were on our way to Parker's lighthouse to enjoy the outdoor view and we detoured bcs we heard music playing... so we changed our path and went in to the pub. Walked in through parking lot side entrance saw the sign to seat ourselves so we did. It was pretty busy, football game was on and we found a seat inside. We waited awhile for someone to acknowledge us so I got and as I going to ask for a menu at the bar, I saw a stand with menus. Our server finally came over and apologized we were ready to order. I ordered a chicken burger which was very yummy and filling and my partner ordered a fish and chips, I was pleasantly surprised, pretty good food. The fish was fresh and it wasn't chopped into pieces like I've seen before, it was one whole fillet piece, it was very tasty. I feel the portion of fries wasn't very generous on either of our plates; my in partner was still hungry after fish and chips. Uhhh and another negative is that they don't serve Michelob Ultra.

Been going to Shoreline Village for over 30 years. First time setting foot in this establishment. To my surprise it was very comfortable. Live music, good ambiance, great energy and delicous food. Service was good, I was treated well. Always attentive to our tables need. Saturday night is very busy. Cool place to hangout for people in their mid 30s and up. Two thumbs up. Parking is very crowded. Good luck!

We have been here several times and finally leaving a review. Everything we have ordered has been a big win. Tater Tots, Fried Mozzarella sticks, wings, cocktails, and they have the COLDEST beer on tap! The waitress today was not very friendly but that's not usually the case. Generally the staff is very friendly just not today. She seemed very transactional...1.2.3 here is your bill and done. The ambiance of this place is outstanding! Live Music and happy people. I highly recommend this place. The GO TO spot in Shoreline! Two thumbs up!

Food- after few years, finally taste their Corn Beef & cabbage yesterday, for St. Patrick's day. It was delicious. I give a 10... And it was busy yesterday. It's the perfect spot for St. Patrick Day! With the BEST live music. The only thinks that I don't like. They only have 2 bathroom and everyone has to be in line, woman & man has to share . Don't forget to validate your parking, to have a discount parking fee. Pic's below included

This is located right at shoreline village, around a half mile walk from the aquarium. Staff were friendly and helpful, though service was a bit slow due to the Long Beach Marathon. I'm not sure they expected the crowd of people looking for breakfast first thing on a Sunday morning! The breakfast food was fairly standard diner-style food with decent prices. It's not something I'd crave, but definitely something I'd eat again. This is a live music/sports bar. It's very casual, a little dark, and has a lot of high top tables. It may not be the best fit for very young children due to the noise and atmosphere, but I would say that it is definitely family friendly during the day.

Came here this morning for brunch. We loved sitting at the high top looking over the boats. I ordered the Irish Benedict (I think that's what it was called) and it arrived freshly cooked, hot and delicious! My friend ordered the quesadilla and she loved it too! Our server was great, attentive, efficient and helpful, I don't remember her name unfortunately. Will definitely come back if I'm in the area.

Super busy on a Saturday night, they have a live band playing. They have a couple of pool tables and of course they have drinks and some food options. I personally love their buffalo wings. We also ordered the Asada tater tots and calamari. Were ordered a couple buckets of beer and it was a great night. One of my favorite places to drink. The energy of the people and the atmosphere is perfect every time.

Kris B.

Great live music on Friday night. This is also the place that wait staff from restaurants hang out after their shifts, which is a sign of a good place. After drinks and dinner at one place, drinks and oysters at Parker's, we came here for drinks and music. The band was good, playing lots of classics. They also have a jute box app to play songs between sets. Lots more drinks and some surprisingly good mozzarella sticks. A fun way to end the evening. And it's been a long time since I've been anywhere until Last Call!

And since we first walked through the doors, we were in love. In love with the atmosphere, the perfectly pulled pints, the food (Dear God the Corned Beef Sandwich is a religious experience! ) and the characters of the staff. We've spent many occasions and life's moments here as well, From birthday dinners to at one time making it out Sunday Supper place to catch a traditional set and our dinner. The Sunday musicians are so good back in 2012 we hired a few to play at our engagement party, and brought a bit of the Auld Dub into our home. Today was no different, popped In for a family birthday celebration and stayed for a Sunday set. The music was fabulous the food amazing and the staff excellent! Ordered the usual: Curry Chips (cooked extra Well Done), and the best corned beef sandwich this side of the Atlantic! It's served perfectly on a crunchy swirled rye bread with an amazing apple jam of apples and caramelized onions. Just excellent! We also ordered an Irish Full Breakfast, which my soul craves every now and then! Basically you can't go wrong eating here.

1 Star - Worst Experience I've Ever Had at a Bar…read more I've been to The Blind Donkey in downtown Long Beach before but what happened last night deserves to be shared. I came here with a friend last night and ordered a blonde beer that tasted completely off -- it genuinely tasted like blue cheese. My friend encouraged me to ask for a replacement since something was clearly wrong with it. When she brought it to the bar, the bartender told her he'd replace it and that it was on the house, but then made her pay for the second drink anyway. If I had known she'd still be charged, I would've just not asked for another drink. When I came up to the bar to clarify why she paid for something he said was comped, the bartender backtracked and said he "didn't mean" that. I asked if they could void the second charge, since this was supposed to be a simple replacement. He kept explaining that he is charging us for this second one because it was not a blonde, it was a white ale. I told him that's fine, but why did he say it was "on the house" and now charging us anyway? He ended up bringing over the manager. The manager was a short, Latino man with a hat on. He was incredibly rude from the moment he arrived explaining the beer was a blonde- which I know what I ordered, but tasted whack. He didn't look at us, didn't listen to anything we were saying, and without asking a single question he grabbed both drinks we paid for and dumped them down the drain. We were stunned -- we paid for both of them and now had nothing. When he came back, I calmly told him we paid for both drinks he just threw out. His response? "Don't expect to come here and get free drinks." Which is wild considering we never asked for anything free -- we were just trying to get the mistaken charge fixed. When I told him he needed to void the drink he dumped, he called security on us. We weren't loud, drunk, or confrontational. Security refused to give us the manager's name, and only one finally whispered "Ken," though at that point it felt like they were just saying anything to get us out the door. I've worked in customer-facing roles before. I understand dive bars aren't known for luxury service, but this wasn't about service -- it was about basic respect, integrity, and not charging customers for drinks you throw away yourself. I'm leaving this review as a Long Beach local, it's saddening to see how a popular bar like The Blind Donkey treats their customers. This was the worst experience I've ever had.
