Reno Room is one of those Long Beach spots that reminds you why neighborhood bars still matter, especially when the deals are this good. We came two nights in a row Monday and Tuesday and honestly the value here is hard to beat. Monday was all day happy hour with $3.50 well drinks which is crazy in 2026. At that price it's hard to complain about anything. The vibe was chill, service was good, and they had all the games on, so it was an easy place to post up. They also had TouchTunes going with a solid music mix which made the whole night feel relaxed and fun. We grabbed some food too. Got a bean and cheese burrito and added some asada on the side. The food was decent nothing that's going to blow your mind, but it did the job and we had zero complaints. For the price it felt like a steal to get drinks and food without feeling like you just got taxed for existing. We came back Tuesday to check out Taco Tuesday and again the value was ridiculous. $1.95 tacos and $7.50 Don Julio reposado shots? Come on you're not finding that in most places anymore. Same deal as Monday, the food isn't "best tacos in the city" level, but it's solid, satisfying, and perfect for what this place is. Overall Reno Room isn't trying to be fancy and that's exactly why it works. Great prices, good service, sports on, good music, and a classic Long Beach bar vibe. Oh Reno Room! I feel like there isn't a week where the words the reno room doesn't come up in conversation! And that is a good thing! This is one of the first places I went to when I moved to the area because my best friend lives in Long Beach and this is her go to neighborhood spot. Every time I go, she introduces me to another person that she knows from Long Beach and the bartenders and this is really the type of spot where everyone knows your name and it's a really good friendly atmosphere to be in. Moving aside from that, the happy hour prices are chef's kiss! Additionally, they're Mexican food to honest surprise is delicious. We left the Bar down the street to check Reno Room, it's not bad for being old. It's one of those local neighborhood corner bars. They have a full bar and stools to sit on, with several booths, and in the back, a pool table for anyone to hit some balls. lol Like most places in the area parking is awful but don't let that stop you from coming here for a nice time. read more

Zero stars. I came here to celebrate my friend's birthday because it was one of the few bars open early in the morning, and we thought it would be a fun and unique experience. Unfortunately, the bartender was incredibly rude to us from the moment we arrived. We got there at 7:00 AM and were cut off by 9:00 AM after only four shots each. What made the situation even more frustrating was that other locals we met at the bar mentioned they were already 10 shots in and agreed that how we were treated was unfair. I even tipped the bartender generously despite her attitude, hoping it might improve the service, but she remained unpleasant and hostile throughout our visit. Finally came for their famous Taco Tuesday, reading about it in Eater LA and the Long Beach Post. It is a classic dive bar from the 1950's, located in Long Beach, serving Mexican food from the attached kitchen (Cocorenos). It was a good experience, with good food. The Reno Room is a typical bar, and even though pretty empty around 3 pm, many of the bar booths had signs reserving it for groups later at night. Thus our group of three thought it better to sit in the small dining room next door at Cocorenos. A basket of really good corn tortilla chips were given along with some salsa. Tuesday drink specials were $5 - $10, including pints of draft Modelo's and house margaritas at the lowest end. (got two modelos for me and two margaritas for the girls...went great with the tacos). Taco Tuesday are different types of street tacos (classic two bite tacos in double corn tortilla with cilantro and onion). For the three of us, I ordered 18 tacos (3 each of beef, chicken, carne asada, shrimp, fish, and baja (fried fish)). Sides of guacamole and crema are $1.75 each, and one of each. We finished what we could (12, two of each) and brought the rest home for our 4th usual participant who couldn't make it this time. My personal favorite were the stewed shredded beef tacos. Even though hard shell tacos (taco dorado) are not included in the Taco Tuesday special, that shredded beef in hard shell with cheese and shredded lettuce would be outstanding. The two fish tacos were the weakest out of the lot, and the shrimp tacos used two jumbo shrimps for each one. The Reno Room and Cocorenos is considered one entity (food from coco, drinks from Reno) and work well together. Clover is the payment processor and there was easy payment at the table. I stand by this statement. I don't get out much but when I do make my way to Reno Room, if April isn't working I'll come back for when she is. Always attentive, makes a mean strawberry margarita, serving up smiles & always wearing some really cute fits! Not only is the way they make that drink (which is like a Bloody Mary made with beer) unique, it is killer!! Also - important to add that the food is awesome too. It's not Reno, but that's ok because there's not much Room. One of four bars on a small stretch of Broadway in Belmont Heights between Euclid and Coronado, so it's much more a locals' bar than a destination bar. One's a tiny pourhouse, across the street, in something the size of a donut shop. One is a pub with a patio a block away that took over a LB institution. This retro dive is big and dark like 36/36, but it's a bit darker which is good because the bros can't start with the "what'cha looking at?" crap if they can't see you. In 2012, OC Weekly named it the #2 dive bar in Long Beach. But, then again, they named Carnation Gardens the best place to pick up women, so. Aside from the small parking lot, the bonus to Reno Room is it's connected to Cocoreno's, which hopefully explains why the girl next to you smells like pico de gallo. It opened in 1950 as an Art Deco bank (likely before the tinted windows and naked lady paintings) and was a favored spot for longshoremen and Bukowski, according to his drinking buddy and former CSULB professor Gerry Locklin, who gathered his students, co-workers, and guest speakers like Bukowksi and Ginsberg here. Said Bukowki, "I've never been lonely. I've been in a room -- I've felt suicidal. I've been depressed. I've felt awful -- awful beyond all -- but I never felt that one other person could enter that room and cure what was bothering me...or that any number of people could enter that room." Our sweet friend recommended this bar to Us. We arrived and April welcomed us with open arms. She gave us the best drinks and was so friendly. So we closed out the tab and gave a nice tip and both me and my husband were very drunk. The Reno Room is a Long Beach institution and in a city where community is everything, this local Long Beach dive bar is a staple of the community. Strong affordable drinks, welcoming bartenders and servers, free pool during happy hour, and access to the delicious food at Cocorenos makes this one of my favorite bars in all of Long Beach. Roxy is amazing and super chill, back in the day she was my favorite sever but these days you can visit her at the bar. When you order a drink, you never know how much it's going to cost. It depends on the bartender. For instance, my favorite non-wine drink is a Michelada and I was thrilled that Coco Renos had Clamato instead of some cheesy Bloody Mary mix. If you like that too, don't get too excited. They charge extra for Clamato, but who knows how much. You won't know how much because every bartender will charge you something different and no one gives you a bill!! (Insert IRS Audit here). Depending on which bartender is working, you will get charged more or less for the same thing. This practice is trouble. I've also seen bartenders here pocket money instead of putting it where it's supposed to go (tsk, tsk, Lisa!! It's wrong to steal!!!) Look, I love a good dive bar as much as the next person, but this place is sketchy. If they get a chance to reopen, I suggest they clean up their act before someone gets in deep trouble. read more

Cheap drinks/food! Came on a Tuesday and got $4.50 margaritas and the California fries. The fries were super flavorful, so I highly recommend. The first margarita was really good, by margarita #2 it was alright, then the last one tasted very strong. I'm assuming this was to get us out of the place faster lol the service was not very good, as it took very long to flag down our waiter throughout our time there. If you drink in hole in the walls and live near the beach or Eastside of LB you've been to the Reno Room. Bigger than it looks. Pools tables around the back near the restrooms and spacious considering the space used. Good ol' 4th street parking, which means no parking. Lol. They've adapted to covid protocol and have outdoor seating that you have to grab before the locals or you'll be stuck at the sidewalk tables that offer no shade and have you dangling on the curb. The drinks are always stiff and priced decently. The food was a new try for me. The "waiters" are nice but busy and more bartenders than waiters. But they adapt. I ordered a chicken enchilada and chicken taco plate. He ordered a burrito. I liked the crispy taco shell and they were packed with meat but definitely not the best taco I've had. Chicken was dry and both salsa roja on the enchilada and meat were not very flavorful. Would've been better after a few more long islands. Lol. He enjoyed his burrito but I think he was just hungry.
