It's cash only but they have an ATM. I took my brother there for helping me move big stuff. We also had my nephew along with us and he was okay to be there. What I really appreciate is that sometimes it's even kid-friendly, which makes it a great option if you're not just going out solo or with friends. I've been coming around since back when it was Iguana Kelly's, and it's been cool to see how the place has evolved while still keeping that local, neighborhood feel. The location is super easy to find, right next to a donut shop and a mechanic, and across the street you've got a 7-Eleven, Subway, and a few other small spots. Plus, Tommy's Burgers and an Arco are right nearby, so everything you might need is within reach. I tried both the cucumber mixed drink and the mango mixed drink, both were really good, but I personally preferred the cucumber one. It's less sweet and way more refreshing, especially if you're not into overly sugary drinks. We also had a BBQ chicken pizza that they cook in a fire oven (I think it's called a wood-fired pizza), and it was really good, definitely worth trying if you go. Service was good During the outdoor event, they had things set up really well, including a sign that read "21 and over beyond this point only," which helped keep things organized. They also had jumpers outside for the little ones to enjoy, along with tables and chairs so everyone could hang out comfortably. Parking can be a bit tight in their lot, but there's always street parking if you take a minute to read the signs. Overall, it's a great hangout spot with a welcoming atmosphere and something happening more often than not. Definitely worth checking out.

My dog was also welcomed and loved by the staff and patrons. I even struck up a few fun conversations with others at the bar. Unfortunately, things took a turn during the second bartender's shift. She was inattentive and spent most of her time on her phone. Despite raising my hand a few times, I couldn't get her attention to order another drink. To make matters worse, she actively served others sitting at the bar while continuing to ignore me. While the first bartender made a great impression, the change in service left me disappointed. I did meet a new friend, which was a highlight, but now I know to enjoy my time there early and head out when the second shift starts.

My last venture to ye olde V, my roommate broke up a fight in the girls room, my friends and I drunkenly sang along to Iggy Pop, and a hipster girl was hoisted out by the straps of her 90s era child's backpack. So, all things considered, my life may be in shambles, but at least I'm not brawling in the girls room. The drinks rule and the bartenders are the BEST.

The service from the staff was excellent, I forgot his name, but the cook was very friendly and hospitable. For appetizers, we decided on pretzels and chicken nachos. We originally thought the pretzel would be one of those big, soft pretzels with a side of cheese, but to our surprise, they came as traditional pretzels with a side of yellow sauce. The sauce tasted similar to Chick-fil-A sauce and paired well with them. The chicken nachos were really yummy as well! The inside of the bar isn't dog-friendly; however, they do have a small outdoor patio where fur babies are welcome. I will say, I wish the patio was a bit more spacious, as it felt like I was practically sitting with the people around me due to how tight the space was. The inside of the bar is also a bit cramped. I finally went by myself after getting off of work. I sat at the bar and ordered a Guinness. This Guinness was served to me with 1/3 of it just being foam. The bartender said they were having issues with the tap/keg. After my second foamy Guinness I ordered a burger. The burger was alright, wasn't anything special but wasn't bad either. There's a reason why they've been around for so long. They're one of the few bars remaining in Long Beach that opens at 6am, and it's surprising how many people you will see in there at that hour. Taco Tuesdays are where it's at, with deals all day and additional Happy Hour deals kicking in at 5pm. Old school drink prices and awesome food by Cocoreno's next door. THE BLIND DONKEY IS NOT SAFE FOR TRANS PEOPLE…read more Last night (6/28) between 10-11pm, my trans boyfriend was followed into the men's bathroom by a security guard who started aggressively yelling at them for using the "wrong" bathroom. The security guard asked extremely inappropriate questions like "aren't you a lady?" and "what bathroom do you usually use?". Anytime my boyfriend responded, he yelled more and threatened to kick him out. This was a deeply upsetting situation. We were there for a friend's birthday and we left immediately after the incident. We definitely will NOT be returning to the Blind Donkey. We also suggest our queer and trans friends and community avoid this place too! The Blind Donkey needs to do better with educating and welcoming people of all genders. For good karaoke in a queer & trans friendly place, we recommend Silver Fox!
