Special shoutout to everyone here for putting on some excellent service for Long Beach Pride. Free hot dogs, killer drink specials, and a banger-after-banger playlist as usual. Even got to see the management here today and got a shot of fruity-loop-infused vodka straight to the dome. Happy Pride!

Been here a couple times now and it's been solid all the time. Drinks are very unique and tasty. My personal favorite is the mezcal sour. Inside is a chill vibe and service from the bartenders is on point. Definitely worth checking out if you're in the area

Parking is definitely difficult, make sure to make time to find parking. Service is excellent. I loved our servers & even the bouncer was super friendly. Absolutely loved the free popcorn, please don't ever stop doing that. Thank you for all the refills (: we had the dream boat (loved) & freaky little potation. So many different unique well made cocktails. Will definitely be back. Also loved the decor & lighting. Cute bar, not fancy but not a typical dive bar either! A good middle

It's so pretty here for Christmas! They have a fake snow machine out for the holidays, which is just so wonderfully festive. I can't recommend enough their hot dogs for Happy Hour, which are $5 and come loaded with the works (ketchup, mustard, onions, and relish).

Best Christmas Bar in LBC! We stumbled upon this bar one day and it definitely met our expectations. To start off: the drinks are DELICIOUS, not only are they creative but they also taste delightful. They currently have a Christmas menu with tons of unique flavors including a coquito. We bought some hot dogs and they were also pretty good, make sure to hit happy hour for $4 hot dogs. Service was extraordinary, from the individuals at the door to the bartenders everyone is very welcoming and helpful. Very narrow but has lots of seating and even on a very busy day it doesn't feel cramped Music is perfect volume but the amount of people in the bar make it for a very noisy place if that's something you care about. Great place to go with friends or on a date. 10/10 hoping to visit soon

We visited this bar for the first time yesterday and had such a great experience! First, the gentleman working the door was incredibly handsome, kind, and surprisingly insightful--we couldn't believe he was the "security." He immediately set a warm, welcoming tone. Inside, everyone was friendly and attentive. We ordered beers and cocktails, then noticed a sign for a "pumpkin ___ jello shot" on the wall and were instantly intrigued. Huge shoutout to Noah, our amazing bartender, who surprised us with two of those plus an espresso martini jello shot. They were out of this world--such a creative twist on a classic bar concept. I've been to plenty of cocktail bars, but this spot stood out thanks to the atmosphere, the staff, and the unique drinks. Overall, an unexpectedly wonderful experience. We'll definitely be back!

Who knew quality local dive + quality cocktails would make for such a happy marriage and have a baby Gee? The cocktail menu is tiki inspired, and so some of the drinks waxed a tad too sweet for my curmudgeon palate. But the menu is so impressive and changes seasonally! Barkeeps are super friendly, and the super kool LBC vibe was probably my favorite part!

Hemmingway Colada and Terry's Margarita from Last Call $10 menu. Soooo good!

I'm mad at myself for taking so long to get to Baby Gees. I've been missing out on some of the best cocktails I've had in Long Beach! Not only do they have fun names, but they combine ingredients like nowhere else, creating adventurous libations to stimulate your senses. What finally brought me here was the enticing Last Call Week menu offered during the first week of March. $10 drinks! Terry's Margarita involved tequila, Seville orange aperitif, tamarind, dark chocolate and lime. It was almost like a spiked Oaxacan molé in a glass, rich and complex. Hemingway Colada consisted of Belizian rum, Jamaican rum, Maraschino, coconut, grapefruit and pink peppercorn. I usually avoid piña coladas because they tend to be too sweet, but this was definitely not. Creamy and the grapefruit cut through the rum. The peppercorn gave it a nice kick too! On their regular cocktail menu, we tried the Cracker Jack Ol' Fash and The Honorable Miss Moonlight, both $18. Cracker Jack Ol' Fash is made up of bourbon, Cynar, amontillado sherry, Coca Cola reduction, cherry, peanut oil and topped with a cool temporary tattoo as the Cracker Jack prize. I initially thought this would be a bit sweet as well, but it wasn't! It was definitely one of the best variations of an old fashioned I've ever tasted. The Honorable Miss Moonlight was my favorite cocktail here of all! Gin, Suze, sake, togarashi (Japanese pepper), plum, nori and pine. Also not too sweet yet reminds me of a Japanese umeboshi candy with a nice balance of gin, sake and aperitif. They have snacks such as mixed nuts, olives, and chips as well as small pizzas. I tried the Burrata & Olive with Calabrian chili for $22. It was more like a flatbread than a pizza. I missed the old Red Room memories, but happy to see what they've done here! Service was quick and friendly, retro vibe, parking around here is horrible though.

One of my favorite bars to go to in Long Beach! I remember being influenced to visit from seeing either a TikTok video or Instagram reel. It is a fairly average size for a bar and has seating all around. I absolutely love the ambiance here. Not to mention, is it a LGBTQIA+ friendly bar! The aesthetic and decorations make it feel positive, fun, and almost homey. I personally wouldn't come here with more than a party of 4 just due to the size of it. It could be hard to sit all together if they are already busy. My favorite part is that they offer non alcoholic drinks. No judgment or questions asked. It might sound funny, hey, lets go to a bar for something non-alcoholic... defeats the purpose right? Haha but not here! I love that they do this to include everyone's tastes and preferences. I personally tag along with my friends but don't prefer alcohol so I really do appreciate this as a consumer. I tried a belly wash and my belly was HAPPY. happy belly happy life. they added some cherries, I don't know what kind they were, but It was a newfound love. If you've seen ratatouille where Anton Ego is transferred to a childhood memory then devours the ratatouille... yeah that was me with the cherries. Customer service was also great! Overall, it's a great bar to go to and try some fun cocktails or something simple! Parking is limited to the street, so be wary because all the blocks around fill up.

Came here since they were doing special drinks for the holidays. Easy finding parking. We parked in front of the building next door. They check IDs at the door and at the bar. Not a ton of holiday drinks, but we tried a couple things off the menu, one of which had a blinking light at the bottom of the glass. A lot of their usual drinks looked pretty good though. It's a divey ish space. Most tables were taken so we sat at the bar. Looked like you can bring your own food here as we saw one group having a potluck. I did like all the Christmas decor. Tons of vintage stuff too. Staff was nice. Friendly too. Good vibes!

We stumbled into Baby Gee's this past rainy weekend after missing our Symphony reservation, and honestly, I'm so glad we did. A friend had gone the week before and said it was worth checking out--and they were absolutely right. From the moment we walked up, the experience was already better than most places. The bouncer at the door was incredibly polite, helpful, and well-mannered. Such a refreshing change and it set the tone for the rest of the night. Inside, the ambience is spectacular--warm lighting, great vibe, and everyone just seemed to be having a genuinely good time. Before we could even settle on seats at the bar, the bartenders were already asking what they could get us. No frantic waving or flagging anyone down, which was honestly impressive. The drink menu is fantastic with tons of creative options. I even tried their pickled beer--sounds wild, tastes amazing. Huge shoutout to our bartender, Noah, originally from NYC. As a fellow New Yorker (Queens!), chatting with him made the whole experience feel like home. He went out of his way to offer recommendations, made sure we were taken care of the entire night, and kept the vibe fun. His service was truly top-tier. Every drink we had was delicious and clearly crafted with care. They mentioned they're dropping a new Winter drink menu this week, so I'd definitely recommend stopping in soon. If our night was any indication, you won't be disappointed!

LOVED! From out of town and always want to try new places ~ believe the great reviews for this place! The cocktails are INSANE! Fun ambiance! There was a tad of a wait for the cocktails as it was busy and only one bartender...BUT they were worth the wait and made with pure heart. She is magician! So good! We had the burrata and olive pizza - 5/5 Warm pretzel ~ 5/5 People Eater Sour ~ OMG! a must! 10/5 Soda Shoppe ~ 5/5 Glutton for Punishment ~ 5/5 Highly recommend! Will definitely be back when in town!

This hidden gem lives inside the newly renovated Fairmont Breakers in Long Beach, and for all my Fairmont regulars: relax, you're in good hands, their world-renowned elegance remains intact. PARKING Valet is only $10, which in Southern California basically qualifies as a love language. (Note to Fairmont Breakers Management: Listen up, my friends! Please keep it that way, gas is $5.97/gallon and my wallet is already in therapy.) I handed the valet a $5 tip before I even stepped out of my car, just so I could glide into the lobby feeling like a full‑blown princess making her grand entrance. Before you leave, you simply pay the valet in cash or card and they'll have your car right there before you can even blink. AMBIANCE Walk in and boom! A towering, beautifully decorated Christmas tree greets you like it's auditioning for a holiday movie. Check out my photos; the whole lobby whispers one word: sophisticated. Oooh, I love that tree! Live music starts at 7 PM, the bar closes at 10, and honestly... that's ideal for those of us over 50 who consider 10 PM the witching hour for pajamas. Rob Fontana was performing tonight, and his music was so good I found myself time‑traveling back to the good old days. Every song hit, Rob. Good job! SERVICE Our server, Nia, was a star. Attentive, sharp memory, and smooth service all the way through. Zero notes. FOOD The menu is small, so if you show up ravenous, pace yourself or plan to Uber home after a cocktail‑heavy evening. I'm allergic to cheese, so I had to double‑check ingredients, but the Mushroom Flatbread was outstanding, flavor was superb and the best part was they did not skimp on the mushrooms! A+ for that. I also tried the Prosciutto di Parma with melon, which is a strange combo for a California girl... but hey, I never said I wasn't a weirdo. Drinks are not my thing since I enjoy company without alcohol's help, so I can't help you with that. DATE‑WORTHY OR NOT? Absolutely. Alter Ego gets a double thumbs‑up from me and a strong recommendation for your next Silver Singles date. It's easy to find, the seating is comfortable (even for those of us with backs that like to complain), and they even offer tube pillows for extra support. Tell me that's not romance.

Meaning, we were spending time together and just moving through the interaction, like clothes in a spin cycle. But going here made our time together mean something more because we had arrived at a space that elevated our mood and spirits. So we were now feeling the suds and splashes of the movement not just in the monotony of the spin. As we entered, I felt like the place was a Chinese Market but indoors. I have never bene to China (I have yet to die so maybe one day my feet will have the chance to step the Great Wall) but I feel like their street vendors would have stands like the seating motif within the main room of this joint. The place was not packed but there was no space within the wooden booths for Conrad and I. I asked for options, and they showed me two different rooms. The first room was the Hao Pen You room which was heavilty yet beautifully decorated with varying red lanterns in the ceiling. Additionally, there was a paper dragon hanging in the ceiling, swimming in the air amidst the lanterns. The host ushered me in, and milaseconds after I felt a quick sense of awe. Not like the one I felt one I saw the Sisteen Chappel, but one that compelled me to snap quick photos of the aerial view. The host understood. She stopped her explanation to give me the space to feel my wow that was delivered in a red envelope. I eventually decided to sit in this room, so there is more detail that I can deliver, but before I do, I did request to see the other room of the house. So we crossed the room with the wooden booths and stepped into an immersive Tiki Bar that gave shipwreck vibes. Like the survivors of shipwreck took what they could from the boat's carcass, and made a great bar in the beach that glowed with the light of jellyfish and had seaweed on the ceiling as decoration that was not stale like mistletoe on a doorway. When Conrad and I sat in the Hao Pen You room, we learned that it was a quasi speak easy. According to history, in the 1800's it was common for Chinese immigrants to visit gambling and opium dens behind laundry rooms to find a space that they could call their own and escape discrimination. I am sure that dens of the past did not have the blazing style of the room I was sitting in, but I did appreciate learning about the history that inspired the room. Only because the pain of the past was reshaped to honor a culture in theatrical and edgy red. Plus, as one of my pictures show, the dragon's face and laser lit eyes, made it seem like a real creature born to this earth, not one simply reserved for myth and Game of Throne episodes. I appreciated the immersive trip to Chinese's lore and history. The reason why I did not give this place 5 stars, was the food. The food in general was (maybe tragically) basic. Conrad did not confirm this fact until we were outside the restaurant. I asked him why did he not share his feelings with our server when she asked? He explained why would he, she did not cook the food, and she could not do anything? And I am from the camp, where honesty matters but I guess it might only matter to me? He might be right what does honest feedback do for a server? Conrad might have been practicing "restaurant politeness" like keep the situation civil because if one becomes a demanding patron or eater then one breaks the social contract and becomes rude. Specifically, Conrad and I had the Vegan Dumplings, the pork buns, and rice wrapped in leaves. And even though we had different bites, and each one had their own flavor profile at the end I can only describe each bite as basic. That is my opinion, and I stand by it, as I should, as every one should. Perhaps this restaurant owns this identity. This might be a place that offers theatrical atmosphere, great drinks, vibes that make a Tuesday special, but their food might be the area that remains standard, and in the final score card the servers of the joint might be ok with that.

My fiancée ordered the Paloma Blanca, and it was excellent, awell-crafted cocktail. One of the highlights of the meal was the Tacos Dorados. With crema, and avocado emulsion was absolutely delicious. The flavors immediately reminded me of the potato tacos my mom used to make when I was growing up. The mushrooms added a rich depth of flavor. We also ordered the Arrachera, a 10-ounce Black Angus skirt steak served Anaheim pepper hand-pressed heirloom blue corn tortillas. The steak was flavorful and well seasoned, although it was slightly more underdone. Overall, the food was very good, and the atmosphere made the experience even more enjoyable. While the pricing felt a little high for some of the portions, the quality of the ingredients, thoughtful preparation, and memorable flavors made it a restaurant we would gladly return to. False Advertising and Total Failure of a "Speakeasy"…read more This place should not call itself a speakeasy. According to their website, they are strict about dress code, reservations, and no large parties. None of that was enforced. People arrived wearing sports clothes, tennis shoes, and flip-flops, and a group of more than 10 people was allowed in. That group was loud, drunk, and screaming, completely destroying any speakeasy ambiance. We had a reservation booked one week in advance for 2 tables of six, yet by 8:30 pm, we were told no food was available, despite the bar being almost empty. The water was already on the table when we arrived and tasted strongly of chlorine, with no ice. The waitress was clearly new, untrained, and unprepared. She did not know the menu, didn't know how to take an order properly, and provided no guidance whatsoever. There was one bartender Ricardo, who took over an hour to prepare cocktails and showed no sense of urgency or care. The dramatic cocktail descriptions sounded impressive, but the drinks did not match the descriptions at all. Because of the delays, we were never even able to properly toast or celebrate our friend. The charcuterie board took forever and arrived with an absurd amount of cheese and only six pieces of bread. To make things worse, part of the food we ordered never arrived at all. The live jazz band advertised and promised never showed up. When asked, the staff responded with: "I don't know, they were supposed to be here. I don't have their phone number." That level of disorganization is unacceptable. At the end of the night, we were shocked to receive a check close to $600 for two tables, despite each person only having one cocktail and shared food. The bartender, Ricardo, approached us and said: "Well, sorry, we really tried tonight! It wasn't the best, but we tried." Honestly, that comment made the experience even more frustrating. I can't imagine how bad it would have been if they hadn't "tried."That statement perfectly summarizes the problem -- trying is not enough when everything fails. I would not recommend this place for a speakeasy experience. This is not a speakeasy. It's a poorly run bar hiding behind a concept it does not deliver. Do not recommend.

This place was such a pleasant surprise. From the outside, it looks pretty unassuming, but once you…read morestep inside, it's actually incredibly cute and has a warm, inviting atmosphere. One of the highlights is their Thai tea, which is served with a popsicle and seems to be one of their most popular items for good reason. It's fun, unique, and absolutely delicious. I also tried the salmon curry, which was something new for me, and I ended up loving it. The flavors were rich, balanced, and unlike anything I've ordered before. Another unexpected favorite was the wings. I'm usually not a big wings person, but these were surprisingly good--crispy, flavorful, and definitely worth ordering. Overall, the food, drinks, and atmosphere exceeded my expectations. It's a spot I would absolutely come back to and one that I would definitely recommend to others.

After a festival by LBC city hall we stopped in to have a quick dinner. LBC is happening in the…read moreevenings and weekends but most restaurants close pretty early. Kin was one of the only restaurants open until 10 PM. We were seated right away, and somehow the five of us sat in a private room. It was kind of late for me to eat anything really heavy so I just have my usual salad and it was the beef tenderloin salad. They serve it up with a lot of beef and less veggies. The beef itself was a little chewy and in large pieces. I prefer the meat to be cut a little smaller and would like more lettuce and cucumber. I got a little taste of the spicy fried rice, which was really good. Some of us ordered Thai tea and didn't expect what we received, which was the tea with a Thai tea popsicle. What a treat! The Thai tea itself was pretty standard, but that popsicle was like the icing on a cake. The places, modern and clean. Staff is helpful and nice. Parking is their own lot but can be difficult to get a spot on a busy day or night.
