This has become my home bar. It's a great spot for locals to hang and make friends, but also I've met lots of people who drove from LA to have a Long Beach day, which is fun. Definitely worth it! The vibes are unmatched. It's a unique blend of "top notch cocktail crafting" and "beer and a hot pretzel after work." You can dress up, you can dress down, it's very 'just be yourself' which I love. I've literally had caviar AND hot dogs there in the same night at an event. They know how to blend high/low. Incredible knowledge and ingredients but not snooty patootie. Super inclusive and fun, with cool popups and events happening all the time. It's a full bar so you can get any cocktail you would normally order if you're keeping it simple, or beer, wine, boilermakers, etc. There's a span of offerings and price points, so something for everyone. (Also really good N/A cocktails!) The menu is super inventive and creative! And the cocktail menu changes out every so often so there are new things to try. This area is vintage vibes and Baby Gee speaks it fluently. Really cool decor, curated by the owners who design everything from the playlist to the cocktails to the invention of never-before-seen flavors and shapes of jello shots. I really wanted to love this place. The vibe was fantastic...great music, a stylish ambiance, and an impressive selection of specialty craft cocktails. It's clear the owners put a lot of thought and creativity into making their cocktails the centerpiece of the experience. That said, the execution didn't live up to the concept. The menu appears to rotate regularly, and while the drinks were certainly unique, most of the cocktails we tried were hit or miss. At roughly $22 per drink, I expected more balance and refinement. One cocktail started with flavors reminiscent of an Old Fashioned, but after the initial sip, the combination of bitters and fruit syrups created an unpleasant cough syrup like finish. We tried a mocktail as well, and it was mostly ice and soda water, with what seemed like a collection of syrups doing most of the heavy lifting. The drinks were creative, but many of the flavor profiles felt disjointed rather than intentional. The biggest issue, however, was the bar service and sanitation practices. I watched a bartender place a cucumber garnish into a glass using his bare hands, touching the entire garnish in the process. He then continued to take credit cards, cash, and other items before stuffing ice into additional drinks with his bare hands. Whether or not this technically violates health code standards, it certainly wasn't appetizing to watch and left a poor impression. Parking is another challenge. There is no dedicated parking, and unless you get lucky, expect to park several blocks away and walk. Overall, the atmosphere is a lot of fun and the cocktail menu is ambitious, but the drinks didn't justify the price point, and the sanitation concerns were hard to overlook. I wouldn't rush back, especially given the cost and parking difficulties. read more

Best Christmas Bar in LBC! We stumbled upon this bar one day and it definitely met our expectations. To start off: the drinks are DELICIOUS, not only are they creative but they also taste delightful. They currently have a Christmas menu with tons of unique flavors including a coquito. We bought some hot dogs and they were also pretty good, make sure to hit happy hour for $4 hot dogs. First, the gentleman working the door was incredibly handsome, kind, and surprisingly insightful--we couldn't believe he was the "security." He immediately set a warm, welcoming tone. I'm mad at myself for taking so long to get to Baby Gees. I've been missing out on some of the best cocktails I've had in Long Beach! Not only do they have fun names, but they combine ingredients like nowhere else, creating adventurous libations to stimulate your senses. What finally brought me here was the enticing Last Call Week menu offered during the first week of March. $10 drinks! Terry's Margarita involved tequila, Seville orange aperitif, tamarind, dark chocolate and lime. It was almost like a spiked Oaxacan molé in a glass, rich and complex. Hemingway Colada consisted of Belizian rum, Jamaican rum, Maraschino, coconut, grapefruit and pink peppercorn. I usually avoid piña coladas because they tend to be too sweet, but this was definitely not. Creamy and the grapefruit cut through the rum. The peppercorn gave it a nice kick too! On their regular cocktail menu, we tried the Cracker Jack Ol' Fash and The Honorable Miss Moonlight, both $18. Cracker Jack Ol' Fash is made up of bourbon, Cynar, amontillado sherry, Coca Cola reduction, cherry, peanut oil and topped with a cool temporary tattoo as the Cracker Jack prize. I initially thought this would be a bit sweet as well, but it wasn't! It was definitely one of the best variations of an old fashioned I've ever tasted. The Honorable Miss Moonlight was my favorite cocktail here of all! Gin, Suze, sake, togarashi (Japanese pepper), plum, nori and pine. Also not too sweet yet reminds me of a Japanese umeboshi candy with a nice balance of gin, sake and aperitif. They have snacks such as mixed nuts, olives, and chips as well as small pizzas. I tried the Burrata & Olive with Calabrian chili for $22. It was more like a flatbread than a pizza. I missed the old Red Room memories, but happy to see what they've done here! One of my favorite bars to go to in Long Beach! I remember being influenced to visit from seeing either a TikTok video or Instagram reel. It is a fairly average size for a bar and has seating all around. I absolutely love the ambiance here. Not to mention, is it a LGBTQIA+ friendly bar! The aesthetic and decorations make it feel positive, fun, and almost homey. I personally wouldn't come here with more than a party of 4 just due to the size of it. It could be hard to sit all together if they are already busy. My favorite part is that they offer non alcoholic drinks. No judgment or questions asked. It might sound funny, hey, lets go to a bar for something non-alcoholic... defeats the purpose right? Haha but not here! I love that they do this to include everyone's tastes and preferences. I personally tag along with my friends but don't prefer alcohol so I really do appreciate this as a consumer. I tried a belly wash and my belly was HAPPY. happy belly happy life. they added some cherries, I don't know what kind they were, but It was a newfound love. If you've seen ratatouille where Anton Ego is transferred to a childhood memory then devours the ratatouille... yeah that was me with the cherries. Customer service was also great! A friend had gone the week before and said it was worth checking out--and they were absolutely right. From the moment we walked up, the experience was already better than most places. what a cool and vibey bar! really enjoyed our time and drinks here, the cocktails are strong and super unique. we came here on a late Saturday night around 11 and seating wasnt too bad even though the bar was busy. i was told they rotate the menu every 3 months so if you came every once in a while, you would have something new to try. for the menu this time, our group ordered the loose screw sour (lovedd the star decor on top!), pina thailada, mango-not-a, whangdoodle, and Bob's Your Uncle (such fun names lol) they blend a lot of different flavors here so it was super different than other cocktails I'm used to but all the cocktails we ordered were so yummy. the far far away was a stand out one that my bf ordered with a raspberry note, delicious! only street parking which may be hard to find at peak times but we secured one close pretty luckily. my only gripe is that the music was really loud even for a bar, i loved the ambience they were trying to set with the fun latin music but we really had to yell to be heard within our small group. if it was turned down just a bit, that would have made a difference but either way, still such a fun time and great drinks! we will be back :) read more

What a fun spot! We went to dinner nearby and the server recommended Baby Gee! I am so glad he did- because we had a great time. This is clearly a neighborhood favorite. There was a lot of people inside but I never felt cramped. Luckily after we ordered our drinks a couple spots opened up for us to sit. From all the good reviews on here, it was a must to give it a try. Also we were nearby so it was walking distance. Prior time, there was always a line. Didn't know if this was a club or a bar. But this visit, it was a surprise to see how cute it was. There wasn't a line but a security that checked our id when we walked in. Once inside it's a dark lounge that's with a cool no fuss vibe. There's seating but it was kind of limited. Mainly all along the wall and a small corner in the back area. The only bar, a long counter with seating as well. Drinks were quite nice with what they offered on the menu. It's a full bar so whatever you're into, I'm sure the bartender is able to make it. Both bartender that was working that night was excellent. Sweet and did offer some nice advice on what drinks we should try. They did offer food which we didn't have but did notice that the pizzas that came out looked amazing. The vibe was nice and not a fussy LA scene. It does get crowded so seating maybe a trick if you have a big group. Drinks were excellent and the selection they offered was great. There is ample seating at the bar, comfy couches and benches/stools, but can get crowded during weekends with standing room only. It is just one long rectangle room with a band in the back playing tunes some evenings. Lots of conversation pieces here, my partner and I spend a lot of time looking at the art and deciphering what some pieces are. Amazing drinks here with fun names and something for everyone, including non-alcoholic options. The highlight though for me are the $4 hot dogs during happy hour + the tasty free popcorn. We ordered one round of drinks, paid with a card, and planned to leave a cash tip before heading out. Before we even had the chance, I overheard him make a loud comment "how funny it is when people don't tip". It was said directly within earshot and clearly aimed at us. That kind of passive-aggressive remark felt unnecessary and unprofessional, especially since he didn't know our intention. A few minutes later, my friend went to the restroom near closing time, around 11:59 p.m., and the bartender asked me to wait outside even though my friend was still inside. As a woman alone, that made me feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. Then, as we were leaving, I overheard him tell my friend, "I know your friend is mad at me because I made her wait outside," which was another unnecessary and unprofessional comment. I completely understand closing procedures, but there is a respectful way to handle guests without being rude or making assumptions. Hopefully, management takes note so others do not have a similar experience. read more
